Positive experience: A clean gym with plenty of equipment that’s marred by a very strange layout. Most PureGyms that I have been to are just a long rectangular building, but this is something else entirely… Some areas of equipment are on the opposite sides of this oddly shaped gym, but I would say they’re linked in terms of an overall workout routine, meaning it can be quite jarring when you need to stop everything and move from one end to the other. It’s a bit of a rats nest and is unlike other PureGyms I have visited in that regard. When you’re using the PureGym app to follow a workout and you need to stop and make your way across the entire building, weaving through the corridors it disrupts the entire routine but this is probably personal preference. The building appears secure, though it has an awful lot of unstaffed hours (way more than expected) so be sure to know what these are if you’re think of joining. All in all it has what you need at a gym and my other half likes the step class that she goes to each week.

Negative experience: Scan in doesn’t even work
Hi, thank you for leaving us this review. We are sorry to see this is 1 star. The app is not necessary to enter the gym. Members can use the pin pads as normal. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of PureGym for a few months now, using the gym nearest my home in Aylesbury. I have the gym membership that allows entry to over 200 gyms nationwide. I have a stayover in Northwich on Tuesdays, so I tried out the gym. I had a good gym experience at this gym. Lots of natural light and all the equipment I'd expect. It was a quieter gym than my local, which is an absolute bonus!

Negative experience: Biggest gym I’ve ever joined yet only 2 cable machines

Fantastic experience: **Outstanding value for money and a warm welcome** The customer service is over and above what I expected, and first impressions are: this gym is being managed to a high standard, is outstanding value for money, and the staff care about what they do. Well thought out/planned classes with trainers who guide you through in a motivated way whilst paying close attention to everyone's different fitness levels, ability, and needs. I feel spoilt for choice in relation to the number of great classes to choose from at this gym and everyone is so friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Haven’t a clue who thought it’d be a good idea to put in new weight racks without labelling where the weights go like the old racks were (not to mention the fact the new free weights have the shallowest grip imaginable), now if you want a pair of free weights you’ve got to stand there for 2mins like a lost child only to find the other dumbbell that completes the pair is on the floor on the far end because people don’t know where on the racks to put them, as well as this the toilets are a chemical/bio war zone. And why in gods name did someone think it was a good idea to cram all the machines that were just beyond the treadmills, into a tiny room at the back of the building where at some machines you can practically see the soul through the eyes of the person across from your because of how the machines are positioned. From the looks of this it was because they wanted to put in a strip of fake grass that people could throw ropes around on (haven’t seen a single person use it since its appearance), and can’t forget the fact that the upstairs area above the cycle machines forever smells like urine-esk sweat because for whatever reason there isn’t proper ventilation, so when you want to use the cables you have to endure the humidity of Japan because some poor lad is sweating pools worth doing cardio.

Fantastic experience: The only gym I’ve ever felt at home in. Staff are so friendly and helpful. When I started I was a complete newbie and with their help I have learnt so much and love working out. Paul Dean’s classes are my favourite, he always brings a fantastic energy and makes working out fun! The new equipment is amazing and I look forward to trying it all out!

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Paul Dean at Pure gym. His classes are great fun with great playlists. Lost a lot of weight when I could go to his classes every week. As a PT he pushes me and amazes me how strong I've gotten. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I love all the classes and instructors at Pure Gym but Paul Dean’s classes are absolutely great. I do both his kettlebells each week and his Stretch class is perfect. As a yogi it’s hard to find a good stretch but Paul manages to combine yoga with Pilates and it makes my week!

Fantastic experience: Really good spot, pretty much every piece of equipment you could ever want. Best thing though, the classes. Every other gym I've been to the classes are pretty dull, grin and bear it affairs, not here though, get to one of Paul Dean's Kettlebell or pump classes and I bet you keep going back again and again. Might even call it fun, it's a proper good workout so maybe not that far.

Fantastic experience: Been with PureGym for quite some time now. Sampled a lot of classes, but nothing quite compares to Wednesday night. Kettlebell and Stretch with Paul have helped me so much with my posture and movement. I’ve actually grown an inch again - Paul promises me it’s just better posture after my office job - couldn’t recommend the gym or the team highly enough

Fantastic experience: I originally met Emma in a glutes focused class at Pure gym. She was soo lovely and helped boost my confidence around the gym and using equipment. It was then I found out she was a pt and decided to sign up for some sessions with her. It’s been almost a month now and I’ve never felt so comfortable and confident in the gym, with exercises and form. Emma has explained how certain exercises work and helped me understand them way more than I’ve done before. I would highly recommend her to anyone who’s new to the gym or has been in the past but unsure what to do moving forward when going to the gym again!! I love going the gym now and Emma has played a big part in this!!

Negative experience: Limited equipment and to many members for then size. Equipment broken all-the-time. Had a "refurb" and its marginally better / cleaner. The gym got a new set of dumbells for it..... wowzer, way to push thr boat out.Went back to gym after a break tonight. Took some serious effort to get myself there. Then I spent 45 mins (again) unable to get on anything and walked out in the end after not working out. Direct debit soon to be cancelled. Literally pointless.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: I've started using this Pure Gym once per week to use the equipment I don't have in my home gym. So I focus mainly on machines like the leg press, hack squat, calf raises etc. The presses are both kind of in the entrance to the gym, which feels a little strange, but the layout as whole took some initial exploring to find everything. The free weights are is in a lower viewing gallery type of space, and you have to follow a few corridors past the aerobics studios and changing rooms to the area with the rest of the weights and cardio machines. This Pure Gym doesn't feel quite as good as some of the other locations I've visit, but also, is perfectly fine once you're used to it. I train early so there is always plenty of free parking right outside, and it's not too busy so there is very little waiting time for equipment. Because I don't use a lot of the other equipment or take part in the classes etc, I can't comment on a lot of what the gym has to offer. But the atmosphere is friendly, and the quality of the machines I use are all fine. It's not perfect, but I'm very happy to continue using it.

