Village Gym Nottingham

Fantastic experience: I had a tour of the gym today with Megan and she was amazing and so thorough with all aspects of the gym and made me feel so welcome. I had joined straight away and can’t wait to come back soon

Negative experience: I joined up to the village gym for three month trail, the first day I set up I had problems with the app. I emailed jade walker 12 days before the end of my contract before it went up in price and told her I was having difficulty to cancel my gym membership. She wouldn't help me until I sent her a video of the app not allowing me to cancel. I was still charged a late cancellation fee! I complained and all they wanted to speak about was this extra money they wanted from me, I tried to complain to the ombudsman but they wasn't able to help me. DO NOT JOIN THE VILLAGE GYM IN Nottingham unless you are 100 percent sure u want to join. All they care about is taking your money! They need to be more ways to complain if you have proof of this sort of problems.

Negative experience: Edited! Initially, I thought the team were helpful as I was told by Megan, who processed my membership, that she would also put in the 90 day cancellation notice at the same time so that I could have essentially a trial without then having to pay an additional 3 months notice period if it wasn't for me. This has proven to have been a lie. No cancellation was added to my membership, with no acknowledgment that I was blatantly lied to in order to get my custom. Really poor and deceptive.

Fantastic experience: Sign up process was quick and simple, all questions were answered confidently by megan and she supported me all the way. Facilities are great, and the staff I have met so far were very helpful and supportive.

Fantastic experience: Had been a Village member since it was built only leaving during covid. Decided to join again and Megan Woodward took me through the changes since I left which wasn't much at all. It'll take me a little time to get back in the swing of things but the facilities are first class especially the pool and sauna which are first rate. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I came first time to this gym last night and I met Katie. She was fantastic, very professional and helpful as I had a few questions. I came back today for my morning session and I met more ppl. I had a chat with Jo and again very positive vibes and very professional. As I was working out I also met Aldemar and Kam. Both very easy to talk to and passionate about there job. All in all I had a great experience and I will definitely visit when in this area. Great team! Highly recommended. Thank you guys Michael

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've been going to this gym for a while now, and I have to say it's hands down one of the best gyms in the area. The facilities are always clean, the equipment is top-notch, and there’s a great variety of machines and classes available. And most importantly the wellness is the best part of it. ( Sauna, Steamer and the pool access ) A special shoutout to Michaella from the staff—she's absolutely amazing! Michaella goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and is always ready to help, whether it's with navigating into the classes, advice, or just a friendly chat. Her support makes such a positive difference, and I really appreciate the care she shows for the members. Highly recommend this gym if you're looking for a friendly, clean, well-equipped, and motivating environment to train in!

Fantastic experience: I Signed up this morning @ the village gym. I spoke to someone called Jade, she was excellent she also helped with my rewards app which was so helpful. Within 20 min I was in the gym. Perfect service.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding gym onboarding & induction by Asheca Abban. The gym is great and pool is sizeable, extremely good value for the amount of benefits. It is the people though that stand out, she was flexible, understanding & stood out as clearly as authentic, honest, understanding & kind. She has been there for three years, says it all really. Additionally impressed by Michaela. For anyone nervous about starting a fitness journey highly recommend the gym & staff.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and changing rooms always dirty specially family one! trying to cancel my membership and they did not emailed me the contract on time and when I was cancelling they told me 3 months notice! I have explained to them about my situation that I did not use the Gym last 3/4 months and it is not fair but no empthay! Be carful of this company and stay away.

Fantastic experience: We belong to the Blackpool version of this hotel based gym. This one has a much larger pool, better designed, although just an inside one, we have an outside pool as well in Blackpool. Less fancy gym. Better poolside showering at the entrances to Ladies and gents changing, better steam room. Huge changing rooms, more showers. Loved it...but to be fair we also love our usual one in Blackpool.

Fantastic experience: Nottingham Village Health Suite. After recently participating in some personal training sessions Id like to show appreciation for the service I received from the trainer Al highlighting the positive way he conducted himself. Al was respectful and considerate ensuring that I felt comfortable at all times. I felt listened to so my session was personalised, informative and interesting. Id like to add that the gym staff are always approachable and helpful and appear dedicated to supporting their clients on their individual health journeys. They display true team spirit and togetherness when working their shift. This creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the gym. In addition the staff in the women’s changing rooms are hardworking friendly individuals who also show so much respect and consideration to ensure our time in the Village is positive.

Fantastic experience: I hardly ever write reviews, however as I have been a member of this health club/hotel I thought that I should put pen to paper and let everyone know of the great service and ambience further more the GM Martin is so helpful and hands on.i feel so happy to be part of these lovely members and staff whom are all very hard working and caring. Fantastic experience: Staff always on hand to give advice. Classes are fun, but hard work, which is how it should be. Everyone works to their ability and builds up. We are given lots of motivation during the classes. I have only been going to the gym for a short while and they remember individual names of the customers, which is nice.

