Welcome Gym Sutton

Negative experience: ROBBED OF MY MONEY! I've been given 3 parking fines - for parking in the car park I am entitled to as a member. I may have forgotten to sign in on the screen, such is the result of my ADHD ( a disability) I gave the gym my fines - and was told they would sort it. Instead of telling me they couldn't, I had to find out with further letters from debt collectors and that my fine had doubled. I have managed to pay the fines myself at reduced amount. They gym can only offer me reimbursement with membership. I had already left the gym as I am moving to a new area. They refuse to reimburse my money. I would expect the gym to have better control with those that manage their car park to avoid their members getting fined. This has happened to many others - hence they have removed this parking service management. I am frustrated at having to re-join this gym reluctantly to attempt getting some of my money back after having moved areas! Distasteful .

Fantastic experience: This is huge gym spread over 2 floors with all equipments you need, a fitness classes, women only area, aerobics, boxing, etc. with 3 hours parking which is icing on the cake.

Fantastic experience: Favourite gym I have tried so far in the Sutton area. Lots of equipment that is well maintained. Very friendly staff and gym goers! Can get busy at times, but rarely find it so busy that it affects my workout. I am almost always able to use the weights/machines I need. Sauna in the women’s changing area. Overall 5 stars

Positive experience: decent gym its not too bad, but it can get quite busy and has limited hours .It has some decent equipment but would love to see more brands and equipment ,many plates are also left on the machines this is mainly down to the people there not the staff, but overall i think its a very well rounded gym

Negative experience: I must say that I am quite disappointed as the gym have raised the price 3 times en the last year. However they are not offering anything additional. Firstly, the gym equipment is not well-maintained, and many of the machines were either broken or not functioning correctly. This made the equipment unsafe to use and created a risk of injury to the users. Secondly, the gym toilets are not very clean. The lack of hygiene in the toilets was a major concern, and it made using the facilities quite uncomfortable. Overall, the lack of maintenance and cleanliness ok the male toilets in the gym is disappointing. It is essential for gym to maintain a high standard of hygiene and equipment maintenance.

Positive experience: Decent gym. Friendly staff. Huge space that could be better used. It lacks martial arts classes, but this is a personal opinion. Some machines are a little old, sometimes out of service. Overall delivers a good value for the price.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined this gym and I have no regret that I instantly went for annual membership. - Every member of staff is very friendly, approachable and professional - All machines are well maintained and clean - Floor/mat space and machines are always available even in the busiest time - Female locker room and toilets are always clean - Simple and competitive fee structure - Gym members are respectful, motivated and creating good atmosphere. I have never seen anyone leaving machines/equipment dirty or messy, nor occupying them for too long.

Fantastic experience: Good set up, good selection of equipment and trainers. Justin really pushed me and his GRHIIT class is just what I needed, especially after not having been in a gym or class for a while. Good balance of fun, encouragement and performance.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. I've been a member for years now and always enjoy the classes here. Nice, friendly vibe and great value for money. The PTs are all great and friendly. Special mentions to Jamie, Marty and Charlie who all run great classes.

Fantastic experience: I love Welcome Gym! The staff are friendly & helpful and always on hand. The classes offered are varied and it’s easy to book a place and try them all out. I recently signed up to the applicable strength course run by Justin (getred.online) & I’m enjoying the new challenge. I especially like that his focus is on well being & strengthening your mind & not just your muscles!!

Fantastic experience: My training and online training and mental health wellness I joined Welcome Gym when my old gym closed down and I thought I would never find a gym that match my old one. I love Welcome gym, it’s great value for money, the equipment is fantastic and the running of it is highly professional. The boxing area is well equipped and there is plenty of room upstairs for hiit or cardio work. This gym is by far the friendliest I have been to. Their top priority are their members and great care and dedication is taken to making this gym live up to its name. I can highly rate Justin Emmerson for his personal training and his care towards mental health. Justin understood my goals and with his attitude and attention to detail I became stronger and more confident in weight training. Justin not only will make your body stronger and fitter but also your mind as his mental awareness towards his clients is also his top priority. Justin helps me understand myself gives me the tools to help my mental health and awareness through his 121 sessions and online support and I have so much to thank him for in that regard. You can rely on Justin for having your health in body and mind are in good hands.

