Negative experience: Awful. I just paid £12 for daily pass to discover that there are no working lockers. all are completely broken. Also to get in you need to fit into tiny cabin that might be a good option for a kid or a skinny girl but not a normal man. Also the app said it’s 25% full - as for me the place is completely overcrowded

Positive experience: So old you feel like u in hospital

Positive experience: Good value and large range of equipment. I use it when I need a day pass. The main issue is the foul hygiene of so many visitors - showering, deodorant, trainers without fungus and it not being ok to throw your dirty laundry on the gym floor (yes really) are not familiar concepts it seems. Also no cleaning sprays so take your own and put your clothes straight in a hot wash as months of used bodies will have come into contact with your clothes.

Negative experience: They will tell you you can just cancel your membership by cancelling the direct debit, then will keep on trying to charge you fees pretending you're not paying for the membership. The links in the email to pay the fees do not work. Avoid. Scammers. EDIT: The contact form on the website also does not work - clicking the 'submit' button doesn't do anything.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars to the gym but most importantly to personal trainer, Mica. She always goes above and beyond both within and outside of sessions. I had never trained with a personal trainer before and she made me feel very comfortable and tailored every sessions to fit my abilities as well as my goals. Thank you as always!

Negative experience: I am surprised to see the number of good reviews this gym has. The only thing this gym has going on for itself is the price. - there are no cleaning sprays anywhere in the gym. I asked a staff member and he didn’t even try to find some. - Other members are rude. They keep occupying equipment they are not using. - Despite coming after 8 pm, there is still a wait for racks.

Fantastic experience: Very convenient and affordable gym. Would recommend Razz as a friendly and knowledgable personal trainer for anyone looking to build muscle. Only thing to improve in the gym would be the terrible wifi!

Negative experience: As someone who travels a lot a I initially liked the no contract approach and being able to rejoin for the months that I am in the UK. After believing I cancelled this before the renewal date via the app (I remember selecting ‘Location no longer works’), I was surprised to find it automatically renewed a week later. It turns out I needed to cancel my direct debit with my bank in order to cancel - the messaging for this I must have missed. However, why isn't the cancelation handled on their side via a request via the app? why were there no e-mail or text message reminder notifications a few days before about the renewal as most subscriptions do? I contacted support to request cancelation and a refund (I had not used the gym since the renewal date as I wasn't in the area) but was told because of the membership agreement they would not. I feel this is in poor faith to an otherwise loyal member who would have been happy to use their gyms again. They would have got the same money in future anyway when I would have rejoined. Instead they chose the lose-lose scenario. I also feel the cancelation process is designed to be convoluted in order to catch people out as I have been, based on the UX/UI of the cancelation process in the app followed by the customer support strategy once in the net. For me the way businesses treat their loyal customers is equally important as the quality of the product they are pushing.

Danny has been particularly helpful and is always happy to assist. The facilities have always been clean and well-maintained. This will continue to be my go-to gym and I would recommend to others!

Fantastic experience: This is gym is by far the most convenient & good for value place i have ever been. I have been coming here for more than a year and I’m still impressed with the trainers, the classes and the quality of the gym equipments. The classes are easy to book and so good. I have been attending the stretch class run by Razz , a trainer who has encouraged me to reach my fitness goals. Staff are always accommodating and approachable. Overall, if you are looking for a gym to start your fitness journey, this is a place to go!

The staff and gym goers are friendly as well. The gym itself is pretty well maintained also ( I miss the antibacterial wipes for the stretch mats though). Over all highly recommend :)

Negative experience: Classes get cancelled ALL THE TIME but no warning or advance notification is given! Has happened 4 times now in the last few months. REALLY ANNOYING wasting people’s time getting there - yes I can do my own thing but came for HYROX

Negative experience: My brother gave me a guest pass from his premium account. It didn't work. He wasted another 2 passes. This happened on 18/03 at 12:40 am if you'd like to check CCTV. Wasted a trip to the gym and 20 mins trying to get in... Disappointing.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional behavior I experienced at The Gym Ltd's West Hampstead branch. As a disabled individual with specific health needs, I rely on accessible facilities for my well-being. However, my recent encounter with one of the staff members, Ms. Mica Nicols, was unacceptable. During a visit on February 27th, 2024, I utilised the disabled toilet due to the unavailability of other facilities. Following my use, Ms. Nicols approached me in a confrontational and derogatory manner, loudly questioning my choice of facility without providing any legitimate reason. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but also discriminatory, undermining my rights as a member and causing me significant distress. Despite my attempts to address the issue, the branch manager was unavailable and inquiries were ignored. This lack of accountability only adds to the frustration of an already distressing situation. I urge The Gym Ltd to take immediate action to address this matter, including disciplinary measures against Ms. Nicols and comprehensive staff training on disability awareness and professionalism. As a member, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity, and I hope that The Gym Ltd will take steps to ensure that incidents like these do not recur in the future. In light of this experience, I cannot recommend The Gym Ltd's West Hampstead branch to others.

Fantastic experience: The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming, and the equipment surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend this establishment for its outstanding customer service and top-notch equipment.

Negative experience: They offer specific deals, then overrule them, taking extra money from user accounts monthly; i.e. they change contract pricing without consent. Upon querying, one might be met with excuses such as "we don't hold T&C for each customer as we didn't have provision for that at the time" or "the member of staff who confirmed the deal made a mistake" or "you misunderstood the offer". This is corrupt and this is fraud - stay well away from this organisation. Edit: they also broke the Direct Debit protocols; when they falsely increased my fee, they didn't inform me and the original DD agreement made no mention of a price increase. My bank and BACS have verified this is a breach but the bank asked me to liaise further with The Gym Group. My next step is likely contacting head office.

Negative experience: Gym smell like piss at the entrance, and they don’t clean the toilet (men toilet) seen it like this for a month. And the gym is smaller than it looks in the pictures, so make sure you check it before you start your membership

Negative experience: Been a member for a while. It’s below ground level, so super claustrophobic. I can only go on weekends and after work, but it’s getting more and more packed in the evenings, hard to find space to workout. When you do find the space, the air in there is just heavy, maybe needs better ventilation. The price keeps increasing. £30 per month just doesn’t seem fair or deserving for the amount of times I can use whatever machines I want. It was my first choice as it’s closest to my home but if I’m going to spend £30 a month, I’d rather take a bus to go to a gym that’s more airy, have more space/equipment to serve to the gym-goers and doesn’t close every 3 months for maintenance and doesn’t refund your money for the time lost while they’re doing the maintenance. (Meaning you still pay for however long they’re closed for) I was offered another branch, but again, we may not be able to regulate our schedules to travel to a different branch just because you decide to close up every few months. Not worth it. Better gyms out there for the price.
