Fantastic experience: I have used this leisure centre for a while now and have had a lovely experience each time with my children. Friendly, helpful staff and clean facilities throughout. Today was incredible and a special thanks to Ella for helping my father in law with his needs in the pool. She was patient, helpful and gave her time and advice happily. We'll definitely be back.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible. I am fuming. The fools said they would open the skatepark in 30 minutes and 2 hours later they still wont open it. Travelled 1 hour to get here and they took the piss out of me. Ridiculously terrible staff.we went to get a drink and the women stared at me the whole way through and says what do you want now!

Positive experience: Membership here, plenty of gym machines. Unfortunately never know if lane of pool or end of pool is closed for other events.

Positive experience: Same great place as always but with some big changes. Has had a big gym renovation with added machines and rooms for all types of classes. Everything is reasonably priced and the food in the cafe is pretty good two swimming pools big and small with the big pool having an adjustable floor.

Fantastic experience: Is a complete leisure centre that boasts of a playground for kids, a tennis court, a squash court, a five-a- sides pitch, a gym, a swimming pool(s) and offices. I use the gym and they have all the facilities that I need to keep fit. The only challenge is that they are not open 24hrs.

Fantastic experience: Swimming with granddaughter. Remained in small pool. Water a little cold bearing in mind temperature outside is now dropping. However we had lots of fun. Plenty of floating toys to play with. Toilets and cubicles clean. Enjoyed the music from an aqua fitness group in large pool. Is there a facility to play some ambient music for the duration of pool opening times ..... that would be nice!

Fantastic experience: Attended a yoga class. Good attendance. Staff very helpful. Used library whilst there. Plenty of choice.

Positive experience: Gym facilities are 5/5. At least 2 of every resistance machine, about a dozen cycling AND walking machines. Food range could use a little work for an exercise related venue. 90% of the menu is sandwiches, baguettes or toast. Swimming pool is 3/5, kiddy pool & sloping floor to deeper area in the main pool, but furthest thing from an 'aqua park'.

Positive experience: Nice place and always clean (the best to the staff abilities as it’s always busy and lots of mess being created) The staff are all lovely apart from one person in the cafe. They could probably do with some training as they are quite rude.

Positive experience: A fabulous reasonably priced and well staffed leisure centre. Staff are professional and courteous and a very well resourced recently extended gym is available at competitive rates. The pools are good, if a little "cool" since utility bills increased. The Sports Hall, Library and Customers Services are all well-managed. My reason to attend is the thrice weekly Soft Play sessions for Babies to 5 year olds. Open Monday, Wed and Friday 10.00am till 12.00, at a cost of £3.80 per child, is fantastic value and my granddaughter loves it. It has given her confidence, balance and social opportunities much needed for a child born in the first lockdown (2020). My fifth star would be the addition of other classes for 2 to 4 years old e.g. gym, dance or trampoline.

Positive experience: Lovely place, staff are friendly and helpful. Inflatable swim sessions are well organised and good value for children. The cafe is clean, food is basic but tasty, prices are ok but I'd expect them to be a bit cheaper.

Fantastic experience: This leisure centre has been recently refurbished. The staff are.warn, friendly and welcoming. The swimming baths / facilities are spotless and well kept. At key times it can get crowded. The cafe is ideal for a drink and a quick bite but cheap with excellent seating and tables. I would recommend it to anyone.

Positive experience: Expensive fun. (£4.90 for swimming (50 min) + £4.20 bus ticket). Pool up to 1.95 m deep, providing some space for swimmers. And kids diving and having fun. Large changing cubicles. Shoe changing area at the entrance, with hairdryers. Lockers too small for winter coats or boots. No nude shower. No cold shower. Some hot shower heads run all day. Above average for a British public pool.

Positive experience: Great gym and great classes especially for me who isn't usually a gym goer. A shame one of the women on reception is very rude but everyone else seems lovely

Positive experience: Dance competition at short notice as regular venue was unable to do it.. It was a very hot day & they did their best at cooling the hall down. The pool looked lovely. The only issue we had was parking but with the amount of dancers & regular users it was to be expected..

Positive experience: The place looks nice & clean the staff seem friendly & always willing to help we brought our little Granddaughter here for her swimming lessons every Friday it would of been 5 stars but still cannot believe they haven't done anything about the showers for afterwards been regulated too hot its not all of them just some so parents are always careful which ones they use & warned my wife as she has not had to take the Granddaughter in them as its normally my daughter.

Positive experience: Swimming with my 2 boys 10 and 1 Lovely sized pools very nice and warm in the childrens pool plenty of space. We have visited other swimming pools this one for my 10 year old isnt the best yes its good for swimming but no slides kids fun ect which alot of pools do include now. We will use again as its in our area but could be improved

Positive experience: They run Les Mills classes and the instructors are great I’d give 5 stars but there are no steam rooms or saunas which is a shame.

