Negative experience: They sent me an email “wearing a hood when entering the gym”. It was raining and I had my hood only at the beginning and they give me warnings about this. I find this really frustrating. Cancelled my Gym membership straight away.

Negative experience: Horrible staff. If I could give 0 stars out of 5, I would. My membership got blocked because I didn't put a dumbbell back one time. They looked for me in their system personally and manually blocked my access. Of course they did not tell me so when I came in the morning I could not get in. No one was there to help or explain why I had no access. I call their support number but because it was too early no one picked up. I left in tears upset and frustrated only to find out at home that all of this happened because of one dumbbell. I understand they have a system but the least they could have done is let me know that my access has been revoked instead of letting me come to the gym then having to go back home. Heartless and inconsiderate. This is not how you treat people.

Fantastic experience: The Gym group is located inside Leytommills above TK max. They have two separate halls for training and various classes. The main gym has several equipment, machines and free weights. I tried the stepping machine and treadmill. Normally we train and easy access to ASDA. From there we buys chicken and all the protein we want. Exercise and shopping can be performed at same location

Negative experience: The gym is overcrowded, there aren't enough machines, just one extension chair, that's ridiculous. People want to force you to take turns because there aren't enough machines. There's also a lack of mirrors.

Negative experience: The gym is too small and lack of devices, there’s only one leg extension what’s ridiculous for so many people. Toilets is always very dirty. Honestly I just go because it’s the nearest from my place. I’ve been to others the gym sites but this one it’s the worse for sure.

Negative experience: Chest supported row machine has been broken for weeks with nothing done about it. I arrived today at 5pm on with a friend and my invite a friend code didn’t work, pressed the buzzer multiple times with no answer. Absolutely unacceptable and very poor service.

Negative experience: I've been a member at The Gym Group in Leyton for a while now, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The machines are always busy, no matter what time you go. It's incredibly frustrating to constantly wait for equipment, making it difficult to get a proper workout in. It feels overcrowded, and they don't seem to have enough machines to meet demand. On top of that, there’s never any staff around to help or answer questions. Whether you need assistance with a machine or have general queries, you're pretty much on your own. The lack of staff support is really noticeable and disappointing. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the gym is a serious issue. The equipment often feels dirty, and the general hygiene of the place isn't up to standard. I’ve noticed that the gym floors, changing rooms, and even the machines could use much more frequent cleaning. It's honestly unhygienic and off-putting. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this gym if you're looking for a clean, well-maintained, and supported workout environment. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Negative experience: I give 1 star because of these things 1.Toilets always dirty ,sometimes no soap.. 2.The entrance capsule door thing that’s useless adelay the people ,creating an unecesarry queue and making people run late ..absolutely useless honestly ..sometimes it doesn’t even wor and you have to call .. 3. You charging £5 if I want to update the membership ?!? 4. The spinning classes room it smells of sweat really bad ,can you not use an AC or have the cleaners open a door ..last time I really wanted to leave cus of this ...Cmon guys …a gym should be hygienic and clean … 5. Loads of spinning bicycle broken Honestly I miss the fitness first… The only reason I go here is cus it’s very close to my house .Otherwise I’d never join.

Fantastic experience: Leyton gym group is just great! The staff, especially Andy and Andrew, are so friendly and welcoming, making every visit a delight. Negative experience: A nicely refurbished gym taken over by the Gym Group from Fitness First. Pricing is ok for 24/7 access but it gets very busy in the evenings. Now for some odd reason they don’t provide any sprays or towels to wipe down the equipment before/after a workout. Sometimes there’s so much sweat on the machines it is quite disgusting. You’d think after covid (arguably still ongoing), providing sanitising products would be mandatory. It is a health hazard in my opinion. The changing rooms are tidy but the choice of furniture is so odd! The bench is made of three wooden sticks with huge gaps which make sitting very uncomfortable. Plus they put rows of hooks right above the bench which could be ok for jackets but people hang their underwear and sweaty clothes on these hooks. All very unhygienic. The gym doesn’t always have staff onsite which makes me think what would happen if there was an emergency. It is remotely monitored but from who knows where. I guess you’ll have to rely on a member knowing CPR when it happens. The gym music is often too loud and I have to turn up the volume in my headphones even louder. I guess you get what you pay for.

