Our comment from FitFit UK about The Fundamental Movement Academy:
The Fundamental Movement Academy in Evesham is a delightful place for children to enjoy a variety of physical activities while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Parents have praised the expansive space and the unique equipment that distinguishes it from other local facilities. The staff are noted to be very friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming environment for both children and parents.
Highlights of the academy include:
- Excellent gymnastics and trampoline classes, with enthusiastic coaches who foster skill development in a fun way.
- Great facilities, including an impressive soft play area, clean rooms, and well-maintained equipment.
- Convenient amenities such as free parking and a comfortable waiting area with free Wi-Fi and TV monitors to observe activities.
- A variety of exciting activities and coaching options suitable for children of all ages, including preschoolers and those with special needs.
- Affordable entry fees, particularly for soft play sessions, allowing families to enjoy all-day access.
Despite the positives, there are some areas needing improvement as noted by visitors:
- Concerns about overcrowding during peak times and safety measures during toddler sessions.
- The cafe offerings have been criticized for limited choices and higher-than-expected prices for snacks and meals.
- Some users reported disorganization during events and a lack of qualified staff, affecting overall management.
- Booking procedures for holiday sessions should be more clearly communicated to avoid confusion.
Overall, The Fundamental Movement Academy is a well-loved venue that encourages children to stay active and have fun, but adjustments in management and some operational aspects could enhance the experience even further.
The Fundamental Movement Academy: Opinions
Positive experience: Good place, enjoyable for kids and a healthy alternative to day out. Food they have on offer goes against the health side of it. Encourages kids to move and be healthy but then serves cookies and pringles. Generally a good concept tho
Positive experience: My daughter (2 years old) loves visiting FMA Evesham for the gym explorers sessions. We've been quite a few times and would return again. Pros: * love the equipment, loads of space and not similar to anything else I've seen locally. * The equipment and rooms are clean and well looked after. * Very friendly helpful staff - one woman in the gym, was very approachable and chatted with parents. Young staff member at the cafe desk was really accommodating when I asked to check the ingredients of the milkshakes as I have coeliac disease (I didn't enquire about gf food but nothing was visible on the menu). The manager seemed supportive of the young staff and was polite and kind when reminding people about their policy on food from home. * Sandwich in kids meal deal was freshly made and a whole sandwich, rather than half. Cons: * One of the things I used to love about this place is that they (seemingly) didn't have a policy on bringing your own food into the cafe. This changed recently. I abided by their new signs and bought a lunchbox deal (£5) for my little one but was a little disappointed as bringing snacks/lunch for my little one made it easier and cheaper. The session is 10-2 so kids are bound to need lunch there. I understand this is a quick way for them to make profit. * Choice for meal deal was a little limited and seemed to be Aldi branded stuff. Didn't feel great paying a hiked price for something I can get a multipack of, down the road. * Sandwich took a while. My 2yo had made her way through the rest of the meal deal by the time it was ready.
Fantastic experience: Come here weekly for my daughters gymnastics class. She really enjoys it and is doing really well. My son plays in the soft play while we wait and he has a great time! Cakes and coffee are delicious.
Negative experience: It fees disorganised, messy, dirty and unsafe. Children coaching children
Negative experience: Evesham site is being run by unqualified teenagers… (literally in my 14yo sons year). Booked a party, arrived on the day and all I can say is the organisation was a shambles. One older male on site who for the 3 hours we were there was barely seen and 3 teens who to be quite honest had no idea what they were doing/supposed to be doing. Ie no idea where we were supposed to go upstairs, chairs on party area filthy dirty (I took photos), party guests waiting ten minutes for a hot drink even tho it was not remotely busy and having to go up and prompt staff.. Only two families in there bar our party and the downstairs area was filthy. Seems management thinks a money saving exercise like getting rid of qualified competent staff and employing teenagers is a sensible business decision. I’d say it’s utterly foolish (this is in no way the teens faults, you can only do as well as the training you’re given…)
Negative experience: Absolutely gutted! No where on site if there is a warning that bookings need to be made for half term holidays. Sister in law has been regularly in the last few weeks and not once was it advised to book in the coming weeks (she always just turns up and pays). We arrived this morning 16.02.23 to be told the session was fully booked. Two very upset nieces and seeing so my sister in law has been coming regularly it's disappointing that no staff brought up the topic of booking! We didn't actually know booking was a thing as she usually just turns up and pays. Advertisement needs to change to meet those not on social media! As someone who visits the valley regularly a poster explaining to book for holiday sessions would be useful! Or one that explains pre booked only on the door so we don't take the children in to be upset by the outcome. Gutted!
