Positive experience: It's okay. Big and spacious. I don't like the lighting it feels like perpetual night time. Plenty of machines and equipment. It's not my vibe for a gym. I went at 1700 till 1830 and it was very busy. Still has everything you should need. 3/5 good

Positive experience: Decent enough gym for the price! However, can get extremely busy from around 5pm - 8pm, so much so that I started going at 6.30am before work. Wish something could be done about groups of 3+ people hogging one machine at a time, makes it impossible for anyone else to get on! I've left the gym early on multiple occasions due to long waits to use one machine.

Positive experience: A lot of variety in equipment and machines. However, constant issues of broken machines/equipment and management very slow to rectify (months to fix!). Also extremely busy at peak times so would avoid going anywhere between 5-8pm. Fingerprint sensors are temperatmental. Lack of lights in car park and constant issues of flooding when it rains due lack of drainage.

Negative experience: The two stars are for the equipement, the management though deserves 0.000. Since I first discovered this gym over a year ago, I was shocked at the state of the women’s toilets, extremely old, cheap plastic, damaged and constantly flooded. See the pictures. Staff is obviously well aware and so is the management.. have you no shame?! For sure you don’t have any standard or ethic to treat your customers so badly.. Notice also the absolute lack of response on the Google reviews, clearly showing they don’t care even when others have mention very real issues like the lack of lighting at night in the parking which impacts everyone’s safety. -0 for the disgusting managers who can’t think to fix their toilets for months!..

Positive experience: One of the best commercial gym ever. Very huge space and surroundings, good facilities but would better if they bring more equipments but yet still better than other commercial gym.

Positive experience: Very good facility but only problem for this gym, if there’s a problem with payment, you cannot rectify it quickly as they have no CONTACT Phone Number to call!

Negative experience: Pretty shoddy gym, you'll find poo and snot up the wall in the toilets, the showers stink of wee. electric sockets hanging off the wall. Busted gym equipment that's down for months on end, machine setup so close to each other some will end up having their skull crushed. floor so thick with dust you can move it around and Slime covered slippery pathways. Best thing about it I cut my leg pretty deep on their sauna, I was then banned by Marc the owner (who looking across other reviews, is history known to be quite aggressive towards paying customers) for complaining about my leg being cut open. The lack of funding and general maintenance is horrendous how the HSE haven't shut this place down is beyond me

Positive experience: It's a good place to work out. Lots of free parking spaces, friendly staff. The changing rooms are spacious and clean. Lots of weight lifting equipment. The cardio machines area is spacious enough. It's a pity that they didn't include any of those commercial stepper machines with the 2 pedals and handrail spacing for those of us who prefer a full lower body workout and a good sweat.

Fantastic experience: Pump is amazing, always clean and tidy. Had my introduction with Mercedes today and she is so lovely she has gone into amazing detail, Mercedes has gone above and beyond and has even planned a weeks worth of work outs for me. It has certainly made me feel excited to go to the gym as I now have a structure and know what to do.

Fantastic experience: I often reminisce about this gym after relocating. Easily the best £20 monthly investment, and I'd gladly pay more for its amenities. They constantly updated equipment and fostered an environment conducive to reaching fitness milestones. Old warehouses make such a unique gym setting. I hope for a branch in East London soon!

Negative experience: Pump gym does not meet the basic security requirements that could protect their customers: they don’t put the lights on in the parking lot once it’s dark. For example today at 7pm. It’s not safe for people and for preventing accidents: someone accidentally hit my car today while leaving the parking lot. The man said he couldn’t see anything because it was dark. Yes he should have put on his lights on and be responsible and careful himself and still the gym should also look after his clients to prevent accidents, following possible conflict and possible attacks. What about helping women avoid all the weirdos? Especially since it’s a 24hour gym, what else needs to happen for someone to turn on the lights at the required time?! Shameful

Fantastic experience: Good parking facility and multiple equipment for workout.

Negative experience: Packed almost all day, hope you like waiting around. Online portal is good for literally nothing except booking classes. Membership can only be cancelled via email, this is also with a minimum 5 day notice period that they will not tell you about. There is no room forgiveness if you do not abide by the 5 day warning. Cables and machines break regularly which is to be expected, however they can be left out of use for weeks at a time in my experience. The 2 stars are for the physiotherapy clinic that operates inside and for the quality of equipment available. Ignoring all the flaws the training experience cannot be understated.

Negative experience: This gym has such potential but it's awfully managed and set up. There are loads of machines, but they break so often and take a long time to fix. Need for better quality machines and more of them with the space that's there. The staff might as well not be there. They allow people to abuse the machines by throwing equipment around and ignore people moving the machines to their pleasure breaking THEM. They don't do anything about people leaving weights on machines, in fact I actually watched one of the PTs with a large group of people let them leave the weights all over the floor and on the machines and left with them. They let people sit around and chat on machines for half hour to an hour, what's the point. They need to add more machines and make the price higher and put a cap on the number of people allowed to subscribe as the numbers are ridiculous. I'm not usually one to complain but I've been a member since the gym opened and I hate to say it but there's so many rude members now, it amazes me how people will smash machines just to appease their ego, leave huge weights on equipment just to assume other members will remove the weights, take up machines and proceed to engage in an hour long conversation with another member before they even attempt another set it all gets a bit boring and tiresome tbh. It'd a GYM not a social club.... If people want to act like this then the pt's need to take some accountability and pride in their work place and start calling these people out.... temporary bans, warnings and active monitoring to stop these people needs to happen. If people want to behave like there's no consequence for being so arrogant then they need to accept theyll be finding another gym. I rarely see people putting weights they've used away now... WHY? Who do you think they are? How can you be that lazy? All this behaviour ruins the gym which would otherwise be a brilliant so please fix it other wise all the decent members will leave to find Gyms that are actually organised and managed well.

