Fantastic experience: As always excellent service

Negative experience: Went this morning with myself and my wife went for a Sauna and steam rooms the showers outside were filthy , grimy, yellow the handles we’re filthy the floor was disgusting, the glass doors of sauna and steam disgusting I never seen anything so bad . I was told they cleaned that morning I was there at 11am its looks like they haven’t cleaned it for a week. Also the men’s shower really bad. A very bad experience

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Never too busy.

Negative experience: Spent the later of two years at Riverside and finally had to call it quits. If you are looking for a somewhere specifically to lift weights and see progress, this is not the ideal place. - Rusty gym equipment, with coats of grease that will not only stain your hands but your gym wear - Worn out cable machines that break easily or barely work when hitting heavier reps - Limited regular shaped plates. Majority of plates are oval shaped weights making Deadlifts, RDL’s and Hip Thrusts unstable and near risky - Monthly cost is absurd and no options for gym membership at this current time Staff however are always welcoming, warm and inviting and you can’t say a bad word about them. If it wasn’t for them it would be a one star review.

Positive experience: Been there x2 . Getting to no my watt around . Nice professional friendly staff . Nice price . No hidden clause either .sauna . Pool good equipment . No probs so far .

Negative experience: Community gym; friendly and affordable. However they are not maintaining the gym area especially if you want to do heavy lifting there is not enough options and the current machines are very old and rusty.

Positive experience: Good gym with a lot of facilities. Not very busy in the evenings(so worth the £42/month fee) unlike other cheaper gyms which get super crowded. They could do with an update to their weight room (some of their bars are a bit rusty). Would definitely recommend if you like to work out in a quiet peaceful gym.

Negative experience: The men's section smells like toilet,told a member it smells bad and had nothing done about it,also plays songs wch says jesus is on cocaine what kind of sick freak controls the music here

Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre, super staff - huge thanks to Helen and Sam for facilitating my rehab for a spine injury and Ben and Lauren for their kind help along the way! Great gym, pool, sauna and steam room as well as the friendly people of little stoke!

Fantastic experience: Decent prices for gym/swim/sauna

Fantastic experience: I previously left a great review for this gym. I had worked with a fantastic personal trainer names Daizy. Since that time I have discovered that due to illness Daizy was blamed for the terrible behaviour of other employees, they have a number of dangerous working practices around handling of chemicals (e.g. Chlorine), and other trainers are significantly below competent. It's sad to see a gym being run quite so badly, but I am happy to have learned Daizy has done the right thing and walked away from these amateurs. This place has potential, but knowing what I have learned I would not feel safe using this gym in future.

Positive experience: For the money ,the place is excellent,all facilities are good,, great gyms and all classes are included in the monthly fee ,, however the swimming pool is always quite busy at or after 4 ,and the jacuzzi is tepid , the staff are friendly enough , all in all clean and comfortable

Negative experience: overall, gym and spa facillties very good,however, as a disabled person, to have only 2 reserved spaces for disabled parking, is ridiculas! members, especially early morning, seem to totally ignore parking restrictions and use reserved disabled spaces. this need looking at by management, as it is frustrating and not good enough. please action!!

Positive experience: I have been a member of this local gym which is based in little stoke area of south gloucestershire Bristol. I started going to this gym in 2017 and have been a regular member since. I live within the local area, and it is local for me and easy to get to. I have enjoyed my time training at this gym and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I have made some few friends within the gym, and people seems decent. There is a swimming area, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There is also a Physio centre attached to the gym, and there are regular gym classes and yoga classes. Some of the equipments could be better but you get that everywhere. I hope they upgrade some of the equipments soon.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this Gym.The staff are so welcoming.The swimming pool and sauna are relaxing .Had the lovely Daisy do my induction today showing me how to use the weight machine in the ladies gym .She was amazing & put me at ease.She was professional friendly & humorous! This place is a little Gem of a place and its excellent value for money. I love how unpretentious it feels in comparison to other gyms I've experienced in the past. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Good equipment, friendly staff.

Positive experience: I used the day pass over summer when I was half price to use the pool and see if I'd like a membership. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are all good, especially from the price but unfortunately the place is very popular with big rowdy annoying groups of young lads in the evenings, dive bombing into the pool repeatedly. When it was quiet though, it was a dream. Friendly reception staff, good sized changing room. Plenty of showers though they're quite creaky and old.

Negative experience: Not recommended , they don’t let you to use your phone. Old equipment, they don’t work properly.

Negative experience: I was the gym member for 6 years, after covid I have got my online personal trainer. But they didn’t accept to have my online personal trainer and asked me to have their trainer. I was happy with mine. So they asked me to leave

Positive experience: The front of house team were super friendly and accommodating when we turned up for a site tour. There are still some building works putting the weights gym out of bounds.

