Negative experience: I would give 0 if i could ! Do not come here! If you are a woman! creepy man keep recording me and i have already reported it to the management and "Safe-space". The management staff hasn't done nothing about it neither did the safe space team. Especially the fact it's woman manager named Melissa i thought i will feel comfortable to talk with her but she didnt care and just swept everything under the carpet. On the other note the music one of the worst things, i have heard all my life. Monotonous repetitive and extremely loud. Just imagine it's like listening to that video game music pac-man on repeat for half an hour!

Negative experience: Decent enough gym, but not fair when staff (not on duty) blare their own niche music choices (high school musical) at exceptionally loud volumes on the gym PA so you can't hear your own.

Fantastic experience: Great timetable of classes, clean and well kept facilities, wonder staff giving a great community feel. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: The Travelling Gym Tour continues. Dead easy to sign up for through the app, decent rates for day passes or short term membership, and they’ve got all the usual kit. Particularly impressed that the cardio machines and free weights are in really good condition, some of them look just like new. Does exactly what it says on the tin, very happy customer!

Positive experience: It’s a safe and fun place to train. I didn’t give it 5* as I’m annoyed ( first world problem) that I cannot get as much flavoured drinks as I want (there is a timer on the hydration station) . I pay for the full membership! Too much ask?

Negative experience: Just had a parking fine through the post for attending the gym.

Negative experience: One of the reasons I have pure gym membership is so I can use gyms nationwide, however this gym isn't included for some reason.

Fantastic experience: New back to exercise 8 weeks postpartum. So far have done classes with Pip and Ciara and loved both! Both girls had really good energy. It was a bit daunting for me to get back in the gym after such a long time but the girls were amazing. Made me feel so comfortable and I felt like I got a lot out of the classes!

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for a year. Fantastic extensive gym facilities with no waiting required for machines / weights. The classes are free and you can see real progress in your strength and fitness if you stick to them regularly. Kyle and Mel are excellent instructors. Met Con and Bootcamp classes are great.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member since it opened in September 22. For me the classes are fab. There is a good variety and the class schedule is such that I am able to attend my favourite classes of Body Combat and Body Pump at least twice a week. All classes are good and every instructor works hard to motivate the class with different exercise's. Mel’s classes are my preferred choice. The well thought out choreography and high energy that Mel puts into all her classes make them great fun and motivating! I had been away from gym and classes for about 3 months and on returning to combat last week, I was a little anxious as to if I’d get through the 45 min class, however from the start it was such good fun, I loved every minute and put a great big smile back on my face. Thank you to Mel and the team for a great place to train and have fun at the same time. ☺️

Fantastic experience: This is a very decent size gym with lots of great and up to date equipment, the personal trainers are great and are always willing to help!

Negative experience: Don't believe pure gym, 365 days a year is a lie, I visited 5 on Christmas day, all shut. Came here boxing day to discover my national membership doesn't cover here along with many others

Negative experience: £1200 for 5 parking notices in my 1st week. Avoid, Puregym won't help you to cancel the notices Many years have passed and customers still pay hundreds of pounds every day for parking. They cannot solve this problem, and on the website they have information that parking is free. It is clear that they are happy with it. Naturally, I changed the gym to one with free parking.

Fantastic experience: It’s an incredible place to play sport

Fantastic experience: Nice gym. Helpful staff. Can get bizzy at peak hours. Lots of running,bike, row machines, and two power stairs. Good range of weight machines or free weights. Nice area or stretching, etc. Lots of classes included in membership. Nice clean changing rooms with lots of room. I don't like the showers a little to open for my liking. The app is very helpful. This gym is well worth the money. Look out for promotion code on social media.

Fantastic experience: Great space with great equipment, lovely staff and it's always clean

Positive experience: The equipment is great. My complaint is with hygiene. There is not one sign up in the gym to ask people to wipe down machines after use. Only blue roll available is in the studio, which is not practical when a class is on. I have never been to a gym where this is the case. Even if you are asked to bring your own towel you provide spray and signage to make sure people, wipe down after themselves. The state of sweat on machines is not acceptable and so un hygienic. I’ve emailed pure gym three times and no response. Just an automated service. The personal touch is missing, which is such a shame. The attached picture is a stepper I went to use, how can this be ok?

Positive experience: Great to see a 24 hour gym in Portishead. Changing room are a good size and theres a good range of equipment. It does feel a bit cramped in the free weights section, and only 1 dedicated bench press station. The showers feel like the temperature has been turned down noticeably. Cost of rising energy I guess, but Id personally rather my membership went up to compensate the cost instead of reducing the experience/facilities. Overall a good gym

Fantastic experience: The gym has great facilities and is nicely laid out. It has a variation of gym equipment and has great changing room facilities with plenty of lockers. The best part of the gym is the staff. Specifically Melissa who is the gym manager. She really goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and helps you to progress to your goals. The cleanliness of the gym is great and you can often see staff on a regular basis conducting thorough cleans of the equipment. I don't often find the gym environment comfortable, however, this gym makes you feel at ease. The staff often check on your welfare and ensure that everyone is being treated with respect!

Positive experience: Since this gym was opened I was moving here from Weston super Mare Pure gym because is more close to my house. It's a new gym, everything is working fine by now. Staff always helpful. The gym is clean and tidy and looks amazing. I couldn't give 5 stars because comparing with the gym in Weston here seems to have less machines. Only one bench for Z bar, only one fly pec, one chest press. Would need one machine with plates for chest as well, for sure I missed that from Weston Pure Gym. For this kind of gym I would expect to have more options regarding machines for workout. For sure it will help when gym has crowded moments as well. Besides this few mentions everything all good and hope to see new machines as well

Negative experience: It's a decent enough gym. I travel a lot so having the option of access to multiple gyms and 24hr access has always been the biggest selling point for Puregym. Unfortunately almost every time I've gone, there have been a couple of machines out of order, which doesn't bode well for a gym that's only been open a month but this could be down to user error and they are usually fixed quickly The "special promotion" during opening also seemed deliberately misleading. Puregym is currently running a £0 joining fee promotion, but during its opening the Portishead branch ran a "discount" of £4.99 off a month for the first 3 months, with the catch that you had to pay a £15 joining fee... And the £0 joining fee can't apply while the "special promotion" was running. It doesn't take a genius to see that saving 5 pound for 3 months but paying £15 means you didn't actually save anything at all and you'd have actually been better off not running the promotion and just waiving the joining fee as normal. It also negated the 10% year round offer from Perkbox, so all in all through poor admin ended up costing significantly more than if they'd just cut out the fad marketing Why have a studio if you're going to hold classes out in the main area? Blasting the music for the class over the top of the main speakers, meaning I couldn't hear my own headphones. One set of those speakers didn't need to be playing and neither needed to be at that volume. Really disruptive and I just left during my warm up

Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym and the price is amazing compared to other gym’s. Very clean and lots of heavy weights to choose from! Really happy that i’ve signed up. Thank you for the great gym Pure Gym!

Fantastic experience: We finally have a proper gym in Portishead! It's clean and well-located with excellent equipment. Staff are friendly and everyone seems to be happy using the gym. Also, I'm paying half the price of my Parish Wharf membership!

Fantastic experience: A welcome addition to Portishead! Fantastic floor space, every type of equipment you can imagine, with great vibes and helpful staff. They're 24 hour so no struggling to get a workout in at weekends (unlike some other local places... No names mentioned!) The changing facilities are clean and fresh, and all for a very reasonable monthly cost - with no tricky contracts. Love it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
