Harbour Clubs Notting Hill

Negative experience: Due to refurbishment; the facilities are severely lacking – key areas were closed off and lacking many equipments. While I get that renovations can be exciting and promised improvements, it shouldn't come at the cost of the member experience! To top it off, they still charge full price without any discounted rate while the gym is under construction. What’s even more shocking is that they have the audacity to charge for towels! And then there’s the manager, Priti. Instead of offering solutions to address our concerns, she gets offended very quickly and shuts down any dialogue. Definitely not the right manager for a gym that should be focused on member satisfaction! It's frustrating when you’re paying a premium for a service that’s just not there. I expected more from them, and I hope they take this feedback seriously. For now, I definitely cannot recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: Most welcoming and friendly staff out of any other club I’ve been to, especially the manager, Priti, who always greets me by name. Despite currently undergoing a renovation, the temporary gym is fully-equipped, and the brand new changing rooms/showers are great. The speed and accommodation of the team here is incredible.

Negative experience: Most facilities are unavailable for a few months (classes, soon a temporary gym on a tennis court, pool etc). Was not told about this at the time of signing up for a year. They do offer membership pausing but that isn’t really compensation since the customer is still fulfilling their contractual terms. I have also been charged this months membership fee and went to the gym to find that my membership had been paused (without being told) so I don’t have access to the club despite paying £200 (bargain). Staff are lovely, but the gym should be avoided for quite a few months - the support emails are not responsive (presumably because so many people want their money back).

Fantastic experience: My recent visits have all been positive. With the lovely new GM, the team are polite and friendly and i’m looking forward to seeing the changes from the current refurbishment in the new year. Keep up the good work and thank you

Negative experience: Had a poor experience to why I didn’t join the gym in the end. Went there on a Friday lunch because I’ve booked an appointment as the lady said “to respect them as appointments fill up” which is fair. However, after going to the gym expecting a tour, waited 10-15 minutes for the sales lady to come and tell me they were not taking new members as there was a renovation that they knew about on Thursday in changing the gym. This could have been transparently told to me early on but I brushed it off as the lady said she will book me an appointment on October as she wants “the best deals for me” and will put me on top of the waiting list. She said to email me the details about the next appointment. Never received details about the next appointment at all. Then, in sometime in October, received a call on a random weekday night asking if I was going for the gym tour the next day. Confused, I said “I wasn’t emailed or anything that there would be a tour” and the person on the phone rudely replied with “are you coming or not then?” So I replied with no thank you and she hung up immediately like she was meeting a quota (which I guess she was trying to do) Rudest experience so far for a premium gym.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined this David Lloyd and I have been very impressed so far. The gym itself has all the equipment I need for my training programme which covers all parts of the body. It has also been clean and kept in order each time I have visited. It has also not been too busy and I have never had to wait to use any equipment. I am also impressed by the customer service. All of the staff I have interacted with so far have been friendly but professional and very helpful. An example is when I had a problem with my electronic membership card. I switched to this gym from another one and so far, it has been the right decision.

Negative experience: At £219 per month, this gym is a poor choice. Due to renovations, there are no changing rooms, no pool, and fewer tennis courts which unless you’re a tennis member, bookings are hard to find anyway. The front desk staff is rude when asked about these issues. Having to change in toilets with such small space next to urinals is humiliating at this price. They claim it will be worth it after renovations next year, but that’s irrelevant if you’re not staying in the country for that long.

