Fantastic experience: Nice gym on the outskirts of Newcastle at the Quorum business park, various equipment, would use again (as a visitor), bus links are close by too towards Newcastle and Blyth

Positive experience: I have been a member of this gym for over 8 years, great gym, great value and local for me. Great that the gym is 24hrs and the equipment is good…although I do think the cardio equipment is due an upgrade soon. The reason for the 3 stars is the women’s changing room and the drains. The smell is horrendous and it’s been like this for the last year I couldn’t step foot in the showers when they smell that bad. Any solution for this in the pipeline PureGym?

Negative experience: When I first signed up, the gym had good standards but since then this week alone there has been 4 days in a row where the cleaning stations had no spray to clean down machines which makes you wonder when was the last time they were cleaned.

Negative experience: Both my self and my husband have cancelled our membership to go to another gym with my PT. This gym has evolved to almost unrecognisable from just a few years ago. Drains stink the gym floor out, equipment broke and not fixed quickly (definitely more than 9 months as I managed to have a baby in the time it took to fix a leg machine). People never put their weights away and over load sledges etc. Loads of quality personal trainers leaving aswell. Real shame.

Positive experience: Not the best - Aircon barely ever works, place look like it's never cleaned either. You can never see staff members and the drinks machine you pay extra for is never stocked and is plain water.

Positive experience: Always seems busy so maybe avoid peak times if you can. The equipment seems well maintained, even if a bit older than the equipment at puregym blyth. The music isn't loud enough for my liking and the songs seem very repetitive and not upbeat enough, maybe that could be adressed? In a positive note, the staff are friendly and approachable. The gym is very clean too.

Positive experience: I've only visited a few times but so far so good. The place is clean and tidy although the cleaning stations and hand sanitiser dispensers could be refilled more regularly. The equipment is easy to use and kept in good working order.

Fantastic experience: I visited as a guest and was really impressed so much so that I got my own subscription. It was the first time I had been to a gym in years so I was a bit nervous but honestly I had no need to worry. The equipment is very straightforward to use even for a novice like me. Lots of different weight machines, bikes etc. The subscription model is simple and there are no contracts, cancellation fees etc. I love the idea that my subscription covers me to use any PureGym in the UK 24/7. Parking is good. Free for up to 2hrs. Brilliant!!

Positive experience: Recently joined this gym and have been enjoying it so far. Staff and gym members are all very friendly, it’s a different vibe than going to the PureGym in the city centre of Newcastle which is mainly filled with students. I saw a few reviews regarding parking but there are clear ‘PG’ (PureGym) parking spaces so haven’t had any fines yet although hoping to not have any. The only thing I have found to be slightly annoying is when you’re there on evenings where there are no gym staff there’s an announcement that comes on the radio/TVs that announce that the gym is unstaffed very frequently and sometimes will play two or three times in a row. I understand it is for safety measures/precautions but the announcements are that frequent that they become a little annoying and are hard to ignore. Other than that though it’s an all round decent gym!

Positive experience: Love this gym so much but today when exiting a member of staff was coming in through the side door by the pods, I simply asked if I could go out that way seen as the door was open which she refused and told me to get into the pod, which I did, and whilst getting in she was still giving me dirty looks, attitude and talking away about the doors when I was literally in the pod. I don’t appreciate such rudeness, for a gym and service I pay for. It wasn’t the end of the world if I went through the side door, staff shouldn’t be so rude to paying members.

Positive experience: Ideal as it's on my doorstep. Monthly membership is very reasonably priced. Gym is open 24 hours which I like because I go 5am for an hour which allows me to get home, changed and have a cuppa before heading to work. Its nice and quiet at that time too. I also used to enjoy some of the classes that are on offer, all included in the price of the membership.

Positive experience: Need more weight machines. Music's too loud. The drinks machines sometimes just gives out water despite paying a premium for flavoured. For the price not too bad though!

Negative experience: This gym is a mess. The equipment is rundown and falling apart. The rubber grips on machines are ripped or missing completely. Leg machines have been broken and out of action for months on end with no repairs being taken place on them. You'd think social distancing was still in place with how poorly the space is utilised. The layout could be optimised much better in order to add more equipment and machines, especially squat racks (of which there are only 3 and they're always in use!) Most of the staff seem friendly, however I've overheard some of the PT's making derogatory and disgusting comments to one another, in regards to their female clients when they see them coming through the door. The future is bleak for this gym considering a brand-new JD Gym is opening just down the road in Benton later this year. If they don't step up their game then they'll lose a lot of customers to JD Gym, myself included.

Positive experience: PureGym Longbenton feels massively under-equipped. There are often not enough machines, the machines are frequently broken and for long periods of time. There is not a huge variety of classes available, especially for those that require low impact and low intensity. Other gyms offer stretch/yoga/Pilates and there is absolutely nothing offered at Longbenton anymore. There are also no low intensity classes, or beginner levels for the high intensity classes which are incredibly intimidated. Yes, there are "learn to lift" classes available, but they don't appear to be very popular, and still leave a massive gap in the cardio and toning classes. This is despite a response on previous survey stating that it was something being looked into and a hope to be offered. The only reason I continue attending is first and foremost the PTs there. Always friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Secondly the location and fact it is 24/7 is convenient for me.

