PureGym Trowbridge

Positive experience: Filthy toilets put me off this place. I’ve informed staff numerous times about the disgusting toilets in this relatively new gym. I like the gym but honestly if you can’t keep a toilet clean your management isn’t doing a good job. Out sourced cleaning staff clearly have no pride in their work and also no uniform. Puregym should insource their cleaning rapidly. I was in the bathroom while a young lady was cleaning the sink mirrors while at the same time ignoring the revolting toilets. While I appreciate it is the clients making these loos gross. During 7-9am there should be many cleaning runs. Shit all over the toilet pan and the underside of the seat stained hideously, who would want to use this. It’s a pet peeve but so easy to fix but clearly Puregym don’t actually give a toss at this price point.

Positive experience: Reasonable priced gym. With everything you need. Been visiting puregym now for over a year. One i don't like is the fact it to over crowded and can't always do what you need to do between 5pm and 8pm worse times. So have to work round it at more quite times

Fantastic experience: For the price this gym is complete, comfortable and never too busy that you can’t do anything at peak times. I go at 5pm every week day and there is space. 6pm gets a bit more busy. Weekends or outside of these times are perfect. Parking is normally ok but the yellow barriers are so pointless and really box you in. You get to watch lots of people eating McDonald’s while you are running on the treadmill. Yes you are better than them

Positive experience: Good gym, easy set up and normally enough equipment for all to use. Shame about the parking after 7pm, but easily rectified

Negative experience: The gym is overcrowded and the staff do not care, you will see plates on the floor, weights in wrong place...I have been at other branches and they had more equipment than the Trowbridge branch.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with Puregym, Trowbridge. I used a day pass and got my code for entry quickly and efficiently. The gym itself is very well equipped with plenty of choice so you’re not waiting for equipment. The gym was very clean as was the ladies changing rooms. I also used the showering facilities and the showers were hot and also very clean. A great gym and would highly recommend.

Negative experience: With all the kids at night and I'm assuming the damage that goes with it.....male changing room

Fantastic experience: It’s not as big as it looks from the outside but there’s enough equipment to be able to do your workout without having to queue. It’s usually not very busy if you avoid the late afternoon.

Negative experience: If you want to go to a gym and watch other people train while you csnt get on a single machine chose puregym trowbridge, cancelled

Positive experience: Good new equipment and large range of machines. On weekday evenings the gym is full of teens that are loud and just sit in their social media occupying the machines, so I started attending mostly in the morning and during weekends, as there are zero children at these times. For the last two weeks the gym is very cold as the doors are broken, I cant believe there’s literally nobody in Wiltshire who can sort the doors out, but yet the management doesn’t seem to be bothered. There’s a Zumba class on Thursday evening that has incredibly loud music and people scream during the class, making it uncomfortable to exercise.

Fantastic experience: First time at puregym. Not intimidating like some gyms can be. Great selection of equipment, clean, friendly and an all round good experience.

Negative experience: Very busy all the time, too many kids joking and making a mess inside. Must ban teenagers access after 19:00.

Positive experience: I have been a member of Pure gym for a year now and used branches all over the country. The staff are usually great but at this gym the staff member I spoke to was really brusque. I asked if it was possible to increase the temperature in the changing room (it’s really cold) and also commented that the showers are lukewarm at best. She told me “no” and when I queried her she said Pure are saving their carbon footprint as they have 238 branches. I found this a little odd as I would expect them to care about the clients’ comfort but it was the manner in which she spoke to me that I found most disappointing as usually the staff are bubbly and super helpful.

Positive experience: Nice, cheap, functional gym, could do with a couple more bikes and stair climbing machines but well worth the money.

Negative experience: Nowhere to leave your bike. Before they opened they advertised that there was somewhere to leave your bike but after a year there is no development. Staff aggressively tell you that you cannot leave it in the porch and recommend you leave it by a busy McDonald's pathway or 200m away outside Costa. I have heavily invested in my bike and don't want to leave it in either of those places. I don't drive down as my car has previously been damaged in the car park which is shared by McDonald's. The gym has a large number of children and teen members that attend in mass making it very difficult to utilise the equipment as they hog machines in large numbers. The feel of the cable resistant machines are not smooth and have a inconsistent feel through the range of motion. I cancelled my membership today after a year and rejoined Anytime Fitness.

Negative experience: STUDENTS BEWARE! I contacted these guys after 2 years to see if anything has changed, but still, they don't know the meaning of word "student". Their student monthly prices are same as the non student. What a joke! Their management should be selling bananas on the streets instead of running the business. Student should stay far far away!