Negative experience: LONG story short, been visiting this gym for a year and a bit now and have began to notice staff members looking at me extremely deviously, decided to hard w key the vending machines and food due to my bulk sessions starting. then, one of the workers crawled toward me on all fours growling so i threw my grenade protein bar at him, but this attempt to stop the beast didn't work, he began to get closer and eventually was traveling at around 10mph toward me still on all fours, during this he began to growl "ill swallow your kidneys" at me in a devilish voice. me being just 3 foot 11 tall, was defenceless and vulnerable so i began to release gonorhea molecules from my winky, THIS HAS HAPPENED ATLEAST 3X NOW IN A MONTH. I EXPECT A LIFE SUPPLY OF GRENADE PROTEIN BARS IN THE POST

Fantastic experience: Welcome Gym is an excellent venue for everyone wanting to achieve their goals, I'm personally recovering from injury and have everything I need to reach my goals. I highly recommend this place

Positive experience: Big and spacious gym. Fair equipment although its maintenance isn't the best. Quite crowded on pic times. Good value for money as membership is under 30£.

Fantastic experience: I attend Emily's Saturday class "Strength and conditioning" and really enjoy it. It is absolute full body workout and I felt great after every class. I hope she is running more class during the week.

Positive experience: Great gym with warm, welcoming staff. Classes are great, in particular circuits on Wed with Martyn and Power Bar/Intensity with James on Fri. I'd recently plateau'd a bit with weight loss but since starting PT sessions and adding in circuits, have dropped another dress size! A few more weekend classes would be great but keep up the good work team!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the Gym for many years. Great friendly atmosphere, value for money, and is not too overcrowded like some of the gyms in Sutton. The PT instructors and classes are really good, so much energy, and everyone gets involved to push one another. Marty Geer the PT who takes boot camp and circuits has endless energy and patience and really likes to make sure your form is correct and you understand the exercises whilst mixing it up. The classes are never boring and you leave with a buzz. Pilates with Bernadette also deserves a mention as it's a really great class and does push you.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Welcome gym Sutton for several years. Great value for money. Classes are excellent offer varied programme to meet everyone’s needs. Newest instructor is proving to be popular due to his engaging gregarious nature as well as offering interesting challenging exercise programmes. Friendly club

Fantastic experience: Been a member here for years, great trainers running the classes (charlie, miira, james, leanne for yoga)! And shoutout to Emily who runs the Saturday morning Strength and Conditioning class, very motivating and with a great playlist too!

Fantastic experience: Great local gym with plenty of equipment, never the need to wait for anything. Love their boxing area too. PTs are all great, Miira, James, Martyn, Connor etc...but a special shout out for Emily....she always runs a great class, focusing on form and she won't let you drop the pace...however hard you try!

Fantastic experience: I have belonged to lots of gyms over the years (Virgin, Nuffield, Pure, Fitness first) and have enjoyed using the Welcome gym in Sutton the most. This is due to the instructors and the early morning lessons. The gym instructors are great. Charlie is a brilliant instructor and her classes are worth joining the gym for. She has a great connection with her class and you always come away feeling like you've had a great workout. Amber has recently taken over some classes and has quickly found her feet. Her classes have rapidly become popular and she really pushes you. Jude is also quite new to taking classes but appears to be a natural. He's very personable and has created a great atmosphere in his classes. It's the instructors and the early morning classes that makes the Welcome gym in Sutton stand out from the other gyms in Sutton.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place. Best gym I've been to in years. Open planned 2floors, boxing area, free weights area, Smith machine area. Rarely waiting to use a machine.

Fantastic experience: The member of staff offered a tour around the gym as it was our first day. Reasonable facilities and spacious gym for different workouts.

Positive experience: The membership price was £22.99 in October 2021 and now it's £26.99. I guess that's still good but it's stopped me from rejoining until I get a payrise to match. It's a decent gym but they have the music so loud that sometimes you can't hear your own tunes so you need noise cancelling headphones. Have there been any improvements or new machines to justify the price jump?