Positive experience: I have visited this place on 5 or 6 Separate occasions. My experience is the following: Gym - good selection of machines and free weights. Separate cardio area available however during certain times it was not available due to classes taking place which was annoying as I was not aware of the timing of the classes beforehand. What also annoyed me was that certain machines like stairmaster (I think there were 2 or 3) were all out of order for a number of weeks. Swimming pool - looks very good, lovely lights, relaxing atmosphere water was nice and warm, plenty of sun lounges to stretch out after the swim. Sauna and wet room - very good, clean and well looked after. busy at times Changing rooms - good lockers, nice shower area. Urinals were out of order everytime I visited. All in all I've always enjoyed my visits always had good workouts and relax using saunas and pool area.

Negative experience: Virtual classes never work and staff have no clue how to solve. Things break and don't get fixed and I'm left sat like a mug still having to pay membership.

Fantastic experience: I joined the Village in August this year and I think it's fair to say I'm not normally a gym bunny! Anyhow, I have been really welcomed into the club and am actually starting to feel at home there. I considered the local leisure centre but honestly, when I looked round the Village and saw how much cleaner it is, then it was a no brainer. I don't think I've attended yet and there hasn't been someone cleaning! Anyway, the gym is incredibly well equipped with so many different pieces of kit for cardio, free weights and machines. There's a separate, smaller weights area as well as the main area, which may feel a little intimidating at first, but honestly, I've been so welcomed in there. I've only attended one class, they aren't really my thing, but it is a lot of fun, and if classes are your thing you'll be spoilt for choice. The pool area is lovely and warm and there are set times when kids are allowed in so there's plenty of time for adults only making it easier to do lengths should you wish. My end goal is always the steam room and sauna which are most welcome, there's also a very warm hot tub which is more like a bath, as well as a cooler hot tub area in the main pool. I have engaged one of the PTs, Kam, on a weekly basis, and I can't say enough to praise the miracles she is working with me. She has already helped me improve my balance, core strength and recovery time while teaching me to use the equipment, much of which was a mystery to me, in the right way to keep me safe and stop me injuring myself. She's taught me to lift and I can't tell you how powerful that makes me feel. Wish I'd done it years ago! Heartily recommended.

Fantastic experience: Very inclusive gym and attentive staff. Has great facilities and spa. If you avoid the peak hours with screaming kids it can be very relaxing in the pool area too! I will greatly miss this gym and the staff :)

Fantastic experience: I've joined which is testament enough! I require a gym which is well equipped, a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool which are all easily accessible at times I wish to use. The Village Hotel offers all this and more including gym classes, squash courts, discounted food, drink and hotel stays across all of their sites. All at a reasonable price. Now a happy member.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have bad customer service with the receptionist...as a gym in a hotel they should be more friendly with foreigners. I felt not welcome

Fantastic experience: The Village Gym has all the most up to date equipment you could need and new kit arrives frequently, the membership is mixed through the day and night but you’ll always be able to find a training buddy before long. The pool is a lovely haven of relaxation or during kids hours a place of fun and laughter for many families my little one has learned to swim here without needing to take lessons and he loves the place. The other members here help make this place a real community, it’s a friendly place and it’s easy to make new friends here or keep to yourself if that’s what you prefer. The location is great free onsite parking (don’t be fooled by the signs it’s 4 hours for free!) and you have the amazing staff at Starbucks and the pub and Grill ready to make you feel very welcome and help you to refuel after your gym session. A Village feel is really the magic of this place!

Negative experience: I’ve been a member here for nearly a decade. The standards have dropped massively. all complaints are completely ignored. We currently have 2 cubicles gym side and no urinals and no toilets pool Side at all. They have been shut for around a month now and the place is disgusting. When I enquired about leaving I received an automated email saying someone will ring me to discuss this. The next day I received an email saying my cancellation has been approved and it looks like no one will bother to follow it up.

Negative experience: Omg the food is poor, service poor, cleanliness poor. But the pool looked inviting.

Fantastic experience: The Village Gym Nottingham is a lovely place to work out. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the gym is well equipped. The classes and virtual classes are many and varied and the pool is also very good. I would recommend joining.

Fantastic experience: It has been revamped. Over the years I have been there as a hotel guest, in the restaurant and I have also joined the gym, which is great. The swimming pool is clean and I have also joined the aqua aerobics class.

Fantastic experience: We love visiting the Village Gym! Whether it is the actual gym, one of the endless classes or during kids swim time. Everything is always very clean including the changing rooms, although I have only experienced the ladies! The whole team are fab, always very friendly & approachable. 5 stars from us!

