Negative experience: First time i wasn't too happy .. went down to the restaurant for some egg and toast , i started eating my food then I noticed small piece of glass in my food if I wasn't in a rush I would have wanted to speak with manager but this left me really disappointed . My experience is always great unfortunately this is the first time I wasn't too happy.. I'm glad I noticed this or else I would have swallowed it and it would have been really dangerous considering it was a small piece of glass.. for a high end club I am shocked I had encountered this.. it was only till I felt it in my mouth I had to spit it right out as was wee bit sharp and hard..not happy david loyd sort it out !!

From the moment I stepped in, I was immediately struck by the serene and welcoming atmosphere. The environment at David Lloyd is designed to be both calming and energizing, a perfect balance that caters to both relaxation and activity. Ambiance: The overall ambiance is superb, with spacious areas that feel modern and well-maintained. Whether you're there for fitness, leisure, or a casual meeting like I was, the environment seems to suit every purpose. The natural lighting, elegant decor, and cleanliness were all top-notch, which really enhanced the experience. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that feels premium yet comfortable for everyone. Facilities: Although I was primarily there for a meet-up, I couldn’t help but notice the range of facilities on offer. The gym looked well-equipped with state-of-the-art machines, and there were plenty of spaces for both group exercises and personal workouts. It’s clear that the club takes fitness seriously, but also provides a welcoming atmosphere for those who may want to wind down in the spa area or relax by the pool. Everything looked well-maintained and clean, which really stood out to me. Coffee: Now, onto one of the highlights of my visit—the coffee! I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was fantastic—rich, smooth, and well-brewed. It was easily one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while. The café area is cozy and well-furnished, making it a perfect spot to relax or catch up with someone, whether you're fresh off a workout or just stopping by like I was. The staff at the café were friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything was served just right. They even had a nice selection of pastries and snacks to accompany your drink. Staff: Another big plus of my visit was the staff. From the moment I walked in, everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and professional. They made me feel right at home. It's clear that the staff take pride in their work, and it shows in the way they treat guests. Whether it’s at the reception or the café, you can tell they aim to create a pleasant experience for everyone who steps through the door. Overall Experience: David Lloyd offers a fantastic mix of a premium environment with friendly, accessible service. Whether you're looking to focus on your fitness goals or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in a relaxing setting, this place has it all. I left feeling refreshed and thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. If you're considering visiting or joining, don't hesitate—you won’t be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: We have recently joined the David Lloyd Club in Hamilton and it is just superb. Christina at front of house is fabulous, a welcoming smile with helpful support. Kevin from the sales team was amazing in helping us sign up, we had loads of questions which he answered speedily, concisely and professionally. If you are thinking about joining I would urge you to speak with Kevin as he makes signing up effortless and fun. After speaking with Christina and Kevin they will have you excited to get started and be part of the David Lloyd family.

Fantastic experience: Met by Kevin at my introductory meeting, shown round the facilities, answered all my questions promptly. Extremely helpful and informative , made to feel comfortable and welcome in the environment. All the packages were explained clearly in detail and I was extremely happy to sign up right away for the Platinum. My first actual visit to use the facilities was a couple of weeks later, and again I was met by Kevin who answered a few more of my questions. I look forward to enjoying the David Lloyd Club

Negative experience: Was eager to visit on a free open day. After a 30 minute wait for someone to tell us we can just wander around and to let us know we would need to purchase an overpriced tacky branded lock (seriously? no spares on an open day) We excitedly made way to the pool but it was disappointing cold and crowded. It wasn't a good look for the life guard to be on their phone during kids classes but when the pool is that small I don't blame them. Expected a luxury bar to relax in but it just feels like an overpriced cafe especially with all of the kids everywhere. I'll stick to the council leisure membership and local tennis club

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years , although it might be slightly more expensive than other gyms it is worth the extra money. facilities feel high end in comparison to most gyms and it definitely feels like a club rather than just a gym staff are superb but Lisa from the bar and cristina from receiption always stands out. They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a fantastic experience during their visit. Lisa's coffees are always a hit, and Cristina's warm smile is the perfect way to start the day. Their exceptional service truly sets them apart and adds an extra special touch to the club

Negative experience: When I joined I had to pay a joining fee. Fair enough. But was not told about the spa area closing for 3 months. Fast forward to today and told the club I was unable to go anymore. I was told ( in line with your contract which closes on September 1st. Booo yous No heart

Negative experience: My partner and I have been members at David Lloyd Hamilton for several months and are here 5/6 times a week. We use the spin classes twice a week and don’t ever have an issues with parking. Unfortunately these are the only consistent good things I have to say about David Lloyd Hamilton. The ENTIRE gym, minus spin classes, are full of noisy children or swarmed with 16 year olds taking up a significant portion of the gym. The gym is also sometimes untidy but only because a small portion of the members don’t return weights or clean equipment. A big reason for joining David Lloyd was it provided access to badminton, swimming and the gym. Unless you’re going swimming between the designated adult times (which isn’t always convenient for us) it’ll be noisy children in the pool and isn’t relaxing at all. We’ve played badminton quite a few times and on a number of occasions we’ve been in a court next to kids classes and constantly had to stop to pass balls back with staff continually repeating “sorry” but making no effort to discontinue. The coffee in the cafe is delicious however again that’s where it stops, always very busy with loud children, there’s no such thing as a relaxing coffee at David Lloyd regardless of time of day. Unless you’re planning on coming here with a family membership or don’t mind noisy children you probably won’t enjoy it for the money that you pay. On a positive note, the reception staff are always lovely and happy to help and Dale the PT is a cracking guy and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with pool being closed ,visiting Scotland for the first time and i thought as i am a member i will pop in for a sauna and pool , unfortunately pool and sauna closed , no information on the app or anywhere took a 25£ taxi to get here just to walk back now. Love how david lloyds forces you to use app for everything but can not put an information like the club spa is closed out there .

