Fantastic experience: I have a David Lloyd membership and still nip in here on the way back from work 3 days a week. It’s clean, the kits all matrix so not mind blowing but mostly solid - for 20 a month I think it’s mega.

Fantastic experience: Lost my car keys and wedding ring which the staff retrieved for me over a week later. Top customer service marks for these guys!

Positive experience: I do like the gym, but how you’re supposed to know what the weights are is anyone’s guess

Negative experience: Should be called thieves group lol Turned out the Staffs there can open the locks and steal your money as crazy as it sounds, literally they stole my 300 pound, they do nothing for me because they say sorry there is no camera inside the changing room until out of nowhere they gave me my stuffs but not the money, the money has been stolen. Any reasonable person would not even think about that. I just wanna say to the Staffs and Manegement guys please stop it.

Negative experience: For those who want to know about the reliability of this Gym I want to inform you that the staffs of this gym are all thieves themselves. Just Be careful, the manger there is part of the Fraud. Sadly today They have stole all my money, what they have done is disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I love attending Demetrius's classes! He is an amazing gym member and an excellent PT would highly recommend him to everyone! He is so easy to talk to and get along with!

Negative experience: The gym has a lot of equipment and a wide matt-space for stretching. However, the two big wide spaces it's divided (one narrower, the other one massive, like a factory) don't feel very warm for those that want to have a good stretch session after the workout or have sensory needs. The gym feels unaccessible for those with sensory needs. It's quite loud being one big space (noise cancelling headphones should do the trick though), but mostly, the white bright lights, like most gyms, make it unaccessible for those that struggle with light. The big space makes it harder.

Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I've attended in my life. Half of the equipment is either unstable damaged or missing. Attachments and extra weights for machines are mostly missing or broken beyond repare. The only benefit of the place is the price and the seated Hamstring curls. Other than that it's a poor excuse for a gym.

Positive experience: Big gym, 2x hack squats and incline leg presses, hip thrust machine, lots of smith machines and squat racks. Loads of leg extension machines but only one hip abductor? Seems odd lol. Limited parking. Lack of 20kg barbells and clips for these. Can see it being a nice gym on the weekend. Fairly clean.

Fantastic experience: Very spacious, huge gym, equipment is good enough, large variety as well so everyone will find everything they need for a good session. Little to no waiting on machines,outside of evening peak time. Staff are very nice and helpful. It's a great gym. Defo recommend coming down to see it.

Positive experience: Really good gym, easy access, good parking, open 24/7 which is great. The only downside to this gym is the shower rooms, you can smell the drains when showering which is a bit off putting

Fantastic experience: Modern gym with lots of equipment and knowledgeable instructors. Much larger than it looks from the outside. They run classes at different times of the day included in your subscription fee so you can pick which one works for you in your fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Signed up for a 3 day pass and decided to join. Decent range of kit and enough capacity for when it gets too busy. Gym users all seem sound and respectful, no bad vibes.

Positive experience: Great place. Great price train any time

Negative experience: Will be cancelling my membership, I have never known a gym to close so much, At least once or twice a month they send you an email that they will close on certain days. They send an alternative gym but I have this one for a reason due me and the other half living close! We’ve given up.

Positive experience: It's pretty much got everything you need but it could do with a sledge & few less cardio machines

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this gym for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere, staff and equipment are brilliant. I was a little nervous moving to this gym and hadn’t been keeping up to my fitness, Dario was the friendly professional PT I had been searching for and I’m so glad I signed up with him. My confidence and strength has come so far in such a short period of time. Dario has got to know me, my lifestyle, what I want to achieve and has put together a fitness plan to nurture me to achieve what he knows I’m capable of. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dario as a PT and the gym as a whole.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic and Friendly Gym in Meanwood - Molly is superb! ⭐️ This gym is always so clean and spacious, there’s plenty of equipment so that you’re never waiting for someone to finish their set. They often provide brand new equipment and have recently replaced all of the weighted plates with brand new ones, which is brilliant! Molly and her team are always on hand to help, whether it’s specific advice, group exercises, or 1 on 1 personal training sessions. Having left David Lloyd in Leeds for The Gym Group, I can honestly say that The Gym Group is far better value for money!

Fantastic experience: 5 star review mainly because of the upkeep and staff. I remember when i was unhappy with my weight, anxious and struggling to find what i needed. This gym has helped me through everything and i want to thank a particular staff, Jay for showing me the way forward.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and welcoming gym as well as all staff members being understanding and always respectful towards your level within the gym. Staff member Jay has been extremely helpful since I joined and am always happy to see him about.

Fantastic experience: Great place to train, overall sanity is high and staff as a whole are very friendly. Special shoutout to PT Jay (optimized coaching) who’s always around for tips and advice and very easily approachable. 10/10 Recommend.

Fantastic experience: Really nice spacious gym with good regular classes, Dario a PT at the gym has helped me really smash my targets and got me into shape for tough mudder, so much that I came in an hour under my goal time, can not recommend him highly enough!