Positive experience: I was shocked that the soft play price has increased by 33% to £10
Negative experience: Took my 18 month granddaughter to Baby and Toddler gym movers yesterday which I booked online the previous evening. It was not until I arrived, because it was not stated on their website at the time that I realised during school holidays they allow in children up to age 11. It is completely inappropriate to allow children of this age to mix with babies and toddlers. Older kids were running about all over the place quite oblivious to the safety of toddlers. But for my intervention my granddaughter would have been trampled by 2 rampaging kids while she was in the 'baby' area. I'm not blaming the kids because they're just kids doing what kids do. I am questioning the wisdom of allowing school age children to mix freely with pre-school age children in such an exciting, stimulating and physical environment. There was not enough staff supervision, not enough parental because many had more than one child and no safe zones for babies and toddlers. Unless FMA address this issue I will not be taking my granddaughter there again in school holidays and I would not recommend anyone with babies and toddlers to go there either. Stick to term times if you want to keep your little ones safe. I did make a complaint to FMA about this practice. They have apologised. They have updated their website so it is obvious the Baby and Toddler gym movers are open to children up to the age of 11 during school holidays. What they have not done is to address my safety concerns hence this review.
Positive experience: The Evesham site is a fantastic facility to have, and my boys do have a good time here. However I do wish they would firstly - do something about safety in the gym movers sessions… toddlers flinging themselves around on high trampolines is an accident waiting to happen. This would never be allowed in a gymnastics class… not sure why it’s a complete free for all, especially when some parents think it’s ok to be at the other end of the very large hall or even out in the cafe!! Secondly please please clean the soft play. It was filthy today, and so so quiet. 4 staff members around. Crisp / chocolate packets shoved down the side of the netting, crisp crumbs all over the place and clumps of hair, dust and dirt very visible in easy to clean gaps between mats etc. felt really filthy in there. This place could be so great. On a plus note it was nice to see the gym actually set up well with mats next to the long trampoline and by the beams today, which hadn’t been the case in the past where we have had to ask someone to come in and put mats in logical places so equipment could actually be used.
Fantastic experience: Regularly take my sons to the explorer sessions. They have so much fun: running, jumping and climbing. The recent of addition of a bouncy castle has enhanced the excitement. Staff are friendly and there is so much space for kids to play. Thank you.
Positive experience: Great facilities and highly enjoyable for the children, but seriously overcrowded I understand that it's the Easter holidays but surely theyre should still be a plausible booking restriction . Kids were running in too each other and banging heads and they're was like 6 adults per two children far to over crowded
Negative experience: Parking nightmare. No spaces could not stop. Children running over the roads.

Positive experience: My kids love going there for gymnastics. Adequate free parking, free WiFi. TV screens in waiting area so you can remotely see what your kids are doing, however quite a few screens were not working last time I was there.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gymnastics, trampoline, and freerunning centre. The coaches are friendly and professional during the classes, and their holiday schemes are brilliant with the education aspect brought in during the pandemic. There is also excellent inclusivity for disabled participants. Highly recommended for all children!
Fantastic experience: Daughter started with the preschool classes and now moved onto the next class up. She loves it and has developed soo much.
Fantastic experience: Easy access. Lovely facility. Equipment superb. Tv's to observe your child.
Fantastic experience: We went here for the special needs group that they run and everyone was really nice. They have their own parking and a large floor matt as well so it's not just trampolines, your children can lie on the floor. Good time had by my kids and a good price as well.
