Positive experience: Generally pleased with Pure Gym East, good class selection and times. Equipment is in good condition with lots of variety. Classes are pretty good, catering for different abilities, Showers generally clean and tidy, toilets clean most of the time, I have seen the cleaning team going in, each day. Air temperature is at a good level. Good place to work out

Fantastic experience: Lots of equipment and all modern. Bring active noise cancelling earphones because they blast modern "music" down your side holes.

Negative experience: Embarking on a fitness journey at my local gym has been an adventure akin to navigating the darker recesses of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, where the only semblance of civilization is the communal struggle for survival... or in this case, hygiene and hydration. Firstly, the urinal situation is a fascinating study in modern art - a single, perpetually broken monument that serves more as a mausoleum for abandoned chewing gum than a functional piece of plumbing. The aromatic bouquet of urine that wafts through the toilets and changing rooms adds a certain je ne sais quoi, creating an ambiance that screams, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." The soap dispenser, singular in its loneliness, stands by the sink, a testament to missed opportunities and squandered potential, whispering tales of what could have been in a world where two dispensers could have flourished. Venturing further into the heart of darkness, the water fountain saga is a thrilling tale of endurance and patience. At peak times, a congregation of parched souls forms a line reminiscent of the bread queues in Soviet Russia, each member awaiting their turn to partake in the trickle of life itself. The solution seems simple: out with the old, in with a new fountain capable of spewing water with the ferocity of a fire hose, lest we all perish from dehydration or die of old age in the queue. Lastly, the gym members, a delightful bunch, seem to have taken a collective vow against the tyranny of literacy and order. The weights, in a defiant protest against gravity and common sense, are scattered in a chaotic symphony of iron and rubber. This disregard for organizational norms could be seen as a bold statement against the oppressive regime of labels and designated spots, or perhaps it's just a testament to the educational system's failure to instill the value of "putting things back where they belong." In conclusion, navigating this gym is not for the faint of heart. It requires a resilience and sense of humor as robust as the gum-clogged urinal.

Negative experience: Filthy, it clearly isn't being cleaned properly. Go the other PureGym in stoke it's grotty the changing benches clearly have never been hoovered with a layer of grime and detritus in the gaps. Smells too. Avoid at all costs.

Positive experience: Great Gym ppl certainly put the work in,yet they park in the Disabled Bays and won't walk another 100yds,has a wheelchair user I need the extra space open my door etc,assemble my wheelchair, there's only half a dozen genuine Disabled that use the gym and we all have to use of 3 car parking spaces, please Management sort it out amazing how many Disabled Taxi drivers frequent the gym

Negative experience: Came today full of optimism at trying a new gym after being with JD for last 6 months. Sadly was left feeling disappointed. Weights left all over the floor. Weights section was a mess. All in wrong place. Empty monster cans chocolate bar wrappers and used tissue paper on floor. Machines were OK. Will be trying north tomorrow as I don't think I will be back.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a personal trainer here since February 2023 and I wouldn’t change it for anything! I’ve been training here for almost 6 years now before being an PT and the progress I’ve seen in myself and my clients is insane! If you are looking for ‘just a gym,’ no spa, swimming pool or cafe… which just distracts you anyway, then this is the perfect place for you! The managers and other PT’s have been so helpful during my start up here and I’ve spoke to other gym managers around Stoke and they're nothing like these guys. If you’re looking for a fitness coach in 2024, I’ll be round the gym everyday so feel free come say hi and we can see how I can help you reach your fitness goals faster! I focus on muscle growth (toning up) and physical strength, and do enjoy the few weight loss clients that come my way too.

Negative experience: Attended for 1 week during a visit to Stoke I went to this gym for 8 days in a row and spent around 20 hours in there. I can tell you it is one of the dirtiest, grottiest gyms I have ever been in nothing was clean all the machines had sweat stains and were in need of renewal. I paid £20.99 with the intention of continuing my membership but I cancelled shortly after as I was so disappointed with the state of the place. I wont even mention the toilets it would make you sick.

Positive experience: Awesome gym however there is need for more equipment as some equipment such as leg press, leg extension machine, incline chest machine, etc can't effectively meet the demand during peak times.

Negative experience: Recently the showers in the men’s changing room has become very cold, I mean freezing. They won’t turn hot at all and the water interval has also decreased making it very annoying pressing the button every 15-20 seconds. I found this green wire hanging right out of the shower piece in booth 5 (furthest one from steps).this is extremely dangerous!! Also Booth 4 becomes flooded the second you turn the water on, I’m very very disappointed. I hope you fix it as soon as possible

Fantastic experience: First day back in the gym after a few years off due to health issues. This is a great little gym. Well laid out, good lighting and a decent amount of equipment. They have plenty of lockers, access to water and other facilities. The changing rooms were really nice and clean. There were plenty of staff around if you had any issues, though I didn't notice any women, but that could just be time of day/ they weren't on the floor etc. All in all, great first day back at the gym and looking forward to trying out a few classes!

Positive experience: Decent gym for £21 a month, could use some more benches, lack of equipment during busy hours, I end up having to change my workout and make due with what’s available.

Negative experience: It’s hard enough to go the gym in this weather as it is. To go inside and see all the PT’s in jackets, hats and one even in a scarf is laughable. I think someone forgot to pay the heating bill

Negative experience: To see people in a gym wearing coats exercising is almost incredulous until you realise that the heating is either turned down or broken. Then you see the gym staff in coats wearing jumpers under the uniform ( the gym manager). On speaking to members they say that it has been like that for over a week. Not a great welcoming place

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff at this 24 hour gym. Lots of parking available and generally quite a quiet gym. Good changing rooms with showers and hairdryers, and also a good selection of snacks and drinks from the vending machine. The gym itself has a large selection of cardio, resistance and free weights. These is a spin class room with bikes to the rear of the gym, and also a large free space room typically used for classes, but also available for people to use freely with some nice lighting.

Positive experience: My experience may differ as I go in the middle of the night to early mornings.Relitivaly peaceful I can get on anything I want music wasn't loud so I could very easily listen to what I wanted during workout. Opted out of any extras like the drinks so can't rate them but assuming u go regularly they look like a fairly good deal. Before I signed up I came in and the manager was very helpful gave me a tour and answered my initial queries so that was nice. Overall fairly decent place for the price I'm not complaining

Positive experience: I Use this gym 6 or 7 days a week. It is value for money several amount of gym equipment. Showers are available but not always as clean as they should be. Everyone is there for the same reason. I would suggest going to different pure gyms and compare.

I always come away from his classes feeling like I have achieved something. Always pushes to do the best I can. Couldn’t ask for a better trainer.

Fantastic experience: Great value, love the machines, open 24/7, headphones in and youll have a good time for a commercial gym. Don't know how the classes or personal trainers are though. Using their app you get tracking and can see how full the gym is, during peak times it can get bit bussy but ain't too bad.

Negative experience: Can we please ban socks and sliders from the gym! It's ridiculous They are bad enough to look at in everyday life, but I should certainly not be looking at them inside a popular fitness establishment/gym. They are a health and safety risk, its exactly the same as wearing flip flops. The gym itself is fine, obviously busy at peak times like any other gym. I would of left more stars but the socks and sliders thing is getting out of hand now..

Everyone is friendly, staff are helpful if you need advice or ask them something. When it is super busy though it can feel a little over crowded. Only thing is, each time I’ve been the air con hasn’t been on or if it has, it’s not very good. Everything else is fine and no issues with equipment or other facilities.