Robust cleaning regimes are still in place and we continue to pump in 100% fresh air ventilation, day and night, we clean on a daily basis, including cleaning of all equipment and gym facilities with anti-viral products. We encourage members to bring in a sweat towel to use after they have used a piece of equipment. Having cleaning stations has resulted in a significant increase in the amount of paper waster and we are focussed on minimising our waste as part of our commitment to Net-Zero. We are proud to be the very first Carbon Neutral Gym Chain in the UK. This is just a part of our efforts, for example we are also taking steps to reduce the amount of single use plastics in our vending machines.

Negative experience: Disappointing Experience at The Gym Group Leyton: Unfair Treatment and Poor Management I've been a loyal member of The Gym Group Leyton, visiting nearly every day, and always ensuring that I put away the equipment after use. Unfortunately, recent events have left me deeply frustrated and disappointed with how the gym is managed, especially regarding fairness, communication, and safety. Firstly, I had issues with my PIN for over a month and a half, during which time I couldn't access the gym properly despite being on the Ultimate membership plan. Even though I reported the problem multiple times, there was no resolution or clear explanation provided. I had to use the "Invite a Friend" feature just to enter the gym, which only worked four times. I paid for the full membership but didn't receive the services I signed up for, and I never had my "Invite a Friend" benefit reinstated for the time lost. Secondly, my account was blocked without any prior notice or explanation, supposedly because I removed my top during a workout. This was extremely frustrating as I’ve seen other members do the same thing without issue. Out of respect, I waited until a nearby female member left before taking progress photos after my workout. Yet, despite being respectful and mindful of others, I was penalized. Adding to the frustration, I've witnessed a pattern of inconsistency in the gym’s enforcement of its rules. Every time I visit, the gym is in a mess. Equipment and weights are left scattered everywhere, massive bars are left with plates still on them, and dumbbells are lying around without anyone bothering to clean up. Ironically, my account was once banned because I accidentally left my boxing wrap behind—while others routinely leave heavier items out and face no consequences. Even more concerning, I’ve been physically pushed around by gym members while minding my own business, and no one at the gym has taken action to address this. The gym should be a safe place, yet these incidents continue to go unchecked. It feels like I'm being singled out while others get away with blatant rule-breaking. I have to ask, why is my account blocked for something so minor, when the same rules are consistently ignored by others? I wonder if this is due to some form of discrimination or just poor management. Overall, the lack of communication, the harsh treatment of loyal members like myself, and the unsafe environment are unacceptable. I’ve always respected the gym, yet I’m being treated unfairly while others continue to break the rules with no consequences. I hope The Gym Group Leyton takes complaints like this seriously and addresses both the inconsistency in rule enforcement and the safety concerns. If this continues, I’ll have no choice but to take this issue further. I want to see a fair and respectful approach to all members, not just selective enforcement. Update, how bad the gym group is, couldn't access the gym for 2 months no re embersments no nothing instead I'm there making sure I clean up after myself all the time every time, and they still ban my account saying I didn't clean up after myself, I don't know what they are playing it, staff useless people on the cameras probably blind monkeys cannot do anything, most likely got the perso. Mixed up and blaming me again and again for other people idiotic behaviours when ever I talk to staff about issues they do nothing. Useless people it's a shame cos it's a decent gym and I have a network built up of people, I hate the people working there now literally hate them with a burning desire couldn't hate them anymore, because I am not what they say I am and am not doing what they say I am doing, literal incompetant idiots.

