Fantastic experience: l have been at David Lloyd Cranmore in Solihull for a year. The atmosphere here is fantastic, and it’s truly enjoyable to be here. There is someone I especially want to mention: “Ahmet.” He is one of the managers at David Lloyd. He always goes above and beyond to meet our needs, and his solution-oriented approach and genuine support are incredibly valuable. I have read some harsh criticisms in some reviews about maintenance issues; however, I have personally witnessed these types of problems being resolved quickly, many times. Such minor issues can happen in any facility, but here, everything always runs smoothly. Thank you, David Lloyd Cranmore and Ahmet.

Negative experience: As an events supplier i helped this venue with items from my business in a no cash deal on the understanding payment was via a free membership. 3 yrs have passed , multiple visits to see multiple personal and still they chat and mess about. Im a self employed/sole trader and to give up my time and effort for a nationwide company to then be told there not going to honor the deal after theyve had the service is very very poor.

Fantastic experience: Very good and clean facilities, with exceptional squash, tennis, badminton, etc courts and a massive swimming pool. Interactive for kids and can go there for family fun days. Food service is great, with brilliant pizza and chicken fingers. Overall it is one of the best places for sports.

Fantastic experience: Jasmine introduced me to David Lloyd’s, and I’m so glad she did! She made the whole sign-up process easy and really motivated me to get started. Since joining, I’ve noticed a big improvement in my energy and overall well-being. I couldn’t have made this decision without her support and encouragement. she is an amazing asset to the club and would recommend anyone to sign up with her!

Been a member for over 25 years and this is the worst I have seen this gym.( David Lloyd Cranmore) The club is sadly woeful which is an understatement to say the least! There are more broken/ rusting pieces of equipment than currently working. Last night I counted 6 treadmills, 3 ski ergs, 4 stair masters & a rowing machine that were all out of action plus a rusting smith press machine & leg press) the place is an absolute joke. The humidity from the indoor pool is probably a contributing factor which doesn't help if the equipment isn't maintained regularly. Even the toilets were in No fit state.If this is meant to be a flagship club(which is always trotted out in the annual membership price hike email) I would hate to see the lesser options in the portfolio! Stop ripping us off and start giving your members value for money!!

Negative experience: Giving 1 star as there is no option of giving 0 or negative star, else I would have done that. When you join the membership sales staff will be available immediately, will convince to you join, even if by providing misleading and incorrect information. Once you have joined they disappear. My daughter was unethically sold the membership and despite of 3 visits and multiple emails matter is not resolved. I am now ready to escalate it to their CEO and ready to go to ombudsman if needed.

Fantastic experience: I had a tour of the gym with Jasmine. She was very pleasant, well informed, professional, open to questions and got me a hot chocolate. Joined on a platinum membership

Fantastic experience: I had a meeting today with Jasmine and as I said straight away she is an old head on a young set of shoulders. I have a disability which means that me joining a health club has it’s complications but she had done her research and was incredibly professional, articulate, knowledgeable, patient and kind. I could list lots more, but I would be truly grateful if you could both pass on my thanks and give her the credit she deserves. I would also like to mention Sophie your deputy manager who was the first member of staff I met and gave me an instantly positive impression with her manner, kindness and professionalism. Fantastic experience: Jasmine was incredible on the tour, super informative and bubbly, answered any questions i had and was lovely to talk to.

Negative experience: If a picture ever spoke a thousand words, it would be this. All show, no substance. Don’t get me started on the taps that dribble out water and the sauna that is either beyond the red line and excruciating, or tepid warm. That’s if we’re lucky that it works.

Negative experience: Stephen and the club have ignored my emails I spoke to skye re cancelling my membership yet your sending emails regarding payments. No reply since July. Membership team is non existent on their phone lines. Absolute joke. Such an appalling service since I joined the club. Awful customer service and ignored emails. Other members have noticed management changes so often, honestly shocking. Front desk staff have no idea what they’re doing.

Fantastic experience: Amazing team, great food and calming environment, very good!

