Positive experience: Pretty good gym near the hotel I was staying in while visiting London. 20 pounds for a day pass, lockers, showers etc pretty clean, decent range of equipment - two squat racks, two benches. Would come back!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff and felt immediately welcomed. The gym itself was spacious and clean, with an inviting atmosphere. The equipment was well-maintained and varied, with plenty of options for both cardio and strength training. I appreciated that the gym also offered a variety of group fitness classes, which I found to be fun and challenging. Fantastic experience: I got a day pass for £20 as a bit of self-indulgence while staying in England. Nice setup, super cool neon lighting and was there when a live DJ was on. The range of equipment was great - lots of machine and some good plate-loaded options that I have missed. Water fountain in the change room came in handy

Positive experience: Pros: really friendly front desk staff, excellent central location, space was clean. Cons: nothing too serious here but 20£ for a single visit seemed on the high side even for a major capital. The space itself is laid out in a very confusing manner. There are multiple levels with equipment seemingly placed randomly. Very tight free-weight space and arguably too many fitness options for just one space. I had to cross numerous bridges and had to walk up and down stairs to find what I was looking for. I think if this space focused on less options and greater detail to space and flow of clientele for what they do offer, this would have been a better experience. Still 4 starts because of the lovely front desk staff, cleanliness and location. Maybe the other locations are better situated? 15£ would have been a better value.

Negative experience: “It’s not our issue” is what Anja, the receptionist told me when I requested a refund for my day pass as there was no hot water in the showers. Guests weren’t informed of the problem and staff didn’t have the common sense to inform gym goers. I was simply told that “it’s not our issue” and “this also happened a few days ago.” Guests were annoyed and amazed at Anna’s language and complete disregard for customer experience.

Negative experience: Facilities are getting worse and worse while price increases ! No hot water in the showers for at least 5 time the last 3 months. Been to Westfield gymbox ones and there were no towels available.

Fantastic experience: The gym is wonderful, by the way! The classes were fantastic when I was a member in the past, but there are even better classes now! I have always been able to board the desired equipment.The team moves quickly to address any issues, which I've only encountered once.

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere is unique and all standards in terms of hygiene and equipment are met. Professional staff and an overall respectful environment.

Negative experience: Although this location looks amazing when you walk in with the floating studio they are in desperate need of more signs around the space because it's a maze with loads of floors and staircases and exits. If you're new, or on class pass it's really difficult to navigate. Also the spin class room is terrible - way too small, bad speakers way too loud for the space and bikes cramped basically touching handles. It's such a big space they should be using it better. Also the final downside of this location against others is the women's sauna is TINY, but the changing room is so big. Again they need to organise the space better.

Positive experience: First impressions: where is everything? This place could do with sign posts to both changing rooms and equipment. Disoriented start. I can see something, how do I get to it? The lay out coupled with extremely loud music would not instill confidence in a newbie. My workout buddy who was totally fresh looked like a deer in the headlights, although he was possibly just overwhelmed with all the attractive people around him. The weight area needs to be a lot bigger, but it was the first time to find a gym where all the weights were in their place! Overall I had a decent workout with a good enough variety of equipment. Pleasant changing rooms also and friendly reception staff.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member of this gym for a few months now and the quality of facilities is incredibly poor. - The hot water hasn’t worked at the gym for a number of weeks, this isn’t communicated to users until they step into a freezing cold shower, I’ve been told consistently now that this will be fixed but it hasn’t been - The showers are filthy & the shower gel is usually empty - The sauna fits a max of 3-4 people in, given that the gym is so oversubscribed this results in it being as busy as a packed tube carriage & therefore unusable - The equipment itself is decent, however as of recent months the surge in membership numbers makes the gym an entirely unpleasant experience. The gym is small and cannot cope with the numbers - Thieves operate within the gym Further, customer services @ GYMBOX aren’t helpful & are not receptive to feedback

Positive experience: Really great gym on multiple levels super clean and organised especially for gym box which is usually a mess with people not putting their weights back but this has to be the cleanest one I've been to with great music and friendly staff.

