Our comment from FitFit UK about Playsport Golf:
Playsport Golf, located in Glasgow, United Kingdom, offers a top-notch golfing experience ideal for enthusiasts of all levels. Visitors praise its exceptional driving range, which features a two-tier layout and is equipped with Toptracer technology for an engaging practice session. The pricing is competitive, making it accessible for everyone, with options such as 100 balls for just £11.
Users have also highlighted the warm and friendly staff, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere upon entry. Many have enjoyed the fantastic café on-site, known for its simple yet delicious menu, including homemade soup.
While the facilities are generally well-received, a few users have expressed concerns regarding variable conditions on the golf course and the state of some equipment, like worn-out balls. A specific incident involving a staff member was mentioned, which detracted from one visitor's experience; however, the overall sentiment remains positive.
In summary, Playsport Golf stands out for its great driving range, friendly atmosphere, and affordable options, making it a recommended destination for golf lovers in Glasgow.
Playsport Golf: Opinions
Positive experience: Great driveing range course in decent condition for winter
Positive experience: Nice set up , driving range good pricing .
Fantastic experience: Amazing set up and the new consoles make for great fun during practice.
Fantastic experience: Great golf range, love playing the games, pricing ok
Positive experience: Great driving range with top tracer
Negative experience: My mum and I were greeted with a warm reception upon entry by staff. However, my experience was completely soured by something I witnessed. An appallingly rude member of staff verbally accosted a customer for "hitting too many balls over the net". For context the net in the driving range is only at full height for half of its length, a fundamental design flaw, meaning that balls must be hit over it on the regular. As an organisation this must be known and expected, mitigations should be in place instead of harassing paying customers. I won't be back, although I'm aware that it costs £1 per ball or more through this man's actions. This greying, unfriendly member of staff although not to me directly, by his actions created a highly unwelcoming atmosphere and I chose to leave quickly afterwards. If the net is an issue they should get a higher net or collect the balls that go over and stop moaning, pathetic standards of service were displayed here. If I'm ever good enough to hit the ball over the net, I might return; if only to deliberately hit some balls over and see what this ghastly man has to say to me. One bad interaction can lose customers permanently, despite everyone else being welcoming and friendly. Do better. If I ever go to a driving range again I'll look elsewhere.
Rather than leave petty reviews Martin you could have raised your concerns with me direct, I am the greying owner of the business and I would have discussed this with you. The Toptracer Range system installed in every bay notifies customers when they have hit balls over the net - no matter the height - and also mentions that staff at reception have been notified. When there are high numbers of balls going over from any specific bay we raise this issue with the customer. Perhaps you witnessed me speaking with the customer for the second time after hitting more than 20% of his shots over the net. Instead you have decided to post a review to pass comment on a situation you clearly didn't know the full details of. Please feel free to visit alternative driving ranges in future however be prepared to be challenged if hitting high numbers of ball over the net, something I would have no hesitation of addressing with you if you decide to come back and try to deliberately do yourself. If you would prefer to discuss this matter further you can email me direct via the contact address on our website.
Negative experience: The corse was in really bad condition, large coverage off moss. Can't beleve at the end of April that they would still be on winter Tee's ? The 33% increase in price that was not advised when booking over the phone, I queried this after the round and was met with nothing less that resistance rather than this on an Individual basis. The rise in price did not come through in corse condition. Comparable to roucken glen golf corse
Hi Scott, as was explained to you at reception before you left we do advise of pricing when booking the course as a pay-to-play customer. The increase in price is our first since opening in 2009 and in our opinion (one most likely shared by our membership of over 500) is certainly justified. To point out that the course has a coverage of moss which is evident on a few of the fairways is not something we would argue. I'm sure you're aware we're just coming out of a particularly wet winter and with growth coming a bit later in the year there's no doubt there will be moss - this will reduce significantly as the warmer weather brings growth to the course. We do have mats on our par 3 holes to protect the tees after recently scarifying, reseeding and top dressing all our tees - all tees will be in play from Saturday this week to coincide with our members fixture schedule.
Positive experience: Balls a bit worn could do with replacing them , like hitting rocks sometimes
Positive experience: Similar set up to Topgolf but much cheaper. £11 for 100 balls. My only criticism, being left handed is the location of the screens in the bays; kept worrying during swinging I was gonna hit them. The lower bays are apparently much wider though.
Fantastic experience: Amazing course, 9 holes all designed to replicate famous holes from golf. Bunkers are huge. Very playable and in fantastic condition. 10/10
Fantastic experience: Great driving range friendly professional staff .
Fantastic experience: I took two teenage boys here they love it
Positive experience: A good place to practice. Nice facilities and I like their top up card system for the driving range.
Fantastic experience: Great facilities nice staff
Fantastic experience: Cracking 9 hole course and great driving range
Fantastic experience: We went to the cafe for a quick lunch and it was great. Simple menu rather than big fancy meals excellent home made soup defo be trying again.
Negative experience: Was good until I realised Newton Mearns driving range, playsport when are u going to install top tracer or ball tracking systems in?
Fantastic experience: So friendly and helpful. Got a few good clubs to hire and free ones for my 10 year old. Mats were in good condition and there were plenty of targets to aim at. If you are the least bit interested in improving you should give it a try.
Fantastic experience: Sport centre style cafe, warm, nice staff Good lunch. Will be back next time I'm in the area.
Negative experience: Football let’s it down. It’s run by one of the rudest people I’ve ever met who quite frankly I’m shocked still has a business
Hi Sam, sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience using the football facility however this is not part of the Playsport Golf business and your review has been left on the wrong site.

Fantastic experience: Great course, excellent facilities.
Positive experience: The driving range here is great.
Fantastic experience: Great value
Positive experience: Playable all year long. Only 92 of the golf courses in Scotland (17%) are true links courses. This comes very close. Greenkeepers have incorporated sand into the turf. Result: nice clean shots, rather than those soggy, wet, chunky divots, taken from poor parkland courses without drainage. *Yes, of course low handicappers can play to the changing course conditions.* Layout 8/10 Challenge 7/10 Nostalgia 8/10 Fees - £20 for 18 (20/09/16)- 9/10 Condition 7/10 Wind - usually always present. 10/10 :) Staff 7/10 Overall score IMHO - 7/10. Well worth an experience. Tip: if you're a med to low handicapper? Play off the medal tees. Much more fun. Negative - ball cleaners haven't been changed in years. Bit stinky. Otherwise we'll done to Greenkeepers.
Fantastic experience: Very well maintained 9 hole course, very rarely affected by weather. Reasonable prices for non members. Excellent practice facility and 2 storey driving range.
Positive experience: Excellent golf course, for exceptional value.
Fantastic experience: Love this place its a really good golf course