Fantastic experience: I'd give Riverside 6 stars if I could! I've tried lots of gyms in Bristol and also used to be a mystery shopper who specialised in gyms and leisure centres. Air conditioning that actually works (on hot days it's like walking into a fridge, it's fantastic). The opposite of a sweat box, which is how most gyms seem to set their air con. Ladies only gym that keeps having more equipment added each time I visit. Large unisex gym. Dedicated weights room including plate loaded leg press and hack squat. Plenty of cable machines. Pool isn't too cold unlike some (I'm looking at you, Bannatynes!) and there's always a swimming Lane available (unlike Everyone Active centres who stop pool access when they're teaching swimming lessons). Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi. Showers have excellent pressure and adjustable temperature. If I'm being very picky sometimes the cleanliness of the changing rooms is a bit iffy, and the weights room is always messy (guys not putting their weights away).

Fantastic experience: Out of all the gyms I’ve tried this one undoubtedly is the best, the atmosphere is just truly inspirational the classes on offer are second to none. The staff are amazing and friendly and the support you get to help you to get fitter, improve your lifestyle and to help you feel good about life. This is definitely the place to train, Relax, and to get fit. They also have everything you could want in a gym, cafe, hairdresser, beauty salon and a Physio section. I would definitely recommend the Riverside gym Bristol to anyone looking for somewhere else.

Negative experience: If you're in the area and considering this particular gym think twice! That is unless you only want to use the pool and drink coffee. None of the machinery has been updated in years. Numerous rusty pieces of equipment from the leaky ceilings, very noticeable when it rains or the humidity is too high. Temperature inside the gym is also absolutely freezing. Look around the area and you will find other better facilities for a lower cost. Shame really because the potential is huge....

Positive experience: Just joined but it’s a decent gym for the price and you get the pool, sauna and steam room included too which is a pretty good deal. Moved from PureGym as I got fed up with how busy it was all the time and while the equipment isn’t as flashy it does the same job. Nice that you have a decent sized main gym and then a wholly separate weights room which is usually empty however some of the equipment needs either a refurb or replacing. The smaller dumbbells in the weights room are years old and don’t have many intervals between weights. Some of the attachments need replacing too however I have my own so it’s not much of an issue. Disappointing that there’s no Chest/Rear Delt fly machine or another weighted row, the one that’s there is fine but could do with a T Bar row as well. Staff are friendly however and haven’t had any problems. Overall 3/5, great value for money, never so busy that you can’t get on things but equipment really needs updating, especially the dumbbells in the weights room.

Fantastic experience: The employees of this gym are very nice, friendly, professional, very attentive to the needs of those around them, the gym is clean, orderly all the time, the machines and weights work, you can find everything you need inside the gym, jacuzzi, sauna, swimming pool, massage salon, cafe, beauty salon and many others. Instead, a large part of all this can be included in a monthly subscription at a price that anyone can afford.

Fantastic experience: Riverside is a really lovely gym, the facilities are great and include a good range of equipment, a lovely pool area which includes a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and spacious changing rooms and showers. The gym has a friendly feel and the staff are welcoming. The coffee from the machine is really lovely, I always look forward to a cup after my swim! I like the idea of having family swim sessions at certain times, as it makes for a calmer adult environment which is nice, yet families still get to swim during the allocated sessions if they choose. A great value gym for everything you get. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym with a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Also not tied in for a year with subscriptions. Membership prices are very reasonable.

Positive experience: im a member at this place but when comes to kids it’s a joke! my son swims at a high level so we go there to swim lengths as it’s close to home yet if it’s not ‘family time’ he isn’t aloud in to swim, when it’s family time you can’t swim due to kids constantly getting in the way or family’s playing! not fair really sometimes they charge him to swim sometimes they don’t… confused. would love to hear a reply.

Positive experience: Purchased the £50 for 3 months deal. So far worth it, attended lots of classes, gym and pool instructors are nice too . Wish there was a smoothie bar like the one in Cardiff as the centre looks a bit empty without a café except for the buttoned drinks machine and bits behind the reception. Update: it now has a cafe, however they had no allergy book and was told that all the cakes had tree nuts in them could not see any gluten free options. Staff were lovely though.

Fantastic experience: Such a great club. It has a lovely pool, sauna, jacuzzi and even a sizable steam room. The ladies gym is well equipped and cool enough for a good workout not to be uncomfortable. Decent selection of classes too. I've also always found the clientele friendly.

Positive experience: It’s a really good gym for great value. The off peace periods are quieter, which I love , and gives me access to all the machines I need. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cleanness is on point. Only 4 stars because there could be some upgrades made on certain machines.

Positive experience: Currently visiting this leisure centre for the gym, haven't used the swimming facilities or attended any of the classes they have. Gym wise, it's spacious and there is variety of equipment to use. Riverside has two gym areas; the main gym, which provides weight machines, running machines etc. And there is also a weights gym, that primary provide specific weights related equipment, squat racks, chest bench etc. Overall Riverside is a great leisure centre, the staff are always helpful and friendly and the place is always seems tidy.
