JD Gyms Brierley Hill

Fantastic experience: Bit busy at peak times, but as it's 24hour can train when i like, great staff, great equiptment, everything i was looking for.

Negative experience: Gym is 24/7 but the changing rooms are closed from 00:00 till 5am why? Came to the gym straight after work it was 4:40 still in work clothes wanted to get change in changing room but was closed, so went out from the gym got change in the car left bag in it and went back to gym but the QR code wasn't working tried few times but nothing changed so I came back home, what a waste of time. If there is keypad next to changing room why members don't get a code to access the changing room? What about the toilets are they close too? I'm ending my membership and going back to Pure Gym.

Fantastic experience: Most aesthetically pleasing gym ive been to it is a massive gym with a huge variety of machines and weights to choose from changing rooms are clean the staff are welcoming and friendly i definitely recommend this gym

Positive experience: It’s a really gym absolutely huge. The weights machines could do with upgrading and a few smaller Slamballs but it’s really nice. There’s no paper towels or spray so people don’t wipe down machines they’ve just used so bring a cloth

Positive experience: Its a good gym with the ladies only area ect and the assault bikes my only issue is the majority of treadmills are always broken but other than that its a good gym

Negative experience: Pros: Decent variety equipment, Spacious Decent parking Cons: Dirty, Lots of worn down equipment, Wobbly seats. Worth the £10 I paid for the month, but wouldn't pay anymore than that. Much better gyms in the area for the same price as JD's usual cost.

Negative experience: Worst gym i ve ever been in my life Music from the heat programs is louder than my earphones, i dont know why i have to listen to their musi so loud when there are rooms to do their training with the doors closed

Positive experience: It would have been even better, if the gym had sauna as well

Positive experience: I dont mind this gym but please build a SAUNA. I dont wanna keep going all the way to the other JD gyms because this one doesn't have it. I hope the company is at least considering it?

Fantastic experience: Great gym, lots of kit and all really well spaced out, so even when it’s busy you don’t feel like you’re too close to anyone else. Lately there’s been a few bits that have been out of order for a while but they seem to have been sorted out in a fairly timely manner.

Negative experience: Some genius recently decided to permanently attach all the clips the wrong way around on the machines so the cables are all twisted when doing exercises i understand you can use other clips to straighten it out however all the clips in the gym are now bolted to the machines so theres no extras to use...

Positive experience: A great, clean and well equipped gym. But far too busy. Unless I go at 5 in the morning, it is hopeless.

Positive experience: It's a good spacious gym with plenty of equipment and okay prices. However I think they could do with adding a extra one of the popular machines like the chest fly/rear delt machine and the leg press. Changing rooms are decent apart from some of the showers turning off very quick and getting too hot.

Positive experience: It's open 24 hours, has showers, changing room, lockers and a separate women's area. I just wish the changing rooms didn't close at midnight and It would be great if the women's area was bigger. But other than that, I will continue to use this gym.

Positive experience: Affordable but very busy at certain times

Negative experience: I absolutely love jd gyms but I got PLUS membership and using Brierley hill branch and unfortunately I’ve been inform that I can use gym only once a day. Other gyms you can enter as many times as you want but even with my plus membership I can’t use my gym more than once. And today manager told me I have to upload picture on my account. That’s not a problem for me to put my picture on my account but as plus member I expect more to get from that. I’ll cancel my membership.

Fantastic experience: Well equipped and decently maintained, imo the price is pretty reasonable also. They do a decent job keeping the place clean and generally take care of any issues with broken or non functional equipment quickly. It does get very busy during peak hours (around 5pm) but that's to be expected. It seems to be a pretty relaxed and friendly place to workout.

Negative experience: JD gym has to many people who are texting or hogging the machines

Fantastic experience: I use JD gyms all over the midlands, the JD at Brierley hill has to be the biggest and best by far! Plenty of space, and with an open space classes you can get extra motivation by watching and hearing the class in the background. Ollie the general manager has kept this place clean!

Negative experience: I’ve cancelled my subscription last month but today I’ve checked my bank and £34.99 has been taken out my account, I don’t know why that has happened but I’m pissed about it.