Fantastic experience: There is PT who works here called Dario, he’s really helped me to become more confident in the gym and get the grips with getting good form and really making my workouts count! He is friendly and supportive and makes my experience in The Gym fun and not as scary! He’s fab and the results I’ve seen seemed impossible when I first started! Highly recommend! The equipment is great especially since the refurb I am really happy with this gym

Fantastic experience: I just want to share my experiences with a trainer in particular called Dario, he is extremely professional, a joy to be around gives beyond 5 stars customer experience and is truly an asset to the Gym group in Meanwood, Dario is full of knowledge and a phenomenal personal trainer ❤️

Fantastic experience: A lovely and diverse environment! Was definitely nervous to start but all the staff and members made it a comfortable experience. Molly-Mae has really made a safe environment for all, especially women! She encouraged us to stick affirming messages in the women's toilets and it’s created such a safe space for women at any stage in their journey.

Fantastic experience: Great facility with a wide range of equipment (machines, weights and cardio related machines). The staff are fantastic including one of the PTs (Jay Dela Cruz). Overall, brilliant place to workout in.

Fantastic experience: Clean, well maintained and good vibes! I was very inconsistent in the beginning but a huge shoutout to Molly for motivating me! I love attending her morning workout classes. The classes are fun and since I am a beginner it’s a great place to start.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for a few years and it’s brilliant. Equipment is always cleaned, few machines are ever out of service and if they are, it’s only for a day or two. They have loads of machines, free weights, cardio machines and the changing rooms, showers and bathrooms are clean too. Best reason though is how friendly everyone is, the staff are always happy to help and the regulars to the gym are helpful too. Overall it’s brilliant and good value for money.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym around 6 years and don’t plan on going anywhere else. Price has recently increased, however with the refresh of the place and more equipment, I really can’t complain. Nigel the manager is always friendly and helpful!

Positive experience: Needs more equipment…. Big gym, with friendly staff. However, the size of the gym isn’t utilised and there’s lots of wasted space where there could be more machines or a bigger variety of machines. I think the biggest drawback is the lack of glute focused machines. Many women are interested in training glutes these days and other main stream gyms have noted this acted upon it. For example…in the Leeds area JD gyms are at a similar price point, but have hip thrust machines, glute kickback, reverse hyper etc. It would be nice if these could be introduced, I think it would be a big incentive for women to choose this gym.

Negative experience: staff not halping and they cancel my friend gym membership small reason so i want to cancel mine

Negative experience: i have gym membership but i didt know i got off peak time membership and in a emergency peak time i want to take shower in the gym because i dont have shower in my house that is under construction and i want to go to london and my code was not working because of timing then i request staff member they didnt help me and then i use my friends membership code then after that they cancel my friend membership and now me and my other four to five friends we all gonna cancel the membership and we are laughing because the gym meanwood road they loosing thier income from 5 people and im not going to get again that gym membership well done

Negative experience: Large gym with plenty of machines, but open plan layout means all users and classes can all see each-other, would be better to have separate rooms where different activities can be separate. Few windows so no good views while on the treadmills.

Fantastic experience: The Gym Group, Meanwood Leeds Clean, friendly, spacious and very reasonably priced. I was a bit of a slow starter at the gym..joined about 4 months ago but struggled to get there. Big shout out to Molly for helping me with programming the rower. Also thanks to Josh who helped me so much when I initially visited the gym. Thanks again to those two stars..they get 5 stars from me.

Fantastic experience: I've trained at over 10 different gyms in Leeds, for over 40 years now, and interacted with dozens of different gym staff, for advice, support and personal training. My decades of experience of other gyms and gym staff give me the perspective to be able to single out Joshua Pickering and Nigel Hicks at Meanwood. They are quite exceptional in their friendliness, knowledge and professionalism. They are always warm and welcoming to new and existing members, and make visiting the gym much more enjoyable. I hope you pass my feedback on to them personally, as they deserve to be acknowledged and recognised. The only negative about the facilities: we've all been waiting for over a month for the 2nd punchbag to be replaced.

Negative experience: Hi I've been asking for ropes attachment for the string machines and was told rudely by the staff member (male around 5ft) people are stealing them so they're on order and will come whenever they will. Then he went to catch up with a female gym goer and have a social chat for 15mins. This was 3 months ago and still no rope attachments and everyone keeps asking about them. Also, it's very unhygienic as others have said. Everytimes there a refresh, they just rearrange the equipment and that's it. Strange smells, dust, and equipment is becoming dated or not working. Have a visit yourself and make your own judgement. Go to the Headingly one and you'll see the contrast. Considering how long I've been a member, this is very poor. Really disappointed.

Negative experience: Spacious gym but that's about it. It is FILTHY, they shut it down for a few days to "freshen" up the place but there's literally piles of dust on the beams and window ledges that haven't been touched in years, it ain't hygienic at all. The air conditioning is atrocious, it might as well be non existent and there's always a weird smell in there (probably due to the air con needing a service). A lot of the treadmills are always broken and it takes them ages to have them fixed, they also had a faulty tap in the men's facilities that didn't work for weeks even after the "freshen up" . I didn't realise how bad this gym is being ran until I had to visit another site because of the "refresh". Honestly it's atrocious and if there was a closer gym I'd probably go there instead.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym. Joined online yesterday & tried it out. Enjoyed it so much we came again this morning. Loads of different equipment. Friendly staff & parking. Even when it is ‘busy’ theres still plenty of machines to go around. Could easily lose track of time and spend hours here

Positive experience: Good gym, friendly people that go. Loads of equipment, plus open 24/7 and you do feel safe in there. App that works is really useful. Overall good value for money, changes rooms could be improved (reminds me of high school)

Fantastic experience: If you want to burn calories and at the same time have fun in company you have to go to the gym group. In Demetrius lessons you can train your whole body and test yourself with small races at the end of the session!
