Fantastic experience: Used as a visitor for the morning swim session. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Very clean changing and pool. Not busy at all. 2 lane swimming and general for the time used.

Positive experience: No access to gym without induction from qualified gym instructor, making it very hard from anyone out of town to use facilities. Do you need an induction from a qualified swim instructor to use the pool? I've been to countless bouldering gyms, an objectively more dangerous sport, with less stringent rules. Three stars simply because looking through the windows the facilities looked tidy and well maintained.

Negative experience: Google says the gym is open right now at 8:18 am but I'm right outside and it's closed. Great.

Negative experience: Went today with family. Issue with payment as booked online so I had to go and come back (booked family swim online but only charged for one person) no big deal although I was shouted at upon leaving through entrance door “hello, hello, wrong door” - this immediately got my back up. Prior to this the receptionist person was very cold, impatient and unhelpful in dealing with our issue. We seemed to be getting different treatment than others, maybe as our family is mixed race, or that my partner is English? Who knows? Was also huffing and puffing over the situation which was extremely rude. When I came back , I told the supervisor Jamie (who was excellent) that I wasn’t happy with service. Unbeknown to me my partner had also had words about her in my absence. Then, upon hearing my complaint - the reception lady (sat at end of desk) broke down in tears, and said I was rude. I asked why she was arguing with a paying customer, and then she said she was most lowly paid member of staff out of everyone …. Whilst sobbing uncontrollably. Caused a big scene and was highly embarrassing for me and my family. Really spoiled the afternoon as all my children didn’t need this and certainly didn’t expect to be blamed for her low wages - however as I’ve said Jamie offered excellent resolution by providing us extra swim time. Unfortunately won’t ever be visiting again. Highly unprofessional in respect of the receptionists rude manner, and I am from Thurso originally! Avoid - hugely costly also in comparison to other pools - although no competition up in caithness which explains the ridiculously high costs.

Negative experience: Very poor for a visitor, understand that it's policy although having to get an introduction to such a bog standard gym is ridiculous, also the so called trainer's look like there the ones who need an introduction Swim pool wasn't bad

Fantastic experience: Nearly 30 years I was there last and it has changed drastically for the better. As well as a pool there's a gym and sauna and it's a communal changing room.

Fantastic experience: Its a great place to go deep pool good for diving when nobodys looking nah seriously stay safe dont break the rules the lifeguards are very attentive i have no problem letting my kids swim arround knowing theres a great team keeping an eye on the kids there a sauna aswell highly recommend this pool only negative id say is prices are creeping up but thats life id go so much more if prices were 20% less food for thought

Positive experience: The gym heating cooling ventilation rarely works properly, the locker room is poorly designed, but it's otherwise a great facility for a small town, with a good selection of equipment, friendly staff, and a variety of exercise classes. Good swimming pool, changing room and classes.

Fantastic experience: A quite time for a few lengths at adults only swim.

Positive experience: Quite a good layout, large carpark and well stocked gym on site too. Unfortunately it is quite expensive and the water is too cold. I certainly would not take a baby swimming there.

Fantastic experience: Thurso swimming pool has excellent facilities for users like the pool , so many activities happen in their from swimming aerobics - kayak leasons , then you have an awesome gym and changing rooms , the staff are very helpful

Fantastic experience: I was working in the area and thought I'll tip in and get a work out. I do this all around the Highlands and this gym is maybe the best gym. For varience of machines and friendly staff it's a bench mark other gyms should be at.well done.

Fantastic experience: It's very clean and well organised however it's extremely hot when getting dressed and you tend to need another shower by the time you're ready to leave!

Negative experience: Passing through thurso. Went in to use the gym at 16:30 and was told i would have to do an induction (be shown how to use the weights).... I am a competing bodybuilder and clearly train and have used gyms for a few years. I am also a level 3 personal trainer that runs my own personal training business, which i told the person behind the desk. However the person behind the reception was adimant i had to do an induction. Went into the gym and all free weights were out of bounds as there was a load of 12yr old rugby players doing what was supposed to be strength & conditioning. Will not be back and wouldnt even reccomend this gym to anyone... infact calling it a gym is a little tongue in cheek. Thank you however to the guy who works there who seen the woman was being a jobsworth and cleared it all up. And £6.20 to use the 'gym' when free weights were out of bounds is a little cheeky.
