Fantastic experience: Came in tonight. I saw Michelle from housekeeping enjoyed a chat with her she is a real asset to david Lloyd's very down to earth and sincere love the staff here but especially Michelle

Negative experience: A run-down, overpriced dump. I can’t understand why there are so many glowing reviews on here, but they’re not be believed. Spa, pool and changing facilities are very poor given the price, and often the hot tub, steam room and/or baby pool are out of action.

Fantastic experience: Facilities are always well kept and clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. Gym is always well equipped, and outdoor tennis is a great fun way to spend a nice afternoon!

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been a big fan of the gym but it’s great here. Staff are fantastic- great range of classes and the teachers are legends. Awesome personal trainers too. I’ve been going for over a year now and wouldn’t be without it.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities suiting all needs. Even myself for powerlifting, it’s great having Eleiko bars. Great opening hours as well which gives so much flexibility on weekends. Spa facilities are welcome on recovery days.

Fantastic experience: David Lloyd Belfast is my happy place. Great facilities - a huge, modern, well equipped gym; excellent indoor and outdoor pools; great classes. But what makes it is people. People like Jonny and Julie-Anne on the front desk; instructors like Jemma and Amanda; gym staff like Ryan and clubroom staff like Kaysey and Mandy. I’ve left so many brilliant staff out! And the members make it too easy- someone always says hello in a class. The book club is great craic once a month as well.

Positive experience: Facilities top, good range of all gym tools, lots of tennis courts indoor and outdoor, squash , badminton, the only bad part is the service, bar and restaurant are badly managed, long waiting queue for each small transactions, food waiting so long…. Is really a pity. I am adding, long time Now jacuzzi broken, lift broken, food quality getting poorer and poorer…. As premium club this shouldn’t happen. Management need to be boosted.

The more recent high standard of cleanliness, along with the improvements in decor make the club a lovely place to spend time. Team members are approachable and professional, which for us makes a huge difference as we spend a lot of time here with our young family.

Fantastic experience: Our kids have had private lessons at DL Belfast for 3 years. They have always had fab instructors and have always had fun! (and they can now swim!)

Fantastic experience: Paul Taylor is an excellent tennis coach. He is passionate, engaging, patient and an excellent motivator. His technical knowledge of the game is incredible and he adapts his teaching style to suit how the player learns. Paul gives a lot of positive encouragement, and knows when to push you to work harder to help you improve. Paul is very approachable and friendly. He will always make a point to smile and say hello when walking past him in the club. He is also very empathetic and really cares about how you’re improving, what tournaments you’re playing and how he can help you be the best version of yourself on the court. Personally, I’ve went from someone who used to hit the back curtain with every shot 2 years ago, to a player who is more confident, capable and loves everything about the sport. That’s all down to Paul. I would highly recommend Paul to everyone at David Lloyd, no matter what age or level. Please could I ask that this review is fed back to Paul and the wider Tennis coaching team at DL. He is an incredible asset to their team.

Negative experience: Went for the two week trial a while back and was disappointed overall. When you sign up you are allocated a time slot to go for a welcome tour and induction. Then, when I showed up they didn’t seem to be expecting anyone and were somewhat surprised when I asked for a tour. There was no one available to give a tour so I was told to have a look around myself. Not a great first impression. The gym is good, modern and well equipped. However, the changing rooms and tennis courts all look a bit shabby and are in need of updating. You need to buy and bring your own padlock which is surprising in a gym which costs over £100 a month. I went to Bannatynes and they have the same facilities just without tennis courts and it works out at around half the price. In the two week membership you’re not allowed to use the tennis courts but I’ve been told by a couple of members they’re extremely hard to book. So, if that’s the reason you’re joining just beware that actually getting to play on them! In summary, apart from the gym which is good, Could do with modernising the changing facilities etc given how expensive it is.

Fantastic experience: Visited David Lloyd today and was shown around by Sophie who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She answered all the questions we had, was very friendly and approachable and engaging with our children. We enjoyed our first session there and all the staff were welcoming.

Negative experience: Everything feels a bit shabby and it’s incredibly hard to get an indoor court at peak times, especially when tournaments are on. There’s a dome on a couple of the outdoor courts during winter but it leaks so much you may as well be outside. Spa facilities are pretty rubbish compared to the local council facilities, which is shocking considering how much membership costs. Closes earlier than it should. The staff are nice, at least?

Fantastic experience: Reception staff are always welcoming despite at times having very busy periods dealing with member issues. Mary, Julie-Ann are especially helpful and professional at all times. The outdoor pool is my special place all year round. Whilst I acknowledge children and families should have access to the pool in the summer, please be mindful of adults only and not to restrict our access. All in all, a great club!

Fantastic experience: Amazing place if you want to take your fitness to the next level. Premium facilities that are unmatched in Northern Ireland. Loads for the family including outdoor pools, classes and sports (to keep them off them bloody iPads) as well as a great clubhouse for food and drinks! You could literally spend all day here. The staff are always welcoming from the attentive receptionist Lynne, Julie-Ann and Jonny. To all the class instructors that go out their way to accommodate all levels of fitness. It you want a premium clean spacious health club. Look no further!!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for almost 3 years now the outdoor pool is really nice and only gym with outdoor pool in Belfast. Friendly staff/helpful and high quality shower products and creams. Would like it to stay open to 11 on weeknights due to my work schedule / being a more elite gym.

Negative experience: Meh. They need more benches in the gym. Having to wait in turn to get one. Which I don't expect to do at £100 a month . Thanks. They also need twice as many dumbbells. They literally have one of each! And missing some crucial ones like a 28. People don't put the DBs back in order which wastes massive time during a workout. Staff should sort this out. It's easy to address. This is not a serious gym

Negative experience: I'm so disappointed in the club. 20+ years a member and now leaving. Management really doesn't know how to value members. It's probably too expensive for what is offered. Certainly, they don't respond to complaints from me. I'm about to find out how other clubs treat their members.
