Exmouth Leisure Centre offers access to a swimming pool, a contemporary gym and climbing wall and is backed up by imaginative exercise classes.

That starts with our pristine 25-metre swimming pool as well as our contemporary gym and climbing wall. And it’s backed up by imaginative exercise classes led by welcoming fitness professionals. We’re ready when you are.
Our Personal Trainers can look at your current program and eating habits and help you see where you could make changes to get you the results you want.
Our Personal Trainers can introduce new ways to exercise, different methods of strength and cardio training and different types of equipment you may not have even thought of before, giving you a workout to look forward to!
Our Personal Trainers will be able to motivate you to push past your limits, encouraging you to lift heavier, go longer and challenge yourself – you’ll find hidden strengths you never knew you had!

We offer the hire of our Sports Hall for self-catered parties. If you are looking for an activity we recommend using SportyStars, who offer a fantastic range of sports based activities. Book your party activity with Sporty Stars and Save 10% off the LED hall hire fee.
The staffed multi-sports party that can include football, basketball, badminton, dodgeball, table tennis and a variety of multi skill games. Throughout the sessions the children will have the opportunity to warm up with several fun games, enjoy playing matches with their friends and finish with some classic party games.
The party will be hosted in either the sports hall or on the astro depending upon the weather for 55 minutes followed by 30mins in the sub hall to enjoy your self catered party food.
Hire the main sports hall/astro for 55mins, then the sub hall or class room for 30mins. This option is perfect for those looking to arrange their own activity.
Our VertEXE climbing walls at Exmouth Leisure Centre will test the skill and nerve of any climber with its incredible 11 walls which are 6 metres high!
Each climbing session lasts for an hour and includes a full briefing. Plus, every climb is fully supervised by our supportive and motivating climbing team.

LED offer a fantastic range of activities for individuals, groups and clubs. Whether you are looking to have fun or get fit, learn new skills or meet new friends, we have something for you. Whilst many activities can be accessed free with our Unlimited Membership or Holiday Passes, “Pay and Play” customers and visitors are also welcome.
We run various events per year for both our public swimmers and members of our swim school. These include swim school galas and junior aquathlons, swimathons, introductory triathlons and more.
The pools are open from early in the morning until late at night to try and make sure you can get in the water whenever you want to! We run a number of courses, club programmes and exercise classes that may impact on your time in the pool so make sure you check the timetables or call your local centre before you pack your goggles and come down
As part of our commitment to getting children swimming from the outset, little ones aged under 3 can come along to a public swimming session for FREE! In addition to this, we also offer a fantastic swimming lesson programme that will take your child as far as they want to swim!

The pool is split halfway, with half of the pool available for lane swimming and half the pool open for all ages abilities and aquatic activities. Inflatables not permitted, but swim aids are more than welcome.
LED’s Fun Splash sessions do exactly what they say on the tin! Insane inflatable madness, floats and swimming toys galore – it’s the best way to make swimming unbelievable fun! 8+ on the inflatable.
If you are already swimming laps of the pool but want to train for a specific event such as a triathlon, or build fitness, then our coached SwimFit sessions will be the better fit for you.
LED’s aqua classes offer a cardio and conditioning, pool based workout that gets your muscles working against the resistance of the water – elevating the heart rate and burning those calories. We also run parent and baby aquafit (Exmouth only) suitable for parents to bring their little ones along to!

Good Boost is a 45 minute swimming pool based therapy session designed to improve mobility, increase strength and reduce pain. All LED pools are Swim England Water Wellbeing accredited, demonstrating our commitment to offering full inclusive and accessible swimming sessions.

Negative experience: Most of the staff are rude and very unwelcoming especially the women. This place is not mentally ill friendly. I made complaint and call them out on their cold behaviour, still didn't have a care in the world. There is still a stigma of mental health, that's why I cancelled my gym membership.

Positive experience: Ok, for general fitness, chest press doesn't provide full movement, dumbells only upto 42kg, bench press only 3 start points, not fully adjustable. If you enjoy classes, there are lots to choose from and a swimming pool and small climbing wall.
Fantastic experience: I use the LED in Exmouth for the swimming pool (so can’t comment on the gym as haven’t used these facilities). I started using the pool for the Aquanatal classes when I was pregnant which were super fun! Since having a baby, we now attend the Tuesday Discovery Ducklings class and love it. Classes are super engaging and the instructors are so good with babies - it’s such good value for the class as well at £6.80 per session. There’s good changing facilities for babies & children and a buggy park which is really hand. The lifeguards & reception staff are warm & friendly. We love it!