Negative experience: Broken female sauna (several weeks), broken plunge pool (over a month/also really dirty), broken body hub machine (three months). Outdoor pool and spa area are so dirty and it really smells by the pool on hot days. Lots of showers have broken temperature controls. Lots of dirt around jacuzzi area, came out of the jacuzzi last week and there was chewing gum on my legs and my swim suit as well as my partners swimming shorts. Raised this and have had my swimming costume replaced with one from the front desk shop, but not my partners. The whole area is still really dirty. Emails asking when things will be repaired and requesting that outdoor pool is cleaned are just ignored. Why aren’t maintenance addressing these issues immediately? I signed up three months ago and this is not the service I was expecting and certainly does not reflect the fees we are paying. We really enjoy the classes and the outdoor area but this is not worth the huge fees in my opinion. Just be informed when you sign up. Leaving a review here in the hope that action is taken, hoping the outdoor pool is cleaned at the very least, my emails are having no impact!

Fantastic experience: What more could i want on a Friday night watching football on a treadmill. Other than 10 pints and chicken madras of course. But im skint paying for my membership so im here instead.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined David Lloyd Clubs in Cranmore, Solihull. Beforehand, I was given a tour of their club. They were very informative and answered every question I asked them. Since then, I’m having a great time here! There's something for everyone such as; Gym, Swimming Pools, Classes, Bar/Restaurant and Tennis Courts, just as a few of many examples. The facilities are beautifully maintained and cleaned everyday. The staff are so welcoming and friendly towards their members. I really can't find anything at fault here! Even though David Lloyd is pricier compared to the other gyms within the Solihull area, you’re getting a lot out of your membership and I’m looking forward to spending at least 3 days a week here!

Negative experience: I had no luck with Cranmore's DL. I only suffer from them. A place that I thought would relax me after 50 hours of work a week makes me yearn. Their communication is the worst in the world. They don't respond to emails. They don't care about solving the problem, they just need to maintain the attitude that "nothing can shake us". I received a fine in the parking lot and nothing was resolved. To this day, I'm still trying to understand when that machine for recording car license plates came about. Now I found out. Those mummies who stay at the reception don't even inform you for a while that now they have to register the car at the entrance. The rubbish sign that the NPC put up in the parking lot, now I read it, doesn't say how long I can use the parking lot. You can see that this Club brings out the worst in me. Unfortunate. Be careful when joining this club. You will have many surprises if you are not there often and read all the warnings scattered along the way. You will have no email and no letter. And you for yourself. Fight bravely.

Fantastic experience: I started another David Lloyd and was not happy, that I wanted to cancel within a month. I asked about transferring to Solihull though there was a price increase, but it was the best decision I made. The whole team is amazing, the facilities and how inviting it is, if you have kids. I can't fault this club at all. It is a warm, welcoming and friendly environment. They think as though they're the customer to ensure you're happy. I'd recommend it if you're reading this.

Positive experience: DL Solihull is very nice to visit. The staff are helpful and polite. The club is well appointed with good facilities. Food is rather expensive and has small portions but this is the same across the group. The facilities for kids are excellent with a very nice kid specific swimming pool with built in water toys. There is also quite a large soft play area with a nice sitting area for attentive parents. Fold down seats in shower cubicles would be helpful. Nice. DrT

Negative experience: 1 Star for suhayl who is in charge of the tennis class. I went for my first class and the guy really convinced me to leave as the class would be too hard and that im not good enough for it (without seeing how I play). Obviously I left as I had no option. Unprofessional and put me off

Fantastic experience: Family of 4 joined recently, really enjoying it. Staff are friendly and helpful. As part of the joining process we have had Achilles as our PT, both me and the wife. His energy and knowledge makes these sessions brilliant. Some sessions are busier then others but there's always space if you book in advance. Most importantly they keep on top of the cleaning.

Not only have I seen significant improvements in my physical health and strength, but Olu's approach to fitness has completely changed my outlook on exercise and well-being. Fantastic experience: Recently did a few PT sessions with Olu. I’ve always wanted to go and get back into shape but never felt the confidence to do so. Olu helped me find that confidence again, he was extremely patient and went out of his way to do things in his extra time to try and maximise the results from his sessions. Fantastic experience: Had a brilliant PT session with Olu! Was patient with me from the very start and took time to understand why I’ve struggled with PT’s in the past who have pushed too hard/ not tailored my needs etc. Olu talked me through what I needed to do and also helped me with breathing techniques to help with my Asthma. Highly recommend Olu to anyone that wants to have an outstanding PT experience.

