Negative experience: I've been using this gym for nearly four years and there's been a rapid decline in standards (cleanliness/ useable equipment) the machines and accessories are looking very tired.. A few have been out of order for sometime.. Membership prices creeping up and it's now time to start looking at changing...

Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible. Positive experience: Staff are nice and chatty Problem is equipment that are broken and don't get fixed or replaced. Example there was 4 rowers upstairs now down to 2 one is broken with sign on it that has been like that for weeks and weeks and another was similar then simply was taken away altogether never seen again and that was over 6 months ago that is rubbish given the volume of people using the gym Members pay a lot of money and basics is equipment that works and enough equipment

Negative experience: My second review on this gym and after my scathing first review things seem to have got worse, its not my main gym but again due to work commitments had to use this one last week.NEVER AGAIN.... nothing works apart from photocopier that must be constantly churning out"out of order" sheets.. Nothing in this gym works, cardio machines out of order, lift out of order, drinks machine(which you pay a premium for) has not worked all week..even the lady cleaner doesn't work as she just stands by gents urinals on her phone chatting into headset nonstop..i am certain if that was bloke in girls bathroom he'd be sacked on a sex pest charge by now!! No doubt management will come on saying please contact us but nothing changes.. Avoid this gym like the plague

Positive experience: First time at PureGym Bidston Moss, 7 day pass, free parking, equipment great, friendly gym goers as asked a couple questions and they were more than happy to help. If you need to contact staff, they come back relatively quick on e-mail, which good. Cons: No air conditioning, surely you have enough profit to put air con in? Had to use blue paper towels to wipe my head and palms as it was so hot. Apart from that, really can't complain so far. Did legs and abs today, so testing cardio tomorrow upstairs. Not seen bathroom/changing rooms.

Fantastic experience: For the price that you pay, the gym is quite good. The equipment is alright considering it's a budget gym. Parking is extremely convenient and plenty of space. The gym is stupidly overcrowded at peak times - that's what I would say. Good luck using any equipment at peak times. I've started to get to know a lot of people at the gym, and they have mostly seemed very genuine, uplifting and motivational people. We have started to become like a family here. I enjoy this gym and the people that go there. I wouldn't go anywhere else, this gym is the gym that I like.

Negative experience: went here for about 2 years but I recently left, there's always women making tiktoks with tripods in there and it makes me uncomfortable, also the music in the classes is way too loud it's actually painful to listen to, there's a lot of shouting and it just makes it horrible for everyone else, there's also way too many members now and downstairs is always overcrowded

Negative experience: Used to be my go to gym but unfortunately I'll start looking elsewhere, the amount of people walking round with cameras on tripods now moaning if you dare walk past their shot is to common place nowadays.. And this is not just customers its the instructors, just makes the session a uncomfortable experience for someone self conscious the best of times.. Cameras should be banned in the gym!!

Negative experience: Deleting original review as this place has gone rapidly downhill over a few months Constantly hammered with basics doing exercises wrong, filming themselves or climbing on the benches in changing room to stare at themselves in the mirror My main gripe with this disgusting place is how dirty it is I’ve found literal poo smeared on a toilet door, which I had to raise three times (don’t worry, it was cleaned a week later) and this morning I found period blood by the toilet flush … Yes people shouldn’t be so dirty, but also the cleaners should be cleaning at regular points throughout the day- i even got told that it was my fault I was visiting at times the cleaner wasn’t there??? A cleaner should be working at all points of the day, that’s why shift patterns exist

Positive experience: Great place but could do with a bike shed outside the gym so you can lock your bike up securely instead and locking it to the railings

Positive experience: Signed up on the January deal for half price and no joining fee. See how this month goes but seems pretty good so far. Does get super busy in peak times so use the tracker on the app to find a quite time

Positive experience: It's reasonably priced if you just want to use the gym, and there are trainers available you can pay for if you want help. The only blot is the 3 hour parking restrictions. Especially since the carparks are never full even during peak season & you couldn't use that carpark to access other facilities (shops off site) because it's in an isolated area.

Positive experience: This gym is a good place for workouts, equipped with a wide variety of exercise tools that ensure I have a productive session every time I visit. Its convenient location is a major plus, allowing me to easily grab a meal post-workout. While it can get a bit crowded at times, especially during rush hours, I've found it manageable and it hasn't significantly impacted my experience. Overall, it's been my go-to spot for a great workout routine.

Negative experience: Whilst I do use this gym, this is because it is the only gym in the Wallasey area that is open all hours, and the equipment is good (rusty, but good). I have to be completely honest with my review and this is why it only gets two stars. I regularly feel forced to leave when a class starts as the volume from them is just so loud. I have my headphones on, with my own music playing, yet once a class starts, all I can hear is the class instructor bellowing away with the pounding rave music. It’s overbearing and anxiety inducing. If I can hear it over my headphones, I’m sure it probably doesn’t need to be that loud. This could be a really fantastic gym if it was in a better building with separate areas, rather than just a few wall panels separating the classes from the main areas.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been using this gym for a year. It has a great range of modern equipment (though I’d love a hack squat machine ), it’s always spotless and it’s open 24/7. The only thing that lets it down is how busy it gets at peak times but at £25 a month for a standard membership, you get more for your money than any other gym on the Wirral.