Positive experience: One star less , because of shower hygiene after 22:00 when im start my training , it is really dirty under shower it is supose to be some kind of mobile shower head to remove dirt , or better and smaller sqeegee

Positive experience: Good basic gym.Very busy at times. Lots of teenagers sat on equipment using their phones, so you can't access the equipment fully. Really think staff need to be more proactive in dealing with this. Staff friendly enough but don't seem too engaged. App really slow to open for access.

Fantastic experience: Represents value for money and kit that has been showing signs of wear and tear has already been refreshed, can’t fault it really. Granted it gets busy at times but can always check before visit on the App.

Negative experience: People staring, so busy, someone took a video of me, no one is friendly and lots of machines out of order. Only good thing is price

Positive experience: Showers often unclean. Far too may teenagers using equipment. They are often in groups and monopolise equipment for ages, or sit on machines using their phones.

Fantastic experience: Joined here after being a member of Snap Fitness for 2 years and I find it so much better. The gym is incredibly clean, great variety of equipment and cheap monthly contracts. What more could you want?

Positive experience: Brilliant gym with lots of various equipment. The only things I would change are having changing rooms with lockable changing room getting in, lockable shower doors without the misty glass, and more than one lockable changing room. Otherwise it’s brilliant!

Fantastic experience: Good gym with the right equipment you need. Love the daily classes make sure you book it 1 week before as they in good demand. so in demand that there is a waiting list on the app

Negative experience: Equipment is poor quality ( treadmills , barbells )

Positive experience: Very good place to get a workout done in, the management team is incredibly nice and supportive as even though my 24 hour pass is a one time use, they sorted out a time for me to come in later when there's less people around. Sadly the changing rooms I'm not very happy with, it smelt and I personally find it quite uncomfortable to change around other people, there was no hidden spaces to do so except the cubicle. Overall it was a very pleasant and fun experience and the staff were awesome, I recommend it. Also it was only 7-8 quid for a 24 one time use pass which is quite cheap for the workout I got out of it.

Fantastic experience: Very good gym, staff are friendly, members are welcoming, and the atmosphere is motivating, very clean and easy to access, the gym has classes that most have no extra cost, and also has fitness plans, loving every day I go

Positive experience: The overall gym is very tidy and clean, the men's toilets always have a funny smell to them. Machines are always in working order and don't ever have a problem in waiting. Vending machines are always stock up. The only negative I have is the smelly men's locker and people seemed to own their own lockers, and few lockers are broken.

Positive experience: I don't like that the application shows few people and when I come there is no place and everything is taken. There are actually more people. Please do something about it because many people enter the same code.

Positive experience: From a price point this gym is the best around and excellent value for money. All the equipment is new and the 24/7 opening hours is very handy. There is a mix of ages like every other gym but I do feel this gym attracts younger persons more than older; despite this I don’t feel out of place. Being a “budget” gym the equipment is bog standard so if you’re after fancy treadmill screens or automatic rep counters this isn’t the gym for you. If I could fault anything it would be the temperature of the gym. The AC is rubbish or it needs turning down more, it also doesn’t help that the water fountain is not chilled.

Fantastic experience: Love this place. Brand new gym. Plenty of equipment, friendly PT's, and a good range of classes. There is a great choice of classes, and membership levels that allow earlier booking of classes and free flavoured water along with access to other gyms in the group. 24/7 access means that it is possible to visit whenever. Free car parking is available, although you need to make sure you don't stay too long. The only downside is that is directly opposite McDonalds, KFC and Costa!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, so much equipment to be able to use, all good quality new equipment. Staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is very clean and has a good number of sanitisation stations. Would recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been to a gym before so I’m a bit of a newb. I did a get started class with who I think was the manager and he was very friendly and helpful and showed me how to use the equipment. I was a bit worried about being judged and people staring at me but it’s not like that at all. It’s friendly, clean and there is plenty of equipment. I also really like the Bolton that you can add for the flavoured water, very yummy.

Positive experience: The gym size and new equipment is great. However just need to address the fact that this is a gym and I felt very uncomfortable when this man came to watch me hipthrust. I told him to stop watching me and get away from me. Please give people space and don’t stand and watch people it’s not cool okay!

Fantastic experience: Only been a few times but fantastic gym, especially for the price. Think im on a sort of early bird special as signed up 5 months before gym opened. Can management tell me will this price run until 12 months from signing up, ie may 23 or gym opening ie Oct 23... Looking forward to doing a class this week.

Positive experience: Why does the HIT area need its own music? The noise of 3 different tracks playing at full volume in one open plan gym was annoying. Good kit, friendly staff, but the loudest branch I’ve ever been in. Wear noise cancelling headphones..

Gym is spotless & everything is spanking new (Obviously) Been to many gyms over the last 20 years and would say it’s probably the best @ this value point & probably better than 99% of gyms up to £50/month! *Thumbs up*