Positive experience: Haven't been for a while. Used the pool with visiting grandchildren. Reception staff still unhelpful and nearly rude. Changing area clean and in good order. Ridiculous rule about removing shoes before entering the changing room although we seemed to be the only people abiding by it everyone else kept their shoes on and socks dry.

Positive experience: Booking on to adult swimming lesson are diabolical. Email after email requesting to be put on the waiting list, to be informed my name was never put on the list.(after speaking to other members of the public at Woodford swimming baths, I and other mums attend their Woodford baby swim class- the mums have also had the same issues regarding Haltemprice customer service ) the Customer service side of the business is atrocious but I am eventually having swimming lessons by Sue, who is an amazing instructor, she is a credit to haltemprice. Just a real shame of the hoops you have to go through to get on the waiting list.

Positive experience: Nice leisure centre although Swimming can be a bit of a chore, with half the pool closed for swimming lessons , Leaving little room for swimmers . Weve used this pool for many years, but we finally changed to elsewhere as some days if there isn't a swimmers lane, you struggle to get 1 length in . Our mum had swimming lessons beginning of year, hoping to learn to swim for her holidays, an the instructor was pretty bad . He needs reviewing. Regarding the cafe, a few times the food hasn't been to standard , Eg: jacket potato not cooked. A hair in my scrambled egg. The portion size of the child's pasta was minuscule which would be acceptable if the price was £1 . But it was no different to adult prices , burnt toast etc. Two of the reception staff can be snappy an not very accommodating. Why work with the public if you carnt be friendly .

Positive experience: Swimming pool gets very busy. No swimming membership available for regular user. Have to purchase full gym membership even if you don't intend using gym

Negative experience: Terrible place rammed full of children in the entrance and children on bikes and scooters littered around the car park and roads. Also expensive and in poor condition

Positive experience: Went for a swim & lunch. The changing area was clean, but a few of the lockers were out of order. Had a baked potato for lunch, and it was enjoyable.

Positive experience: Cafe is the slowest serving cafe in the world.... Its painfully sloth like. And adults can never swim in the pool, its constantly swim lessons. Gym is good, classes are good and staff are friendly .

Fantastic experience: We took out daughters to the SEN swimming session hosted by Maxi Fun Club on Friday night. Loved it. The place is clean, staff are friendly. Goggles are a little expensive compared to elsewhere for the same product but all in all, we'll be back for sure.

Fantastic experience: Joined the library this afternoon. Very helpful staff made the process extremely easy for my son and I. Look forward to using the library and other services in the months ahead. Fantastic facility

Fantastic experience: Everything you need under one roof. Swimming, large pool and never too full. The gym, very spacious lots of equipment. The library which has little clubs. Reading clubs for adults, lego club for kids. The cafe is lovely, fairly expensive for a cafe bur very tasty food. All staff are friendly and helpful. I go often to the soft play they hold. Brilliant complex.

Fantastic experience: Not been swimming in a long time, came with my daughter and we had a nice time together. The pools are the same as they've always been even when I used to come as a child. But they're maintained well and it is a nice clean area both in the pool a a the changing area.

Negative experience: Our child has been doing swimming lessons and started off fantastic with his first 2 instructors, unfortunaly his new instructor is not as good, Katie and John were great with the kids and really engaging, but I have definitely noticed a downturn since John left in the progression my child is making with his next instructor.

Negative experience: Swimming changing area always has a dirty floor, would take 5 minutes to swill it down like other leisure centres do. Blue covers are provided but few use them. On entrance to the pool there's a green drain below where people hang towels. Pool smells like a toilet during school lesson times.

Fantastic experience: I think that Haltemprice is a wonderful place, so much for people to do. It is very clean the staff are always helpful. I am doing a course on getting fit for surgery. My instructor is Lewis who has been very professional, kind and reassuring. Nothing is too much trouble for him. I would definitely recommend the gym it has the most amazing selection of gym equipment and very knowledgeable and friendly staff. My thanks to you all.

Fantastic experience: Went to customer services to renew blue card for a relative. Staff were caring, helpful and had a sense of humour. Saw me promptly when we were a bit early and very efficient.

Negative experience: Disgusting tel service 20 mons getying yhrough then when I did the operator stated I was at the control center and then said she would put me through and switched me through and I was put to the number I originally dialed and I had to start all over again disgusting gave up, Do not ring this place its all about going on line

Fantastic experience: Recently extended and refurbished gym, the centre is a hub with library, GP surgery and ERYC customer services

Positive experience: Great place to bring kids swimming with a smaller pool for those not as confident and a bigger pool that usually has lanes blocked off for those doing lengths not leisure swimming. Also has a cafe and library which are worth checking out too.

