Negative experience: Not the best PureGym. Big area inside but not a lot of machines.
Fantastic experience: Jack was really great and looked into whether I could have my assistance dog when I was suffering heavily with my disability as well as giving me emotional support himself
Negative experience: Dirty floor entrance, cracked walls, tv's always off, weight area small, been looking dated and dull for years. Hunting for hand sanitiser. The place doesn't give people the motivation to come, I'm not happy when people ask me what gym I go to, because it's a disappointment.
Positive experience: Ok, not the best pure gym. Gym it self is large, has good length parking and fair amount of cardio machines. 24h open and pretty cheap compared to other gym around. Equipment layout is bit trash. Weight plates are everywhere, really messy and no care in the place. There is only 1 deadlift platform placed very awkwardly, 80% of the machine are quite poor so you get what you pay.

Positive experience: PureGym gets a 3.5/5 overall from myself. 24/7, good price month to month, has most of what anyone needs, however they are busy, frequently have poor hygiene, higher rate of inconsiderate users and missing or worn out accessories, plus often misplaced or missing weights. Sturry Road Quieter of two Canterbury gyms in my experience, large reasonably laid out, small functional fitness area for size of gym. Is also cleaner and better smelling of the two Canterbury PureGyms but that's not saying much for a Puregym. Parking times outside can make a longer work out a little difficult.

Fantastic experience: After injecting myself with a healthy amount of the devils juice. I entered the Gym to happily find that i Mog every person in the building. I could comfortably lateral raise 60KG, as a result after this lift A queue of fans came before me. WOW! i Am a king i muttered to myself. So proudly i would like to announce i will be changing this gym to Jamerson Cutherburtians Gym. Many thanks, Jimbo.

Negative experience: The gym is great, big and spacious - the good news ends here, this gym gotta be the dirtiest gym I ever been and been in a few, for example the one in Wincheap Pure Gym - is clean, super friendly staff, very helpful always on the floor, here nothing - empty, we have been to our own devices and dirt - the toilets are very dirty and smelly - made me gag - , just the dirtiest place ever period. Never gonna go back for sure, if my gym shots I stay away from this dirt pit.
Fantastic experience: So glad I joined PureGym. The Sturry Road one on particular, there is always parking and not too busy (you can check how busy in advance using the app).

Negative experience: Gym is great. I’ve been a regular for 3 years now. But Ben the manager was very rude and blunt. I asked to borrow a phone charger for 2 minutes and fair enough he wanted to use it himself. But he didn’t have to be condescending when all I wanted was 2 minutes of his time. I’m strongly considering changing gyms.

Fantastic experience: One of the best puregyms I’ve been to in the UK. Staff and members are really friendly, it’s always clean regardless of day or time, and the gym itself is gigantic with tons of equipment. Really great PureGym and management should be proud of what they’ve done here.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, and I couldn't ask for better value for money . Has everything I need the app even shows me how busy the gym is before I go, and when the peak times are, at 24-hour access, I can always find a time that suits me.

Positive experience: Bulldozed my perception of PureGym. As a total beginner I thought it would be awful but I've really enjoyed myself, all the machines are relatively easy to understand without help. Good layout and there seems to be a good amount and variety of classes. Would be better if an induction was offered when signing up though or there was a clear reception. Staff seem nice enough but not overly approachable for a novice.

Fantastic experience: As good a gym as all the rest of the chain, decent setup and friendly staff who know what they're talking about. Plenty of parking outside and most importantly LOTS of attractive female members attend :)

Staff do undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. Negative experience: Gym makes no effort to follow covid regulations. staff don't even wear facemasks or enforce their own policy about social distancing or cleaning equipment before/after use. Left a review about this on the official site and it was removed because it "contained legally sensitive information" so they clearly know that the standard of covid safety in this gym is abysmal.

Positive experience: Very disappointed today as I was informed that, despite signs to the contrary, the gym is not deep cleaned overnight! When I entered the gym at 06.05 this morning there were small pieces of paper towels scattered on the floor and one of the paper dispensers was completely empty. As far as I could see there was only one cleaner hoovering up obvious dropped paper and was very far from deep cleaning. Very disappointed.

The gym is deep cleaned through the night and through the day the staff clean the gym and equipment every 3 hours to non clinical NHS standard. Fantastic experience: PureGym Canterbury offers great value for money but still has plenty of equipment. Several popular classes are held throughout the week. Wide age range in users, the gym is open 24/7.
Negative experience: Good range of equipment, reasonable price but sadly far too many members for the size of the place, making it almost impossible to access equipment to complete a workout.
Fantastic experience: Love this place, great to go and just workout without pressure. Very friendly staff and helpful. Nothing is ever an issue.

We do have manned hours in all our gyms, where a member of staff is present: this could be a Gym Manager, Personal Trainer or part of the Cleaning Team. Our gyms are also monitored 24/7 by CCTV. Staff can be running classes or with a client so there can be a delay in one being readily on hand to assist you, but as soon as they are available they are happy to help all members! Positive experience: Good gym and reasonable fees. But be aware it can get very busy in there making it very difficult to complete a decent workout.

Positive experience: Not bad especially for the price. What they do have: Plenty of treadmills, x-trainers and bikes(spin room) None of which have an entertainment interface, it's all stats regarding the exercise you are doing. They have a Powerplate (rare to find in gyms especially in SE Kent) A lay-down hamstring curl machine (more effective than a seated one). Good selection of Kettle bells, slam balls and one chunky battle rope. Plenty of benches in the free weights section.

Positive experience: A good gym. Cheaper than most and has almost everything you need. Because of this is attracts a lot of people at peak times. Places like DW have more equipment (and a pool) but is double the price.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for about three months and finding it a great clean gym. Obviously there is the odd piece of equipment you wish was there but I mainly love the fact you can just rock up at anytime. Open 24 hours a day.
