Negative experience: The new benches they’ve got are shocking, somehow worse than the old ones and those rocked from side to side. Genuinely just disappointed at this point

Negative experience: Very dirty , loads of mold everywhere, sealing is dripping and there are buckets collecting water everywhere, nobody cleans or disinfects the gym areas in the evening , I got a skin infection after going to this gym just a week that I am still trying to heal , spent loads of money on medicine , do not recommend, unless you take super care bring a towel and do not sit directly on the machines , they are disgusting.

Negative experience: I've been a member of this gym for a year, but unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The roof leaks for more than year, which is a serious issue that should have been addressed by now. However, my biggest concern is the staff's behavior. They consistently avoid eye contact, and when you do approach them for help, they seem to treat you as an inconvenience. They don't take the time to listen to or assist you properly, which is quite unprofessional for a commercial establishment. I come from a very friendly and welcoming community, so I understand cultural differences, but there's a basic level of customer service that should be universal. Sadly, this gym doesn't meet that standard.

Positive experience: Big gym, well equiped but no cleaning stations and not many people are using towels so not great

Negative experience: I joined the Doncaster branch as I had heard good reviews. On my first visit to the gym I left my headphones on a treadmill. Whilst I appreciate I should have been more careful with my property, the support I have received from the gym since in trying to locate my headphones has been terrible. In the first instance it was difficult to locate a member of staff at the gym to speak to. The member of staff I did speak to couldn't have been less interested if he tried. Wouldnt even take my details, name, nothing! I repeatedly asked for management to contact me to discuss the matter and they have, still to date, not once reached out to me. The only communication I have been able to have is via email and not with the manager of the Doncaster branch and now they have advised there is nothing further they can do to assist and to lodge a police report if I believe they have been stolen. They advise they have reviewed the CCTV but they don't even know what I look like or what machine I was using to be able to accurately check the CCTV. Considering the gym is over two floors with multiple treadmills I do not believe a proper check has been carried out. In a gym that is as covered by so much security as it is a 24 hour gym, I would have imagined you should be able to go and feel safe there and even if you did leave an item behind, it would be handed in and the team members would be more helpful. Terrible experience. Would not recommend at all.

Negative experience: Staff members bulling you to clean the gym for them saying that even if you start using equipment and leave it the same way you started using it. They will make threats to you that they might end your membership if you do not move the equipment for them. Also discriminating you because what they say it's okay for me to do it but it's not going to be okay for another member to move it. I'm wondering if this is racist and it means polish people have to move equipment for them or is this just bullying?

Fantastic experience: I go early because it's very quiet, no waiting for benches or equipment.. Great selection, clean and tidy

Positive experience: Looked very clean and well maintained when I visited. The 2 hours included parking for the car park outside was handy, too. I had teething problems with the QR codes/app (the app said that I wasn't at the gym yet when I was trying to scan for entry, and then when it did start working, I just wasn't holding my phone at quite the right angle to scan properly), but after that, it was all okay.

Fantastic experience: I usually train at either Rotherham or Doncaster depending on what shift I’m on the Doncaster site has a lot more equipment and in my opinion has a better layout the staff at both sites are really helpful and approachable. Being a heavier person I’ve always found it hard to go to the gym without thinking everyone is looking at me or judging me but I’ve never felt that at the gym group I’ve always felt welcomed.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym around a year and a half ago, and I'm impressed! The staff are super friendly and approachable, always ready to lend a hand. The equipment is well maintained and has everything i need. I go to the gym around 7-9am and I rarely have to wait. The atmosphere is great too; fellow gym-goers are respectful and considerate. Plus, my personal trainer, Charlotte, is fantastic—she really listens and tailors my workouts to my specific needs. I also like that I can park for free for a couple of hours whilst using the gym as it makes going to the gym even more affordable and takes away a potential barrier for me accessing the gym. In the winter I would say it is a little chilly, but once I start working out it isn't noticeable. The gym does have a leak problem with water coming through the roof so there is the odd bucket knocking around collecting water but this doesn't interfere with my workouts at all. Overall, it's an affordable, clean, welcoming, and effective gym experience!