Negative experience: Machines need to be updated. No spin classes in the evening, been a member for 7 yrs seriously thinking about joining somewhere else due to the youth club culture that seems to have taken over

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend bodycombat with Iffan - not only is it a really good workout but he makes the session fun with loads of hints and tips along the way which makes it much easier to pick all the moves up

Fantastic experience: While the gym equipment is tired, and the air conditioning isn’t up to much, it can be more than a little uncomfortable at times… The trainers are what keep me coming back to PureGym Northwich. They are so enthusiastic and encouraging they really keep the place going. Lewis and Josh both have great classes. But Emma stands out the most for me. I started coming to her Pump classes to help with the lockdown excess living. Not only have I benefited physically but also mentally. She really cares about what she’s doing. It’s such a fantastic class, I can’t recommend it enough. I now have two PT sessions a week with her, and it’s safe to say she’s consistent with her passion for changing peoples lives.

Fantastic experience: This gym is beyond wonderful, can't say enough good things about the atmosphere and staff that work there. Fantastic variety of equipment and classes. Been training here for over 2 years, the PTs really helped me get started on my fitness journey, work on my form and develope a training routine that I'm comfortable with. I would highly recommend Emma's classes. I started with her pump class to build a base foundation of fitness, then I transitioned into her Cardio/Choreography dance classes to improve my confidence/self esteem.
Fantastic experience: The Dance classes with Emma at PureGym are just the best! They make you feel amazing and are so much fun. You don't need to have any previous dance experience and all ages are made to feel welcome! Fantastic experience: 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Emma’s cardio dance. The best vibe and community in this class. Emma spends a lot of time choreographing new routines and making the class enjoyable for absolutely everyone who joins. It’s my favourite way to get cardio in and it is so much fun!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely great gym, always a friendly atmosphere and all staff members happy to help if you are unsure about anything. I have PT sessions with Iffan Roberts and I really enjoy them and can already notice a difference in my confidence, knowledge, strength and stamina. Great workouts with great instruction.

Fantastic experience: PureGyms often have a bit of an odd layout as they are shoehorned into all types of units. However, this is odder than most. The free weights area is in a kind of sunken bit, and the whole place is sort of long and spaced out. Having said that, the place quite felt large with plenty of equipment, and when I visited, it was pretty quiet. There's a large carpark too.

Negative experience: Worst gym in Northwich. Trying to do a workout here is a joke equipment needs to be looked after it’s sticky and unfit for purpose. Complaints aren’t listened to just a generic reply of put in feedback box THERE IS NO SUCH THING. Layout is ridiculous as everyone has mentioned. Go to brio leisure centre down the road smaller but way more effective

Negative experience: I mean, the staff are nice but it's such a horrible layout, if you're doing powerlifting then prepare to be waiting 90% of the time since there's 2 squat racks (that double as bench presses) one bench press for the entire gym, and you have equipment spread out so far away it's just an annoyance

Negative experience: The layout of the gym is all over the place. Lots of little pocketed areas. Which probably you cannot do much about. However there are things that you can improve on. Only one free bench press for the whole gym, which is mostly occupied. Not much space to do floor work and stretches. Stretch matts are dotted around. Only one place where I can access gym ball, which is upstairs. Yoga/ stretch mats are not clean & dusty. I am not sure if there is need for large area dedicated to treadmill & steppers ? Most of the machine are not used. Usually the little pocketed areas are busy. Could open up the space , by planning it better. However, the staff seem friendly , good parking space and changing rooms are clean.

Negative experience: I'm writing this on behalf of another , who is advising whilst there is good equipment , there appears no domestic support for weeks , the bins are over flowing, there is debry in the showers , on the floors and areas of general very poor cleanliness. This has been reported but no improvements has been seen.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: The equipment quality and quantity is great. However the fact the keypad to unlock changing rooms at night needs to be fixed immediately. There were no cleaners anywhere to be seen for over half an hour tonight in the whole building, so my things are locked in the changing room.

Fantastic experience: I go and use the gym and equipment sometimes but the only thing that really works for me and keeps me disciplined is going to classes. One of my favourites is Emma's dance class on a Tuesday at 8pm because it's a cardio workout but it's just such fun! And such a release of stress from the day! Emma comes up with all the choreography herself in her spare time as well as running other classes and having clients to PT so puts a lot of her heart and hard work into it. You feel no pressure to be an expert dancer or anything, you just enjoy the songs and keep up with the moves as well as you can and for me personally it gives me a big confidence boost each time!

Negative experience: Small, equipment all over the place (random pieces everywhere), rusty equipment, floor mats that have seen better days. An people that think they are too privileged to wipe down their sweaty equipment after themselves... so great gym

Positive experience: The gym it's self is pretty decent, however it is busy at peak times if you want to do weights. I've also need at various hours to try and get a squat rack for squats and only once have I managed. I know there is a generic reply that their gyms are popular etc etc...but it is busy and it didn't use to be as busy as it is now.
