Positive experience: staff at the desk are friendly and helpful. the showers at the swimming pool are grim. a couple of the lifeguards are vigilant - especially one of the women. some of the younger lads might as well not bother, don't watch much. pool times are rubbish, constantly taken over by swim club. gym is good. spin classes are good but by no means for beginners, very full on.

Fantastic experience: Rented basketball half court. Staff are lovely, the facilities are clean, and the court and hoops are kept in really good condition. It was really well priced at £12 for an hour.

Positive experience: The main reason I go to this gym is because it has a sauna and a spa bath; they are, in fact, the cherry on top of my workout cake. Most of my workouts are weight training, and the centre has what is needed. I would, however, recommend they acquire 2 or 3 extra sets of weights, similar to the unit in the centre of the gym, which goes from 1kg to 10kg. There is always a shortage of weights in this range, as not all of us are able to work the higher weights, and there are quite sufficient of those. Also, I would recommend gym music and not public radio. I have pressed the questionnaire screen to this effect every time it is available, but it seems to fall on deaf eyes. Most staff are efficient, and some are quite robotic and prefer not to smile, greet, or even make eye contact. However, there are two professionals at this establishment, which is another reason why I enjoy going to this gym, and they deserve the utmost recognition! Steph is phenomenal as she greets all the patrons checking in by name. Yes, let me repeat that. I am greeted with my name. You are brilliant, Steph, and your constant good disposition at 06:30 is infectious and inspiring.Thank you, Steph! Tim, the instructor upstairs, treats his area of work as if it were his own. He is an instructor, according to his uniform and his interactions. However, you will find him constantly cleaning, tidying up, and ensuring the patrons are well looked after. In fact, he is the only one I see with this vigour and passion. Thank you, Tim!

Fantastic experience: Great choice of activities, including swimming and a plethora of classes to choose from. You do have to pay a small sum for parking before 4pm, which is a shame. It's near the town centre & the river.

Negative experience: Clean and warm pool prices are starting to get very steep though compared to other pools with a bigger range facilities. They have no care for theyre customers either, they decide to fix a door when the pools in use making me and my young son walk all the way round through the corridors in the freezing cold to get back to the changing rooms . When the door bar could of been fixed when the pool wasn't in use.

Fantastic experience: Excellent, modern sports centre. Never been before. It's just behind the new fire station. There was a lot of us there for a county Badminton match and it was a shame the cafe shut an hour earlier than the sign said and a lot of people had to go elsewhere looking for food.

Fantastic experience: Large car park ( pay & display). Really good facilities, climbing wall....one day !!, swimming pools ( adjustable floor for kids !!), exercise gym, games courts, and really nice , good value cafe . Very popular

Positive experience: Quite a mixed experience. I only swim, so can't comment on the gym, climbing, or other facilities. Yesterday we were refused entry as 'the pool was too full'. Sometimes it's quiet, and lovely with maybe 6 people in the pool, friendly staff and recently cleaned. Or it's the opposite, queues out through the front door, people queue jumping, broken hairdryers, toilets with no loo paper, showers with abandoned plastic rubbish and used tissues. There are only 3 private showers next to the main pool, so if they are all in use, you can use the communal ones, but if the lights are off in the communal changing room, you'll need to go Dripping into reception to ask for them to be switched on, and then wait shivering for 10 minutes while they find someone who knows how to do it?!

Negative experience: Very dirty changing rooms, broken hair dryers, overall just unsafe. Clearly no cleaning schedule is in place. Main pool is too cold, not suitable for toddlers, I saw kids shivering. Receptionist could do with some training and some customer service skills.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place for exercise and fitness with a swimming pool, sauna, climbing wall etc. Spacious gym with all the up to date equipment and a nice little cafeteria/sitting area in the main entrance where tasty snacks and drinks can be bought. It's all spotlessly clean.

Positive experience: Sometimes difficult to just get swimming due to amount of clubs but on the whole clean and tidy.

Positive experience: Disabled shower seat was broken & dangerous on Fri 6th Jan. It fell down as I was using the shower and I narrowly avoided injury. Reported to the reception desk, who informed me she'd tell the lifeguards! I suggested maintenance would be more appropriate. We'll see the next time we go if things have been mended.

Negative experience: Used small pool. Loud music, and no disabled access unless you use a hoist. My friend who struggles walking and uses a stick felt humiliated by having to be hoisted in pool.

Impressively clean; only place we’ve seen regionally where they mop floors super frequently so that each batch of kids isn’t trampling in increasingly dirty puddles. Cafe perfectly targeted at tired post-swimming families.

Positive experience: The Facilities are the only reason why I go to this leisure centre. Gym refurb is actually amazing, very impressed and you can’t fault the pools and I love to use the health suite. The staff however need a serious change of attitude and better training in customer service. Especially the reception, not all, but some. For example - On arrival I could see the lady at the desk was busy on the phone and could hear it was a sales call so I waited patiently with understanding. However it became very apparent the manner of the way this woman was speaking to said customer was actually quite rude. She finished the call and continued to ignore me at the desk until I said hello and I asked if she was okay and can I get a wristband for the health suite. Her behaviour continued towards me which left me feeling quite annoyed when Iv actually come to relax. Another example, the other day I had forgot my card, apologised, and gave my information for her to look on the system to confirm I am a member. My surname can be difficult to spell so I phonetically spelt it to which the woman Interrupted me and to quote ‘don’t speak it that stupid way I don’t get why people do that I don’t know it that way’ I took a breath and spelt it normally, again, she was abrupt and told me to slow down and kept huffing at me. At this point a queue was forming and she making me quite uncomfortable, especially when she said ‘what kind of surnames that, where’s that from’ I awkwardly laughed it off. Then she said sharply ‘next time bring your card’. And don’t even get me started on trying to ring through to reception when checking if classes are still on. Also I wanted to add - I then went into the changing room and heard duty managers gossiping negatively of other staff, very catty. Maybe be aware of your surroundings in a space where the general public can hear you.