Positive experience: I been a member for four years I do agree with some comments customer service is poor some staff are very rude and especially at the receptionist area its as if they don't want you in. At the cafe area there one female worker who very rude ignored and unhelpfull also there is a concern that in the gents area there young girls in with there fathers but while there fathers are in shower they are left unattended to there should be no girls in when men come out of showers naked very bad and should be shorted immediately I do feel thee attendants at the pool are inexperience and poor quality I thing they lapse in training standards the price people pay standards should be more professional but not yes gym area is the best facility in the building

Negative experience: My experience with David Lloyd Hamilton has been nothing short of a nightmare. We recently discovered that the club is undergoing a refurbishment, a fact that was conveniently omitted when we signed up. The response from their Operations Supervisor, was unhelpful and unacceptable. They expect us to pay a 25% fee to freeze our membership during the refurbishment, even though we won't have access to any facilities. The alternative clubs they suggested, David Lloyd Renfrew and Glasgow West End, are inconveniently far from our location. This level of mismanagement, lack of transparency, and unreasonable requests make me regret ever joining this club. I strongly advise anyone considering a membership here to think twice. This experience has been extremely disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic club, staff are friendly and helpful and loads of classes and equipment. Cafe is great and has various options, all delicious. About to undergo extensive renovations which are well overdue in some areas. Overall an excellent place to socialise and stay healthy.

Fantastic experience: Amazing leisure facility! Used the swimming pool and sauna/steam room, they exceeded my expectations. The staff are also very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: A place for all your health and well-being needs! I personally use the gym, swimming pool (+ Sauna/Steam room), Tennis and badminton facilities regularly. The additional benefits of a restaurant, respectful receptionists/staff and free parking is extremely useful.

Negative experience: Unfortunately it all came down to me not getting treated well when i was trying to leave i gave my 3 months notice actually ended up 5 yous did not stop taking payment and i had to cancel my direct debit then got told i still had to pay and while we were in discussion about the mixup with emails taking days to get reply and getting nowhere but were still trying to see where things went wrong as was going to joine back up once i cleared my feet with personal things and they sent my payments to debt collectors which has not cost me a lot more would be scared to joine back incase it happens again. There was a error at there end unfortunately but i had to pay for it.

Negative experience: They’ve recently banned the use of personal ball machines. I paid a lot of money for mine and they’re telling me I can’t use it as it’s a “safety issue”. They might as well ban swimming and weightlifting as someone can get hurt. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?

Fantastic experience: I'm a new member to the club. In my short time here I would consider the customer service from all the staff as first class. An hour after I had booked my PT session a very friendly PT called to introduce herself. All the facilities are of a high standard. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Well maintained gym with a wide variety of facilities and classes to suit everyone at any fitness level. Very family-friendly with kids clubs and kids activities on at the same time as adult classes. The cafe serves reasonably priced, fresh food and drink at convenient times during the day. All of this, and, friendly and helpful staff and trainers. The trainers at David Lloyd Hamilton are extremely knowledgeable and keen to offer advice and support to help your fitness journey. Even during full classes, they're able to provide specific and personalised advice and encouragement to help you perform to the best of your ability. Euan S (Spin, Synergy, Blaze) in particular brings a positive and friendly energy to all his classes - seems invested in your incremental performance improvements - and gives science-based advice that helps you do your best. His music playlists are on beat and match the energy of the class. If you want to have (fairly punishing, yet rewarding) fun while watching yourself improve over time, I definitely recommend Euan's classes. Mishan A (Spin) encourages you to push through particularly difficult challenges and is generous with his knowledge and experience. He is always very happy to help. I would say Mishan's classes are for people with slightly more experience as the stages are quite physically demanding. If you want to sweat out the stress of your day and tone up your body - I recommend Mishan's classes. The only downsides to the Hamilton location are the small sizes of the steam room / sauna, but I'd recommend figuring out when the quiet times are and planning your visits around that. The entry/exit barrier sometimes has issues with being too slow or unresponsive - but DL Hamilton will always have a member of staff posted outside to help whenever that happens. So this isn't really an issue. In all, the DL Hamilton location is clean, has a great variety of facilities, and has friendly and helpful staff. Love this location and never thought I would love a gym. Thanks!

Positive experience: Love this gym and the fact you can do so much here as a family wish they had adance club for girls.

Negative experience: My 17 year old still in school wanting £49 a month he does not work yet and no discount for kids still in full time education. Then the cherry on top £120 joining fee is redicluse. Where on earth do u thing kids get that money that is in full time education. Honestly money grabbing at it best. Fair play £49 for the facilities as it is good but the joining fee is taking the mickey. Should be ashamed charging kids that much.

Positive experience: The equipment is well maintained and the gym floor is really good. Pool facilities are nice. Steam room is giant but the sauna is a bit neat, can be hard to get in during busy times. Unfortunately I’ve only been a member for a few months and already the membership fees have been increased. Pretty disappointing given the membership fee was on the higher side to begin with at £60.
