Better Gym Sleaford

Negative experience: Disappointing. We made a complaint about poor cleanliness in the showers and general poolside area in June this year. We did not return, after that time, but received no response until we rang to cancel our membership in September . Then, a response was promised, but has still not been received.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym a couple of years ago when I first began my fitness journey and the team is so welcoming & friendly. It is an amazing gym with incredible facilities. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym to join in the Sleaford area!

Fantastic experience: Great facility, well maintained and clean. Team are really friendly and professional.

Negative experience: The gym is alright, but trying to swim is impossible because the pool is always full of pensioners using it as a social club. Raised a couple of times with the centre and with head office but never received a proper response so cancelled my membership. If you’re looking for a social club then this place is for you, but if you’re looking to increase your fitness then I’d probably try elsewhere.

Negative experience: Great facility however it is severely let down due to how dirty the facilities are. The tiles around the pool are brown and unkempt, there is always dirt in the water floating around you which is very off putting. Also in the sauna under the benches is also extremely dirty and possibly never been cleaned even though reachable. We much prefer the sister better centre, sleaford leasure, as much cleaner. It has been mentioned to staff about the dirt however has still not been cleaned.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym staff are very friendly and helpful. I play on the football pitch there must Friday good fun.

Fantastic experience: We booked my daughters birthday party here. We had 1 hour pool party with floats, followed by 1 hour disco in the fitness studio. The staff were excellent the whole time. Thank you. My daughter had the best birthday party

Fantastic experience: Could not make you feel anymore comfortable and welcome. Donna is excellent in explaining and going through programming, very friendly and very thorough. Facilities excellent and pool warm. I highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: Really not happy about having to pay £15 for a day pass just to access the pool, to then be told when we arrive to use it, that the pool is being used for swimming lessons and isn’t open to the public? That’s all well and good but don’t charge the public £15 for a DAY pass when they can’t use it during specific times of the DAY!! Will not be coming here again, I’m definitely not signing up here for a monthly membership that’s for sure.

Positive experience: Friendly staff. Average amount and types of equipment. Good for a no-nonsense quick workout. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: My situation is that I was trying to cancel my membership due to changing location alot. First I tried their website but the membership cancellation page is difficult to find, clearly designed that way on purpose - I did find it at a later stage when I realised payments were still going through. After that I went to the front desk, the unenthusiastic woman who was on the desk at the time said she'd cancel it and I signed a sheet. 2 months later I realised 2 payments have gone through without my knowledge, I tried calling the front desk and a different lady was helpful but said the membership was still active and couldnt refund as I recieved no email of cancellation as proof. It's also worth noting that they will still always charge you one extra payment after cancellation....for what? But corporate gyms feel it's necessary - complete scam, dont give them the benefit. The actual gym is alright if you're a middle aged woman/elderly and like doing zumba classes. The weights area is workable but they took away the functional fitness area which was the only good part of the gym for my needs. The other receptionists are all nice and friendly, I just ran into the mongo who cant do her job. TL;DR Gym cant cancel memberships properly, owes me money and is suited to middle aged women and the elderly.

Positive experience: Very good gym, spacious, bright and with optimal temperature in the room. Four stars because the group workout we had in the lower class (the floor) was dirty (at aerobics exercises you lie down and breathe in the dust)

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed using the gym for the first time, I usually attend the leisure centre site, but this is having new equipment and a refresh this week, so had the opportunity to try out the Oakside Park venue. I like the facilities, modern equipment, As with both sites, the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Negative experience: Shocking customer service shown by the manager. Have so far spent 5 weeks calling, emailing and leaving messages at the front desk for him to call us regarding quite a simple matter that evidently only he can resolve, but absolutely no response from him. Have now escalated to head office in the hopes they can help. UPDATE on 30 May 2016: Having spoken to, and emailed 1life head office, at their request, I still haven't received a response from anyone. The most appalling customer service I've experienced in a loong time.

Negative experience: This gym is very outdated! They have just put a new cross training room in, which is good, but the rest is very old and tatty. It's in serious need of new equipment, as all the equipment there looks about 20 years old. Certainly wouldn't recommended it.
