Positive experience: I recently joined this gym, and it has been quite nice. Although the size of the gym is a bit compact, this gym is very tidy and organised, including the shower room and the bathroom. Worth it.

Positive experience: Quite small and not with many equipment

Negative experience: How has this place got so many good reviews! Obviously these members have been no where else. If you are paying more than 9.99 a month for this then you need your head examined. A real lack of equipment here all squeezed into a very small area, I really struggled to get on any machine, I always try to find an alternative exercise rather than stand staring at people waiting for them to finish but there just isn't enough equipment for everyone. Also there are no proper changing rooms, they have shower/toilet combination rooms which is absolutely disgusting and of corse you have to stand and wait for 1 off the 3 become available and when you get In there, wow, the Filth is next level, "pure" lazy is all this gym is and an insult to all of us members. Pure gym "local"? I'm not coming in for a meal deal, I want to train and get out, preferably clean after a nice shower. Shocking.

Fantastic experience: Small but well equipped gym, it can get busy sometimes but people are friendly and willing to take turns. The staff are always very helpful - shout out to Adonis Bloor the assistant manager who goes above and beyond for the gym! Keep up the great work!

Negative experience: UPDATE: So after my review and receiving some generic response about dealing with it. Guess what they did? They locked all but one shower. So instead of cleaning in the morning, it’s better to just limit access in an already limited access gym. I am very reasonable, so I waited till my 2hr30mim session was over, which was well after 7am to see if someone would come and clean. For £30 a month, asking for a clean shower first thing in the morning is not too much to ask. If The Gym Group can clean their changing rooms at 3am, while advertising to be the cheapest nationwide gym, I don’t understand why PureGym who deems themselves as superior lack the basic essentials. I will be taking my services elsewhere. PureGym, purely disgusting For some reason, there seems to be a trend in PureGym where bathrooms aren’t cleaned in the morning. Getting to a gym at 4am and expecting the bathroom and shower to be clean, may be a stretch. But if The Gym Group can clean theirs between 12am-3am, everyday, I don’t see why PureGym can’t, especially since they charge more. Left at 7am, and guess what, bathrooms and showers still dirty. I go to work after my routine and need to shower in the gym. Not keeping it clean especially in the morning is not only unfair to clients, but to the reputation of your franchise. After experiencing this TWICE in two different locations (check my review at the other Camberwell PureGym) in under 24 hours, not sure I will be renewing my subscription. Also to the grown man who can’t wipe down his hair after a shave, I hope you get folliculitis you prick.

Negative experience: No hot water in showers. This is not okay especially as I was expecting more given good ratings

We have recently made slight changes to the shower temperatures, to 33 degrees, both to control our energy usage and to reduce our carbon footprint. Fantastic experience: Love this gym not too busy and enough equipments for me to use. Big credit to the guy who comes and train 2:30am every night he cleans up all the messy all dumbells and weights on the floor and puts them back deserves a recognition.

Fantastic experience: Lovely helpful and attentive staff, clean and safe equipment Equipment is excellent and brand new, with a good range, plates and DBs are always in order and stored appropriately. Cleanliness around the gym is excellent. Improvements would be; bathrooms are sometimes a little dirty during busy times, lack of changing areas and over subscribed with members. Cleaner also once accidently threw away my tote bag even though it was hanging in the changing coat area for around 1 hr... :(

Fantastic experience: I just finished a Weightlifting Workshop with Sydney and wanted to say thank you for showing me the ropes and for making me feel comfortable in an area that I found very intimidating before. Positive experience: On the plus side, this is a very neat, compact, clean and friendly gym However for me it lacks certain equipment (I didn't see dumbells above 40kg and machine range is much more limited than other PureGyms). Additionally there aren't really changing rooms. You get changed and showered in the accessible toilet or cubicles, which are quite cramped. This gym is fine if you want cardio machines and some weights for relatively straightforward body workouts. But those needing heavier weights and a wider range of machines would be better off at the other Camberwell PureGym But like I said, can't fault the intimacy of this gym, and the staff are far far friendlier and nicer than in other PureGyms.

