Fantastic experience: I have recently joined Red Kite and am having a fantastic time. The coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive. The community is very positive and friendly. I am currently doing a 12 week personal training program and my fitness has improved and I am quickly learning the art of Muay Thai. Dan is an excellent coach and I look forward to being a member of red kite for the long run.

Fantastic experience: I've been having 1-1 lessons with instructor Dan for the past 6 weeks and I would give over five stars if I could. I come from a fitness background but the workouts I've been put through have been a challenge to say the least. I truly get put through the paces and would recommend anyone to redkite who is looking to gain not only the next level in their fitness journey but also gain some confidence and make friendships along the way. The gym is welcoming with instructors who all come with different specialsed skills and also with all the equipment you would need to get started or even take the next step in your muay thai journey. If you're thinking I don't know weather it's for me my advice would be try it with these guys you won't regret it!.

Fantastic experience: I have been training here a couple of months now and have been welcomed by both members and coaches. All coaches have been fantastic (Dan, Will and Dom) and the gym provides a wide verity of classes at a reasonable price. All coaches are experienced and classes are very well run. I have also had some one-two-one classes with coach Dan. This has been with myself and my son. He has been amazing at coach my son (7 years) while working on technique with me! Would recommend!!

Fantastic experience: If you're considering taking up a combat sport in a safe, inclusive environment, then you need not look further than Red Kite. As a female in a male-dominant sport, I can say that the coaches at Red Kite listen to your aspirations and work with you to achieve them. I battle with ADHD and depression, but being at the gym with the coaches and my gym mates supporting me has been an absolute gift to my mental health. Getting to hit some bags, take the stress away, and laugh with some friends is sometimes all you need. I have been at Red Kite for a number of years, and honestly, I can only talk about the improvements that have been made since Will took over the club. The gym has been redecorated, there is new equipment, more sparring classes, and the coaches make an effort to incorporate other exercises such as the running club. Will, Dan and Dom are all good lads and they look after you. If you attend a class, you'll be met by friendly coaches, and even better students! We're all a friendly bunch. I've made some friends for life at this club. Just get involved!

Fantastic experience: As a beginner to kickboxing, I would highly recommend Redkite. Each session is action packed & I am always learning something new. Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved my PT sessions here. Had one or two a week for over a year and they had huge impact on my confidence. Definitely would recommend, me and my girlfriend also start doing joint sessions which were really helpful for both of us and our PT tailored our sessions to our different levels but we got to do them together which made a big impact for my other half especially since she was so nervous about going to the gym and starting to get fit. Dan is amazing as a PT and I would recommend the gym for anyone who wants to get into Thai Boxing!!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic atmosphere, great support and very inclusive! I have been a part of the gym for almost 3 years now and I would confidently say I am part of the Redkite family! We are a big bunch of misfits but everyone is accepted here! Being in a constant battle with my depression, Red Kite and the whole team of coaches Dom, Will and Dan are always there to push me when I need pushing and support me in times of struggle! I never would have thought I'd have the confidence to step into the ring in front of big crowds of people and do what I do! I am always recommending this gym to others and couldn't be more proud to represent Red Kite!

Fantastic experience: As someone who has been doing Muay Thai for 19 years and trained at a few gyms, a woman of colour… ..This has to be one of the best Muay Thai gyms in the UK I’m always a little apprehensive walking in the first time as a female and being asain, eventhough I’m a fighter - but I was welcomed with the most respect and intelligent people I have met. They are not your average Joe coaches they are intellectual, humble, very respectful with integrity and the social side is also a bonus! They’re coaches that are always bringing something new, clearly plan their sessions with research and carefully consider each individuals needs. I felt most of the people in there were friendly. I met a few like minded professionals aswell, doctors etc people from all backgrounds, totally inclusive - to a point people wanted to learn my language too. I had seen RedKite around for years and had heard so many positive things, always referring people there, when I trained there myself since coaches changed I believe the sessions were better organised. Will, Dan & Dom - thank you Miss this place! Fab team!

Fantastic experience: I started with the Redkite family in march 2021. I was in bad position in life particularly with COVID restrictions still in place. I decided to get in contact with the gym and talked to Will about starting PT. At the time, Redkite was the only gym offering PTs outside due to the restrictions. At the time, I could only attend PT early morning (5.30 to be exact) and Will catered to my request to do that. A brisk, cold March morning, slightly regretting my choice here, I met Will face to face and done my first PT session. Well, I haven't look back ever since. The Redkite team have helped to pushed out of my comfort zone and supported me to thrive in these situations. It doesn't just stop at the gym as the members and coaches have truly became my family. Over the years, one of the message from coaches that always stuck with me is 'what matters is you turn up' so just turn up, give it a go and like me, it might change your life.

Fantastic experience: Been coming for a while. Great place to train, with great training friends! Really motivated gym with great trainers never leave a session feeling down or uninspires!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at Redkite for a number of years and the coaches have been amazing! I’ve supplemented my training by doing 1-1 PTs with Dan, and my Thai boxing as a result of those sessions have dramatically improved! Would definitely recommend anyone to give the mixed sessions and the PTs a go!

Negative experience: Been attending classes here since I moved to Preston a few years ago, and used to go most nights to various classes. However the standard seems to be going down regarding cleanliness and attitudes since a change in ownership. Recently I was horrified to see tasteless homophobic "banter" written on the board by coaches, which I raised immediately. Whilst it was removed, my concerns have been completely ignored, highlighting to me the fact that the coaches clearly do not care about creating a safe environment for marginalised groups to train in. Unfortunately, members of the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities may want to think twice about training at Red Kite. I certainly am since the change in ownership, sadly.

Fantastic experience: I have trained at this gym for a few years and find it a great place to train. I Met some of my best and closest friends here and always schedule a training session whenever I am back in town. The gym has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Always fun to smash some pads!

Fantastic experience: Having trained for a few months once a week I began to appear regularly at other sessions. The main instructor, despite never seeing me in person, knew my name the first time she met me when I turned up to a weekday class. Instructors Mark, Jamie, Alice and Matt also all have a lot to offer for all levels and are easy to follow no-matter skill level. The classes are well run whether it is a class in the studio of 4 or 5 students to 20+ students in the main dojo. Many newcomers I have spoken to have enjoyed the training and have returned afterwards as I did myself. I hope to continue training at Redkite for years to come and better my Muay Thai ability to a level I can be proud of and represent the club. Keep up the good work

Negative experience: I would first like to say that the facilities were top notch, the instruction clear and the prices reasonable. I would normally review a place like this much higher. So you might ask why I give this place only two stars? Well, it's for professionalism. When I came to try out here, I was met by a female coach, who seemed kind and friendly, but as the class went on, there seemed to be an issue of mistaken identity. She told me someone with autism called up, asking if they can come along with a friend to try out that week. I had not spoken to them via phone, but by email, and I came alone. Thing is from there, she proceeded to call me autistic in the class environment, in front of other students who did not know me. When I explained to her that this was not the case, and that I wasn't autistic, she continued to address me as such on multiple occasions. Now, I may just be being picky, but I wouldn't expect such a degree of tactlessness on a subject. Taking me aside to talk about it if I was having any difficulties or if she suspected I was autistic is one thing, but rudely calling me that in front of a classroom could be potentially quite embarrassing, and actually put me off coming back. For whatever reason the instructor had to do that, I feel it was unacceptable. Just my personal feelings on the matter