Negative experience: So disappointed with swimming on Thursday lessons at 5.15 slot there was 8 swimmers that is too much for little space and the swimming teacher is so poorly organised she let swimmers swim in the same time and there is no space to swim because so many people and that was so chaos! Normally, they will take in turn in two groups to swim if there is too many swimmers.
Positive experience: The gym is great but needs more of a weight area rather than cardio, Badminton areas are great but could do with one or more areas as can never book a badminton time around the time we need which interfers with the rest of our day for our autistic people we support. The pool is far too cold. So we don't use that anymore, I have friends who won't even take their children in there because after 15mins their faces and lips are blue. The baby pool is just as bad as the main pool. Apart from that the staff are lovely and it's all kept very clean.

Negative experience: The pool is actually quite nice, not too chlorinated. The gym is poor on equipment and far too busy but ok if you do not go in with a set idea if which equipment you need. However , despite some lovely staff, there are some very misleading staff who will insist you need a direct debit(online and in person). However temporary weekly and monthly memberships exist! The receptionist have a laminated price list behind the desk(after several months I discovered this). This meant ai had to pay for individual weeks /trials at different clubs and travel into Exeter when I could have done a month.

Negative experience: Badly let down this evening, been playing with a badminton group for 20+ years at LED on a Monday evening but because the manager couldn't fill us in even though already prebooked lost our courts tonight! Obviously no care customer satisfaction

Fantastic experience: What an incredible leisure centre we are blessed with, the sessions they offer are really good and there is such a variety of things to do here the vert-exe climbing is brilliant pool is lovely and the gym is very good. Positive experience: I take our toddler swimming there throughout the winter. Pricey is the first word that comes into mind, £ 8,50 for 45 min in the learners pool for an adult and one 3 year old. The water is cold in the morning, afternoon is better but busier.
Positive experience: Very pleased!! I brought my children for the fun splash after a very disappointing visit to wave Torquay! The inflatable was very enjoyable and the children clearly loved it and the floats were very floaty!!! The showers were kind of cold and they didn’t have a vending machine which was a small disappointment due to my toddler being hungry! my 2 toddlers had a great time learning to swim In the shallow pool with me whilst my teenage daughter enjoyed the inflatables with a smile on her face!! Would deffo come again!!

Fantastic experience: Went to get our booster jabs this morning at LED. I was able to access and get my jab sitting on my mobility scooter. Plenty of room and all the stewards, admin. and vacinators were so cheerful and helpful. Excellent organisation, no delays and with easy access. We parked in adjoining carpark. Were able to use a disabled bay and it only cost £1 for an hour ... we had time to cut through to the Strand and enjoy a coffee afterwards overlooking the war memorial and some young service cadet volunteers selling poppies ... inspiring
Positive experience: We held my grandsons birthday here Clip and Climb. Also hired a room for a party and brought our own food. Great instructor and a great venue. Clean,plenty of toilets and parking next to venue. Party on a budget, give the leisure Centre a call.

Please note, the membership still includes Swim England affiliated swimming lesson programme (one lesson per week), termly badges and certificates and casual swimming at public swimming times. Swimmers will have a guaranteed space in our lessons and have access to our ‘HomeHub’ providing updates on swimmer progress and achievements.

Negative experience: Booked to use learner pool with grandchildren. Showers cold as they had a problem, pool chilly, a lot of sand was visible in pool. This is probably because no one is showering before using pool due to covid restrictions. Hand sanitisers and liquid soap empty in changing rooms. Very disappointed!

Negative experience: The swimming part of it was great but as soon as you go in to talk to the receptionists they're quite rude, it was my first time going and I felt like I was being told off. I dont think we'll be coming again. The water wasn't warm enough for my 8 month old, his lips started to go blue even though we were in the children's learning pool. I thought it would have been warmer especially when there's only 8 people allowed at a time and that includes babies/children.
