Negative experience: This “swim teacher” needs to hand his resignation in, with a group of kids that cannot swim, 98% of his time spent head burried in his tablet, lifeguard other end of pool hardly checking the kids, as a swim teacher I can say whole heartily your kids will not learn how to effectively swim only line their pockets with cash with your repeated visits here for your kids to “learn” how to swim, I strongly urge you look elsewhere for swim lessons, for your kids safety and your wallet!

Positive experience: Decent pool size and staff were nice. Pool and showers did look a bit dirty and its a shame there is no hot tub/sauna/steam room but the pool itself was nice and was a warm temperature.

Negative experience: Reception staff doesn’t know what they are doing there, I came in to renew my membership and a ‘receptionist’ couldn’t do that because there’s only one staff member who deals with memberships and she was absent, so she offerred me to make an appointment for renewal the next day and to pay £7,50 for today’s gym.. Also, payment system is so complicated, you’re not allowed to pay by month, have to sign a year-contract, if you want to terminate it (e.g relocating) you pay fine, or contact the central office in Kings Lynn to provide them reasons in writing and proofs, etc. Apart from poor service, the gym is miserable as well. Highly NOT recommending..

Positive experience: Great pool, and friendly staff. Only issue was that showers could do with a decent clean.

Negative experience: Refused to take cash for monthly membership of the gym or swimming also refused cash for kids swimming lessons . After 10 minutes of question as to why I was then told it’s £25 a month for any of these if I pay direct debit as member and sign up for 12 month but if I want to pay cash it’s £40 a month the facility’s are week at best for swimming with minimal showers so u have to wait turns even tho there not enough time as swimming sessions 1hour 15 minutes so by the time ur changed and had a shower after swimming ur lucky to get 55 minutes of swimming. And £40 cash for gym member ship with gym facilities are very limited . I think this place is a joke and will never return .unless ur a local to downham market avoid the leisure avoid this place

Fantastic experience: I came to the pool to have my niece join in on a program called "Otters" which is swimming for the disabled. The staff I met were in uniform, smartly turned out and seemed to be fully invested in helping the disabled participants in the pool. The lifeguard was rotated out approximately every 30 mins if not less. Knowing fresh eyes were on the pool the whole time have me comfort. The entire centre we walked through was clean, well presented and decorated pleasantly. As I was only there for the pool I don't know of all the facilities, yet there seemed to be many different areas for a variety of sports. The pool area was clean with a seating area available with glass overlooking the water so my niece knew I was not far away.

Positive experience: Me and my little one enjoy the pool but I do find it very unpleasant seeing how dirty the floors get. They get absolutely covered in hair and god knows what. I have seen staff clean the floors before but I just think it needs to be done more often that's all. I was in the pool for an hour and a half with my little one the other day and before we got in the floors weren't clean, and then when we got out hey we're still the same.

Negative experience: Waste of time! Phoned up to take my 1 year old nephew swimming spoke to a man on phone who had no clue, assured me was family time swimming at 12:00 turned up and was told swimming ends at 12! Should train staff better of employ people with an I.Q

Positive experience: I like the facilities and staff are friendly and very accommodating, my husband just get a membership and using it a lot after it went back open. My kids love swimming in here and we love using it. But today I don't go for a swim with my family, so I get so dissaapointed as I was not allowed to wait outside the pool where they keeping the shoes are because of the covid so I had to go and leave and wait outside. Rules changing everytime (YOU had to stick up in one rules and not picking on customers when you feel like it!) as last week I waited the same place and all staff are fine and didn't ask me to leave and didn't say its not allowed to stay. All the staff don't wear mask especially the staff watching people in the pool so what's the point of telling the rules to customers when your own staff can not stick with your rules.

Positive experience: First time visitor to this leisure centre & I will be back! Positives: Very clear covid signage, very clean building (in particular very impressed with cleaning in pool changing area), plenty of staff, had to give my contact details before they would let us in the building (due to covid safe measures - this policy alone reassured me) Negatives: pool size - Perfect size for families but as an adult lane / fitness swimmer it was smaller than I expected. Lockers - at 20p they seam cheap, what they dont tell you is each time you lock the locker your money disappears. So one locker cost us 60p in total! Pool showers - I only found 4 showers in total (two out of action due to covid safe measures) but even 4 working showers would still not be enough in my opinion All in all I would happily return due to covid safe measures & standard of cleaning - just bring a bag of 20p's if your taking a family swimming

Fantastic experience: Excellent for one to one swimming lessons. Pool is clean, changing areas are clean too. Sports court area looks good where there are a variety of activities available. The gym looks quite small but well equipped. The Hudson is much closer for us but this one is worth travelling the extra distance for.