Positive experience: I started the membership a month ago and I can say that I was bit disappointed with the installations, there's no stairs machine, very small workout areas, not many lockers, showers and changing rooms are an open space. I joined a group class and they do not have a room for it, just use the main area, where you can see other's annoyed because now they have even less space. Other than that the gym is most of the times clean and you don't have to wait too long to be able to use equipment on peak time

Negative experience: I gave this gym 4 stars before, but now it's a 1. It's frustrating when you want to clean the equipment but their is no sanitiser available. You tell the staff and they don't refill it. I'm annoyed.
Hi Mary, thanks for taking the time to leave this rating, but I'm sorry to see it's only 1 star. We do apologise for the inconvenience. Staff do undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. But we can of course check the cleaning rotas so if you let the Gym Manager know when you’ve visited they can properly investigate and also ensure our sanitisers our kept full. In the meantime, I hope you're able to make the most of the gym and reach your personal fitness goals. Thanks, James

Fantastic experience: Great little gym been coming here for a few months now and l love it!! Sometimes it can be busy but its like everybody is considerate and understands that its not a huge gym so it makes my workout good. The ventilation is good. I think the staff are ok, don't really interact with them as much, but anytime i do they're upbeat and friendly. Id say the only negative is that during sociable hours i like to be greeted when walking into an establishment and the odd times when i come in staff are busy teaching classes, on general duties or assisting others. Other than that GREEEEEEEAT little gym!!

Negative experience: No sanitizers or other hygiene supplies. Your "hygiene station" is constantly broken, and you need to spray gallons of it on the paper to bring some of the liquid to the actual machine. Do you support covid? Do you want to be close again? I thought you were a healthy organization. By the way, a spray should be part of any gym, not just because of the pandemic.

Fantastic experience: I started Pure Gym 5wks ago now, I've found the staff very approachable and really helpful A top gym where anything is possible Sadly I've had to put the gym.off due to an illness but fortunately I'll be back tmr. The perfect gym if you want to workout and get advice, I never thought I'd miss it so much.

Negative experience: Run away. the management makes you feel that they are the boss and you are nothing. makes you beg for having a locker available and if the lockers are full and therefore decide to don't leave your bag hanging in the locker room unsafe they suspend you subscription and ask you to beg to be accepted again at there gym. If you looking for a gym in the area I strongly recommend to don't even bother with Puregym and to go to Easygym instead very friendly management

Fantastic experience: This is my current gym. I’ve been a member of far more expensive places (gym box, Marriott county hall etc - these are also good generally) and I think this gym is great - it’s very clean, has friendly staff, with pristine equipment. Plus it’s open pretty much 24/7, which is great if you like a late night workout. I’m in my 40s, so gyms with lots of young people can sometimes feel a bit intimidating, but the staffs’ friendliness really rubs off on everyone and it’s a nice environment to train in. Check it out - it’s really low cost so you can’t really go wrong!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, staff are always friendly and happy to help. I find that other gyms can be quite intimidating. But at Camberwell the staff are always laughing and engaging with members. I would call this gym a bespoke gym, with quality instructors and classes. Clean, organised, fun gym to train in. Great Gym.

Positive experience: This is a cute little PureGym! Nice to have treadmills by the windows for some natural light and the wooden walls are cool. It’s just a bit small so not great when busy

Fantastic experience: Very good gym. I've been coming here, whenever I'm back home, for 3 years now. It's one of my favourites. Quite small, lacks some extra space and a few machines. Other than that a typical, well equipped, pure gym.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, everything you might need even a shower. Staff a super friendly. Facilities are very clean. Not the biggest facility which can be a challenge during peak hours. If you're going to be doing supersets you're better off getting that workout in earlier

Positive experience: The gym equipment is all clean and brand new. People are kind of following the really well sign posted cleaning routine. They have little areas sectioned off in the middle of the downstairs part for people to exercise in which is a great idea. The gym staff are regularly walking round and checking if there is enough blue roll and surface cleaner. I'm glad the gym is open and that they are working hard to ensure people's safety and health.

It's great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall and we hope your time continues to be positive. Our gyms are very popular and can become busy, especially at peak times! The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. We have implemented a section to the website and the app which informs our members how many people are in the gym at that time and a graph to show the previous busyness of the gym on certain dates for comparison which we have found has really helped our members plan their workouts! Fantastic experience: The best gym I've ever been. Very small and changing cabins instead of rooms, but if you live close by, you definitely need to try this gym! It has everything you need, it's not super crowded and PTs are amazing!
Negative experience: They had a £18.99 a month deal for signing up before it opens and I did that, now I walk past and see it's £12.99 a month! Feel ripped off for getting in there early.
