Holland Park Outdoor Gym: Opinions
Positive experience: Honestly, a pretty awful outdoor gym. I'll still give 3 stars because we shouldn't be ungrateful to have these free of access but this one is genuinely pointless.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place to train when the weather is beautiful!
Positive experience: This is a bit tricky to find because the Google Maps pin is in the wrong place. You need to enter the park through the entrance near the pin, then immediately turn right towards the big sports field through the wooden gate, and then right again to go along the path. The outdoor gym itself is quite alright. I like that there's a water fountain nearby, which was handy as I didn't have water with me. The public toilets in the park are amazingly clean so that's also convenient. Only minus about the outdoor gym is that it doesn't have a soft and springy floor like many others do (like in playgrounds). I personally prefer having that kind of floor when I do handstands or other activities that may involve falling.
Fantastic experience: Un lugar muy seguro y relajante para hacer ejercicios de actividad motora.
Positive experience: I love this space with it's great range of machines. It is so uplifting to exercise under the sky amongst the trees. Too muddy in the winter months, grass often needs cutting in the summer months.
Fantastic experience: Great place to train, it has everything you need for a body weight workout and its location makes it one of the best place to do physical activities in Kensington.
Fantastic experience: Great outdoor gym, I really enjoy this space
Negative experience: As a woman if I'm going to exercise I prefer to be in a gated area can't put your stuff down can't bring your kids cos it's not a secure area.
Positive experience: Very good for those new to exercise and for all age participation
Fantastic experience: Been going for years. Brilliant
Fantastic experience: Good for calisthenics! You can do just avout anything here
Positive experience: Good range of machines for those who like using machines to workout. It is an outdoor gym hence all the machines utilise one's own bodyweight. For those who are in to calisthenics or perhaps more advanced bodyweight training there a pair dip bars as well as three purpose built pull up bars. There is enough equipment there for people of all levels and goals. My only recommendation on how this outdoor gym could be improved is to have an actual straight pull up bar, the pull-up bars that are there are formed of two seperate small hand sized bars, which are perfectly good but does limit the range of motion one can use for pull-ups. There is a straight bar one can use but it is part of a monkey bar set up and the bar angles downward and hence is not actually a straight bar, for this reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 star. However, overall a good outdoor gym and is excellent considering it is free. Also, it is in prime location, highly recommended for anyone who wants to get some exercise.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place for outdoor exercises.
Positive experience: Nice place to work out, muddy though
