Negative experience: Terrible attitude from a staff member ruined my experience after 2 years membership she had poor communication, and was entitled and confrontational, my membership was cancelled without notification and without reimbursement of my remaining membership term due to a mild disagreement. I’ve witnessed fights go unpunished,I think they just go with whatever policy suits their agenda best on the day.

Negative experience: Has ridiculous timings for children they can only access it between 6am-6pm I’m at work the whole day and I drop my son off at they gym at 7 and they turn me away.

Fantastic experience: I was undecided whether the Village Gym was right for me, I spoke to Callum who took the time to show me all the facilities available. A friend suggested I could use her complimentary 7 day pass, Callum arranged this and provided excellent customer service by keeping in touch by email with suitable dates, quite gym and pool times. Nothing was too much trouble for Callum, approachable, friendly and very professional, he's a great advocate for the Village Gym I would thoroughly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Jake who was so helpful, professional, and proactive in setting up my membership. He went out of his way to explain everything, with humour, in detail. I was really impressed....to the extent i signed up then and there, rather than visiting the competition as planned. Good job!

Negative experience: Good gym ruined by members! Shame because the gym and spa facilities are pretty good (although general maintenance could be improved) and its close to home. . Staff are generally very good and helpful, especially Thomas (gym) and Anthony (pool area), who are really friendly, customer focused and always on the go! Having been a member for some years I have seen the standards (by users) get worse year on year. Many don't understanding the concept of a 'members' gym, where you have consideration for other users and treat it like their 'private' facility - soak changing areas, dirty towels for staff to sort, shavings in sink, 'Insta' selfies in changing room, foul language in social spaces, no showers from sauna to pool. ...... i may look elsewhere!

Negative experience: The only negative is that there is lack of cleaning in the changing room especially around shower area. The swimming pool had bunch hair in it. The management need to focus on cleaning.

Fantastic experience: The gym frequently has new equipment invested; there's good facilities on site and a range of classes across different times of the day. Donna on reception is fab, as is Kaz. So helpful and friendly!

Fantastic experience: I am delighted Sarah O’Sullivan is back teaching yoga at the village, it was not the same without her. Her classes are always just what I need. She goes the extra mile with added touches that enhance the experience, this week we picked Luna Cards, it adds depth to the experience. All her classes are different, I come away everytime with a new yoga learning. This week I was at a low ebb personally and it made such a difference. I left feeling grounded, peaceful and connected… the feeling lasted beyond the class. I thoroughly recommend Sarah’s classes to anyone who is in the village Solihull, she meets the needs of all from beginner to advanced

Negative experience: Changing rooms are falling apart, cracked tiles, shower cubicles aren't the best and the floor is always dirty. The gym equipment isn't in the greatest shape either, definitely in need of a refurb all-round

Fantastic experience: We were shown around the Village gym at Solihull by a lovely guy named Jake Stafford. He was friendly, informative and interested in our needs and circumstances. My husband is retired and has some health issues and Jake was understanding and sympathetic and suggested ways in which the gym could be of benefit. He introduced us to the facilities, equipment and explained what was on offer and helped us choose the best membership options for our needs. We’ve signed up for a year and looking forward to it. Negative experience: You come into the gym and have a workout in a weight area that's missing some basic equipment. Then you go and try to relax in Swimming pool and jacuzzi that disgustingly dirty ( there's actual dirt on the bottom of Jacuzzi floor around the corners). Then you can top it off with taking a shower in a mouldy and dirty shower cabin and walk to your locker on a sticky floor. Update 27/08/24 Went to pool to relax with my wife. There was bunch of tissues and human hair floating in the water. Absolutely disgusting. Informed the managed on duty but I was told that towards the end of the week its always like this because they clean it once a week. Excuse me ? Maybe clean more often then ???!

Negative experience: Absolutely filthy, especially the pool and the shower area. Pool/jacuzzi never cleaned, mould everywhere as well as floating trash, hair, tissues and whatever else.

Fantastic experience: Went yesterday for a day pass. The staff was amazing especially the ginger lady at the front and the manager. The place is clean, not crowded and has a very good atmosphere to it. Way better then david lloyds across the street

Negative experience: I’ve just joined up to this gym and I had a guest pass The receptionist Asian receptionist Young lad “addy” was very rude. He stands by the counter and acting like a stuck up and snobby little child. I brought my friends in on a guest pass and he essentially forced them to fill out a membership enquiry when all they wanted to do was come on a guest pass. Also I left my towel at home and when I asked him for one he said it’s not a hotel bring your own. I’m leaving the gym and going back to Nuffield, at least they have staff members who don’t get a pump off 5kg dumbbells and think they can roll around with the ego of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Gym is supposed to improve my mental health yet this delinquent only ruins it further.

Fantastic experience: I had a trial PT session with Thomas today, he made me feel very comfortable and talked me through how to use lots of pieces of equipment. He showed me lots of different exercises to do and made sure I felt comfortable and confident with every exercise. I would highly recommend him if you are considering using a PT.

David has been fab helping to introduce me to the gym and created a plan for me to follow. He has helped me to feel at ease when I felt a bit uncomfortable entering a gym for the first time. I’d highly recommend him as a trainer

Fantastic experience: I love the village gym. It's lovely and local to us and always very clean. There's new equipment constantly coming in which is great to see. The staff are super friendly too, Kez always has the biggest smile to welcome you and Chris always answers my questions - nothing is too much trouble if you ask for help. Also, I've also heard Mim giving PT sessions, she is so patient and encouraging of her clients of all ages and its so lovely to see. I shall be a member of the village gym for a long time to come ♥️♥️

Fantastic experience: I initially came to the Solihull branch just to view the facilities, but Jake Stafford’s professionalism and friendly demeanour convinced me to become a member. His excellent customer service and welcoming energy was outstanding. The gym itself has a good layout with classes, a pool and sauna area (mixed) and new equipment on the main gym floor.