Fantastic experience: I’ve got to be honest I rarely bother to write a review good or bad, however I felt this was important, I recently joined welcome gym Sutton, firstly I was taken around the gym to view all areas and I was impressed, whilst this gym has a great lay out I feel it holds thst gritty side to a gym, well kept and safe space work out areas. My impression of the staff is very high, from their smiles to their eagerness to help you, guide you, It may seem mundain to point this out, but they have staff cleaning equipment all the time also, very impressed with the continuous clean as you go aspect/// everything works, Loved the Combat room, 6 punch bags hanging. Up, guys I’m very impressed with the diversity of this gym, plus the studio area. Staff friendly helpful professional, you cannot go wrong with this gym, I rate. It 4 star, if it had a sauna for the men it would be a 5 By the way the ladies have a sauna!! Lucky girls Anyway best of luck for your approach to fitnes for whatever reason, classes are great!!! Love this gym❤️

Fantastic experience: Adequate space and quite equipped. Welcome gym has an outdoor carpark shared with the cricket club. The best gym l have seen in Sutton surrey area in London. They offer a good membership fee for life members.

Negative experience: Very unhappy with our 48 hours of experience with Welcome Gym, no phone number and a poor contact service for customers worried me from the get go. We went in anyway as it was cheap and fairly local. Upon signing up, it all went wrong and we decided against it, the customer service was poor, lack of ability to contact and a general attitude that shows they are a cheap and cheerful site and always will be. Response: We tried to sign up before the membership went up and use a friend's code, unfortunately the staff member, albeit helpful, was not able to help much, could not contact head office and was very honest about the fact that contacting them was almost impossible and we were not able to get the membership we wanted. And after all the issues, the lack of ability to contact worried me and all in all, decided even for the price, it was not worth it.

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym after Go Gym at the top of Sutton closed down and it keeps going from strength to strength. They have added more weight and machines since I joined and redone the men's showers. Currently it is busy but never too busy when I go to the gym and the atmosphere is friendly. The one negative is that they increased the price by £2 After I joined and it closes a bit early on Saturday and Sunday. But it is still very reasonably priced and open good hours the rest of the week.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this gym for years and I am impressed with all the changes. However, now the gym has had a name change my direct debit has increased by around £6.00 a month. I thought I was on a rolling contract and that my membership cost would not change? Grateful if the manager can explain why the cost has increased so much. Since posting this review the manager Shane has been in touch and resolved my issue. Fantastic customer service and very quick response. Thank you Shane, my husband and myself are very pleased with the service we have received and look forward to another year at the gym.

Fantastic experience: Just joined up recently since the closure of my local gym and on the recommendation of one of the trainers who has just started. What a great gym, the staff are friendly and always welcome you and say bye when you leave. The gym never feels crowded as it's a big space and the classes seem full. Other members seem respectful and friendly. The boxing area is excellent and great for me. There is work going on, which is nice to see as you do want to see things being improved. They could do with a few more benches in the free weights area, but the upstairs is very good with excellent non-weight facilities and cardio machines. Definitely recommended!

Negative experience: Have been a member of the gym for 1 month and had to leave due to monthly prices being increased but facilities being average at best. Gym closes at 6PM on weekends but charge more than the 24hr gym facilities available in Sutton. Beware when you end your membership as you can only cancel your membership by cancelling the direct debit with your bank. the staff will not accept any other means to cancel your membership. As soon as you cancel your membership your gym membership will cease and you will lose any unused days left over in your contract. I have never seen this practice anywhere else and basically everyone loses something in the form of monetary value as it is impossible to cancel a direct debit coinciding with the end of contract. Disgraceful. Update. My credit card provider has refunded me the money owed by gym. If you are ever affected like me then please contact your bank or credit card company.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for over 2 years. Great price for the equipment and space there is at the gym. Have made a good amount of improvements this year. Changing rooms and showers being upgraded and a water fountain. More exercise machines have been added along with others like a big tyre and sledges. Big plus point is there's a car park right outside! Don't get that with many gyms now. Overall very happy with the sevice and will continue to be a happy member.

Negative experience: It used to be a very good gym but now classes are getting bad as you don’t know who will be doing class no information on the website especially classes in the morning. You get up early in the morning for class and all different people turns up to take the class. They need to sort this problem out.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym since it opened and have always enjoyed being a member. The gym is well equipped with more than enough machines in the cardio area and has a good range of assisted weight machines also. The free weight area is also good with a decent amount of benches. Classes to choose from to suit a range of schedules and needs. The staff and trainers at the gym have always been friendly and welcoming and I have seen a lot of positive changes in the gym over the last few years. Over all fitness4Less is great Value for money and offers alot for the price.
