Anytime Fitness Chelmsford

Negative experience: Closed down with no warning to the members. No communication from the franchisees since. If this is how you let people represent your brand then good luck! Real shame as the staff that actually worked in there were great and it was a decent and friendly gym. Would be nice to know what to do about getting back the fees you were happy to take only a few days ago.

Negative experience: It's closed, due to some sort of repo bankruptcy from the franchise owner. No warning just kicked all out n staff unemployed. Find another gym

Fantastic experience: It was a good gym, but it was a shame it closed down.

Negative experience: Worst gym that I've been to. Fake promises and got mugged.! Staff are nothing but liars.

Fantastic experience: The Anytime International membership really is that. I've been to many overseas clubs now, flash my keyfob and straight in with zero hastle. I love this gym. Spacious and spotless. All the standard Anytime/Life Fitness equipment plus Hammer Strength racks. 4 Olympic lift pads which is a lot for any gym. This one is extra special! They have some fantastic editions including some great chest and leg/squat setups. LOVE IT and went straight to those. Huge cardio setup as well, with plenty of cross trainers. I'm impressed with the setup. Can't wait to revisit tomorrow.

Fantastic experience: Alan is the greatest staff member. I've ever met at any work place. Never met a staff member so caring. Been at this gym 3 year's never met a staff member so friendly. He helped my claustrophobia. And helped stop my seizures from raising. By helping me the machines not making me as claustrophobic. Could never ask for a better staff member at anytime fitness. I'm so grateful Alan works here . Any member of this gym is lucky to be helped my Alan a true legend !!!

Fantastic experience: I joined Anytime Chelmsford in June 2021, after having my long-awaited hip replacement the previous October (I'm epileptic and had fallen down the stairs, breaking my hip, in the spring of 2018). I was massively obese from all that time spent in a wheelchair, and I still hadn't really learned to walk again confidently. I think I weighed at least 16st when I began my membership - and that was after managing to lose a fair chunk of weight by myself. I must have looked like a totally lost cause, but Jennifer told me not to worry about what other people might think, and promised me that *I* would enjoy the challenge as much as she knew she would enjoy helping me to get back on my feet again. And I did enjoy it. So much so, that I still have regular sessions with Jennifer. She's supportive, encouraging and we always have a great laugh together. I've been struggling with the symptoms of menopause recently and so it's been a challenge to find the energy and motivation to work out - but after some time off to learn how my body works (or doesn't!) with these changes we've managed to find a way to work around them. I always leave my workout sessions with Jennifer on an absolute high, feeling on top of the world. Would I recommend Anytime? It's the most supportive, friendly, inclusive gym I've ever been to. I wouldn't want to be training anywhere else on my journey back to fitness.

Fantastic experience: I LOVE this gym! I am a bit of a gym freak and have been a member/ tried the majority of gyms in the area and I can honestly say no other gym is as well equipped, friendly and inclusive. They have something for everyone, whether you like classes, cardio, weights, stretching it's all there! The range of equipment is amazing, it's not a huge space but they utalise it to make sure they have all the equipment you could want. I need a 24hr gym, and this is the only 24hr gym I've used which has been clean, tidy and still felt safe outside of staffed hours. Plus the staff are super welcoming and friendly!

Fantastic experience: Genuinely the nicest gym I've ever been a part of (and I've gone to a few) staff make you feel so welcome and has a great sense of community within the members as well. Jennifer really goes above and beyond to help everyone there happy.

Negative experience: Awful communication!!!! I know I am not alone in this situation already. Received a ”magic” email from the Collector agency about I owed money to Gym. No one contacted me from Anytime Gym company before, no call or email...no letter. Now it will affect my credit history. Is it really so difficult to contact your Member and talk to him

Fantastic experience: Great gym, friendly and helpful staff. Lot's of machines and free weights. £7 for a day pass is very reasonable in my opinion. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Chelmsford. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Fantastic experience: The best gym I’ve been to, I felt so nervous going as a woman alone but everyone has made me feel really comfortable. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to help me with equipment if I need it. The gym is clean and plenty of equipment/space for everyone. You can tell the staff take pride in what they do and it generally makes the place feel happier. Special thank you to the manager, Jenny, for being so welcoming and taking the time to get to know me/talk me through how to get the best out of my workout. I don’t think any other gym will compare from now on, the bar has been set very high!!

Fantastic experience: I started coming to this gym recently and I have been enjoying the 24/7 services. I like how readily available cleaning materials are. And I like the water filter. The restrooms are well kept and the gym is a clean place. There's a great variety of exercise equipment. I like how they provide weight lifting belts. Friendly staff always greet me when I enter and /or when I leave. I feel very secure and happy coming to the gym. And It makes working out all the more fun.

Negative experience: This gym is well over the price for what it has to offer. It's fairly small inside, only 3 changing rooms and not a lot of verity when it comes to weight machines. I only brought a month membership which cost me £50 as I needed to pay £20 for a plastic fob which should really be given free as you are already charging above average for a membership.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, great people who work there, beats all the other pop up cheap gyms around. All my staff use the gym and the women said that they all feel comfortable whilst in there. Highly recommended for all ages

Fantastic experience: Returned here after months away (due to injuries, work and then COVID!) and impressed with the COVID measures put in place. The majority of customers I have seen are cleaning down the equipment as requested. Adam and Jack both very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym: it's clean and welcoming; the staff are so so friendly, always willing to help and give advice and carefully consider feedback and suggestions seriously. Some classes are included in the membership fee but if you need some personal attention there is a great choice of personal trainers to suit every budget; also, it's open at all times so you can go when it suits you, and finally, they have negotiated discounts with a range of local businesses ranging from eateries to beauty treatments to coffee houses; what more does one need from a gym?

Fantastic experience: Great gym been a member since the summer, all the equipment works and is well maintained, air conditioning and the PTs on site 6 days a week are always very supportive and willing to help you out when needed. Additionally there are really good classes provided for free as part of your membership. My issue has been attending enough althoughthats on me, therefore 5 stars.

Negative experience: Hello. I have been here many times and have found it a reasonable experience. However, your staff are disgusting and often beat me up mentally and physically. And don't you dare say i'm not on your list as i have invested a lot of money in memberships. When I was at the drink fountain a staff member impaled me with his skull. Fantastic experience: Surprisingly large yet compact gym boasting a studio, open weight section, galleried cardio area and even a sun bed! Staff are professional and friendly and even the gym goer's seem a friendly bunch! Open 24/7, beside Chelmsford Bus Station - Recommended.

Positive experience: Great little gym. Convenient being next to the train station and town. 24/7. Has classes running most days of the week such as cross fit. Has a free weight area and more than enough treadmills. No pool but for pre and post commute its ideal. They also have a suntan room and several individual changing rooms

Fantastic experience: After sustaining a very painful rotator cuff injury (shoulder) due to running I found Brad the Physiotherapist to be extremely helpful and I had improved movement straight away. I saw Brad frequently over the course of a few weeks and I was greatly impressed with his expertise, professionalism and approachability. I would highly recommend Brad at Anytime Fitness. I feel so much better that I can run again after his careful and measured advice and guidance. Thank you Brad! :-)