Negative experience: I have been a member for years and I am cancelling my membership now. The Club has gone from being nice to being absolutely awful - management is unprofessional, the Club is managed very poorly and the service you receive is below average. First of all, the ceiling is leaking in the gym (and has been leaking) for months; many machines don't work (music not working, Bodytrax machine broken for months); Jacuzzi is almost permanently broken; children's swimming classes are often cancelled due to the absence of a lifeguard (why not to train several team members to be a lifeguard is beyond me). Also the Club just announced the major refurbishment, which means that the swimming pool will be closed, no classes for several months, tennis facilities substantially reduced and gym facilities reduced drastically for months. The members received the notice 3 (!!!!) days before the works. However, the Club withdrew the termly fees a couple of days before the announcement. Communication and management is non-existent. I would avoid this Club at all costs. The only good thing there are Creche personnel (very professional, brilliant) and the teachers themselves, unfortunately they don't have any power over completely incompetent management and overall poor Club experience. Avoid!

Negative experience: Money grabbers - be careful before you sign up. We signed up for a 3 month membership after making it very clear that the courts and the pool were our priorities for the membership - only a few days after signing up (for more than £1k) we were informed of major refurbishments which would put the pool entirely out of action and reduce the courts from 3 to 2 permanently. No mention of this at all while we were enquiring and viewing the club and the sales team and general manager have been completely absent since. An initial conversation with the sales manager after being informed of the refurb mentioned that they were only made aware of the works 2 days before they were due to commence and that in any event the club would was in desperate need of it because “there are leaks everywhere” - again no mention of that during the viewings. At this price point would recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: We have been members of the club for a number of years, and have been very happy with the service and facilities. Priti has been great in ensuring our family was always well accommodated and taken care of.

Negative experience: Ok facilities, terrible management. Possibly one of the lifestyle businesses with the worst management I’ve seen in London. The gym and the pool are big enough for good workout. But the condition is not as nice as the name ‘club’ might suggest. The gym is pretty dark and the pool is not the most hygienic. I’ve seen little worms on the floor of the shower by the pool. Yikes! I joined in June 2023 and had to transfer my membership to Chelsea a year later. I exchanged emails with the membership team and they just stopped replying to me at some point (). I emailed again and again, even sending new enquiries from the club’s app but they seemed to have disappeared into the wind. No reply, no acknowledgment for a month (wtf is this). Eventually I called the club, stated the problem and the person promised to investigate and nothing happened again (it’s a bit funny at this point). I had to call back and demand them to transfer the membership while I was on the phone. Just ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Harbour Club it’s such an amazing place. I’ve been using the facilities for over 10 years. Me and my family we feel like at home!! Specially with the warm welcome and beautiful smile from Ferda, Antonita, Priti and Sam. They always make my day. Thank you so much Harbour Club. Jorge

Fantastic experience: I've been a member here on and off for the past 20 years or so. Although it is not as flashy and beautiful at it was once, the staff are what make a big difference. Starting from the great sales manager Pritti who's very much involved in everything to the wonderful team at the reception, the amazing Sardar who's another highlight, the incredible tennis coaches especially Mounir and Habtamoo, this is the only club I would consider every time I return to London. I do hope they do refurbish the gym soon as it is starting to look quite dated.

Negative experience: The gym hasn’t been updated in years and still lacks a few pretty vital pieces of equipment that other David Lloyd branches have including pec decks, incline presses, crunch machines and to a lesser extent a lateral raise machine. I’m an influencer and have been asking for these for years but still no progress. They claim there’s no space for them even though the upstairs area has plenty, sits pretty empty and is currently seldom used so frankly that just seems like a convenient excuse made attempting to mask the neglect. There’s also a shortage of plates. Ikr imagine that. Getting more has also been proposed many times over the years but similarly there’s been no progress. Their openings hours have also kept getting shorter year on year and are now much shorter than every other David Lloyd branch’s which is very inconvenient. All in all it’s just been a very disappointing experience

Fantastic experience: We joined Harbour Club recently with our toddler. We love the pool, soft play, yoga classes and restaurant/lounge. Facility is well maintained and staff are very helpful. Priti the customer manager is extremely responsive, and goes above and beyond. Highly recommend for young families

Fantastic experience: I joined Harbour Club just over two weeks ago. Tennis courts and Gym are well kept. Priti the relationship manager has been most helpful and made my introduction to the club seamless, highly recommend speaking with Priti if anyone is interested to learn more.

