- Booking Issues: Several visitors have faced difficulties with the class and facility booking systems, indicating a need for improvements in user experience.

Braywick Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great place for 5 a side football
Fantastic experience: Christmas buffet provided by centre (for over 55 groups) was very well organised and the centre staff who were present were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly
Fantastic experience: I recently attended Gina's Christmas get together held in the Baylis Theatre at Braywick. The staff had arranged a wide choice of finger food and hot and cold drinks. It was a very enjoyable start to the festive season.
Fantastic experience: Kings Church International meets here on Sundays. Great service and lovely people to worship with
Positive experience: The health suit is always over crowded and a bit grub. The feedback system they use using QR codes doesn’t work. And you have to pay for parking which is a bit of a joke if you consider they are supposed to be encouraging people to lead active life style. It a great venue but could be better.
Negative experience: I am a veteran with disability, My GP had made a referral and my referral was denied bass upon that this was my second referral ! I thought this was a local authority Gym Open for everyone.
Positive experience: Great gym and plenty of parking. I’ve been coming here since it opened and have no complaints. Really good facilities and great equipment in the gym
Positive experience: Go there regularly, so can’t complain !! Everything works well and courts are decent
Fantastic experience: Excellent leisure centre with added extras. Definitely worth a visit but best to book in advance as it can get busy. Please open earlier at the weekends
Positive experience: Nice pool, could do with more changing area though.
Fantastic experience: Great venue with plenty of parking.
Fantastic experience: Great venue, super facilities and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Would love to work there, very nice!
Fantastic experience: Massive leasure centre with plenty of car park and amazing cafe.
Fantastic experience: Went here for a kids’ swimming gala and it was a really nice clean leisure centre, much nicer than most of the ones I’ve been to in Surrey.
Fantastic experience: Visited for Comic Con 24. Had a lot of fun. Nice modern building with facilities golf simulator on top floor squash courts...
Negative experience: Not enought weights. Dont come here for weight lifting if u are going to come during peak times.
Fantastic experience: As far as Leisure Centres go - this is a gold standard. The gym is amazing and the staff are absolutely brilliant. Brilliant facilities, pitches and pool. Hats off to the guys running this.
Positive experience: there was a really nice guy called dayo akinjobi and he helped me out a lot
Fantastic experience: Love the steam and sauna. Very clean facilities as well.
Positive experience: Clean, friendly with really good facilities
Fantastic experience: Very clean and keeps you happy
Negative experience: Management need to train staff on unconscious bias. The staff behaved very differently towards me and my family compared to white counterparts. Will not go here again.
Negative experience: after just 10 minutes of the second hour of being in the pool they told us to leave since the life guard didn't feel safe!!! even though my boys had their arm floaties even in the beach they don't ask the people to leave for such a reason
Positive experience: The spectator seats on the 1st floor are terrible. Just a concrete block with tiles on them. Very sore on the posterior especially after a 4 hour event.
Positive experience: This is a very big and new leisure centre. There are a lot of old leisure centres which should be taken down and rebuild
Positive experience: Great sized swimming pool and a great cafe. It’s rarely crowded because swimmers are asked to book in advance. There’s not as many lane swimming sessions as I would like, as the pool is used by a lot of groups, but there are a few sessions a day and I can mostly find a time that works.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and all the outside areas clean and tidy. Recommend for sporting events. Toby carvery next door.
Fantastic experience: Great place, friendly staff, use the gym regularly. Recently went to a Bingo Loco event there, so much fun, lots of laughs, great music and atmosphere. Danced the night away and won an Air Fryer! Happy Days!
Fantastic experience: Big 25m pool that is well kept with a clean floor, good for swimming lengths. Nice location and not too busy
Fantastic experience: Staff very friendly and helpful, cafe staff delightful
Positive experience: Friendly and high quality Leisure Centre. Amazing Swiming Pool
Negative experience: Do NOT attend if you’re a person of colour. They made me and my sister leave the pool within 5 minutes because we were wearing modest swimwear. They said it was “inappropriate” despite other people wearing modest clothing too but we were the only ethnic people there. Honestly don’t waste your time coming here.. felt very unwelcome.
