Negative experience: Never answer phone. Respond to Eastbourne. Different staff every 3 months says it all. Ohh highly over priced

Fantastic experience: Facilities are fantastic. All the staff are extremely friendly. The receptionist Abbie always greets you with a smile and helps whenever she can. I always leave feeling positive and uplifted.

Negative experience: New to the area, called into a competitors gym, most helpful, full tour, coffee and no pressure sales, went into DL next, car park is like an unmade road, asked at reception if we could be shown around as interested in joining, met by a disinterested member of staff, who said we needed to book an appointment, wrote his name and the number on a scrap bit of paper and told us to call and book…think might give it a miss thanks

Negative experience: Personally, I’d stay away, it doesn’t meet David Lloyd’s’ standards and is quite a bad club in general in regards to customer service response times. Absolutely no reason why replies should take over two weeks each time, no matter how busy. The inside of the club is nice, but if you lack customer service then nothing else really matters.

Fantastic experience: just wanted to mention some ladies! sarah laker, cara maker and laurie marsden are all so wonderful and i always really look forward to their classes

Fantastic experience: I'm a new member at the club and so far my experience has been nothing but a pleasure. The staff have been so friendly, helpful and approachable, and there's a lovely feel to the whole building. With all that is included in my membership, it's definitely worth the money, especially as I'm into the classes. The restaurant also has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and the food I've had so far was even better tha expected. Overall the club is a great place to spend time and offers so much to do. You could spend the whole day there and not get bored!

Fantastic experience: We had our initial show around with Aaron Rodgers who was very knowledgeable and professional and made us feel part of the club straight away. Our little girl can be quite shy but felt at ease straight away, asking Aaron questions and Aaron spent time answering them all for her, from then we knew we had found the right place. From then Aaron has always been on hand to support with any question we’ve had and helped us navigate different aspects of the club. Thanks for always being so welcoming Aaron and the rest of the David Lloyd team!

Negative experience: Review for David Lloyd Eastbourne I recently visited David Lloyd Eastbourne, only because I’m a member at Brighton and can use this location for free. Unfortunately, I was left thoroughly disappointed. Upon arrival, the front desk was manned by young staff who seemed more interested in scrutinising my account picture than offering any kind of friendly greeting – not exactly a warm welcome. The first impression is that the facility is extremely dated. The premises feel worn down, with outdated and neglected facilities. The wet areas were especially off-putting, with visible mould on nearly every surface. The hot tub was in terrible condition: dirty, with failed tile grouting and worn-away coatings, exposing bare concrete. It looked like a lot of water was being lost through soak away, which could explain why it was lukewarm rather than hot – an unpleasant experience all around. There’s absolutely nothing about David Lloyd Eastbourne that stands out. The quality is on par with, if not worse than, local council facilities. If this were my local club, I certainly wouldn’t be signing up, and I’m thankful Brighton is in better condition. I won’t be visiting Eastbourne again; the place is in desperate need of a serious overhaul to meet even basic standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

Fantastic experience: I use Eastbourne’s creche for my two kids aged 4 months and 2 years old. The two lovely lady’s that run it are amazing I feel at complete ease leaving my kids there they’re great. Highly recommend using them it’s great for the kids and also to have a hour or two to yourself!

Positive experience: Be warned! Joined as a premium member after being told all equipment is provided. Turn up for my padle court booking to be told you have to buy your own padle racket to play.. I then book Blaze to be turned away as I don’t have my own boxing gloves. Suggested giving more information at the membership sign up stage as well as at the blaze taster session.

Fantastic experience: Olga Oakenfold’s yoga classes are amazing! They are one of the main reasons I come to the club. So centring and such clear instructions. She always gives harder or easier variations of the positions, Which is so useful for people who can’t do it all or maybe want a deeper stretch. I love relaxing in the sauna after these lessons. I Will definitely be going to yoga again!

Positive experience: the gym really is overpriced for what it offers if you don’t do any racket sports, but Haydn is always really helpful and always advises on my gym program, especially if i’m working on a specific goal!

Fantastic experience: After recently becoming a new member at David Lloyd, I decided to have a few sessions with Emma to get me feeling comfortable in the gym. Emma really listened to me and understood what I wanted to achieve and helped me to push to my potential. It was a pleasure and I will definitely be booking again!

Negative experience: There’s too many good, glowing reviews from.. oh shock, new members. DL does not care and retain it’s current, long term members. Every single person is paying a different price, every single member receives different treatment. It is completely over subscribed, a Saturday morning down there in the cafe is like one big children’s soft play area. For £120 a month it’s an utter disgrace and it’s just not the luxury club it once was unfortunately.

Negative experience: The spin bikes and spin studios are not well maintained. DL should be ashamed that personal trainers have to put up with such poor support from management. Members should be more vocal about being let down by the management team at DL Eastbourne.

Negative experience: I’ve been a member now since July and have really been enjoying my time at David Lloyd. I’d give a 5 star review, however when I turned up to a Blaze class today, which was being taught by Bex, she abruptly told me ‘class has already started, can’t let you in, sorry’ and proceeded to slam the door in my face; I didn’t even have a chance to respond. I admittedly was 2 minutes late, however the class was still warming up, so stepping in wouldn’t have caused any disruption. This sort of rudeness is just not acceptable. When I approached her after the class to ask why she did this, her attitude towards to situation was handled just as badly as having the door slammed in my face! Completely unprofessional and a shame! This isn’t the first time people have complained apparently, so I hope this is looked into and sorted, as this experience has completely changed my outlook on the gym

Negative experience: The toilets are an absolute disgrace! It smells so bad in the toilets it makes your eyes water. There are improvements ongoing at the moment, so let's hope the toilets are on the plan for improving.

Fantastic experience: My son and I went to have a tour of the facilities at the Eastbourne club and met with Gus. Gus was super helpful at answering all my questions to make sure I was making the right choice for us to become members. We were impressed with the facilities and improvements that have been made. Despite being school holidays it wasn’t crazy busy and whilst some classes are booked up ahead there were still some that were available to us to enjoy membership straight away. Looking forwards to enjoying all of the programmes on offer in the future too.

Fantastic experience: I joined a few weeks ago with the help of Aaron Rogers and i can’t recommend this place enough. The facilities are always clean and in amazing condition, and there are always such welcoming staff ready to help you whenever you need. Aaron was so accommodating and put me on the best plan for myself, helping me reach my fitness goals and looking out for my family aswell when they wanted to sign up. Aaron and the rest of the team really make the experience so much more enjoyable, and the whole club is such a nice atmosphere to be in. it’s now my second home and i enjoy every minute of being here! i would 100% recommend :))