Positive experience: I had a day pass to visit as i am currently searching for a new gym/leisure centre. I’d visit here a few years ago for a spa treatment and was hoping to book in for a massage during my visit. Although unfortunately i was told on arrival that they no longer offer treatments since covid :(. I enjoyed the pool and sauna, got chatting with some lovely people & the atmosphere was just right. The gym was underwhelming. As someone who trains quite a bit, i found there was lack of weights and machines and the gym space was very small. There were a lot more options for cardio but as a weight trainer, i think I’ll stick to a commercial gym. 4/5 stars overall.

Fantastic experience: I think over the past 20 years I've tried pretty much every gym in Nottingham and the Village Gym is as good as any other. It's never too over populated and the other members are decent and friendly. Not the largest gym, but it has what you need for an all over body workout. The only other thing I'd like to see is a incline/decline sit up bench and another punch bag. The pool is good, great for kids and there are also adult only swim times.

Negative experience: We just wanted to use the pool the only option was to pay for an all day guest pass it cost us £46 for 2 adults and 1 child. First we spoke to the person in the main entrance he sent us downstairs they then try to send us back upstairs but eventually agreed to book us in down their after a few eye rolls from the gym receptionists she was very short and extremely unhelpful. We used the family changing room which smelled of urine think the toilet must be broken.There was also classes happening so could only swim in half off the pool.

Negative experience: Not clear regarding membership cancellation.sending them an email last 15/6/22 and had a reply only 45 days later,after a following email.Subscription price went up of 5 pounds without any information.Asked to cancel due to severe medical condition,still not reply.probably I need to wait other 45 days

Fantastic experience: Gym is top tier. No waiting times for equipment and still quiet in peak times. Good steam room, sauna and pool however the latter can be marginally overcrowded on the weekend. 5/5 over all far better than the usual big gym chains, definitely worth the extra

Fantastic experience: One stop for a good workout, relaxation and meal with the whole family. The pool is large allowing everyone to have a relaxing swim even when it's busy. Massive TV's in the pub with one in theatre style seating. Starbucks on site for snacks and coffee. Squash courts on site too.

Positive experience: A well maintained and equipped gym with a nice restaurant. On your right to the entrance is a snug Starbucks with friendly staff. The pool and sauna are great also. A good atmosphere overall.

Positive experience: My mum is a member of the village gym because of the virus and the village gym having to close will she still have to pay

Fantastic experience: It has to be said, the team here can’t do any more than what they are and their efforts are fantastic. Whilst the pandemic is sure enough a motivation for any enterprise to update their cleanliness standards, the team here go above and beyond, put measures in place and I have nothing but praise for them all. Thank you for being open and thank you for being safe!

Negative experience: Disgusting staff, place..

Positive experience: Dont like the set up of the gym, feels a bit packed in. Pool is nice. Studios for classes are fresh and modern.

Positive experience: Jacuzzi is1/2 full and is not working properly, the pool full of sand in the gym are doing some repairs red tape everywhere.

Fantastic experience: I'm truly enjoying my membership. There are trainers to show you how to use the equipment in the gym. And they have every sort of equipment imaginable. I have a senior's membership and I feel very comfortable that we are not all beautiful, but it's very encouraging to see so many who are serious about health and fitness. I've now been going to the gym at least twice a week since I joined. I'm loving it, my general fitness has improved no end and I am generally pain free. I'm learning to use different equipment for all round toning. After an hour in the gym , I take a swim, sauna and steam. There are hair dryers and tongs available and plenty of mirrors. I've lost a few pounds too. Must say I finish off with a generous sized latte in the Starbucks on site, or an evening meal in the Grill, we have been given so many vouchers for food, we'll never use them all .

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym and facilities in a well thought out layout absolutely worth the membership costs. Pool area recently renovated its never too busy and I train at peak times. Bar and restaurant has just been remodeled and looks great. Starbucks on site too. Only thing that needs a tidy is the men's showers

Positive experience: Good as long as you get a deal/reduction on the standard membership price. Good atmosphere, good staff, relaxing environment. Doesn't seem too busy and equipment is up to date. Get rid of towel charges though and you will have 5 stars for a true 'premium' feel.

Positive experience: Good, well stocked gym. Weights and aerobics workout area. There are classes held regularly. This gym also has a children friendly swimming pool, as well as sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and dedicated areas with sun loungers. Squash court and table tennis. It only gets 3 stars, because the pool area is in need of serious maintenance.

Negative experience: Extremely poor customer service! Constantly the jacuzzi, saunu and steam room out off order. Their main office when canceling subscription are poor and damn right rude. I am still waiting for a manager to call me for the last 4 months. In the mean time they have pushed a a debt to a collector for the amount of £36 so I guess I'm not getting that call back. They were given 4 weeks notice of cancellation as I felt the club fell short of the membership I was paying for . Othe issues i found people were spitting on the floor in the steam room and sauna and that was the final straw for me to start looking else where.