Negative experience: Baby pool was very cold. Looks nice and new with a lot on offer but let down by the baby/kids pool. It was very worn out already and it was very cold. My little one only lasted 10 minutes and had blue lips and shivering.
Positive experience: Was there to take part in health exhibition. Amazing place
Fantastic experience: very organized and clean but there is a gap in room number 2 where the front wall holds the balls when they fall there.
Negative experience: Have been going there for a while at the gym and classes and the quality of the infrastructure had declined. It's dirty and dump and often showers a cold. Few if us and complained but nothing changes. This is the women changing room this morning at 7am
Fantastic experience: An interesting shaped building with a lovely cafeteria. Very clean in all areas and has a lot of different activities offered. A large car park allows easy parking and it's in a great location. What a shame that a 50 m pool wasn't installed.
Negative experience: We used the swimming pool to introduce my 4 month old to swimming and although the pool was great with plenty of family changing facilities, the cleanliness of the changing rooms were a major concern. The nappy changing station was dirty as well as the bench and multiple nappy bins were overflowing with fecal matter on the lid. It was obvious the changing rooms had not been cleaned for some days which is surprising given how new the facility is.
Negative experience: Be wary of the sign up process. I signed up not having seen the gym and tried to cancel 3 days later and they won’t give me my money back and are ignoring my emails disputing this.
Fantastic experience: Purpose built centre extremely clean and well kept.
Positive experience: Went for comic con. Good venue. Encountered some unprofessional staff using foul language with children about. Manager/ supervisor clearly not interested.
Fantastic experience: I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new gym/pool. Walked in to view the facilities and was greeted by Julie who was enthusiastic and really friendly. She answered all my questions with a smile and her hospitality played a key part in me signing up to join the leisure centre! Furthermore, the gym is big and spacious with more than enough equipment you need to have a good training session. The pool has 10 lanes, which is ideal as you can get a lane to yourself. The cleanliness was also superb and all the staff I have interacted with so far, seem very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Just spent did aquarun and spent 2 hours in the pool, the pool was lovely and clean, as were the showers and changing rooms. The staff were all friendly and helpful and then we did the stay and play football. What amazing facilities , will definitely be spending a. Lot more time here.
Fantastic experience: Great new pool, quite busy on the weekends but worth going. Clean and has a great toddler pool
Negative experience: It would make sense to tell a customer upfront that facilities are not working before you charge them full price. I arrived to the centre yesterday and asked to use the sauna & steam room to which the lady at the reception booked me into at full price. When I went in to use the sauna & steam room I see that the steam room is out of order and the folks using the sauna say it’s been out of action for a while with no clear comms as to when it will be fixed (poor comms to paying customers). Upon leaving I decided to communicate my disappointment that the steam room was out of action and that I should have been told at the point I booked about this, the response I got from the same lady who booked me on was - “it’s all over our website” suggesting it was my fault/problem that I hadn’t looked on the website first (poor ownership & poor customer service). I wouldn’t have a problem if I booked on the website but I booked face-to-face – at the point I booked one of two things should have happened: 1. I am told about the steam room and I make a choice as to whether I use the service at full price or not (honest customer service) 2. I am told about the steam room and I am offered a discount to use what services are available (great customer service, love the honesty and flexibility in price) With the cost of living crisis hitting everyday folk it’s hard to even afford the little luxuries anymore but to then be taken for a fool by staff that should be looking after their customers is very poor. I appreciate the 50% refund (which I had to suggest and push for) but I think the staff at Braywick need better leadership and training in these circumstances. It is possible to turn a negative into a positive (as I’ve outlined above) but for some reason honest customer service and looking after your customers is not a priority for Braywick Park.
Positive experience: Reasonable enough gym and facilities including a pool. Equipment is generally in good condition. But the pricing is very annoying - you can’t just join the Maidenhead gym, you have to sign up to them all. So you pay extra to attend gyms you have no interest in joining. I live in Maidenhead - why would I want a gym in Windsor? Or one of the clearly lesser gyms in Maidenhead when Braywick exists?
Fantastic experience: Great pool, the facilities are very clean. I loved the Spa area.
