Negative experience: This story was just thirty minutes ago. 5th Dem, I just paid. I tried to enter the pin code several times, but it didn't work. The staff who waited for more than 20 minutes didn't help at all. I don’t regret my money. I don’t care and I won’t be there again.

Negative experience: I waited outside 20 min just to get in to see if i can go in and have a look and register, i even asked one person to find some that can help me? they said there is only one person and his busyyyyyyyy,

Positive experience: No push sled however there is enough space for it. If this gym had push sled it would be the best gym.

Positive experience: I couldn’t get in to the gym for some reason and I looked around to get help from the staff but couldn’t get one and the buzzer was ringing and there was nobody to pick it. I’m all good payment and timing but couldn’t get in. I need help.

Negative experience: This is the second time I’ve tried to set up an account online just for the code to not work. So quick to take my money but clearly incapable of actually running a gym. Why is it that im struggling to enter and there’s absolutely no staff to assist me??? What a joke. You should be embarrassed to call yourself a gym

Negative experience: does no one work at the gym? I’m stood outside because my gym membership code isn’t working calling the thing and no body is answering! Beyond a joke what a waste.

Fantastic experience: I am not new to Gym Group, but I am new to this gym. I Love this place, probably one of the best gyms I have ever been to. Spacious, well-lit, well equipped, well maintained and clean. AC is great, the air is always cool. I can't believe I can get this for such a good price.

Positive experience: Great gym and usually clean and tidy. Fairly small compared to the other gyms located in Leeds but still has a decent amount of equipment.

Positive experience: The teachers are brilliant, really push you and know their stuff! People are friendly and great equipment. Only dropped a star as i think floor where the classes are done could be cleaner and there is often no soap in the ladies

Negative experience: Thought I would go to the gym today, went there and turns out it is closed. Checked online says open 24/7 and says they are currently open.

Fantastic experience: It's an okay gym, it's missing a lateral raise machine though! And the PT's are nice, especially the girl with the beard

Negative experience: Soooo annoying. Every time I come here On a guest pass on my partners account I receive a code that does not function at the doors. Only today - there were NO staff to open the doors for me and the phone lines are shut. I feel like telling my partner and his two friends to move to total fitness with me instead cos this shocking

Fantastic experience: We joined The Gym Group Leeds York Road in February 2023 and have been going to the gym 2-3 times a week since then. This is the first time that we have joined a gym and our experience has been very positive. The gym has a nice community feel and atmosphere. It is very clean inside and well equipped. Being partly inside an historic building, the gym has character and interest, which is part of the reason we chose to join. Twice a year, the gym is closed for a couple of days and redecorated throughout. We have not found that we have had any issues getting on equipment. The equipment seems to be well maintained. Some of the equipment has recently been replaced. When we signed up Adam carried out our induction and we were so impressed with Adam that we chose to use his services as a PT (ALCIDES). Adam is a credit to The Gym Group. He is very friendly, patient, helpful and supportive, and has a huge amount of knowledge. His approach put us both at ease and with his help we have both become really confident using all the equipment in the gym and the gym itself. Everyone who works at the gym that we have encountered is very friendly and helpful. They always seem to be on hand if you need anything and are often to be seen going round cleaning and seeing that everything is all in order. Overall this is a great gym to train in and it is nice to be a part of this gym community.

Fantastic experience: Adam is an asset to the team. Would absolutely recommend him as a PT. The gym is on the whole well maintained, clean and a good environment to train. One comment I would make to change is the music which is too loud in my opinion.

Negative experience: It's gone down hill over the years, the lockers get broken into regularly, the equipment goes missing and sometimes never gets replaced, don't have resistance bands as part of your routine they'll disappear, one of the dual matrix cable stacks has missing numbers so its easy to have the wrong amount of plates on one side which is dangerous, can't do boxing pads which made my friend cancel his membership, end of the day its a gym this shouldn't be a problem, although we're both lifelong boxers/martial artists, but if you pay one of the PTs for padwork (who btw is shockingly bad at it can tell hes only done a weekend course for the qualification) then it's fine, the quality of the gym is just sub par, it needs an overhaul.

Positive experience: Edit of previous review now it's been a while I've been going here As a gym its nice, the building is pretty and the machines are usable. Nice that they still have a spray station so you can wipe stuff down, and the staff are friendly Downsides: the trek to it from the city centre, if you're going before or after work, is a good 20 to 25 mins from the train station at a reasonable pace, and York Road can get really busy with traffic The locker room isn't that safe either, being so out of the way makes it a target for thieves as is shown by the knacked latches of the lockers as well as tampered with padlocks. On top of that, a couple of times i've walked in on guys using gear in the bathroom and can only hope they're taking their needles home with them I do like it, but the downsides (mostly the people aspect) aren't really stuff I want to be dealing with when I'm just trying to lift

Fantastic experience: Despite only using this gym twice, my overall experience has been positive. The equipment is well-maintained, and I appreciate that even during rush hour, the gym is never too crowded.

Fantastic experience: The classes are fantastic, Adam Craig and Amie Easton’s classes are great and they are really motivational, sometimes the classes are cancelled at short notice which is a shame when you look forward to going, Adam and Amie work really hard and are a credit to the gym.

Positive experience: Sound gym, nice open environment, clean male changing room, not that big but there you go. Don't know the staff but they seem sound when they're walking around, busy during the usual times but most people seem sound when you say high or whatever, probably quieter than the one in the city centre but I've never really had a issue with them.

Positive experience: Good gym and affordable. I hop between this one and the one in Headrow. The staff are generally ok, one was really helpful a few months back and offered me a barbell pad while I was using a mat. The gym looks quite small on the outside but has quite a lot of space inside and lots of mirrors! Good and fairly spacious weight room it does lack a hack squat machine though, which the core has. And had two lifting platforms. Big changing rooms. The only negative really is that this gym gets particularly BUSY during peak times, at the headrow even during peak times its busy but still has room to breathe. At York road when it is packed its not worth being there at all. I think for the capacity is a wee bit too high. But honestly out side of peak 17:00-19:00 the gym is pretty solid.

Fantastic experience: The gym is awesome! It's always clean, and the staff is super helpful. There's a good amount of equipment, but it can get a little crowded sometimes.

Fantastic experience: Nice and well kept gym along with welcoming friendly staff. However the gym is oversubscribed and can be very busy even if you are not in at peak times. (5-8pm) But a very good gym for a budget gym and has all the equipment needed for a good workout.

Negative experience: Never again this company. Lost my job so wanted to downgrade my plan. So I rang up and the person was extremely rude. Hang up multiple times then finally got through says I need to pay a fee of £5. Nayou must be joking. So then said I want to cancel he hung up again. No respect at all to paying customers. Going to another gym. Great gym . By gym then I was told I had access till the 10th. Guess what lies. Paid for this month as well. Then your wanting more money to change. Disgusting company for staff

Positive experience: Just wish it had a combat area, something as simple as a punch bag as there is loads of space for one. But other than that, the equipment is great, staff are friendly and there is always a nice atmosphere in there for those who are new to the gym.

Fantastic experience: My first session today and I wasn't expecting a great deal in honesty. Coming from a different chain gym, I know how tired these places can be - equipment not looked after, stale sweat in every crevice, personal trainers spending more time flirting than anything else. The two gents running the place this morning were on the ball; deep cleaning equipment, separating rowdy groups, even discussing options in regards to empty or unused areas. Entirely the opposite experience I imagined!
