Positive experience: Visited today while in Gloucester for a work trip. This place is rough! Weights are all over the place. A member of staff was on duty, but wasn’t keeping the place tidy, giving some customers implicit permission to drop and walk away. Barbells were ALL in need of a good service. They were dangerously sticky, so had asymmetric spin friction. Anyone doing anything even slightly technical risks a bad sprain! I had to go wash my hands three times. The equipment was variously sticky, dusty or just plain smelly! But on the positive front - 1) The clientele was a-mazing! I had a smile on my face all evening. It was like every comedy Instagram egolifter turned up to play! Lots of weight smashing and guys managing a single bicep curl with the help of two friends, then celebrating the W. 2) Despite the extra handwashing needed, I got a great workout and it only cost me £7.50. Can’t complain about that. Would recommend.

Negative experience: When i first joined about a year ago. I was content and whenever there was a little issue , dirty changing rooms. Missing or brokedown equipment i would say well for 18 quid a month so what. But the last several months , its gone bad to worse. Ppl shaving in changing rooms and leaving hair everywhere. Rubbish in and around the gym area. Kit not put away. No one wipes down equipment after use. I have on regular occasions sent emails to head office telling them of these issues ,never so much as got a response. Kit from my locker removed or stolen. Nothing done. People spraying water and drinks into lockers, cable tying your lock. Its such a shame as this is my local gym but id rather walk 20 minutes out my way and pay double than put up with this rubbish. Im not angry. Just genuinely disappointed. Think they should consider sweeps of locker rooms by staff. Stricter rules an enforcement to abusive members. Increased monthly cost if it helps maintain the equipment better and cleanliness of gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym has the best Personal Trainers with brilliant advice and support, even if they’re doing checks of machines they are always available for any suggestions and you don’t feel pressured to book sessions if you’re not ready. Really good machines available, great free classes, and open 24 hours which is super handy.

Positive experience: Was visiting the area for work and was happy to be able to purchase a 3 day pass for the gym with no fuss or hassle. All done online, got my access code and was free to come and go from the gym with ease. Would have liked to see a few more machines e.g. glute kickback, but the views from the gym are actually stunning! I went early morning, and look at that sunrise! Excellent stuff

Negative experience: I pay £20 a month to not be able to use the free weights downstairs when a class is on, I can peacefully use the weights with out cause a disturbance, unless there paying a premium it’s ridiculous

Negative experience: Lat pulldown attachments missing with no replacement for almost a month. Seated row machine broken for almost 6 months Equipment constantly broken or missing without being replaced. Update: Lat pulldown bar has now been replaced +1 star

Negative experience: It's not a very safe place to train. Had one lad clearly high as a kite being very paranoid and shifty around me. No staff there, and no real security. The equipment is over subscribed, and in many areas over used and in need of maintenance. It has the kind of vibe of a rough secondary school. Not the kind of place your average adult would feel comfortable going. I will be cancelling my membership shortly and finding somewhere more comfortable to train with a better community.

Positive experience: It’s ok for the equipment and all the machines but there’s weights scattered everywhere and the dumbbells are never in the right places. Place is clean can’t complain about that considering the price 17.99 a month it’s the best for the price but just expect the place to be a mess and people don’t know what there doing, air conditioning is way too low staff are very friendly still apart from all the downsides for the price the best gym your going to get for the price

Negative experience: I would give minus 5stars if I only could. Avoid at all cost. Don't waste your money on this place. No proper gym equipment and the one available constantly broken. Kids turned this gym into their playground. But, that's not the worst. Today while I was exercising on one of machines some young guy approached me and started demanding from me to move away and let him use machine. After I've explained to him that I haven't finished he called for his friend and they both started having a go at me and eventually threatening me with physical violence. Mean time manager of this apparently gym just ignored it all and told me to leave and call police outside if I want. I was left with no choice but to call police. Let's not forget that few weeks ago this gym was a crime scene (stabbing). I don't wanna be next . I've cancelled my membership straight away. Never ever that I pay again to be treated in such a way with no help from management.

Negative experience: Been a member here for 4 years. Over the last 6 months the Place has gone down hill. No staff, machine always broken for a long period, equipment everywhere. Toilets are dirty. Loads of equipment have been removed from the gym. No maintenance and no new equipment.

Negative experience: I thought I would enjoy this experience, but so far it has been very poor. After paying for membership I immediately booked an induction. I arrived promptly but couldn't find a member of staff despite hammering on the staff room door more than once. I thought I would raise this with the gym group via email, but in response I got an automated reply informing me, amongst other things, how to cancel my membership! So not impressed! So far: Staff zero stars. Customer service zero stars. I have now completed two sessions without an induction and compared to other budget gyms (Pure Gym are excellent), the Gym Group Gloucester is very poor. The toilets are disgraceful with the urinals taped over. The toilet cubicles are filthy, and no soap in the dispenser. Added to that the gym and equipment doesn't appear to ever get cleaned. I would say everything is grubby and not well cared for. I thought after COVID companies would take cleanliness a little more seriously.