Fantastic experience: Exceptional customer service from both Julie & Chris in memberships. Very friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable and informative. Great leisure centre.
Positive experience: Roller disco was extremely busy and not a spectator sport. Whilst my daughter & grandsons skated, I was left with the bags and the few chairs around the outside were too low to see over the barrier.
Negative experience: Don’t bother joining if you are hoping to do certain classes as you’ll never get booked on! Having to work like most people I cannot go to the gym during the day when there seems to be lots of availability. The morning classes during the week and the only Pilates class on the weekend are impossible to get booked into! I joined in January and have yet been able to do a cycle class before work! Wish I had never joined! See photo where booking opens at 6am for the following week and all the spaces are already gone?!!! And couldn’t have a swim on the weekend because of a swimming gala! Waste of money, never again!
Fantastic experience: Nice and clean, pool nice temperature and plenty of lifeguards who are always on the ball.
Fantastic experience: Really good place to take the kids lots to do we done the skateing it was really good
Positive experience: It's not cheap and the weekend opening hours are not great, howver the staff are lovely and its always clean
Positive experience: My daughter goes swimming here at the marlins and the lessons are great she gets lots of time in the pool. Some of the building looks a bit shabby now which is weird as is very new.
Fantastic experience: Lovely swimming pool. Clean and great facilities for kids.
Negative experience: Not great at all for a 3 year old new build. Website and booking have never worked right, from bugs where you get overcharged tickets to simply not working at all; staff not helpful with the above, presumably nothing they can do. In the pool area, half the things are already broken, there's rust falling down and dirt everywhere, definitely not cleaned to any decent standard. Changing rooms and showers are filthy, half the customers almost enter the pool with their shoes on, never seen staff enforce their no outdoor shoes rules. On top of it, every visit is also more expensive than the other leisure centres around it, clearly builders and operators milking the council and customers for all they've got. All in all, pretty shameful. Do better... more people need to boycott this and write to their council.
Fantastic experience: Great place and perfect toddler swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: I've come here several times to play badminton. Straightforward bookings and the courts are always clean.
Fantastic experience: Great place, easy parking, good equipement, good classes with excellent coaches. (i take spin classes)
Negative experience: Despite being a relatively new facility, this leisure centre opened recently under 1.5y ago, the tidiness of showers and changing facilities is awful. I use swimming pool and spa facilities regularly, and regularly i notice showers have not been washed throughout the day. There are hair everywhere in cubicles, mould in the corners of tiles, being in a shower cubicle i could feel a funky smell (i am sorry but it smelled like sweaty dirty genitals). I am fairly tolerant when it comes to smells, but dear god it was disgusting ... Any such facility must clean showers (at least lightly) several times a day. Also, people using spa take care of personal body hair hygiene in there. There were body shavers left in the steam room. This is just neanderthal behaviour, disgusting.
Positive experience: Nice park around the back and lots of parking, but not free
Negative experience: GYM Firstly, the machines in the gym are very old, which is fine since they are mostly functional, but there is a lot of unused space in the gym and space taken by forever broken running machines where additional/ newer machines could be placed. I spoke to some of the staff and they said a list of proposed new machines was shared with the management, but guess they are not interested in feedback from the gym users and the staff. If the gym was better arranged, it would make all the difference too - as an example the stretching/ matt area right behind the door where there is SO much unused space at the back of the gym with nice views is mind boggling. Speakers often crackle. The closing time over the weekend is very early, think staying open till at least 8 over the weekend would be more reasonable. Overall I would give the gym 3.5/5 just because the machine selection is much better than at PureGym or other horrible places. SAUNA/ WELLNESS AREA Every single time, either the hot or cold shower does not work, the changing area is disgusting to say the least, there is always horrible smell. I understand that the swimming area is for everyone including kids, but then make a separate changing area for wellness, which is for adults only! Not my idea of relaxation to be smelling vomit, urine or worse every single time. The opening times should be longer over the weekend - at least till 8pm. Rating of this area 2/5 Overall, this could be a great place if it was planed, used in a better way - such as separate areas for adults only (gym/ wellness/ squash) and then areas for kids/ families, but it's not thought through at all. Whoever designed the building with so much wasted space in the hallways and not thinking of who the different users will be, did an extremely poor job. Sadly the competion in Maidenhead is pretty much non existent so I guess there is no motivation to address these issues. PARKING The fact you are expected to pay for parking on top of the monthly membership is s joke 1/5. Exactly who else is the parking supposed to be for if not the members?!