At the village I felt a sense of community where everyone looks out for eachother. Also when I was looking just for some extra information I asked a girl called Frankie who was able to answer any of my questions and has made me feel even better. I am excited to sort a membership and visit here more often

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were helped by Chris sales manager at the gym. Chris was knowledgeable and gave us the best flexible membership deal more than we could get online. Absolutely love the facilities. The class instructors are friendly and ensure class is adjusted for newcomers.

Negative experience: For a price they're charging it's extremely dirty. There's black mould in pretty much every area. The vents are so dusty they're barely visible. There are flies in the bathroom. The cleaner is barely ever there, have only seen the changing rooms being "cleaned" once, but it was just the cleaner smudging the dirt around the place with an old mop. All other times she's just sitting around. No cleaning schedule to be found. There's a sewage smell in the shower/bathroom area. There's pink and black mould in the jacuzzi and the pool. There's always so much debri, such as massive clumps of hair, tissues, some other trash, in the pool that it clings to the body when swimming, which is not only absolutely disgusting but also a hazard if inhaled, let alone all the bacteria from it. The question of how often it is cleaned shouldn't be something the customers wonder if it is cleaned often enough. I raised this issue multiple times yet no change. There's also no staff in the gym keeping an eye on the cleanliness and organising the weights, especially in the more busy times. I am extremely disappointed. Edit: about 2 months in, zero change. Pool still absolutely filthy, still flies in the bathroom area, mould and dust everywhere. I am appalled. I've been going to swimming pools my whole life, this is by far the most disgusting one. I keep informing the staff about the state of the facilities, they all seem surprised and promise to tell the management. It is obvious that this never happens since there's been no change.

Fantastic experience: Kerry Bailey is the queen of multi-tasking! Always happy, helpful, and so efficient; queries resolved almost before you’ve even finished asking, whether in person or over the telephone.

Negative experience: Took 2 months to get set up on the app as they spelt my name wrong, even though I spelt it out to the when registering & asked every time of the 10 times I had to call them. I was "assured" lied to that it had been set up correctly & it was my fault, completely incompetent. Snooty, unfriendly vibe in the gym, the swimming pool & sauna are "nice" but nothing special. I'd go somewhere else if I was you for the money.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible customer service. Called up 4 times to cancel as they needed to reset my account so I could do it online still not been able to do it. Kept getting lied to and fobbed off. Lied to about getting a call from a manager to get this sorted. Then sent an email saying I have to give a 3 month notice, when I joined I was told I need to give 1 calender months notice. Mis-sold the membership. Happy to take people money but when you want leave all of a sudden you need to speak to a specific person who isn't bothered doing their job. Spoke to a perosn named chris who was supposed to call me and he didn't call and when I called in he was very rude and cut the call and didn't want to take the complaint i wanted to make about their service. Stay Away from this place!!!

Negative experience: I joined them last year, and did not know that there are so many hours for kids to swim especially during weekend. I tried to escape from the kids swimming time amd swim during 12noon - 2pm. Last week, I found out even the fast lane was reserved for baby swimming in the non kid period. Their management is so ridiculous

Fantastic experience: Spent roughly 2 years at the gym. The machines were greatly distributed allowing you to complete whichever workout you like, while management promoted innovation by constant changes, giving the gym a fresh look now and then. Bonus points since they have replaced the boxing bag upon my request, I was amazed. The price to quality relationship is very fair since you also get to enjoy sauna, swimming pool and discount to their restaurant. The staff was friendly and provided a good service. This is a 5 star from my end, however small things break and were being ignored for slightly longer than they should be - it’s not like it bothers, but its definitely noted. I also didn’t like the fact that my personal data wasn’t deleted which I requested when I unfortunately had to cancel the membership. Recommended, if it wasn’t for my relocation I would still make part of Village Gym community

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with the variety of classes provided at the Gym. The instructors are expert in their field and very friendly. Always open for a quick chat reg. any fitness queries.Can't forget to mention the reception team is lovely. Love them all. Thank you Solihull team.

Negative experience: Nice gym with plenty of equipment. Friendly and helpful reception area staff. Pool is always nice and warm. Negatives - changing rooms and pool often smell terrible of drains and although you're not allowed a mobile phone by the pool, the lifeguard cannot stop using his! Car park is often flooded and the lines need repainting.

Fantastic experience: Frankie was a great help today as I couldn't remember my locker number so she kindly when i requested came to my assistant and confirmed this was regular locker number by scanning my wrist band in the system. Its a been a long day!! Vicky.and

Fantastic experience: Just back from freezing due hip op. Amazing how busy aqua aerobics is now and more sessions are needed but hard to get session leaders no doubt. I sit up till midnight to book for following week. It’s hard but worth it as present classes are so good

Positive experience: Having been here for a while, I feel that there are some things that need to be improved. The wash basin in the female changing room and pool always smells terrible of drains. Also, winged insects fly at the sink. And, many locker locks are not working. There is a lot of hair in the swimming pool. It would be nice if the swimming pool could be cleaner.

Fantastic experience: Again a big shout out to JAKE BIGNELL my son does swimming classes every week and we had forgot his goggles and Jake seeing him upset without hesitation went and got him a spare pair to use for the session saving the day again,he is always cheerful and great with the kids a great asset to the company thanks again

Sus is so inspirational and motivating, she really knows how to motivate the class to get the best results. I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to each class I’d also like to say how great and motivating Jake Bignell is as an instructor at Air on a Monday night, there is always great banter with all the class members. ️‍♂️️‍♂️ Jake is very supportive in showing you how to use the equipment to get the best results .