Fantastic experience: Had a personal training session with Achilles last week and I would describe it as a holistic experience. Getting fit is a mind state - not only physical, and he has really reinforced that for me. I have struggled with gym anxiety, aswell as a genuine lack of confidence in day to day life. Having a trainer that's not only well educated on physiology but mentality has been a game changer for me. Thank you Achilles, you really have changed my outlook on my health.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been at DL for over a year and have really enjoyed the classes and facilities. I would highly recommend any of Achilles classes. He’s very encouraging and his energy is very motivating. He's also helped me improve my technique and always informs you on why certain exercises are beneficial. Looking forward to seeing what I can achieve with the help from Achilles especially with PT sessions as his knowledge is something that can translate into other areas of my fitness journey !

Fantastic experience: My favourite DL gym, the reception team are always happy to help as well as the PTs. Achilles has been super helpful even if not training me I’ve learnt so much about training through him.

Negative experience: HEALTH & SAFETY DISASTER!!! I have been a member at this club for 4 years now. Been using the facilities a lot especially badminton courts. For a premium club, the courts are not great but recently they have started allowing pickleball along with badminton. HEALTH & SAFETY wise, there cannot be anything more worse than this as this is a hazard just waiting to happen. The pickleball comes onto the badminton court and its a matter of time somebody falls over and breaks their back. A number of complaints have been made but no response yet which makes me believe Health & Safety Risk Assessments are not taken seriously. New members wanting to join please be aware of this lack of H&S culture at the club. We had to resort to our own H&S measures as the pickleball players don't want to take any responsibility nor does the club management.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Yoga/ Pilates class I attended a practice this evening with teacher Julie Melvin. Julie has a lovely relaxed temperament for a class like this. Challenging but enjoyable and allowing for the varying degrees of flexibility among the attendees. Well done.Julie !

Fantastic experience: Kids and me had great fun time and we had birthday party here as well. Food is delightful and staff is ever so friendly. Kids really love all these coaches, massive thank u for all of them.

Negative experience: The quality of this club has dropped dramatically over the past couple of years. Unfortunately the cracks are starting to show as the result of lack of maintenance. The Cylone (cycling) screen has been broken for over a week, with no apparent urgency to fix it. Members are penalised for cancelling prebooked classes but its apparently fine to put the classes on with the system not working. Guests should be offered recompense for this, a drink or food voucher maybe? The changing room lockers are falling apart, the showers often run cold, the shower gel is often empty, the jacuzzi is either cold or not working, the spa area is dirty, ceilings in the changing rooms are black with mould etc etc …. These might sound like small issues but with membership prices being recently increased, members should be able to accept a very high level of quality. At the moment, it’s simply not good enough.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member here now for 8 years over the past year or so the club has become more like a leisure centre & still putting fees up & charging premium prices Turn up at 5pm and try to park your car…..good luck ( no spaces ) to many members!!!! The showers are disgusting - broken tiles - soap dispenser, broken - ceiling full of mould!! Life guards walking round the pool area with NO shoe covers WHY? The jacuzzi area is full of gunge from not being cleaned!! I could go on & on Hopefully one day soon they release it’s below standard for the price we pay and give it a good good refurbishment!!

Negative experience: BE AWARE!! Had my watch stolen from here this weekend. Thieves are targeting DL. Signing up at cheaper clubs and driving to premier venues. The security needs upgrading, the lockers are years old! Some staff are helpful, others do not care. For the money you pay it’s not the experience I expect. Not to mention the extremely poor spa facilities. The club is out dated in comparison to other DL clubs. Also barriers always up allowing anyone in the car park with no cctv on entrance no wonder thieves are visiting!!

