Negative experience: I dont mind at all paying for fantastic services and experiences. But my time at David Lloyds was far from that. To be honest in the summer the pool area is fantastic you can spend all day there happily. However from an ex PT’s point of view. The equipment is minimal and old. So many MUCH cheaper gyms in the area that provide outstanding equipment that change with the times of more females lifting weights ( specialised glute machines for example) . The changing rooms could also do with a bit of an upgrade to and the extra you pay for a towel thats not even a large bath sheet , its a small towel. They also bleed there own PT’s dry of money ( i rang and asked how much it was to be a PT at there facility ) . I also had to not only pay a large amount ( for a gym ) to join but an extra month before i could leave . “ Exclusive “ maybe but worth the money … absolutely not .

Fantastic experience: Signed up as new member along with my partner. Club was clean, loads of facilities and all staff were very friendly. Liam in the sales team deserves special mention, he had all the information we asked for and he sold the correct way by showing the features and benifits of the clubs.

Fantastic experience: I had such a great time during my tester session with Giles last week! I really enjoyed his coaching style and the whole experience in the hall was both fun and engaging. He explained the rules clearly and shared some helpful techniques, plus we even squeezed in a quick game! I can’t wait to go back and play more padel in the coming weeks. Thanks so much Giles.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the padel taster session run by Giles. Covered a few basics, well explained and plenty of opportunity to have go. A little bit concerned for the future of proper tennis with two courts now lost, firstly to pickleball, and now padel and tennis court booking getting increasingly hard.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic tour by Liam, professional and not pushy at all in terms of signing a contract. Highly recommended based on location and facilities.

Positive experience: Nice gym. Pity that almost 50% off the car park lights do not work... and have not been repaired in a year... after been told that there was a project to replace them...... also uneven and broken paving creating trip hazards, especially in the dark areas. Very disappointing.

I was at another DL with little or no investment/interest in alternative racket sports. I would rather give my money to DL Gloucester to help pay for their investment . No brainer really

Negative experience: 8.7.24: I am still waiting for my refund after 3 weeks. 15.06.24: COVID-19 Negligence and Lack of cleanliness. My husband and I we signed up recently. We have been to the gym most of the time to start our fitness and well-being journey. My husband has some health conditions. Most of his trips out of the house have been to the gym. He has tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday 14 June 2024 and I have tested negative. I've left a message for the Duty Manager to call back (called on 15 June 2024 at 13:59), still waiting for her/his/their call. I called back on 15 June 2024 at 15:00 and no sign of the Duty Manager. Reception said that she gave a nudge to the Duty Manager to call back. The Duty Manager called back at 15:20 (call lasted for 4min). I explained to her about the situation; lack of empathy to not even say "I apologise for what happened to you and your family ". For her she treated us with minimum concern that our well-being and health has been impacted. Simply do not care attitude. She said she would take the feedback to the GM for which I asked can I know if this is going to be implemented as part of Duty of care towards the society. She could not provide a professional answer. She explained how to proceed with the cancellation procedures. I do not recommend this club. I've noticed that many people do not clean before and after use of equipment. Please shower before and after using the pool or steam rooms. Please maintain basic hygiene. Please be aware that there are vulnerable people using the facilities.

Negative experience: Received a complementary pass email only to be turned down at the reception. Now had to drive back as didn't have a barrier code. Exactly why we left DL in the first place - rubbish customer service, total rip off given the quality of the facilities - Gloucester club looks like it was last refurbished in the 1990s. Certainly not coming back

Negative experience: Steer clear from this club!!!! Absolutely not worth the money. The joining process is the only good service they provide. After that everthing goes downhill. The facilities are oversubscribed and below par in quality. Even the parking in the premises is a nightmare. The group classes are the only good thing, if you manage to get a place. If you plan to leave the membership be prepared to be traumatised. I want to give a null or negative rating but google is not equiped with it.

Fantastic experience: Member since 2019. Staff are always top notch, I’m in it for the steam, outdoor pool and some of the yoga classes are exceptional: Lulu John, Andrew Haigh, Linnie Jones and Lucy Hagger. Peter the massage therapist is excellent and food is generally delicious too