Fantastic experience: Most of the machines are working every time I go, the personnel is super friendly and facilites are kept clean. Could use with more benches for dumbbells because it’s hard to get one close to the peak times but other than that, great gym at a reasonable price.

Negative experience: My membership was suspended on 12th July at 9 PM (the day I didnt visit gym) arbitrarily for 3 days minimum without any advance notice because apparently I forgot to keep one equipment back on the rack (a day before). Without seeking any clarification suspending my account on a Friday deliberately, to disable me from coming to workout for the entire weekend ( as the staff is not present on the weekend and the email I received from The Gym Group says explicity that I could only get myself unlocked on the weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm) , this was totally arbitrarily and uncalled for. This suspension was done on 12th July 9 pm - the day I didn't even visit the gym. If I had got an Email on friday morning for any such 'alleged mistake' of forgetting putting any equipment back, I could have visited before 8 pm on Friday to get it unlocked and clear the air. But doing the arbitrary suspension through email at 9 pm on a friday (after the staff timings are over), the management literally disabled me for 3 days minimum (Friday, Saturday, sunday) I hope to never recommend this gym to anyone else and shall hopefully find a new gym in a month or two. Thank you for this humiliation. Over and above this, the staff (who called himself the manager here) said we are also available on the weekend to speak. However their own WRITTEN EMAIL says I can come to speak to management between 8am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. No apologies but the manager actuallu said that 'I will remember from now on' is nothing less than humiliation and open disrespect. We pay you for these services and you guys don't even have up to date equipments and use some old outdated equipment. Moreover, every equipment has heavy weights on them ,which ai have to remove to workout. Ideally the ones doing should remove but guess they don't get suspended like I got for a pair of dumble. **Also, I noticed one more thing that today when I came to speak to this staff person today (he claimed to be the manager). I showed him the Email, he took my phone and started giving feedback to The Gym group from my phone. I asked him what is he upto , he said this is important so that he can know my ID to unlock. I stopped him and told, I could give him my PIN for him to unlock my PIN. The staff thinks we are dumb and don't know what they are doing using our own devices. Thanks THE GYM GROUP, Leyton for this humiliating experience . Shame! Negative experience: The worst gym I ever been to. The yoga mats are very dirty and old. The machines are grimy and the whole vibe is just off. I wouldn’t recommend it

Negative experience: I’ve been going to gyms for 15 years I always put my weights back but the management here accused me of not putting my weights back (would be good to see the video evidence) and suspended my account without even having a conversation with me first. Time to start looking at other gyms.

Negative experience: The customer service is appalling, if I could swear I would! I’ve signed up over two weeks ago and because I have a disability the T&Cs stated that I must have an induction before I can start attending, which I completely understand. The T&Cs stated that someone would call me which they haven’t. I’ve called the gym group and unfortunately I can’t access Leytons branch direct number. I have even try booking an induction on the app, completely useless. Currently sitting in my car whilst typing this cause I’ve even tried coming into the gym to get some advice but as I rang the bell whoever was at the other end of the intercom at 20.40pm. Monday the 17th of June, couldn’t even let me finish my sentence before dropping the call. It doesn’t take much to be kind. I’m paying monthly for a subscription service I haven’t used. Trying to use it only to get met with disrespect. Remember not all disabilities is seen and as someone who wants to start a fitness journey I’m already feeling anxious. Do better!

Negative experience: It's a decent gym if you're a beginner or on a budget However, when i went there there was a homeless man injecting in the lobby, not what I expected to see coming into the gym and I was really shocked, felt like I had interrupted a really private moment. Can the door in the lobby just be locked and coded ? Also the air-conditioning on full blast dried out my contact lens so badly and they began to smear (as a person with visual impairment I'm reliant on them) I definitely won't come back here!