Negative experience: Horrible! Beware, you have to give one month's notice on 12 month contract which they don't mention when you sign up

Fantastic experience: Unique gym- love the aesthetic of a gym bulky in an old cinema. Always a great experience and never have to wait for gym equipment

Positive experience: Bit of a confusing layout, which isn’t conducive to a good workout. I found lots of equipment to be randomly placed together around different parts of the gym (which is across a few floors), so you spend a lot of time going between areas. There’s a good selection of equipment, including the latest Technogym treadmills (x2) which is cool. But no hex dumbbells that I could see, only the circular ones. Showers (male) aren’t good; but this is typical of all Gymbox gyms - really bad metal shower head which sprays a useless amount of water in loads of different directions. Not a premium experience at all and I wish they’d invest in showers across their estate a bit more. All in all, this is a passable branch, but doesn’t even come close to some of the better ones.

Fantastic experience: Don't usually leave reviews but my experience has just been terrific. Joined in September 2022 and value for classes has been top notch. WOD and Bodyweight Bandits are great, but Yolanda's class is the real star; her attention to form and individualised feedback keeps me coming back week after week. Could do well with more similar strength-based classes throughout the week. Thanks for such a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff specially at the front desk. Really appreciate excellent customer service. I was greeted by Peter and made me feel super comfortable. He was extremely friendly and made me sure I was in one of the best Gyms in London.

Negative experience: Like many other people below completely exasperated by the disgusting cancellation procedure. Person I joined up with, who coincidentally has left a positive review below posing as a guest, sold me the 3 month package at a higher price than the yearly because of the short nature of my commitment. He told me explicitly that he would give me a call at the end of the term to check if I’d like to extend. I received no phone call, just suddenly moved onto a rolling monthly contract (at the same higher rate) when I contacted they apologised and told me that staff member no longer worked with them and also for him miss selling the product. Despite this, I was instantly threatened via another channel with debt collection. After calling, being promised someone would call me back - who hasn’t) and having numerous email conversations they are insisting I pay 2 extra months membership … £260. They’re well aware I’ve been nowhere near their venue since my 3 months ran out) I know I’ll be told to check out the terms and conditions. I’ve been told at least 10 times already but the fact is, I was very clear I only wanted a 3 month membership because of my temporary office. It was agreed that this fact would be taken care of and this has turned out to be a complete lie. I don’t understand why, what looks like a successful company needs to hide and con people out of money with ridiculously long exit periods and small print. So infuriated that nobody is willing to accept any responsibility for their teams errors.

Negative experience: They gym is good and I think they do what they claim around classes and what not but they make cancellation really hard, have no system of follow up on that request and will not allow you to cancel in person. Fantastic experience: i have been using GYMBOX for years now. I usually go to the one in Covent Garden as i work nearby. The atmosphere is great. Finally great they brought the DJ back. Zach is not only amazing on creating the buzz by playing good music but also really welcoming when working at the reception. The whole CG team is great :)

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of GymBox Covent Garden since the summer of 2010. I love the gym, the classes and the live DJ's. The staff is very friendly and I especially like to be greeted by Zach at reception and workout on Wednesday nights to his DJ jams. Fantastic experience: This is my absolute favourite gym in London!! It is always cleaned to the highest standard and has the best variety of weights and machines! The staff are always welcoming and I’d like to highlight the service they give!! Especially Leigh, she is always welcoming and chatty which makes going to the gym less intimidating for me, she really goes over and above her job and nothing is ever too much to ask!! I have endless questions (that people must be sick of) but Leigh is always happy to answer and give me all the info I need!! Could not recommend this gym more!!

Fantastic experience: Have been a member since 2013, Covent Garden was one of the first Gymbox branches i joined and is still one of my favourites to this day. Great choice of machines, a full range for free weights, squat racks and spaces like the frame area. Classes are fun and exciting, clientele serious about training too so know i can get in, get a good work out done and leave satisfied from a great experience.

Positive experience: Very nice dark themed gym. Tried for the first time today. Wanted to do the back workout but couldn't find weight assisted chin up/lats machine. So, decided to do shoulders workout. Free weights area is quite congested with people bumping into each other. Showers are weirdly noisy. Overall a decent but little different, themed gym.
