Positive experience: My 1st visit and although my sat nav took me via China I eventually got there. I only utilised the pool area but it was clean and the water was a good temperature. Plenty of parking and easily accessible.

Positive experience: A long time since I visited, having moved out of the area, and good to see it has been renovated since I last saw it - it looks modern and neat. The changing rooms need a bit of TLC (broken doors,locks not working, bits of floor missing) but the pool areas are great and well lit. The swimming prices though are extortionate. We were charged £34 for 3 adults, a 3yr old and an 8 month old for a fun swim. Charging £8 for an adult, and £6.90 is robbery. For perspective our local leisure centre in Surrey charges £4.50 for an adult and kids go free! As good as the place is it really isn't worth that much for swimming - can understand if it was the Metrodome but not Hoyland.

Negative experience: I regret to say that my experience at the swimming pool was incredibly disappointing. Despite the advertised family-friendly atmosphere, my interaction with one of the workers was marked by rudeness and a refusal to allow my eldest daughter to use the small pool during what was supposed to be a family swim. To make matters worse, there was a disproportionate focus on my family, singling us out for rules enforcement. When I declined to purchase band-aids from the facility, the worker's disrespectful response only heightened the negative atmosphere. The impact on my children's mental health was distressing; they were excited to visit, but the worker's behavior led to tears and a deeply unpleasant experience. It's disheartening when a place that should provide recreation and enjoyment ends up causing harm to the well-being of customers. Regrettably, these issues have led me to the decision to cancel my membership. I hope this feedback serves as a reminder to uphold the principles of genuine customer service and a family-friendly environment, as advertised.

Negative experience: Total Rip off ,Considering this Gym belongs to council ,and we pay a fortune in council tax ,this is the most expensive Gym for miles , £25 Joining fee ,and £35 a month tied to a 12 month contract. ,when JD opens at Birdwell this place will be done.

Fantastic experience: Our daughter has been having swimming lessons for a while now. Instructors are good, but recently she's been instructed by Andrea. Andrea is absolutely brilliant. No nonsense, friendly but firm, and it's great to see how the kids respond to her. Progress made under Andrea's instruction has been phenomenal.

Fantastic experience: Hoyland is just "THE" gym _ nowhere else even compares by comparison _ impeccably clean _ world class kit all set out thoughtfully for the best workout experience and hands down the greatest team of fitness instructors and reception staff _ if there were 100 stars I'd tap and fill everyone _ no hesitation: 5 stars!!!

Positive experience: Really nice place with a cafe. Everyone seemed really nice and the place was very clean and tidy. No idea what the facilities are like as I was only there for a physiotherapy appointment. It would have got 5 stars but the parking is very small so if you have an appointment I would get there much earlier so you can get a parking space.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the gym, great equipment (especially the bikes, treadmills and crunch machine, my workout wouldn’t be complete with that machine), friendly staff and perfect location. I’ve received so much help and support from one of the trainers, Gary, who is one of the nicest people I have met in my life. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very good first impressions of the swimming pool and my daughters first experience taking part in swimming lessons. The teacher was patient and responsive to making her feel comfortable and make progress in just half an hour.

Positive experience: Can’t book a slot for swimming so first up best dressed otherwise no swim. It’s a disappointment if you’ve travelled a long way to get there.

Fantastic experience: I love this place I haven't been swimming for over ten years because I'd put some weight on and wasn't confident enough to go swimming... so I do both the gym and swim now and other day when I got in the water it felt amazing... such a great swimming pool with very attentive lifeguards.

It's not the equipment which is modern and user friendly, it's not the fact that the staff are welcoming and friendly or the swimming pool. iIt's more that the users and staff are part of a community. There's no body shaming or embaressment. It doesn't matter about your size, age or capability. You are accepted for who you are and there is no pressure to do anything more than just enjoy the facilities the commarardery and the ambiance of a well run friendly and supportive exercise outlet. It's a leisure centre for everybody. It's very reasonably priced ( as a member) . Come and join in. Feel better, make new friends and enjoy. Ashley Robinson

Fantastic experience: Great gym experience perfect aerobics classes for me from Pilates to HIIT. Friendly helpful staff also has a large pool area. Its somewhere i use weekly and really love it

Fantastic experience: Need to start losing weight and getting fit as I'm in my 40s and getting less fat is much more difficult. Joined a couple of weeks ago with an induction from the legend that is Gary, who set me a plan. The equipment and facilities are super modern and clean, it's never too busy first thing in the morning, the staff are helpful and friendly, and I can pick my kids up without needing a nap already. Bit more expensive than the Pure Gym in town but the proximity to home means fuel and time saved make it worthwhile. Plus if I go more than 15 times a month it's less than £2 a session which is a bargain.

Fantastic experience: My grandson and I really enjoyed our visit to the swimming pool. The cafe is really good serving hot and cold food and drinks. There are seats both in and out doors. The changing room and showers are clean and well equipped. You need a £1 coin for the locker. There is a large and a small pool the water is quite warm. We went for the fun swim in the school holidays so It was busy and full of children having a good time but the life guards were brilliant and kept the fun safe. We will be back.

Positive experience: I've only been once, but first impressions were really good. It had a modern feel about the place, and have a raft of different sports and activities you can participate in. They have 2 swimming pools and they seemed extremely popular (judging by the queue waiting for it to open). One thing that would make the experience better, is having the ability to book courts (for squash, badminton etc.) online.

Positive experience: Parking is getting ridiculous with you often having to park offsite. I'm not sure if it's just down to more people hitting the gyms in Jan/ Feb. Staff great but they need to find a better parking solution for swimming classes. Still the same daily issues