Negative experience: Miss communication on the class booking system has left a nasty taste in my mouth, head office need to give Steve some freebies as the way he was treated today was absolutely disgusting and embarrassing, totally avoidable in my mind, if this malarky carries on, you will be one less member with me

Negative experience: Been there for 1 month, now I can see why is not so busy, because is COLD. Firstly, the air con is terrible, you can freeze while you train, doesn't matter where you are, it's cold everywhere, you can feel the air con blowing straight to you. Secondly, fix the walls, I can buy you 50 more buckets so you can use them when is leaking, too many leaks on both floors, it's so ridiculous , water everywhere etc

Fantastic experience: Good equipment and availability when I travelled there, but it's not my home gym. If traveling by car, it's on the right as you enter the car park. Can be seen from the barriers.

Negative experience: Not a very good gym they don’t have an incline press machine or any to train you’re hamstrings and half the attachments are missing

Fantastic experience: I go there only on the weekend around 7 in the morning. Quiet, clean not crowded. Exactly what you expect. Compared with the York gym is bigger with more machines, bench presses. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I requested to pause my membership in March now we are in July I am still getting charged despite numerous emails with their customer service department. I have paid over £100 on a services that they have admitted has been frozen. Customer service take over a week to reply and put as little effort as possible. "Work my body not my wallet" is an aparent lie I thought the gyms and staff were solid but this is making me think worth while anymore. I'll consider taking this review down if I get an amicable solution to this. Asked to reach out to reviews and still not got a response. Go to PureGym, service from The Gym Group is aweful.

Fantastic experience: The gym has everything you need. Not only is it open 24 hours a day every day of the week, but you have different levels to excess the gym you can go from the second story carpark or from the street entrance. The gym has two different rooms full of brand new equipment. You can cancel your contract at any time and pay no extra and the price is very reasonable too.

Fantastic experience: Booked a day ticket as staying in a nearby hotel. Had called in day before and was given a friendly and informative tour by one of the staff members-great service!

Fantastic experience: My goto place for a workout always lots of space to get done what I need without having to wait for equipment. The 24/7 aspect is much appreciated for when I'm working nights. Free classes. With free 2 hours parking. You can go wrong. And at a low cost. Recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: this place is a shambles they don’t take harassment accusations seriously and said ‘there is nothing we can do’ in relation to this. they don’t care about any issues you go to them with, it’s as if they can’t wait for you to leave them alone. this gym has a culture of sweeping things under the rug. the trainers and staff are way too friendly with gym users which creates favouritism and unprofessionalism.

Positive experience: Good gym. Only thing i would ask is please turn the music down or if that’s not possible change the playlist. After going a number of years I’ve heard the song “No Sugar Coated Love” about 1000 times.

Positive experience: I’ve been going here for years now and it’s a great gym that has a good choice of equipment, has really friendly team members including the cleaners like Pete! My only criticism and the only reason I won’t give 5/5 stars is because the music is always blasting in the gym and even with my earphones on high volume I can’t escape it. If it were lowered a tad it’d improve my personal experience and I’ve heard the same from friends too. Overall I’d Recommend this gym to anyone though!

All the staff are so friendly, helpful, attentive and knowledgable. The whole atmosphere is welcoming. The classes are excellent. A real key if you are new to the gym this is the place to go, and if you're an old timer the equipment is great.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this gym for years and it’s honestly like home to me. The staff are like my family - all the trainers and Pete the cleaner. They all deserve a huge pay rise for their exceptional services. The only downfalls has been the wifi and the tragic music played, but despite this I will never go anywhere else.

They help with anything we need, answer questions about equipment, offer advice etc. I’ve never had a problem that wasn’t resolved by them. The gym itself is good, staff are always cleaning down equipment and there is plenty of kit to choose from. Would love a hip thrust machine though if you are taking suggestions :)