The gym is always well-maintained, clean, and organized, creating a pleasant and motivating environment to exercise in. Furthermore, the group fitness classes offered by Leytonstone Gym Group have been a highlight of my membership. The instructors are passionate, professional, and create workouts that challenge and inspire me. The class schedule is diverse, accommodating various fitness levels and preferences, ensuring there is always something for everyone. Positive experience: Beginner gym, this is a decent gym if you want to start your health journey for a decent price. However it is always extremely busy and nearly every day a different machine will be broken which is inconvenient and annoying!

Negative experience: Most of 5 star reviews came from staff lol Hey take this C4 and i will do review Now latest how to get rid of many customers to gym just find a way. “Here it is dind them not to re rack any equipment and cancel them on Friday 2100 so we will have less crowd Last but not least they can’t cancel membership for one single person or trainer trying to train someone for 1 hr or more than 90 mins on one equipment, cause we need them Stop this bull** guys try to come with something!!! Being to this gym for more than a year thought of changing this gym but now definitely i will not only me i will try to spread to everyone who are and willing to join to this gym and tell them the truth!!!! Positive experience: Good space and airy. Shame on only having 1 fixed flat bench which resulted to one particular staff being pushy and condescending as they had a client and wanting to use it. This is despite the bench being already shared by 2 people. I wonder if this would’ve been different if it were 2 men using the bench rather than 2 women. Of course, management’s response is rather mundane and reiterated that ‘we share in this gym’. Interesting, as I have never known sharing a bench between 3 people is the norm when there’s adjustable benches elsewhere that were free.

Negative experience: First of all there is no spray to wipe down machines, nasty! Asked team members why and got a very fobbed of response. I was told the company are not providing sprays anymore and we should bring towels…… not sure about this when I’ve been to other gym groups and they still provide them. Can we just have one story and stick to it please. It’s either you do provide it or you don’t New parking validation machine system in place members not sufficiently notified resulting in many of us getting PCNS. There is no signage in or around the centre to notify that this is now what we need to do. After receiving my PCN on a new day I went to log my reg before starting my session and the machine wasn’t even logged in!! It didn’t used to be so unorganised here Update post managers half hearted response: This was a very dismissive answer and why couldn’t you address the parking and lack of signage?

Negative experience: Management (Andy) are disgusting! They accused me of doin personal training at the gym because I was holding boxing pads for a friend ……yet there are members in that gym who aren’t a qualified PT’s who have been doing Perosnal training in that gym for almost 10-15 years! Truly disgusting and biased! Andy is a coward! Andy is aware that people in that gym are doing personal training and are unqualified! But it’s 1 rule for his friends and a different rule for everyone else ! This is truly unfair treatment and I encourage senior managment to check CCTv to see how management turn a blind eye

Positive experience: Staff and classes are fantastic. Cleanliness is noticeable - in the girls locker room and all training equipment I have used. There's just one thing that really bothers me - air conditioners are always blasting arctic cold wind. Since I joined in Nov '23 there hasn't been a sigle training without feeling my neck and back stiff and hurting. I understand that a gym has to maintain cool temperature because we all sweat in there, but this is extreme and not healthy.

Positive experience: Good classes, wish there was at least one spray bottle and cloth, or a few stationed throughout as this would help cleanliness greatly. Some machines have some of the numbers rubbed off, which doesn’t help if you’re trying to remember how much you can do. It gets extremely busy and would love to have a women’s only period at some time of the week, as it can feel intimidating to be exercising with so many men (one of which very very kindly tried to correct my form).