Negative experience: Equipment dirty, not cleaned in a long time. Limited variation of equipment. Average gym. Cable machine attachments required replacement. Some PTs abrupt, condescending, and without any kind of good manners - walking across working stations, not washing hands after using toilet, not cleaning equipment after clients. Negative experience: My son went for first time no one to show him what to do had spinning lesson ended up in hospital pulled muscles damaged kidney and liver had to to on drip for 6 days still not right it's a disgrace
Fantastic experience: I first visited this branch of PureGym about 4 years ago and for the price, you can't argue. Best to go early in the morning when it's less packed (as with any gym) buy the kit available and friendliness of staff is everything you'd hope and expect.

Negative experience: Not impressed so far. This my second attempt to become regular member as it is closer to home. Had membership at Total Fitness and JD Gyms. This place need better cleaning routine and classes just been cancelled. Without any notice.

Positive experience: I arranged a visit to have a look round as I have to move gyms from Nuffield to somewhere nearer to my new job. I arrived and pressed the button 3 times with no response. Then a gentleman let me in and told me to wait at the side. I was then met by Haith who announced he was in a hurry as he had a class soon and he needed to set up. The classes in the morning really suit me but I am considering staying with my old gym despite the commute as nobody wants to join a gym where you feel like an inconvenience.

Positive experience: The gym and classes are okay but the ladies showers are awful. I’ve seen the same bits on the floor on consecutive days meaning they aren’t cleaned every day and the smell is awful. It’s seriously off putting - flip flops are a must as I wouldn’t dream of touching any of it with bare skin.

Positive experience: Fine, a few machines out of order. Another damaged and a couple have rust on them? but it's cheap, clean and always open. Not bad.

Fantastic experience: I became a member 2 weeks ago. So far, I've received a professional induction and used the workouts on the PureGym app, although I know there are plenty of great looking classes available I just haven't been able to get to any yet! The gym is always spotlessly clean, there is plenty of equipment available, the layout is good allowing spaces for stretches etc. Overall I'm pleased with the professionalism and welcoming of all the staff and impressed with the facilities.

Positive experience: Good clean environment and is pretty straight forward where everything is. It seems to be a pretty safe area that is well kept. Only issues I have is it tends to busy at peak hours and I wish there was a bit more machine variations for hamstrings and back (fair enough you can still get a good workout in with cables, free weights and machines they currently have). Also wish the staff could give a bit more help for people who need it (not including myself) as you can easily join up and be prone to injury due to lack of knowledge as I often see staff walking past people with really bad form who are likely to get injured. Other than that it’s a great gym environment for a cheap price.

Negative experience: Wife is a member and I checked it out. Won't join up only because of how obnoxiously loud the music is. Members need to be able to hear the music in their own headphones or just not leave without headaches and earaches. My wife complained to the staff and apparently they have no control over it just the manager who likes to have a 'club atmosphere'. The manager needs a reality check. It's a gym not a club. I doubt the poor personal trainers can do their jobs without having to yell over the music.

Fantastic experience: Just love Pure Gym Bidston at every level. The equipment, accessibility (opening times, location, carpark, etc) personal trainers, culture, ambiance, cleanliness, classes, layout and other members make this the place to be. I love the option of multi gym access for only £3 extra per month and £3 extra to bring a buddy along, which makes it easy for them to try before they become members, to see if they are committed enough. Could not recommend highly enough, and would give 6 stars if they let me, great value all around

Fantastic experience: Best Gym I have been to so far, everything is in great condition, clean all the time I go, never had a problem really. They have a fully Accessable 2 floors level to the pavement outside and has a lift inside too! The staff are all friendly and helpful. Over all great experience

Positive experience: Been going here for a few months now, the staff are really friendly and helpful the only fault I’ve found is that it’s always super busy , I can’t pre plan my workout as in a leg day or arm day I have to use whatever is available which is probably the equipment I don’t want to use so my workout isn’t always what I plan, everything is on top of each other too, unfortunately I’m having to cancel my membership and go to a bigger gym which is a shame.

Positive experience: To say I'm not a gym person is an understatement! However I reached a point that I HAD to go, I HAD to do something. I joined pure gym for convenience of location but now I go because of the people. Yes there's the size 0 girls wearing next to nothing, yes there's the meat heads who spend more time in the mirror than doing exercises but look past them and there's a great selection of equipment, very friendly and helpful staff and I think I'm actually starting to enjoy it!

Positive experience: Clean, tidy, machines all work (usually) Free exercise classes if that's your preference Not too happy with diminishing core or stretching space. More machines are not always better! Can get busy at peak times. Arrive, do your punishment, leave. What's to add??

Hi Christine! Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. In England face coverings are encouraged, except when exercising. This includes when entering the gym, in any communal areas, changing/locker rooms and when moving around the gym. We’ve created the space you need to work out while keeping a safe distance. The gym has also been rearranged and clearly marked out for you to use safely, so it is easy for everyone to follow. We’ll also control the numbers in the gym at any given time so it never gets too busy. If you have concerns please speak to a member of staff at the gym so they can look into this for you. Fantastic experience: Came at 2.55am was only one other person there just finished an hours workout and only one other person upstairs very clean and quiet, music went off at one part which made it feel weird. But with headphones in that's not really a problem.

Fantastic experience: Best value and convenience being a 24hour gym; I’ve been a member since it opened and have no complaints with how it’s run. Always a friendly welcome and hello from the staff. Usually very clean in the change rooms and two floors of well equipped cardio, strength and free-weight areas. Just need to get my lazy @rse over there more often!

Positive experience: Good range of equipment, can be busy at peak times early morning and evening. Unfortunately though some people including staff don't wipe down equipment after use even though there are plenty of cleaning stations. Manager is very meticulous in ensuring stations are replenished, pity the othe trainers aren't.