Fantastic experience: Really good vibes. So much equipment and machines to choose from. It’s an amazing gym for the price! The only thing that could be improved or getting more plates for the rack. Sometimes it’s hard to find 5kgs and 2.5kgs when it’s busy.

Negative experience: Shower water in men’s area is absolutely boiling. Please fix it ASAP. It has been like that for a quiet while, not sure even if anyone checking these showers at all!

Positive experience: Pros: There is no gym in Colchester with better facilities. They have ample machines and multiples. They can't be beaten, especially at this price point. Cons: - Too many people with cameras & tripods making blogs, etc. You find yourself trying to avoid them a lot. - I don't know about the women, but in the men's toilets, hardly anyone washes their hands after using the toilets. It's literally shocking. - The fingerprint entry system is unreliable, and if you have to press the bell, it is for certain no one will come.

Fantastic experience: I visited pump gym yesterday on a day pass to switch up my training a bit. Safe to say I am extremely impressed. I’m originally from Suffolk but find myself wanting to make the journey to Colchester just for this gym! Amazing range of equipment which I had never even seen before. The atmosphere here is amazing with a range of different members with different abilities which makes it super welcoming and now scary at all. 1000% recommend this gym and I will definitely be coming down more often!!

Negative experience: Toilets are disgusting and there’s hardly ever any toilet paper

Fantastic experience: Can't believe this gym is only 20 quid, all weights and machines are in impeccable condition, it's big and airy, so no steamy mirrors, music pumping and the range, don't get me started about the range, if you like to train a certain muscle group per session like I do, you can spend an entire session on said muscle group without using the same machine twice. Admittedly you feel like you're walking into the International Space Station when you enter (you'll understand what I mean if you ever pay a visit). Lastly 24 hours for those with demanding schedules. Pump Gyms is where it's at.

Negative experience: Machines require more regular maintenance and to many people on their phones not working out hogging machines.....

Positive experience: Yes it is overly busy at times but so are all gyms. The equipment range you get here is excellent and it is clean and I like how it is lit. One downside would be the shower pressure is pretty awful, to the point where I just shower at home now. The sensor buttons are also super annoying you don’t get long enough.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for the bright, friendly and satisfying workout this is the place. There is a wide choice of top quality equipments to use that is regularly cleaned. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Good gym. Wheelchair accessible, cleaning facilities and sufficient staff and parking. Hot showers and Sauna in working order. Function room is available for use by individuals who prefer to workout in less crowded areas/more privacy. WiFi is very temperamental, but all in all, good gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym is incredible spacious with a lot of equipment. The personal trainers and fitness instructors are the friendliest people and will always make you feel welcomed and deal with any concerns you have.

Fantastic experience: Not a bad gym kept nice and clean plus lots of equipment so never struggle to get on anything plus if the equipment breaks they are usually fixed quite quickly. Staff have always been friendly and give advice to when needed. Personally I don’t use the sauna but its a handy extra for some people , would prefer a steam room but can’t have it all for the monthly price.

Negative experience: Showers broke yet again in changing rooms, must be saving money time again, obviously can't fix in a day like most gyms with plumbers on call, they take your gym membership but dont give you hot showers as promised which is bad customer care, seems to be full of sad people actually filming them selfs while working out like anyone cares or wants to see, but im older so what do i know. Good gym, well equipped, but always discusting in men's changing rooms late in day as only cleaned in morning, sauna area is rank and your lucky if the staff turn sauna on in the morning as they seem to be thick or bit slow to remember to turn it on as they seem to have a lot of sitting down staring in to space in mornings, have asked few times can they turn it on so you would think in time it would sink in to turn it on , most public places have a check list to make sure facilities are kept clean but seems this place has nothing in place, but have to admit this will win first place for most filthiest unhygienic toilet and men's changing rooms in Britain, actually puddles of piss in sauna tonight but obviously sick of complaining as waste of time, seems CV equipment is just being left now when brakes down too. But 20 quid a month is good price, just a bit scummy thats all, don't turn lights on in car park, huge holes in car park, and they have there own pond now

Positive experience: Well equipped, modern 24/7 gym. Do not try to get a quick workout done here weekdays after work you'll be waiting forever, overcrowding is a major issue, you may even have trouble parking at peak times, you used to be able to combat this with their live capacity checker but it's no longer in use.

Fantastic experience: The gym consists of all the required machine's, the atmosphere is really good and healthy.... The best of the gym is this that it's open 24x7 so you can do your workout anytime and it's absolutely safe .....

Negative experience: Told the PTs and staff about these issues but unfortunately have had to resolve to posting on their Instagram but they deleted my comments and feedback. Cables are poorly maintained, can’t move the pulley up and down the rail without it getting stuck, boring to deal with and can be dodgy to use with heavy weight. Lat pulldown has been broken for months. Leg press also. Sauna turned down mid day for no reason and no controls to adjust. Showers go to zero pressure when there’s one or two other people in other showers. My 1 star is for the good music. That’s it. Thanks.

Positive experience: Quiet and refreshing gym, no mad loud mad music. Yes your every day house tracks but nothing to heavy. Well spaced and comfortable.

Positive experience: Pretty good, love that it's 24 hours, it feels like 50% of the cardio equipment is either completely broken or has something wrong so it rattles or squeaks. A couple of the machines have been out of commission for a fairly long time. Update: a recent bout of replacements means that now the majority of the equipment is working and in good condition.