Fantastic experience: One of the nicest gyms out there. Love coming here.

Positive experience: Good but like all JD GYMS the internet is terrible and my music is constantly buffering on their wifi and I have no signal using my own data

Positive experience: Decent gym, plenty of equipment, only down side is the need to take your phone so you can get in and put and the signal issues there, otherwise I wouldn't take my phone, I go to train, don't need a phone for that

Positive experience: I like the equipment, evenings can be busy but oh my god they have no heating. It is VERY VERY cold everywhere. Even after working out im still cold. I see people in coats on the treadmill. I dont know why, cause when i mention its cold all they say is yeah it is, they dont say what is wrong. So thats why i took off a star. Hopefully their new gym in Oldbury will have heating.

Positive experience: The fact you have to go fill your water up in the toilets is why it only got 3 stars

Negative experience: I'm sure this gym would be great if you could actually gain access. I've been a member for 6 months now and I've never been able to get in. The JD app is a complete waste of time because it never works for me. Keep getting a 'barcode disabled' error. There doesn't seem to be any problem with taking the money out of my bank account every month though. Would be useful if the two members of staff I saw today behind the barriers would stop chatting to each other, actually do their job and help me get in. I walked away after 10 mins.

Positive experience: Really great gym, open 24/7. The gym is always clean, is aesthetically pleasing and has lots of equipment. Only Mark down is for no CCTV in parking and not that well lit either.

Positive experience: Clean, cold gym... Literally freezing cold with loud music to blow your eardrums.

Fantastic experience: Great gym loved coming here before I moved from Brierley hill, great and reasonable price usually a busy gym but the equipment is top notch miss going to this gym everything is very clean and they do good classes. Highly recommend this gym over any other in the area!

Negative experience: By far the worse gym I’ve ever been into dead atmosphere and the equipment has all been acquired from a previous gym This isn’t like ur typical jd gym

Positive experience: I signed up to this gym to make use of the classes. On a few occasions now I have arranged childcare and left work earlier to make it to my class (which has been bought forward due to a change in timetable) only to find out on arrival that the class is not going ahead. This is very frustrating.

Positive experience: Very Nice Gym and nice atmosphere, however the flat barbell bench press whatever behemoth has been training on both of those benches in a morning my god the sweat you leave behind is not even like sweat its like some sort of slime staring you in the face. Unfortunately as I have not been able to use the flat benchpress barbell I can only give 3 stars, other than that it is a really nice gym despite the disgusting creature that leaves his slime on the bench.

Fantastic experience: Great place has gone much better after JD have taken over this gym. The ladies section has gone better since there are actual mats for cardio and stretching exercises. Ladies locker room is big and clean too with all the facilities a girl needs. Now just waiting on a ladies only sauna then it would be perfect

Fantastic experience: Arrived at 09:30 today (Sunday), plenty of parking and still some available at 10:25 (also LOADS of parking opposite due to a 2 hour free council carpark). The gym had a few in but plenty of equipment and space available, gym was clean and plenty of staff wandering around in case you needed to speak to them. Much better than the other local low cost 24/7 gym nearby!

Positive experience: It's a good gym to go to. It has everything you'll probably ever need in a gym. It can get busy in there somedays which leads to going on equipment would usually not use but that can be a good thing. Overall its a good gym for the money that you do pay.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere in the gym, the staff are amazing and very helpful. The ladies only gym is great as well and the classes are fantastic. Would highly recommend Jordan's burn classes as he puts your thought your paces. Best gym in the area!

Fantastic experience: JD Brierley Hill is an excellent gym with ample equipment; extensive offering of classes; knowledgeable PTs and friendly staff. The gym is always spotlessly clean and tidy, even during peak times. This gym really is quite impressive since the refit, yet still has a very warm and welcoming feel to it. Would highly recommend to all, from complete beginner to experienced gym goer!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, top end equipment and loads of space to train comfortably. Great parking on site. Compared with other gyms in the area I would say that for the price it can’t be beat. Another key point is that there are so many squat racks and barbell benches available, you will never have to wait during your workout or choose another piece of equipment entirely. Great place.