Fantastic experience: It's a really good place for family activities. It also has wheelchair access as well. There are so many activities with child or for adults. Gym, swimming, yoga, belly dance (ur child can learn), football, and many more
Negative experience: £1-40 to park for 20 minutes - just to look round the place. No wonder there is "ample parking" !
Fantastic experience: Clean and welcoming. The viewing area for the swimming event we were there for is spacious enough but very warm.
Positive experience: Went for comic-con and had a great time. Lots of space and the cafe was pleasant enough.
Positive experience: Visited today for my 5 month old baby's first swim! We were very excited! Prince, the receptionist was very friendly and polite and booked us in. Unfortunately, when we arrived in the pool area we were told by the lifeguard that the children's pool wasn't actually open due to school swimming lessons. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. I spoke with a manager and explained we only wanted to use the baby section of the children's pool. The manager Jamie politely advised that they have to close this section when a school is in due to safeguarding which I do understand. The staff went out of there way to try and move the lanes over so a section of the adult pool could be cleared for us, rather than us have to be refunded and go home! (Getting a baby ready for swimming isn't easy!) In the end we were able to use the baby pool as the swimming lessons were coming to an end and I appreciate everything the staff did to accommodate us. The reason I am only giving 4 stars is it might be worth considering sectioning off half of the children's pool considering only 3 school children were actually using it at the time (the rest were using the lanes!) and then you will still be able to accommodate other visitors with children? Can't quite understand how the adult pool can be sectioned off to accommodate lessons but not the children's pool? Secondly, I hope the receptionist did not get in trouble for letting us in by accident. I have used (well attempted to use) the online booking system on a number of occasions and it's a mess! Its actually quite difficult to work out exactly what you're booking when you use it! I assume the system the receptionists use is similar? If so, I don't think he can be blamed for a system that needs some tidying up! Anyway, regardless of the booking error Prince was a very courteous member of staff and it was lovely to be served by him today! Thank you again to your staff for the time they spent on us today and allowing us in the baby pool to swim. My baby loved it and we will be returning (at a correct time!!)
Fantastic experience: The place is big clean and the pool and other facility are brilliant. More expensive than other pools but def worth the price
Negative experience: Very friendly staff at reception. However that's about as good as it gets. The spa I cannot remember a time when everything was working in this area.... find another centre if I was you...
Fantastic experience: Sampriti, was an amazing ambassador for Braywick, showing me around with a great knowledge, positive attitude all delivered with a fun outlook, very impressed and definitely recommend speaking to her about a membership
Fantastic experience: Went to the roller disco. First time since the magnet closed. Kids loved it and was pleased to see I wasn't the only older person there who could skate! Felt like I was in a time warp as they seemed to stop be playing the same music from when I was a child . The kids (and me) will sleep well tonight .
Negative experience: Disappointing Experience at Braywick Leisure Center Swimming Session My recent visit to Braywick Leisure Center for a swimming session left me extremely disappointed. I had booked a late-night swimming lane session with the hope of enjoying a peaceful swim and improving my skills. However, my experience took an unexpected turn. During my swim, a lifeguard approached me and asked me to leave the pool, claiming that I was not capable of swimming in a complete circle, especially at the beginning of my session. As a beginner, I was swimming slowly and using a kickboard for training purposes, which is quite common. Safety signs on the wall clearly indicate that weak swimmers should not cross a certain point, and I followed these instructions carefully. What surprised me was that I was asked to leave during a super off-peak time, without causing any disruption to other swimmers. What added to my frustration was the fact that I had observed others swimming similarly on previous occasions without being asked to leave. I did raise my concerns with the lifeguard manager, but the conversation concluded with a series of questions that felt somewhat off. Instead of addressing my concerns directly, I was asked: 1. Which lane were you in for training? 2. Can you recall the exact words the lifeguard used that you found offensive or rude, and do you have any evidence or witnesses? 3. The manager's solution was to suggest booking another swimming session for fun instead of training purposes or recommending swimming instructors. I believe that Braywick's management team should prioritize customer experience and engagement. Instead of sorting customer complaints by these questions.
