Stokesley Leisure Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: I only used the swimming pool here up to now. The large pool is good, not too cold compared to others. The small kids pool is fantastic. The water is lovely and warm, and there are usually plenty of toys in or around the pool for the kids to play with. I have a son with Down syndrome, and this is the best swimming pool for him to learn to swim in. I have been to a few leisure centres for swimming and this one is far the best. It doesn't get too busy or noisy. And the price is the cheapest I have found. I would highly recommend it, especially if you have a child with learning disabilities and don't like a lot of noise.
Fantastic experience: The team are all really friendly and keep the facilities clean and tidy. Great combination of facilities for all ages and fitness levels to enjoy.
Negative experience: Love how this pool serves the surrounding area but the pool temperature is freezing and the water quality is so poor. Dead bugs and spiders, and other things floating about. The surrounding areas to walk and the changing rooms also really dirty. It could do with regular cleaning.
Fantastic experience: Myself, my partner and our 4 year old visited Stokesley Leisure Centre to use the swimming pool facilities today. We were very impressed with our visit and liked that there was ample parking available and that the pool wasn't overly crowded (we visited on a Sunday morning). Plenty of changing cubicles available, including family cubicles, which we utilised. Lockers take £1 coins or tokens and there is free to use hair dryers and a swim ware drying machine available (also free). We used the small children's pool which went to a maximum depth of 0.8 meters. The children's pool also had lots of floats, balls and swim related toys in it already, which was great as you won't need to take pool toys yourself unless your child prefers something specific to them. There is also a larger pool available which is aimed more to adults and children able to swim unaided. Attentive life guards look over both pools independently and there is a nice viewing area overlooking both pools for anyone not entering the pool area. Vending machines provide beverages and snacks in the lobby area and there is also the facility to weigh yourself (50p cost to do this). All in all a nice little place for a swim, we did not try any of the other facilities available during our visit but we will be returning again to swim.
Positive experience: Good facilities
Fantastic experience: Really appreciate being able to swim so close to home. The new shower area is lovely.
Positive experience: Usual weekly swimming routine great staff though
Fantastic experience: Swimming here is very pleasant.
Positive experience: Recently, I had the pleasure of going to Stokesley Leisure Centre, and I have to tell that it was an absolutely wonderful experience. I was welcomed with a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at ease the moment I walked through the door. The Stokesley Leisure Centre had excellent amenities. The staff was helpful and attentive, ready to help with any inquiries or need. A nice and hygienic atmosphere was created by the location's thorough cleanliness. Additionally impressive were the amenities of Stokesley Leisure Centre. The seating areas were cosy and roomy, and the restrooms were kept up properly. The building's aesthetic appeal stemmed from its thoughtful design and attention to detail.
Fantastic experience: Lovely outing and Good management
Fantastic experience:
Negative experience: No hot water for showers poolside. 2nd week in a row. Changing rooms filthy again.
Positive experience: An easy find to take up poor weather holiday time. Needs some TLC though.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. The staff were very helpful as it was my first visit to the facility. They showed me where the changing rooms and lockers were and explained the current procedures.
Fantastic experience: Great assortment of equipment
Positive experience: Canny place but not much for kids in the baby pool. Northallerton has a lot more 'going on' but at least the pool is warm!
Fantastic experience: Fab very safety conscious great teacher Charlotte doing pilates this morning
Positive experience: Good
Fantastic experience: Started a 13 week learning to swim class, I'm happy with the teacher's they very supportive.
Positive experience: Excellent spot for an early morning swim
Positive experience: Swimmimg lessons are ok , changing rooms can be occaisionally smelly and in need of a deep clean, lockers and changing cubicles are avaialable.
Fantastic experience: Great for swimming with the family
Negative experience: Lacking in some standard weightlifting equipment. No squat rack, nothing for calf raises, nothing dedicated for back extentions (although can do these with some improvisation) does have a Smith machine, cables only go up to 45kg so no good for rows (since they don't have a proper weighted rowing machine other than the ones for endurance), some of the barbells are bent, the leg curl machine is broken, a lot of the leather cushioning on the machines needs replacing, one of the ends of the 22kg dumbells is missing the cap and I have ended up cutting myself on it when I wasn't careful. Yes it does have a swimming pool and free classes but if you are like me and only use the gym aspect it is not worth the £36 a month you pay (for a 12 month contract), especially when I used to pay £15 a month, contract free, in Manchester at Pure Gym for some much more and better gym equipment. There is no option to pay to just use the gym, but there is an option for just the swimming pool. Yes you do get access to the other centers with the £36 a month but if you're like me and don't have a car it's a useless add on. The only reason I use this place other than being locked into a contract is the fact it's the only gym I know of in walking distance. Unless things improve soon I will be going elsewhere once I have a car and my contract is up.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic for kids swimming lessons, reasonable price and good staff
Fantastic experience: Kids swimming, busy place
Fantastic experience: Family fun and friendly staff
Negative experience: Stop following me
Fantastic experience: Great pool to swim in, decent gym. I have lost a stone since coming (8 weeks) so has been well worth it.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Ok I have never been
Positive experience: Went to the pool for the first time as I was recommended since having a baby. There were 3 other parents aside from us in the baby pool along with at least 6 teenagers. Pounding beach balls in the water I literally thought one of the babies was gonna get hit. Being very loud and yelling. I understand it’s a kids pool but I thought that meant babies, toddlers, children, not 15-17 year olds There was two other little kids who weren’t causing anyone a problem But really think they should keep teenagers in the bigger pool I tried to take my baby in the bigger pool to get away from the teenagers and she started turning blueish and shivering so had to go back into the baby pool We received a family ticket to come again but I really hope this doesn’t happen again
Negative experience: I arrived with my gym bag as the receptionist looked at me with disgust. The pool was decent but it was very cold in comparison to the children’s pool. On top of that it’s right next to the school so all the bloody kids come in and think it’s fair game. Not on my watch.
Fantastic experience: Great for swiming
Fantastic experience: Good gym facilities, friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Fantastic
Negative experience: Unpleasant receptionist, classes ok, but not brilliant,
Fantastic experience: A great leisure centre my son is disable and loves the disable swim from 1 till 2 o'clock
Negative experience: The pool needs updating in my opinion.
Fantastic experience: Great pool, good gym and squash court.
Negative experience: Brought my 2 grandchildren on Saturday 6th Jan. The changing rooms were freezing cold and were dirty!! Really smelly and not clean at all. The pool temps were ok. No wonder it is not well attended.
Positive experience: Nice clean friendly pool
Fantastic experience: Good squash court
Fantastic experience: We mainly use the baby pool that is lovley and warm and the gym area that is always clean and in workong order
Positive experience: Good to go swimming and fitness training