Fantastic experience: I'm currently having PT sessions with Fran, fabulous at motivation and absolutely smashing my gym confidence. I would recommend sessions with Fran to any of my friends and family, also to people that are just a little nervous of the gym floor. I've had five sessions and can already notice a difference in my self. Thanks Fran!

Fantastic experience: If you’re reading this maybe you’re trying to decide if you should sign up with a personal trainer. Well, look no further, Fran at DL Cranmore will motivate you! I’ve trained for years and I know what I’m doing I think … but never really had a goal other than to keep fit. Frans helped me look at my goals and helped me plan how to get there! Fran proved me wrong goals are a good thing something to aim for challenge yourself. I’ve learned new training methods and started to enjoy training again. Being accountable to somebody is great making me show up when I didn’t want to! huge game changer … online support is super too little tips on nutrition and recovery from Fran has been really useful !!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at David Lloyd for few years and really enjoy it! I have just started PT with Fran and it’s fantastic, he really explains everything and has even made me feel comfortable using the weights, which I would have avoided before!

Fantastic experience: Have to say the service from the membership team, in particular a young woman called Skye, is superb and nothing is too much trouble for her; she goes above and beyond and has sorted several memberships for me and my family. Skye introduced us to some PT's and helped us arrange tennis lessons for our two teenagers and two younger children. Tennis coach Jay is amazing and manages our younger two brilliantly! He is an incredible young man and we are so happy to have found him; his teaching style is just second to none. Cafe is lovely and outdoor space fantastic. Like being on holiday!

Fantastic experience: In my experience the best gym in the West Midlands without doubt. Staff can’t do enough for you. Equipment is second to none. Ahmed is always on hand to deal with any issues Iv had. Top bloke!!

Fantastic experience: As we come up to 7 years working with Gary Wickett I feel this amazing PT needs a mention. From day one of meeting Gary he has always spoken to Santino, which is a huge thing when most people talk to the person Santino is with and not to him directly. Santino had a brain haemorrhage 12 years ago and getting him back into the gym (which he always loved) to help his recovery was important In the early days when Santino couldn't stand or walk, Gary helped get Santino on and off equipment. He was an instrumental part of getting Santino to walk again, doing walking sessions with him every week in the studio. Gary has taken the time to understand Santino's disability and create his exercise regime around it. He always keeps the PT sessions fun and interesting, chatting away to Santino throughout, so that Santino thoroughly enjoys his sessions with Gary. Gary has taken Santino into Blaze, adapting it to fit Santino's ability, but still making it strenuous so that Santino came out dripping wet He loved it. He must be doing something right, as Gary is one of the few people involved in Santino's recovery that Santino remembers the name of when he isn't with him. Thanks Gary for all your hard work, you are an absolute star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love the classes, the gym and pools, it is such a welcoming and friendly place to be. I wanted to give a shout out to Hazel for her amazing sports massage. She has so much knowledge and explained everything making me feel at ease, I would definitely recommend booking in with her!

Negative experience: For an overpriced membership you expect to be able to book onto classes and have decent customer service, of which David Lloyd have neither. You can’t book onto the classes you want, at the times you want because they are so busy. They refuse to provide more classes at busy times. You can’t get through to anyone in customer service unless you are messaging them on the app and the membership advice team are viciously rude and purposefully unhelpful. There was a time when you could call up and get help, but you are referred to the app instead. The customer help line is only for potential customers they have not yet sunk their claws into. Oh and they have no problem increasing your membership cost every year and if you do want to leave, make sure to provide notice or they trap you for THREE more months of payment, even if your contract has expired. Appalling really.

Fantastic experience: Lovely atmosphere, there's always availability in the swimming pools, gym, dining tables. It can be busy at school holidays as lots of kids about but all in all there's always something to do. Great showers, and plenty of things to do.

Positive experience: Lovely gym, great for younger children. I have given 4 stars as in my opinion they do not cater enough for the 11-13 age range. A special mention for Fran who is the best Blaze instructor and a great PT.

Fantastic experience: A great facility where the staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Used the studio here a few times last year and it couldn't have been easier and more straightforward. A particular shoutout to Ellen Tozer for being so helpful, she was wonderful.