Positive experience: Firstly the centre is very, very clean and should be complimented on achieving this level of cleanliness on a daily basis. The reception staff, In a morning, are friendly, welcoming and approachable, nothing is too much trouble for them. I would also compliment the poolside lifeguards, who are also very good. Unfortunately, now for my complaints. Once again the swimmers who lane swim between 7.00am and 9.00am are having to manage their swim in 2 lanes rather than 3 lanes, which does not workfor any of the swimmers in the morning. There is one lane taken, again, for another training course for new lifeguards, trainee fire service people or some other group. I accept that it is hard to accommodate such training courses in a busy centre, but my complaint is why is it always the morning people who suffer. Is it because it is usually members, who swim in the morning and they will pay their monthly subscription regardless, as they will continue to use the centre after the training week, I hope not. My second complaint is the refusal to open the pool earlier than the current 7.00am start, in line with Beverley, for instance, where it works very well, and allows swimmers a quieter early swim. As a member I do not feel valued at all, as a regular swimmer and customer.

Negative experience: I was sat in the cafe with two children when three young school girls enters the cafe, that seemed very friendly and nice. They were wondering what to order when one of the girls said she was thirsty and so her friends suggested asking for a glass of tap water. The girl who was thirsty went to sit down and the girls ordering asked for a rocky road and a glass of tap water and the lady refused to give them the tap water.? Anyway they went to sit down and the girl who was thirsty said she would go and ask. The lady’s response was “Who are you with?” To which the girl replied “My friends,” and again the lady refused to give them it. After that the girls left. Shocking and appalling to refuse to give young girls a glass of tap water….

Fantastic experience: Good place for a kids party. They take care of everything inc. the food etc, and the kids get to go feral for a couple of hours. The bouncy castle being particularly popular

Fantastic experience: Lovely deep pool, plenty of space to swim even with school lessons taking place..lovely and quiet and all staff I interacted with were polite

Negative experience: Waited around 4-6 months on a waiting list for lessons, upon which after a few rounds I was not informed of when to re book (usually I had received a text) and therefore ended up by the side of the pool with my child in full swim get up unable to have lessons as the place was given to somebody else. I was told this information on when to renew was on a paper my child was handed, which I have checked and it was not. A simple text reminder before removing my child would surely have solved this problem and saved my child the upset.

Positive experience: Called in for a coffee in the very bright cafe. Very good so well worth a visit and reasonably priced

Fantastic experience: Since the renovations the gym is much bigger and has a major amount of equipment. People of all ages, shapes and sizes go here so it's superb to see not everyone looks like Arnold shwizzlewrapper in a vest haha. Everyone I've spoken to upto now has been great, everyone's very friendly and they clean each machine after use behind them. Real decent place

Fantastic experience: A big thank you to Lilly and Kirsty yesterday for a fantastic soft play and bouncy castle party, my son and all his little friends had a great time and really enjoyed the games yoi did at the end. Both girls was very organised and helped the party to go smoothly, not forgetting their exceptional cake cutting skills!! Thank you.

Positive experience: Great place over the years, but never enough staff on the front desk. Staff always trying to cater for phone customers booking swimming or gym lessons leaving people stood waiting to be served for everyday. Not streamlined enough!

Positive experience: It's a great sports venue. Recently started going swimming again here. We go here because the pool was 3m deep only to discover that it now has a variable depth floor that takes up most of a meter for the adjustable workings. Still worth passing 3 other swimming pools to swim though. On the plus side there has been some positive changes to the rest of the sports centre. The man pool does seem to have a lot of small bits from flotation devices. Staff are friendly, polite and well presented. The pool changing rooms used to be washed down with a hosepipe qite regular, now it's no outside footwear past the entry to the changing rooms. Be prepared to either remove your shoes and socks if you have them on or wear the shoe covers provided. Not all of these are new as people put them back after use.

Fantastic experience: Today I just used the library amenities which are good but not extensive. However if there is anything you'd like to borrow they will do their best to get it if they can. A lovely staff who are very helpful. There is also an East Riding customer service section which very efficient if you need anything. The gym section has recently been refurbished with an extension added. I haven't used it yet but my son tells me it is an excellent facility with staff ready to help and advise all users. There is a cafeteria which is reasonably price and good value. It's well worth a visit.

Positive experience: Great experience here today with my grandson. We did the soft play and he loved it. Then lunch in the cafe which was very nice and quick service. Friendly helpful staff all around.
