Negative experience: Read this review before Anytime fitness have it fraudulently removed! Used to love using this gym when I trained in the late morning or early after noon. But when I changed jobs and was forced to attend at either rush hour or late at night, the love affair was soon over. Not only did I start to notice how dirty and tired all the equipment was. I also noticed how small the gym actually is. I know gyms get busy after work, but this place is on another level. There are only three racks that are the only places you can squat, bench press, OHP, or deadlift, this just simply isn’t enough equipment. You have no chance of getting a rack for anything because groups train and pass the equipment around their friends (it’s a very ‘cliquey’ gym). The dumbbell selection is very limited too, with only one of each weight across the range. Furthermore, the weight increments are 2.5kg, not 2kg, so this further reduces the options. So your other option is train at like 21:00. Well that’s impossible because the place turns into a teenage creche at that time. One key fob is scanned and about four youths enter. Which to be honest just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. There’s no respect for the equipment, weight plates are left everywhere, exercise balls being thrown around. Just all in all not a place I want to be in. The flooring is lifted in places which I’ve caught my foot on multiple times. The cobwebs have built up to an acceptable level and the place just generally needs some TLC. I was told about a year ago that within a couple of weeks they were getting a date for their refurb. Well that hasn’t materialised yet, has it? I doubt you’ll see this review as the club removes any negative reviews. I know this as a fact because my friend left a genuine 1* review that doesn’t seem to show up on here. All of their positive reviews go on about how amazing the staff are. And yes, the staff are nice for the most part. Some of them seem to have an attitude of only speaking to people they deem worthy of their attention though. For nearly £40.00 a month with a Puregym around the corner, they need to do A LOT better. “Amazing staff” isn’t enough to justify the cost I’m afraid! Oh, the music is absolutely terrible as well.

Negative experience: This used to be a five star gym. Sadly it’s now old, dirty and the air con is hardly ever working or the staff just don’t have it in. It regularly runs out of toilet paper, there is pee on the toilets, it’s sad to have watched it decline. I have been here since the day it opened and we have been promised a refit for nearly five years and so far nothing but excuses. It’ll take a lot for me to renew my membership this time round which I’m really sad about. The air con was just on 21 degrees. We now wet cloths to clean the equipment that are kept in bowl. There are so many other things but frankly I’m fed up saying. It’s embarrassing for me to keep telling staff about things. I will say the staff are mostly amazing, a special shout out to Marco.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, Gutted it's not a nightclub anymore but life moves on. Personally I'm not a huge gym lover, prefer to sit on my bum, eat pasties and drink beer, but in order to sustain that life style you need to balance it with some fitness. Anytime is a little bit pricey when there are other options in town but they do offer help if payments can't be met etc and the staff here are so fantastic and helpful that I'm sure they will do what is needed to help anyone out, both my son and wife go here and both felt quite intimidated by going to the gym but both have said that the staff make it a very welcoming experience no matter your fitness level. They have a good range of equipment and machines the free weights area can get a little crowded but there's enough space to do what I need and the 24 hour aspect means its never too busy to get a good workout, the showers and other facilities are always well kept. If your looking for a gym I can highly recommend Anytime as an option.

Fantastic experience: The staff at this gym are really lovely, experienced and helpful. I have mental health issues so my attendance at the gym is a bit up and down but have felt really supported by the staff, in particular Marco. It really does make difference for me.

Fantastic experience: Top gym. Good range of equipment, clean, and friendly staff. Gym music is a bit loud if you're working out near a speaker so noise-cancelling headphones advised, but I'm nitpicking.

Fantastic experience: Good facilities, machines and staff. I love bathrooms with private showers. The only drawback I find is that the air conditioning is very strong. I have gotten sick twice in the gym because of the air.

Fantastic experience: I've been to: Fitness4Less Puregym Xercise4Less (Now JD) Active Gym (Yate) Fitness First TheGymGroup These are all cost effective for sure. But the quality comes with the money. This is the most money I have spent and it's worth every penny. The other members who are willing to spend the money are serious about training, they are respectful of other members and the equipment generally speaking and noticablly Ive made more progress in a smaller amount of time due to being able to get on the equipment with ease. Shorter workouts, better quality of training, no one cueing for equipment, noone spending an hour on the phone or people saying they have 10+ sets left still. There is a common respect and people train correctly. I have seen a lot of the older people more open and friendly in helping newer and younger members how to train safely or teaching an adjustment in their technique which is really helpful - not something that occurs in the above that I have experienced.

Fantastic experience: Used the ones in Bradley stoke and cribbs and was also at active for a while. This place is just a cut above the rest. Super friendly staff and bathrooms/showers are always clean which is a huge bonus

Positive experience: Not enough squat racks or barbells meaning barbell exercises are out for the most part at even remotely busy times. And, even when you can get hold of a barbell you'll spend half your time looking for the right plates. 3 Stars for friendly staff though.

Negative experience: Definitely not worth it for how much you pay a month and especially trying to cancel. You have to pay for a whole month after you cancelled and even though you might not go to the gym. Absolute bs. Good advice; go somewhere else

Negative experience: Again hidden payments rolling contract makes it nearly impossible to leave the gym even after over 2 years of paying a membership. After cancellation of my membership they still decided to keep taking payments absolute joke.

Negative experience: Got mugged off as i took out a six month membership with the gym then when the six months was over I was still getting charged as I needed to give them prior warning of cancellation? Even though online it says it's a six months contract so obviously they have six months warning that the membership term will end then?? Never made this clear when signing up and is bull advertising if they state it's a six month contract as it is instead an ongoing one.

Fantastic experience: A great 24hr gym. Good equipment, friendly and helpful staff, a good range of classes. Clean and today. Full of good members! I’ve been a member at Anytime Fitness Yate for 2 years now and I wouldn’t change gyms unless I moved to a different area. They have a great Refer a Friend scheme and the gym staff are fully supportive of members. Anytime Fitness Yate would be a lot better if there were better trained staff that know a lot more about fitness and health and if they had a wider range of equipment.

Fantastic experience: Pitty the night club finished was great when people could go to the night club at Yate Shopping Centre especially Friday and Saturday nights - in my view Anytime Fitness - should be Turned Back in to a night club cause it was much better as a night club and save people time and trouble going all the way in to Bristol City Centre

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! It's clean, tidy, modern and there are lots of facilities. The machines are well maintained and numerous, and there is a large studio upstairs which can be used after hours for boxing/yoga/dancing etc. It should be noted that I only visit this gym after staff hours, so can't comment there, but my induction was pleasant and beneficial. The star of the show for me at Anytime is the shower rooms! No dingy, dirty changing rooms or communal showers - instead they have 6 (I believe, may be 7) self contained wet rooms which include large shower, toilet, hairdryer and benches/bins/clothes hooks. It makes the "after workout" shower actually a bit more like a pampering to be honest! One gym membership I'll actually keep running!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful staff members. Anytime Fitness is a great company allowing people to training when best suits them with affordable memberships and convenient locations.

Positive experience: Good staff and equipment but find a lot of these people who do 1 rep then sit on there phone for 15 mins which stops you using whatever they are on. As said helpful staff Good amount of equipment but need to do something about time wasters and posers.

Positive experience: Easily accessible gym with plenty of parking which you can stay up to 4 hours in. The gym has a good range of equipment and plenty of free weights with 3 power racks to train in. 3 studios in total, 1 is use for spin classes. Staff are friendly and willing to offer advise. Other users are polite and it creates a positive atmosphere. The gym being opened 24hours is a great positive and means you can skip the busy period of other users in the gym.