Positive experience: Peak hours are very busy, late late evening or early early morning best times. Cheap enough price for monthly fee. Only use because its near to home. Some good equipment and weights but the other users are the annoying gym types. Weights left out. Rubbish around machines. Sit on equipment using phones. Once again for the price. Sure theres worse.

Negative experience: Bought this mainly for the boxing bag and found out they removed it. If they don’t want people misbehaving on it they need to put it in a place where there’s usually a member of staff or in view of a camera or just put a sign up. Taking it down is lazy and not good business.

Negative experience: For weeks/months stuff has been either missing from the gym in Gloucester or broken. Then you have a 2 day shut down for maintenance . To come back and nothing has been fixed or replaced . Broken Mirrors , broken or missing accessories. Also whole pads missing now on benches or machines. I know this gym is cheap but it’s beyond a joke now.

Positive experience: Constantly a mess, plates are all over the place Gym users use multiple pieces of kit and take up ridiculous amounts of room and none of the staff bat an eye Only one proper bench press even though it’s such a popular exercise Only redeeming quality is that it’s open 24hrs

Fantastic experience: The GymGroup Gloucester is one of the best in the town, honestly Yes. So there are some people which do not have any simple respect of noisy or education of leave the weights causing so much noisy and all them have already some behaviour discriminatory. Staffs most of them are lazy body but only one of them, only one in total used to see him cleaning the areas and clearly we can identify that is the only one which have attention at the gym and other ( he is strong, white, and small guy ), the others helps only to make space dirty and seating around when the other rather to use the machines. Even though isn’t the GymGroup fault. It’s is behaviours or whom in HR employees them. Time to let them out and leave the job to who wants to work at the GymGroup and stop to hire lazy ones.

Positive experience: Been using the Gym for over a year now, i cant praise Dan and the team enough they are great and everyone is welcome i love the vibe there, only thing letter it down is the music for classes, until a few months back the instructors could use there own play lists which is perfect for motivation , sadly this has stopped due to head office, the play lists provided HQ are generic and repetitive and not overly motivating and seen a few of the regular class goers drop off since in favour of solo workouts, would have been a 5 star apart from the music it is too generic now. No reflection on the team decision from HQ without member consultation.

Positive experience: I join gyms purely for class timetables, & this gym seems to be offering a fair bit more with their class frequency & variety now which is great to see! Id give it 5 stars if there were yoga/pilates/holistic classes as well. But overall the most affordable & modern gym in gloucester! Overlooking the really nice river (even if it is brown)

Everything is so simple and easy to use, I love the check in and out pods at the entrance, I love the app to book classes and to track your workouts, I enjoy the Yanga sports water with the varied flavours and it's just everything I need in a gym 5* set up and will definitely be continuing my membership, would highly recommend!

The classes are excellent and the instructors are very approachable which is great if you're a nervous newbie! Attending just a few times a week makes this gym very good value for money and you can also get your parking validated for the quays car park.

Negative experience: The gym is okay, but from August 1st the parking is no longer free, which defeats the point of having a cheap gym in the first place! End up paying more for parking than the membership. Gutted.

Negative experience: very nice service managing the contract, which makes a mistake and consequently the money disappears from the account when you want to cancel your membership, it is not so hard to do and the money still disappears from the account after contacting you, you find out that they do not see the cancellation of membership and the money will not be returned.

Negative experience: I actually write this review with my heart, I’ve recently moved to Gloucester and I’m disappointed, would avoid if your goal is strength training. The gym is cheap, it only has one bench press, no seated rows and no leg curls and doesn’t have any of the big matrix cross over machines (only the small ones). I got told off for carrying my gym bag around, well how am I meant to Cary my belt, straps, clips, water, phone and earphones ? It’s just safer to use my own bag because if I don’t then I’ll loose my stuff in the gym. If you want to just run on a treadmill indoors and if cardio only is your goal then this gym is perfect for you, it has way too many treadmills compared to weights and it’s missing a few vital machines and lacking quantity In my opinion. I’d like to also point out how packed it is always, fair play as they were suspending users for not wearing masks, but it would be necessary to remain alert for COVID in this gym. I’ve transferred to anytime fitness and it’s much better, it’s smaller but it has everything weight wise, they have done the right thing and only have a few treadmills rather than 100’s (which wastes precious gym space) and it’s also 24/7 and much closer to my home.
