Positive experience: Great gym. Good subscription price. Just sometimes too busy and have to wait for machines I want to use.

Fantastic experience: Gym facilities at a reasonable price. It’s good for keeping fit but not for hardcore bodybuilders as there are limited weight training machines. ‍♂️Decent number of cardio equipment ie treadmills, cycling, cross trainers etc. The locker and shower area is well maintained, clean and tidy. ‍♀️ Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of onsite free parking.

Fantastic experience: I was working in Chelmsford for a month and was delighted to discover The Old Factory Gym to continue my training program while away from home. Signing up was easy, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The gym had all I needed: a free-weight section with dumbbells and barbells, a great variety of resistance machines, and plenty of cardio equipment. They also have a Functional Training Rig and a dedicated area for floor exercises, which was great for mixing up my workouts. They also offer a range of fitness classes throughout the week to add additional structure to your fitness goals. While The Old Factory Gym may not cater to those seeking a hardcore muscle gym or 24/7 access, it creates a welcoming atmosphere where you won't feel intimidated. It's a great place to improve and maintain strength and fitness with all the necessary tools. If you're looking for a gym with a friendly environment, modern facilities, free parking and good value, I highly recommend checking out The Old Factory Gym.

Fantastic experience: A great very quiet gym in the heart of Chelmsford (a rare find!) When I used to go to this gym before moving to a different area, it was always clean, staff were friendly and plenty of good equipment considering it is a smaller gym and the changing room upstairs was massive. Everything was very modern and easy to use.

Positive experience: Good gym. Very cheap. But you get what you pay for. Limited equipment but for the price it is expected. Everything always clean and shiny. I enjoy training here.

Negative experience: They don't allow you to cancel your membership by contacting them In writing. You have to contact their finance company who cannot be emailed or written too, only contacted by phone during the week. Awful buisness practice and feels like a scam. Quite happy to set up the direct debit on my behalf weren't but not cancel it.

Fantastic experience: Just a vote of thanks to Jess for her amazing help today. Having planned to run before I started working I somehow forgot to pack my shirt and jumper to change into! She found me a very nice ARU hoodie at a ridiculous price. Really bailed me out! In addition they have a Jog on shoe recycle box which I have used a lot. All of my previous visits have been met with great service by all staff.

Negative experience: The gym is okay, you get what you pay for. Low review is for the cancellation process!!! Please be aware that you can’t just cancel your membership, you have to give 30 day notice (had to also wait 15 min on the phone for someone to pick up). So if I’m cancelling my membership on the 5th of October, I would still have to pay for November as well!!!! Since it’s not full 30 days! SCAM !!! Please keep this in mind before signing up, I never had to do this before. Any other gym cancellation process was quick and easy.

Fantastic experience: Good gym with friendly staff and very cheap membership rates. The facilities are clean with a decent amount of cardio equipment, free weights and classes like spin and yoga that are included in the monthly fee. I would absolutely recommend this gym and in terms of value for money can’t be beaten.