Positive experience: We signed up for a year, initially all good. In the last couple of months standards have dropped - some gym machines are out of order for weeks, hygiene standards in the swimming changing rooms are diabolical- parents walking in with dirty footwear then hanging around waiting for their kids, some cubicles smells of urine, dirty nappies not binned. Spa area - under age kids walking in with the parents to use the facilities. Some of the young staff are not enforcing the the rules within the leisure centre they really need to step up and be proud of working there. Originally I gave it 5 Stars but now it deserves a 3 Stars.
Positive experience: Took kids rollerskating to the mini roller disco they are holding on Friday afternoons over the summer holidays. Place is clean and well kept. Receptionist was lovely and helpful. Room was air-conditioned. Parking isn't as cheap as other leisure centres, but there was plenty of spaces.
Fantastic experience: Good venue for activities, especially for badminton courts. Good flooring and lighting.
Fantastic experience: Good facilities, easy parking, pleasant cafe, friendly staff
Negative experience: Bad customer service and not safe!!! According to the management there are no where safe inside the whole building to leave your valued things even inside the lockers . Despite its been 3 reported stolen locked cupboards they failed to do anything about it so far ! They refused to let me look att cctv and they even failed to put sign to warn people that there are theft happening for 2 weeks now ! After i asked to borrow a new badlock she said no cos she doesn't want responsibility and I can't leave it at the reception neither, so if you going swimming or to health suite leave your phone at home cos those people can't protect them.
Positive experience: Nice and clean area. Good coffee shop. Parking is paid and display, if you are regular then better buy monthly pass.
Fantastic experience: A large modern new public sports center, with ample parking. Surrounded by a wild garden which is good for butterflies and other pollinators. Have a walk through the nature reserve and see how many you can spot.
Positive experience: The pool is excellent and the receptionist' s are very polite , friendly and helpful, but the rules aren't enforced eg:- beyond a certain point in the swimming pool area, you don't wear outside shoes, and overshoe covers are provided, but most people and children ignore this. Who knows what they have trodden in or on. A small sign was once put in place only one person looked at it whilst I was there. every one else ignored it,
Positive experience: Excellent fitness center to engage, relax, and grow your muscles . They have variety of sports options both outdoors and indoors. Parking space is not a concern here. The facility is modern and well maintained. It is difficult to get a slot booked in primetime.
Positive experience: Great leisure centre, apart from having the lock on my locker forced open twice whilst swimming at lunchtimes. Luckily I don't leave valuables in the lockers!
Positive experience: Amazing leisure centre.pity they don't do a membership that doesn't involve the gym & swimming. I'm only interested in badminton, Table tennis, short tennis & tennis and can only book 3days in advance meaning prime times are fully booked.
Negative experience: Maidenhead is my home town, we visit every now and again as we no longer live in Maidenhead. The kids love it - but guys, the place wasn’t clean today. The changing rooms were gross - I really don’t think we should be trying to find the *least manky* of the changing booths.. and we all (well, most of us) know that smell of nappies coming from the bins in the family changing rooms. It was gross. And wasn’t just nose-able from near the family booths - this was smelt half the building away from them when we moved. I didn’t want to walk on the floors. Patches of mank everywhere. There really needs to be someone walking around cleaning during the day. Same goes for the toilets. You have signs up asking people to shower for hygiene before entering the pool - yet we’re treading all that mank in to the pool.. There appear to have been staff around - someone could have been cleaning?? - it’s a really nice centre - already showing signs of neglect. We will of course return - it’s a good pool to come to with the kids
Fantastic experience: Great fitness gym with views over the car park and greenery. Lots of parking and additional facilities onside.