Positive experience: Good gym equipment but it does get v busy and the A/C is not working so just fans blowing hot air about and there are no windows to open! Not ideal in summer. The cleaning stations are also partly broken and sometimes empty.

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Fantastic experience: Hey, i thought i would have shared my experience at this gym after 4 years. Well, gym is nice but very small, people are lovely overall and it's a friendly enviroment. The only issue i think is having too many fruitcakes standing in front of the mirror with their phones when for example you are trying to squat or doing a shoulder press at the rack. I mean i don't have problems with fruitcakes but jesus christ if you check whatsapp/tinder for 15 minutes between reps i think you are at the wrong place. Fruitcakes should be banned but i know they bring money afterall. Not too many machines unfortunately and again fruitcakes are too many, specially when FC train togheter they are very dangerous. Can take up to 20 mins before leaving the machine. BTW i had fun and if you would like to train but not too much definetly is a good place :D. It has been a part of my fitness journey this gym but it's time to change. thank you pg

Positive experience: Average pure gym been to much better ones in the past. The machines are spot on however, plates, barbells and some benches need replaced. Gym is really hot aswell lack of Aircon - good for getting a sweat on though. Staff are friendly

Positive experience: Good gym, wide range of equipment and very cheap. Only one bench press and 2 squat racks though so bit limited if you mainly train with barbells.

Positive experience: Parking always available, clean, nice inside. Lots of machines, but no where to stand up your phone so you kinda have to always balance it at an angle, only iPod (original) chargers integrated.

We have over 220 bits of kit in each gym and aim to have a broad spread, so we can cater to a range of fitness needs whilst meeting demand as it changes throughout the day, getting the balance right between cardio and weights. Positive experience: It's a good gym, free parking and usually quite quiet so you can get equipment. Unfortunately the roof is too low so exercises like muscle ups are not possible.

Negative experience: Gym equipment is very good but showers and changing rooms are disgusting
Positive experience: Good gym, helpful staff. Would be 5 stars if it had more machines; emphasis seems to be on free weights. Tons of cardio equipment though.

Fantastic experience: Joined today. Manager showed me around and kept it nice and simple. Showed me how to sign up. I made an error doing it and the lady staff member was great helping me do it again. Equipment is great and everything is well organised
Fantastic experience: Clean and well managed
Negative experience: Good open space, bright with lots of windows. I only use weights and cardio machines. Standard of cleanliness is currently poor for equipment and most areas. No soap in men's toilets is a prime example and recurrent problem, or zero or broken cleaning sprays. No new kit in a few years, things are getting run down and maintenance is poor. Any suggestions for new kit or equipment are left unanswered. I get that it's only about £17per month but there's basic expectations that simply aren't now met but these used to be exceeded.

Fantastic experience: Clean and good size with lots of available equipment. The staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful and I imagine the PTs are very well informed and look very professional. Has lots of cardio equipment and loads of benches available to use as well as lots of assisted equipment. The changing rooms are spotless as is the equipment. Very clean and they take covid measures seriously!

Fantastic experience: I am a regular member. And as such I want to commend the staff for outstanding act of kindness. This morning I parked my bike outside as usual. Unconsciously I did not lock my bike. When got outside the bike was gone. Assuming that it was stolen I reported that to the workers of the gym, asking for help and ten was informed that they spotted my bike without being locked and they decided to put the bike in for it not to be stolen. It was returned to me safely. I am very grateful for that. Well done pure gym staff! And as a matter of fact I am very satisfied with the gym and the equipment. The gym is clean, tidy well organised and managed.

Please be aware we offer Free onsite parking for 2 hours. Members must park in the correct area at the correct times or will be liable to a fine; 5am-5pm PureGym Bays (2 hours) 5pm-5am Any Q5 B Bay (No Limit). PureGym Bays are clearly marked, if the PureGym Bays are full between 5am-5pm members should park in the Quorum Retail Car Park which also allows up to 2 hours free parking. Positive experience: Nice friendly staff. The classes are good and I like how the instructors can push you to improve fitness level.

Positive experience: Only looked in the door for a peek. Called for staff on intercom, none came, however appreciate it was a popular time. Seen no staff in the 15 mins that I was there. Looked a decent place, clean with good equipment. Surprisingly I parked ok too, as very busy car park. They have some good deals, but these vary throughout the year.

There are always personal trainers in the gym between 6am and 10pm, but especially at peak times they are often occupied with classes or clients. However, if one is available they will always be happy to help. If they're not immediately visible, you can try knocking on the office door or pressing the button to call for assistance. On top if this, if you become a member you can always book an induction through the online members, particularly if you want tips for certain fitness goals. We look forward to seeing you soon! Fantastic experience: Very good experience so far. Parking has been available at various times of the day, gym is spacious, music not too load and equipment I've used up-to-date and kept clean. Not attended any classes yet but intend to. Very good value for money.

Fantastic experience: Everything a gym should be. Great location, equipment and it's always tidy.. right temperature as well! Been to loads of gyms where the air con is knackered. Staff seem lovely and consistent.
