Fantastic experience: Nice big gym which is good as often is pretty busy but never feels crowded. Also no music blasting out which is good for me.

Positive experience: One of the best gyms I've been too, even better than some of the more expensive ones in the area. There's a great atmosphere here, backed by PureGym's promise of this being a safe & judgement free zone for all. Plenty of kit, so you only usually need to queue at the busiest of times (if you can, try weekday lunchtimes as it's really quiet). Some of the kit is starting to show age and can be out of order at times. Some of the lockers in the men's changing rooms are missing locks making them useless. But in the main, a great gym, with great staff and respect for everyone.

Positive experience: 24 hours gym advantage,however, finding parking space is real adventure.Good ,if they can provide steam bath ,sona etc like Mount batten centre ...which can attract more people. The better side is that monthly cost is cheaper.....

Fantastic experience: It's very clean, there is a lot of equipment that is well maintained and the atmosphere is very good. It's always very easy to go here and workout without having to worry about anyone spoiling it for you! The staff are very friendly and helpful always smiling!

Positive experience: Good gym, plenty of kit, all kept clean. Generally the users are ok, but there always seem to be a few that make it uncomfortable here and the staff seem to be a bit laid back about it. We tend to use Fareham PureGym instead because of this. The showers are pretty rubbish though, they're always cold and don't stay on for very long with a pause before you can restart it and they're never particularly clean.

Positive experience: It's pretty good, just wish they'd sort out the showers so they run warm. Been going about 2 weeks and the showers have never been anything above "just about bareable". Please sort out the showers!

Fantastic experience: Hi , I have just joined pure gym with the premium membership to allow me to use other gyms . I have visited 3 locations so far and found I had to use north harbour due to my local facility closing for a week I was really impressed by the staff continuously showing a presence , looking busy as well as talking with people In particular the assistant manager sign posted me with some equipment I was trying to set up . This observation to help people on the floor is something I find above and beyond So massive kudos from me This is lacking in my local facility . Not even a welcome smile sadly Thanks NH .

Positive experience: Been going here a while now and there are pluses and minuses. Just downgraded my membership as they got rid of the weighing machine that tracked your muscle, fat and BMI scores etc. This was a really good way of tracking your progress and having a friend come on your membership and the Yanga water just wasn’t worth paying extra for me. Positives Good selection of equipment Equipment in good working condition Improvements Cleanliness isn’t as good as it once was, in particular the mens changing rooms Not enough 5kg weight plates The clips for the bench, squat and deadlift seem to vanish. Not sure if people are taking these?? Considering approximately 90% of people seem to wear headphones why is the music so loud?? Especially the class that takes place in the gym doing the circuits. I come to listen to my own music not yours. Can get hot in the summer months.

Positive experience: I’ve only used this gym once whilst working in Portsmouth. It’s a large gym and was certainly not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There is a lack of natural light as there aren’t many (any?) windows. I was only doing squats, bench press & deadlift in the free weights area so I can’t comment on the other machines etc. The free weights area was ok with maybe 3 squat racks, benches and a deadlifts platform. The deadlift area did have a lack of plates, at only about 160kg but other smaller diameter plates could be used from elsewhere. As may be common in these un staffed gyms, the free weight plates were all over the place with many not returned. It was a bit time consuming hunting for the correct plates. Overall it was a bit expensive for a day pass (£6.99) but seemed very good value for a monthly pass at around £20.

Fantastic experience: Staff are helpful, give plenty of support from them as I am a wheelchair users. Amazing disability access with a lift.

Fantastic experience: Love pure gym, nice size building with plenty of machines and free weights with parking outside. The parking does get quite busy. Only gripe is the elliptical machines don't have air blowers like my home gum in Leeds. All the staff seem real nice, smile and say hello when they pass by.

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym North Harbour is truly Amazing! The Manager and the rest of the team are hard working and great at their job. I have been to many gyms in Portsmouth and this gym has the best team by far. I recently required support and guidance from the gym and they were quick and happy to help! The gym is kept clean and well maintained and the PTs really know their stuff! All of the team go above and beyond to support their members. Pure gym here has a great space. Plenty of machines for weights and cardio along with spacious workout areas and great equipment for classes. As a whole.. having a gym membership here has been a great experience. Well done and thank you to the Pure Gym Team! Highy recommend!

Fantastic experience: I joined the Saturday morning 10am class a couple of times now and I have to give the whole experience 100%. The people are so inclusive and encouraging and made me feel part of it from the outset, the equipment is clean and great quality. It's the first class I've done in a long time that properly killed me, which is what I love the most. I like to come out being greatful for the life I have left in me and that was achieved. Well done Pure Gym for supporting this, your PTs are amazing

Negative experience: Its crazy how a group of between 6 or 7 men are allowed to take up the whole Cross Fit area plus all the machines, issue is they weren't even using them all at the same time. I understand people make their own circuits, however, other paying customers must still be allowed to use equipment too. The gym is to busy now so people shouldn't be able to hog all the air bikes, rowers, skiing machines and jump boxes. Complete joke

Fantastic experience: I love it here.....everything is immaculate and its a really decent/friendly atmosphere to train in. The virtual studios are amazing if that's your thing. All the equipment is top of the range and one good thing about covid is that everything is so clean! I dont see any other gym competing with pure at the moment

Positive experience: The gym itself is good, all new equipment, spacious & clean. Currently the downside of this place is the disregard of the covid rules. 9 out of 10 not wearing masks when entering/exiting or moving around, there’s posters everywhere saying no training in pairs... how’s that meant to be enforced when even 1 of the staff is there training with his 5 or so CrossFit gang? Staff do nothing to stop people training in pairs or groups. Gyms are crying out to be kept open but it’s places like this that ignoring the rules hence why cases are rising... they’ll all be crying into their protein shakes when it’s closed again

Negative experience: I finally plucked up courage to join a gym. Went in and couldn't see the 'tucked away' changing rooms so I asked a member of staff, who looked at me as though I had no business asking her. She was very unhelpful ... so out I walked again. It took a lot to join a gym, surely getting a bit of help isn't too much to ask is it?

Fantastic experience: A little WD40 to lubricate the sliding seats, pads, and other machinery would be nice, especially the saddle bars on the bikes, the forearm rest on the lying leg curl. They are dry and corroded, lack of maintenance.

Positive experience: Can get pretty busy with need to queue up for machines which can be annoying but it is a popular gym because it is so good. Very spacious, good amount of machines. Could be improved with private changing cubicles in the changing rooms. Lots of parking nearby although the parking directly outside is usually full. Overall a good quality gym, would recommend.

Fantastic experience: It was our first time today and I admit we enjoyed going, but there's just one thing which needs sorting out and that is, there's nothing around to actually tell you how to start the exercise machines on, now being its our first time we seriously didn't know how to turn it on, and it was a good job people was around otherwise we would of been stuck, cos unfortunately there's no staffa around to actually ask, and I think they should have someone around at all times, apart from that it's a good gym.