Positive experience: you can’t just buy a membership to The Gym Grop, you need to choose a specific gym and go only to it, in order to go to the same gym but in a different area - you need to go through seven circles of Hell to change your profile to a new gym. I bought a monthly subscription and every month I paid £37, when the application promised me only the first month of such payment - the next ones should be cheaper. As a student, I could buy a subscription at a discount - only if I bought it for a year. Where will a full-time student get the money to pay for a yearly subscription at once? payment came automatically. On February 1, I paid for the month, on February 15, I canceled the automatic payment - and what did the gym do?! he blocked my profile. I walked to the hall for almost an hour and when I arrived, my code no longer worked. at 5-7 o'clock it is impossible to work out in the gym, there are a lot of people, all the exercise equipment is occupied. people could do the exercise and leave the machine, but they just sit on the machine - resting. I don’t understand why those who occupied the simulator have such a disrespectful attitude towards those who are waiting for the simulator to become free. One day my code did not work at the entrance, I called all the help points, I pressed the button to help people with limited mobility, but no one opened or came to help. It’s very cold in the locker room, I worked out - I went into the shower and froze because of the air conditioning and barely warm water. The change in body temperature led to me getting sick. I had to go to this gym and not take a shower in the gym. The gym was renovated and the exercise equipment was replaced; they are always in good condition. The hall app is not convenient.

Negative experience: Im really disappointed because they changed the equipment and they removed the leg extension machine, they preferred an abs machine that nobody uses, plus no more cleaning stations a basic in a gym, I don’t think is hygienic at all.

Negative experience: They were closed to be replaced with new equipment, which turned out to be much worse. Today I received an ear and head injury and will most likely file a complaint or go to court. I have been involved in sports for about 7 years and the first time I received an ear and head injury because the equipment was not configured properly. There was blood flowing from the middle of my ear and it hurts. I will never come to this room again. There are always a lot of people here who are not given basic instructions and are not told about hygiene. The toilet is always dirty. They even skimp on soap; it is diluted and it is impossible to wash your hands properly. The water drain buttons are stuck. People exercise in dirty shoes on mats. Some people put their feet on the treadmill panel while doing a warm-up, also without cleaning up after themselves, and then someone will touch with clean hands. They don’t even understand that someone else coming into contact with dirt can get skin and health problems. There is no sanitary station to at least wipe up after someone. The app doesn't work well and many people have problems logging into the gym. Equipment and dumbbells are scattered everywhere. There are few good simulators in principle. People do not understand how to use exercise equipment for their intended purpose, thus causing injury to themselves and damaging the equipment. Beginners probably don’t know that they need to put everything back in place, because they weren’t told. They throw weights with such a sound that in the tk makh, which on the 1st floor the flow almost falls and the neighboring exercise machines shake. This is the worst gym. I always liked to play sports, but thanks to this gym I got injured. Constantly, no matter how you come, there is stress. I'm shocked by this gym.

Positive experience: To summarise: it's okay. It closes pretty regularly for 2 days at a time for 'renovations' (although the equipment is pretty haggard), you regularly have to wait for machines as they're either broken or in use (if you ever want to use the smith machine, assisted pull-up machine or 12-14 dumbbells, in my experience, you'll likely struggle) and the atmosphere is a little unpleasant at times - particularly within the weights section if you're a woman. If the gym is busy you'll have to wait for most things. Having said that, if you're after a cheap gym for non peak time use, and don't need particularly extensive equipment, it does the job. I wish there was a better-equipped, bigger gym in Leyton with parking available, but until one opens this will do!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Step with Simone and Bootcamp with Nathalie Step is choreographed so it might take you a couple of classes to get used to it, don’t give up! Once mastered, Simone’s combination are so much fun! Bootcamp is intense but Nathalie is amazing, she pushes you to do better every time.

Negative experience: Lockers never available in the women's during the weekend as people leave their stuff and go. I guess the gym is not efficient or effective to do a regular checks, also damaged lockers. Obviously the price you pay that's what you get an over crowded place. Where you are always having to compromise and wait around till you loose your motivation. A place where there is no gym ethics, weights never put back. I am so glad I cancelled my membership!

Positive experience: I don't use the gym as it's far, far too busy 99% of the time but instead I go to a number of the classes which are great. Antonio, Ryan, Tony and Natalie are all great instructors. Classes are fun and push you to build on your fitness.