Negative experience: If you want to spend £240+ on membership at a gym, I would recommend picking Third Space or Equinox. The gym feels very dated, and doesn't feel like a luxury environment for the prices you're paying. Most of the gym equipment is quite old, the weights look like they're from the 80s, there is only 1 benchpress, 1 powerlifting station, and a small squat rack. You can get water from the restaurant / bar area, but if you want to fill your water bottle while in the actual gym, the water fountain is old and full of mildew and there is no water filling station. The swimming pool area is more of the same. The area around the hot tub is full of mildew and grime, the steam room usually has a weird odour to it as well which they try and cover up with a bit of eucalyptus but its still obviously there. The shower areas are also very dated and quite gross, and you can feel a layer of grime on your feet when you step into the showers, obviously bring slides. The only thing that looks like it's from this decade are the tennis courts, but of course that means you're not looking at almost £500ppm to have access to both facilities. Overall, the place looks like a old leisure center as opposed to a luxury gym space, and isn't very inviting. There is literally a leisure center about 20 minutes walk away from this place, that is brand new and has the same things including a sauna, steam room, hot tub, cold plunge, gym, pool, and is in much better shape for a third of the cost. Definitely not worth the price.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoys doing exercises in the club, especially with group classes. I have learned a lot from Stella's legs bum and core class, which adds much strength to my core. Zumba, yoga and barre fitness are also good.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym, good facilities, the spa and swimming pool are perfect for a good swim, never overcrowded, very nice staff (Priti is a star) and the restaurant is also good. The only thing to improve would be to add the Financial Times to the newspapers they offer. Overall highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Most people know about the high-end gym and the fantastic tennis courts. But, I wanna give a special thanks the staff for running such a fantastic sports club. Priti, the membership manager of the club, has been positive and very pro in every interaction. Ahad and Habtamu, two of the tennis coaches, have been excellent in motivating us to have fun and become better tennis players.

Fantastic experience: The gym is never too crowded, allowing you to use the equipment you need. The spa facilities are amazing and very clean, sauna, steam room, and a heated pool with incredibly relaxing warm beds. I also appreciate the availability of body rollers and Theraguns, which are free to use and really enhance the overall experience. The kid area and Crèche are wonderful. Our kids love to use it. The staffs are warm and friendly. I had a training session with Stella. She was super helpful and friendly. And on top of that, Preti, the club manager is super nice. She often walks around and greets everyone. Harbour club is wonderful club with quality of facilities and staffs. Food and drink at the bar are excellent

Fantastic experience: We were looking for a club that was family friendly, not crowded and where we could feel at home every time we come. Everything is a breeze, from dropping your car for them to park to the plentiful facilities. Membership manager Priti has been commended in many reviews, and rightly so as she takes genuine care of everyone's wellbeing throughout the membership of the club. Positive experience: I’m a long term member of the harbour club and visit on a regular basis the receptionist are always friendly and inviting especially the new girl Ferda who always has a smile and is soo helpful always going out of her way, the staff and gym trainers are extremely helpful aswell. The staff and gym trainers are also great especially Priti.

Fantastic experience: I recently did a comparative analysis of 3 clubs in the area and this one came out on top for quality, cost and friendliness! The facilities are modern and spotless, app is easy to sign up for tennis, classes, etc and the staff are super lovely (s/o to Priti who made the sign up process clear and easy!)

Fantastic experience: Recently joined after a lovely discussion with Priti whose informative and attentive round-the-clock service (seriously!! I called at 7pm and 8am and she answered both calls against all my expectations) helped me make the right decision and join the club. So far Priti's excellent calibre of care has been a reflection of all the staff here. The facilities are clean and you can certainly feel that the club is more a community than just gym members. I mainly swim and can attest to the cleanliness of the pool and low levels of chloride (which is unfortunately not true of surrounding pools).