Fantastic experience: Lovely leisure centre. Great staff that is very helpful and takes good care of you. Facilities are clean and we'll maintained. Let's hope it stays that way. Love the pool. Very relaxing for a swim
Negative experience: Rude gym manager called Michelle- never seen someone treat others with such little respect. Only 2 star because all other staff here are extremely friendly. Will be moving to Pure Gym.
Negative experience: They could have done so much with this space, instead there is a large “empty” space downstairs and instead of making the floor above complete there is an entire wasted space upstairs. The swimming pool is ok, not as much fun for little ones as it could have been, eg Windsor Lesiure centre. The gym is shockingly small. I have never been into one so small. It is simply one long strip, one end with weights and the other cramped with a lot of cardio equipment. Looking at any of the other gyms in Maidenhead/Windsor this one simply does not deserve the price they charge.
Positive experience: Overall, I find the facility to be modern and pleasant. However, I have encountered some challenges with the class booking system that I believe need improvement. One of the primary issues I've faced is the difficulty in booking classes. When I initially purchased a one-year membership, I was not aware of the booking process and the limitations it presents. I enjoy practising yoga, but I find it inconvenient to wake up at 6am in order to secure a spot in my favourite classes one week in advance. It would be more convenient for members if the booking process could be made simpler or more flexible. Additionally, I have found that there are instances where I wake up early for my 9am class only to realize that I am unable to attend due to various unforeseen circumstances. This situation is frustrating, especially considering the effort I put into reserving the class in advance. Moreover, the requirement to pay a fine of £4 for missing a class adds further dissatisfaction to the experience. It would be helpful if there were more lenient policies in place for such situations or alternative options to avoid penalties for occasional absences. Another aspect that I find lacking in the current system is the absence of a waiting list feature within the app. Without a waiting list, it becomes challenging for members to join a class they desire if it is fully booked. Implementing a waiting list functionality would greatly improve the user experience and provide a fair chance for individuals to attend their preferred classes, even if the initial availability is limited. In conclusion, while I appreciate the modernity and overall atmosphere of your leisure centre, the issues I have mentioned regarding the class booking process and the lack of a waiting list feature have significantly impacted my satisfaction as a member.
Positive experience: Great leisure club.. but.. I was there for a swimming gala and the viewing gallery was hot.. Best bet is shorts and a vest.. Next time.
Positive experience: Nice place with ample parking. Pool is nice and clean. There's a Toby Carvery right next door so you can put on double the calories that you burn on your workout :D The only real letdown is the extortionate parking fees - and there's no subsidies when using the facilities as there were with the old Magnet center that this replaces. Toby Carvery can manage to provide free parking but this place can't.
Fantastic experience: Awesome leisure centre with fantastic facilities. A newly built and well maintained setups. Staffs are also very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Great facility - having recently moved to the area this facility, in particular the swimming pool, has been fantastic for my family and I. The pool and changing area are clean and spacious. Only slight negative, there could be more family changing rooms.
Fantastic experience: Easy to book swiming family leasure session on weekend. Very clean swimming pool and around areas, shower and changing rooms, free hair dryers.Nice music in the pool. You need padlock for the locker to keep your things safe, its 4 pounds you can buy from front reception but if you have you can bring your own. You need to pay for parking your car, 2.90 if you Park for 2 hours. Enjoy.
Fantastic experience: I take my family swimming here, my son does swimming lessons, and we even had a birthday part here booking out the Inflatable Pirate Galleon /Under the Sea. Changing rooms are clean. parking outside is charged and it has some electric charging stations too. The Café I ok. Parkrun happens out the back of the centre amongst the Braywick nature reserve.
Negative experience: Gym has condensation issues meaning the few variety of machines they have are often not useable. It also gets very busy at peak times. Car park is set up using ringgo however instead of just paying for 1 hour, you have to set up an open booking meaning you have to remember to cancel it again, resulting in me forgetting and getting a text at 9pm to say my parking has ended and i have to pay £11. Partly my fault, but i also think its set up to catch people out. Whenever a system is made to catch people i get very annoyed. Fix these and it would be 4 stars.
Positive experience: Just popped here to charge the car... But to no avail... Plugged into chargers and no juice came out. That was disappointing... Especially as it's a right old trek to get in the car park over speed hump city!
