Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for over a year now, Iike going in the morning (3-7am) as I prefer the quieter times, whenever I have seen staff they are always very polite and are such lovely people, started to bring my mum with me and she thoroughly enjoys it, equipment is great and changing rooms are always clean, WiFi can be a bit spotty in areas but rarely is an issue, overall it's such a lovely environment to workout in.

Positive experience: Large spacious gym with a good selection of equipment and a friendly laid-back atmosphere. The only negatives are that the showers have a low water pressure, the shower floors never look particularly clean, and there's only one water fountain in the main gym area which has been out of order for over a month.

Positive experience: Great facility always busy and parking is a nightmare the parking lot is very tricky and the parking is very expensive and the staff are rather uncooperative. Would recommend using one of the other facilities that are less of a hassle honestly.

Fantastic experience: Great gym if a little confusing with all the stairs!! Good selection of equipment and not too busy even at a peak time. Plenty of staff about and yes they still have the cleaning stations!!! 2nd visit here and will use this one when in Aberdeen.

Fantastic experience: Very good equipment and a very large gym. Gym was clean and tidy. Very busy at 4pm but still managed to do a full workout without waiting for equipment.

Negative experience: The quality of the services at PureGym Shiprow is quickly deteriorating. Beside the lack of basic equipment, one semi-functioning sanitiser dispenser in the whole gym, and rising prices, the state of the male changing rooms is like something from a horror story. Half of the lockers are broken, and one of the two hair dryers has not functioned since the time May was still the PM, and then there are the showers. Half the time, I am afraid I am going to catch something, but in the last two weeks, they have turned the water bloody cold. I assume that's to save money on the bills, but the temperature of the water now is suitable only for polar bears. If that was not enough, in the last month a new female cleaner has started working there, and she has zero respect for privacy. I understand that she would be cleaning the changing rooms while people are present, but she is in the shower area on a regular basis while guys are having a shower. Imagine that the genders were reversed in that situation. Shiprow already is, and always has been, the worst PureGym in Aberdeen, which is no small feat, but it seems like their aspirations lie even lower. The only reason people even bother to go there is because it's in the city centre. Seriously, just do something about this, as the current conditions are just laughable.

Positive experience: great gym, there only problem are women that monopolize machines for 30 minutes at a time and refuse to share them. I wish there was a women exclusive area and send them there

Positive experience: Very very good for the price point. The flexibility with contract is great to try out the facilities without committing to a minimum contract. Machines are on the older side but well maintained. The only negative i can say is the shower facilities. They could use a bit of fixing and cleaning of black mould.

Fantastic experience: Such a good gym. A great variety of classes all run by friendly instructors and a vast selection of cardio or weights equipment. There’s something for everyone. And just next to Union Street, the gym is in such a convenient location and open 24/7! I would definitely recommend.

Positive experience: The gym offers a good range of equipment. You can always find something for yourself. There is a small area for functional training too. You can take part in a group classes too. One drawback is that it's usually very busy.

Positive experience: This place is pretty much useless in my opinion. The equipment is gonna be taken by someone else even if you come at 3AM, so I'd rather do exercises at home and get my own equipment, even if it's worse, because then at least I'll get to do it plus not waste time commuting here.

Positive experience: Was a regular at this gym for years and although it’s a great gym to train in equipment and atmosphere wise the only downfall was the staff, with the accepton of Louise they weren’t very welcoming or inviting… it doesn’t take much to say a quick hello while passing!! especially to someone who is spending 4/5 days a week in the gym…. I am now attending another gym where the staff always take time to say hello and it really does make all the difference if you ask me

Positive experience: Have different machines, big space. The only thing I wish they find a solution for is the ventilation system. The gym need more air cycling because some time there is a stinky smell.

Negative experience: I just wanted you to know that Someone stole my jacket and pajama from the locker room day before yesterday. It had my room keys which cost £50 to get a new one, I hope you guys can look into the matter and get me my stuff back.

Positive experience: Wish there was a bicycle rack so i feel more secure when leavung my bike outside. I dont see any vudeo cameras outside so that goes agaisnt it too. But great place to work out, loads of machines and open 24/7 makes huge difference among other gyms.

Positive experience: It’s all good in most of aspects. The only thing I’d like to be improved is the lighting. The gym gets no natural light and the lighting installed isn’t convenient.

Positive experience: Its a great gym. Only thing I hate is the fact that you have people who occupy the squat racks for a very long time. Its a nightmare to do squats in the afternoon and evening.

Fantastic experience: Lots of gym equipment, multiple machines for all the necessary muscle groups. This gym has multiple benches for BP and deadlift/squat racks so you won't have to wait for them badboys. Friendly staff always around to give you a hand if needed.
Fantastic experience: Great mid-price gym with plenty of kit which is cleaned frequently though the day. There are also plenty of cleaning stations for you to sanitise kit before and after use. The PTs are friendly and approachable if you want advice on using specific kit

Fantastic experience: Used the gym for 2 months, while working in Aberdeen. I was able to sign up for their cheap no strings attached deal because I didn't have a UK bank account. However I was able to buy 3 months and my last month was refunded but only up to 50%. Which is great because most gyms in the North America side wouldn't give you jack. The gym was clean and had a couple weight lifting platforms and bumper plates this was helpful as I was starting to train for my clean. Staff are all trainers there isn't a front desk, however they were extremely helpful and nice. They gym is spacious and can get very busy after work. (like most gyms) I liked how easy it was to get too by walking from Union square. They only thing I really didn't like was in the change room. For some reason a lot of guys like to destroy themselves with axe body spray. It can fill up the entire room with the smell and if you're danger close to someone you get the collateral damage. Must be a Scottish thing. That's but only downside. All in all I recommend this gym to out of towners who are working and don't want to frequent a bar everyday. It's simple, cheap and had a great 7 day pass you can get.

Positive experience: Lift weights, use machines to lift weights, run on the machines to shift your own weight. No real need to wait as there's plenty of classes to join and good amount of equipment to use so go for that extra rep and extra minute! The real weight is yourself!

Fantastic experience: Everything was perfect when I was there. Building, equipment, staff. One thing surprised me is some instructors don't look like fitness instructors at all (hope you know what I mean). Maybe it's because in Russia instructors look different. Anyway I highly recommend this place for everybody.

Positive experience: Hey, I really like that place,but there's one thing I dont like is lockers that are outside changing rooms. Everytime im coming in night time (changing rooms are locked) all of them are locked by other people who is leaving their personal stuff threw the night. Would be nice guys if you would sort it out. It's in the gym rules and printed on the doors that the main changing rooms are closed overnight for essential cleaning, but the accessible facilities will always be available at these times. It is also against the gym rules to leave kit in the lockers over night. Padlocks that are locked over night will be cut and the contents of the lockers removed. If this is an ongoing problem, I would advise approaching the gym manager directly, or alternatively leaving a message in the feedback box within the gym so we may monitor this situation.
