Fantastic experience: Il centro e' molto orgaanizzato e lo staff e' gentile. In particolare Karen e' stata gentilissima a spiegare come funziona la piscina e il sistema di prenotazione. Ci ha perfino aiutati ad installare la loro "App" sul nostro cellulare. Grazie mille Karen.

Fantastic experience: A great place to go workout! The changing rooms and pool are exceptionally clean and you can use the equipment. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Totally worth it if you’re a keen sportsperson.

Negative experience: The recreation centre has sadly never recovered from lockdown for its members. They’ve kept the Covid booking system - you have to pre-book an appointment, despite it being largely empty. If you can’t make your ‘appointment’ they attempt to charge you - and this is for members! (Good luck with that BTW). Then there’s the limited access, which, unbelievably, isn’t published on their booking site. Both the pool and gym are regularly closed by 80% at peak member times (e.g. Saturday afternoons) meaning you can’t do a light cardio with weights workout - i.e. the overwhelmingly most popular type of workout because Kings students are using it. I’m not going to walk 300m to a separate hut for some barbel curls. Ditto for the pool, laned off for lessons and monetised but closed to members on Sunday afternoons - my daughter couldn’t swim. I’m pretty sure they’re breaking the law as to not publishing theses terms, conditions and lack of an availability on their same ridiculous booking site whilst charging nearly £50 a month. On the plus side the staff are all lovely but it feels like members are an inconvenient cash cow to fund a centre for the school.

Negative experience: The behaviour of Karen, the Duty Manager each time I have attended the Kings schools Recreation centre has been rude, disrespectful, and Ill-mannered. Each time they have made my family and myself feel very uncomfortable and upset. Not all the rules for the centre are mentioned on the website or given as a written document when you join as a member, therefore the management “make up the rules” as they please. Especially rules regarding the swimming pool and usage of mobile phones. To say I am very disappointed and disheartened is an understatement. I expected more! This was so bad I cancelled my membership within the first week.

Fantastic experience: I'm a regular at King's Recreation Centre to assist with the excellent Canterbury King's basketball programme. The club provide top class coaching for young children and teenagers and have teams competing in Basketball England's National League. Teams for girls and boys, so get along and join in the fun, be part of an exciting sport.

Positive experience: Despite quite honestly being essentially Glastonbury festival for middle class parents in Canterbury when it comes to getting your child a swimming place Kings deserves its good reputation. The staff are caring, they smile, it's clean and sleek without being showy. It feels well looked after and the staff extend that feeling to you. My kids love their lessons there.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loving Kings school - I'm a new member and making good use of the excellent facilities- Membership included 3 x Personal training sessions which was a really good additional bonus- All the staff/instructors are really friendly and approachable. Easy to use website with a great choice of classes.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great staff. The children also love playing in the Basketball club here too! Clean and tidy. Unlike most gym centres this centre has sophisticated clientele and appealing facilities.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for 3 years now but have just been looking at the reviews for the first time and feel obliged to make a comment! I can't praise this venue highly enough! The staff apart from being very friendly and approachable are more than capable of helping you with your personal fitness plans and as for the centre itself I don't feel lost and feel like I could be in my own home

Positive experience: This has excellent facilities: squash courts including glass backed ones, 2 outdoor tennis courts, a large sports hall with badminton courts. Yesterday, a racketlon tournament was held there, so they put some table tennis tables in the hall. The only problem is the lighting in the sports hall is too dark. If they switched to led white lighting, it would resolve this problem and save a lot of money!

Positive experience: Love the gym itself, all facilities are great. My only issue with the place is simply the price. I would happily pay it each month if I wasn’t told consecutively day after day that “the pool is closed” and the explanations are starting to do less to appease my frustration. If you want to offer a gym membership, it should be explained very clearly just how shared the facilities really are. For someone that works a lot it can be beyond frustrating to finally get the time to come in, only to just have to go. Not great value for money, but sadly. Still the best around by far in terms of great facilities.

Positive experience: Expensive! Expensive! But if you are serious about practicing sports instead of playing around this is probably the place for you.

Fantastic experience: An amazing facility owned by a school and open for public use during certain hours. What a great way to maximize the opportunities for everyone. It has a swimming pool and indoor sports hall, as well as a spacious gym with the key equip for fitness. (I may have forgotten a few other rooms for fitness and wellness.) Kent community must really appreciate it

Fantastic experience: The changing rooms are cleaned regularly and are always in good condition the pool area is warm and the water is a good temperature never had a bad experience here and the lifeguards are top notch and keep everyone safe. They offer classes such as water polo for very affordable prices bearing in mind the quality of the facilities overall very good.

Positive experience: Car park gets busy very quickly, occasionally the swimming pool is a bit cold

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend this place highly enough from a swimming lesson perspective. My son (now 7) has been coming here for a few years now and over this time has grown in confidence so much. He has had a variety of instructors over that time and all of them have been encouraging and professional. Shout out to Rob who is amazing! The rest of the staff are equally lovely with reception staff helping and the car parking attendant being polite and friendly. Changing rooms are kept in very good condition. There are a few individual cubicles but mostly its shared changing space. There are clean toilets and showers available too. Outside reception there are a couple of vending machines as well. Upstairs is a cafe but i've never used it so can't comment!

Fantastic experience: We have 11 years of experience with children having swimming lessons, clubs and galas so are very familiar with the different coaching styles available to children. We have recently moved our 4 year old son to Kings from another swimming school and I have been extremely impressed so far. We have David as our coach and his coaching style and demeanour is excellent. Our son remains engaged and has improved dramatically since joining. I will recommend to any parent if you do not want to waste countless weeks elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Always very positive with the experience and knowledge of the staff and very professional instructors. I have been helped all the way in my goals to achieve and maintain a good fitness level. Even recovering from major surgery at all times I have had complete confidence in the advice and instruction given.

Fantastic experience: Have been using this gym for the last 4 years and love it. The staff are all friendly, helpful and encouraging. I've learned so much here and been able to make real changes to my health and fitness. Can't recommend it highly enough. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym facilities and fantastic staff. Very friendly, encouraging and always helpful. Membership prices expensive but worthwhile if you use centre regularly. PayAsUGym helpful if gym occasionally used. Good choice of classes available although it would be nice to have more choice of classes during morning/ early afternoon. Some evening class times clash and may be these could be distributed through the week. But overall it's excellent with great atmosphere and just absolutely brilliant staff... so thank you everyone!

Negative experience: If you're thinking about using this centre as a pay as you gym member, simply don't waste your time! I was made to feel like a nuisance and lead to believe all facilities were available to me when in actual fact they are not. (Even though I specifically asked for the sauna and steam when registering). This morning I was left humiliated when I was publicly removed from the sauna. As if this wasn't bad enough I felt venerable and exposed as I am a young lady alone in just my swimming costume being confronted by a man. Yes the facilities are clean and the showers are good but the staff let it down. Re your reply below; I suggest you check your emails, I emailed you before leaving this review. It's amusing how a public comment gets a faster response! Please save your apologies, the damage is done. I have dealt with the polite staff at pay as you gym who resolved this matter. Save to say you will not be seeing me again. Finally, I work with the public and will no be recommending your centre.
