Negative experience: Poor building poor equipment poor staff useless manager stay away

Positive experience: A nice gym with a decent range of equipment and facilities. The gym is maintained well and seems to be clean. The staff are generally helpful and pleasant. I would only suggest that the showers could be maintained a bit better as some have been worn down a bit. Also if opening hours could be extended a little, especially on weekends. I was a member when the gym was actually part of Fitness First chain and it was open longer until 10 pm on week days and also longer on weekends. But apart from this, the gym now is fairly good and managed well.

Fantastic experience: Very nice gym experience. So far, I did a lovely pilates class and went exercising using the equipment. Staff and class leaders are lovely. Gym equipment is new, it's big and not crowded. Totally makes you want to exercise :-)

Positive experience: Friendly staff and decent gym,if you don’t use the showers it’s great. If you use showers when there is more then one person the pressure drops to a dribble of water coming from showers..I had to change gyms as I would normally use in morning before work and would be left unable to shower

Fantastic experience: Went here with a day pass when car was being MOT&serviced. Staff were verry friendly, pleanty of kit, sauna was ideal and gym was clean, bargin. Would recommend and will return when local

Positive experience: The gym management needs to invest in some new equipment and machines. They ones they have are now really old. The selection available is limited and about 20 years out of date.

Fantastic experience: Signed up last night and did my first session here today. Must admit, I have been and trained at many many different gyms over the years but Better Gym Walsall Wood is brilliant. Value for money and overall size / equipment / quality is 10/10. Super happy and the staff (Ryan) who showed me around was fantastic also. Plenty of car parking, nice cold water and even has coffee facilities (charged) if required. Looking forward to using the facilities again, great gym that offers everything.

Positive experience: Good classes and a fair amount of equipment. Some equipment could be updated though. Steam Room would be better if it had 2 different sitting levels, as the current single sitting level does not allow you to get even 50% of the steam temperature

Positive experience: Was a member for around 3 months. Got disappointed with the condition of the equipment. Machines broken and kettlebells, dumbbells missing etc.

Positive experience: Good gym, visited in June 2022 for the first time in over 3 years when I was a regular member. Gym hasn't changed in all that time, still exactly the same machines and weighs as there has always been. Not much investment in the gym by the current owners. I suppose lockdown hasn't helped.

Positive experience: It has loads of good equipment and a range of activities to do, however, some of the staff are rude, I’m debating on having a membership with them again as now I feel uncomfortable going into the gym with the attitude from the staff.

Fantastic experience: A fabulous, friendly, family orriented atmosphere. The staff and members are always ready to share good advice and support. Happy training days .

Negative experience: Not for me felt moody in there , heard there had been break in on parked cars on car park to.

Negative experience: Joined today and left today... joined on line and wasnt told i needed an app to get in, also not told that i had to book a place to use the gym also app didnt work on my phone so couldnt get into the gym. Waited for at least 15 minutes for a member of staff to help me no one came. Might try again cause i have paided for the month but dont think i will

Positive experience: Went to renew my off-peak senior membership that was £12.50 p/m following Covid restrictions easing to be told it had increased to £21p/m..... Not happy!

Fantastic experience: I use this gym regularly and they adhere to the social distance rules plenty of sanitiser and cloths and paper to wipe down the equipment Staff are on hand to show you the way round the gym , it’s well marked out with tape and signs and everyone seems to be following the one way direction ..... There where two lads came in the exit way this morning which isn’t allowed but Rue was straight out off the office and correcting them and made sure they scanned in which I was very pleased about otherwise I would off approached them .... I feel safe there as it’s all social distancing and clean

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a few years now, local to where I live so nice Gym to have on my door step, Staff are always polite and has a very well layed out gym floor , plenty of machines and free weights Like the new APP for booking , seems to all be working well during Covid opening

Fantastic experience: Started going here since last November and I love it, has 2 floors full of equipment so plenty to do. Changing rooms are so clean and big, sauna and steam room is amazing not many people can hack it though :p does get busy at peak times but thats expected! My fave time to go is around 2 when its quite.

Positive experience: Budget gym but has everything I need. Previously toxic atmosphere now much pleasanter after some of the old fitness first staff have left. Generally appears clean but don't look in the drinks holders on the treadmills unless you like ancient, black lumps of chewing gum etc. Safety clips on treadmills also appear to be encrusted with old chewing gum! Not a great feature.

Fantastic experience: Great local gym. Was a member here for a year before relocating. Used to be fitness first. Has a vast clean changing room and sauna/steam room. Gym is well equipped over 2 floors. Good equipment. Classes seem to be popular but never tried myself. Recommended

Fantastic experience: I can't fault anything, it's a clean facility with very helpful friendly staff, it has everything you need and more at a great price, never have to wait for a machine as there are lots of each, plus a great variety of equipment overall. Also it has an onsite beauty facility which is a bonus.

Positive experience: Nice clean gym, water fountains are poor and there's always machines that are out of order. Doesn't get to crowded, sauna and steam room always empty which is a bonus.

Positive experience: Great place for a work out sauna and steam room are perticularly relaxing However a few years ago I was accused by the gyms staff luke downing and two others whom I can't remember their names when it was fitness first of breaking into the gym and was arrested over it but put on bail whilst it was sorted it got squashed because they mistook me for some halfcast lad when they realised their mistake they said I was welcome to carry on using the gym and it's for this reason that I have just cancelled my membership plus I have not been in a while

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym I attend at 1:45 each day and can get on anything and staff are amazing, the gym is always clean and equipment is well maintained.

Negative experience: Used to be a good gym but not since Better gyms took over. Not as many classes as before or as many PTs . Broken equipment takes ages to get repaired. No sound system just music from TVs. No atmosphere. I have noticed that most of the good reviews on here are a year or so old when it was Fitness First and was a good gym .

Positive experience: I like this club. I'm a cyclist, so spend a lot of my spare time on the road or on a trail but I like to keep an overall level of strength and fitness. So when it gets cold or it's raining, dark or dismal this club becomes my home. I can be anonymous if I want to but there are a few staff who always chat and offer advice if necessary. And I don't have a sauna at home!

Fantastic experience: When exercise is fun it doesn't feel like exercise at all. Is very true point! And at fitness first exercise is fun!
