Anytime Fitness Ilkeston

Fantastic experience: First session today and this gym is excellent it has a variety of equipment every thing you could need the equipment is also up to to date and in perfect condition the facility is very clean the staff are so helpful and friendly I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new gym 5 star and the fact I have 24 hour access is an unbelievable bonus

Fantastic experience: Great gym, the staff are great too, friendly atmosphere,open 24 hrs. fitness classes and PT sessions are available too.the gym has just had a revamp and quite a few more machines , equipment ect and have something for everyone , no matter what your goals are

Negative experience: Was told I could cancel at anytime given I provide 30 days notice, at no point it was mentioned this is after a 12 month commitment. As I signed up in the office itself I didn't read the contract (yes, that's my fault for being an idiot) However I am now stuck with paying 8 months for a membership I can't use after moving and my closest club being an awkward location and without the facilities I would like. I don't want to have to start a new membership elsewhere paying £40 ontop of the £37 to anytime fitness. So I'm stuck £37 a month down and no access to a gym. So yeah, do not recommend.

Negative experience: The fact it's above a McDonald's is enough to give it a one star. You have to do the walk of shame when you enter and leave, while you watch people order their greasy food... food that you can smell from inside! It's very degrading, for both myself and probably the person ordering the maccies. After I canceled my direct debit, I also got charged £40 due to canceling my direct debit through my bank, rather than the website, even tho I told them face to face that I was going to cancel it!!! As for the gym itself, it had everything you need and the staff were nice, but given they charged me a fine for canceling their direct debit, I'm giving it a generous 1 star.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to the gym to help improve my fitness and gain more confidence. The staff are amazing, knowledgeable and very welcoming and the equipment they have there is great. The gym has everything I want and need. Would highly recommend and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Negative experience: Very disappointed! I got a membership in Ilkeston Anytime Fitness and I want to stop it now, but they don't let me to. The woman from reception said that I can stop it any time with a month notice without explaining that its going to be impossible. I signed the form by trusting her which is my fault I disn't read it. Now they ask for evidence. I feel like ai started a new job. Its ridiculous the way how they are trying to keep people. Be aware, dont trust receptionist, always read what you signed!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of gyms on and off for most of my adult life (don’t google me because I don’t look like I have) and going here for nearly two years now. I can honestly say it’s the best gym (for me). It’s really great value, well organised (equipment) and has the best team who are always on hand, friendly and helpful. I’m sure certain times are busier (after work maybe) but you can find times that are really quiet if you don’t feel confident or like you’re ‘a gym person’ but really want to go.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym: clean equipment; nice showers; plenty of weights; helpful staff and a great monthly price. Highly reccomend, training there for over a year.

Negative experience: Gym equipment is okay but I’ve tried to cancil my gym membership due to certain reasons and they have declined it so a young 19 year old like my self has to keep paying for a terrible gym which Is £37 a month by the way and it’s just terrible, do not get a member ship here as they just want all your money

Negative experience: Place is that busy it turns a hour workout in to a 3 hour work out constantly waiting for machines the free weight room you can't even get in any more used to like this place till they started offering discounts to anyone who Brough a friend now it's a joke

Fantastic experience: I can’t rate this gym highly enough. There is plenty of equipment to do a great workout regardless of your goal. The staff are very nice and friendly. Not too friendly though that they get in your face. Equipment is always clean and functional with new equipment coming soon. Especially enjoy the competition within the gym on the monthly challenges

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, really helpful and knowledgeable staff. Went for a visit and didn't realise how big it was. Became a member straight away. The fact that there is a gym that doesn't dictate when you workout because of opening times, is a massive advantage.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member here for almost 6 months now and I remain as impressed as when I first joined. The gym kit is some of the best available and Kate, one of the PT's, really knows her stuff. Would recommend them anytime (obviously)!

Negative experience: Having cancelled my membership at the beginning of August with the manager over the phone called Simon, this request wasn’t carried out as agreed, received a text message advising I’m in arrears, spoke to a young lad who advised he will get it sorted recieve another text on the 18th September, so I called the gym to advise this was cancelled at the beginning of August, spoke to an extremely rude and unhelpful women named Emma who advised she is the new manager, advised her of the situation that has happened her response was Simon no longer works here and it’s not her issue and no cancellation has been received by letter so it’s not cancelled and your contact is a legal binding document (which it’s not) so I explained her again and her response was very rude and unprofessional, this was a fantastic gym but has gone down hill so lately no wonder when you have a manager who behaves unprofessional and not understanding of anything you tell her, never the same person in either. What was a lovely gym has no become a badly ran gym who clearly are only interested in getting members and have no after care or basic customer service. This would be zero stars if there was the option.

Negative experience: Overall AF in Ilkeston is not bad but is not great. Edit: As an ex staff member I find it extremely weird that they block me on there social media. For that and many other things they do as a company they should be ashamed off!!! I'm changing my score from 3 to 1. Unfortunately 0 is not an option.

Negative experience: Poor layout and miserable management. Badly stored weights collapsed next to me, nearly beheading me and destroyed my 500quid mobile, they said it wasn't their fault and I couldn't claim on their insurance!!!?! Racist owners, miserable staff, Emma compares people from Europe to her dog… cos she’s so above everyone with her great P&L account. Keep pushing memberships in Tesco, marketing genius!

Fantastic experience: Just started, great selection of machines and different areas to train, free weights area, machine area, cardio and separate class room. Shower and toilet facilities really good, disabled toilets and shower room, disabled access. Personal trainers are available, staff on reception really helpful. Good pricing considering its open 24 hours a day. Not too busy even at the normal "peak" times. It has the anytime fitness apps available for all different workouts as you go along. Enjoying it so far, will keep this updated, watch this space...

Negative experience: Was a member from the opening of this gym, people complained about making noise, when lifting and putting down weights, this gym is for your grandma, very limited weight training machines, and terrible changing area.

Positive experience: Quite a small gym but they've done the best with the space, there's 2 full Squat racks, the dumbells are a bit miss matched and I did struggle to find some pairs. In terms of cardio machines there seems to be a limited amount so potentially very busy during peak times
