Negative experience: It's a shame since the gym itself has lots of good equipment. 2* because of the terrible "interior design" changes being made by the new owner who's slowly turning a great powerlifting gym into a cheap coffee shop. It wouldn't be so bad if the changes were even somewhat professionally done or even remotely tasteful, but they aren't. Cheap plastic plants, awful blue branding, a mirror with neon lights that looks like something you'd find in a cocktail bar, and tacky garden panelling from Home Bargains all over the walls (and not even enough to cover it properly). Hate when someone takes over a great business and just has to let their ego "make their mark" on the place and ruin it. A real shame.

Negative experience: Really unprofessional. Got to the gym at the opening time along with about 10 people. No one was there to open the gym. Then things got worse so decided to leave. My boyfriend and I cancelled our memberships and we had emails promising to stop payment. We were then charged. Their phone line goes straight to voicemail and their emails mean nothing. Disgraceful sham of a business. Had to go through my bank to stop payment. Not cool.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership in March. I was incorrectly charged for April and May. I managed to get a refund for April through a dispute with my bank. However, for the May overcharge, I contacted the gym directly. Bailey from the gym told me in two separate emails that I would be refunded in 3-5 business days. I have emailed them twice since then and have received no reply. It has been 3 months and I have neither received the refund nor any response. This is extremely disappointing and disrespectful. I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Positive experience: Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, and provided me a lot of information about the schedule etc. The gym has a lot of equipment and didn't look too crowded when I visited. They also offer a free week to try it out. I tried some classes but didn't exactly think they were the right fit for me. There was a lot of exercises with multiple reps, but without focusing on the technique or safety of doing them. The classes also provided no warm-up so you have to remember to show up early and warm-up on your own if you don't want to end up injured. I was also disappointed that most classes were available only on the most expensive membership, the choice on the mid-level membership was extremely limited. I guess it's a good choice if you know what you're doing and are happy to just exercise on your own, I'm not sure about the group exercise element.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership two months ago and despite paying the extra month, they are still taking payments out of my account and now ignoring my emails

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Amazing facilities. I joined the gym with no knowledge of fitness or training, and in a short period of time, I have gained confidence. I've been taught a good knowledge base and feel I am in a comfortable space to continue learning and developing my fitness and training skill set.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely top notch equipment that caters for people serious about training as opposed to idle chatting, posing and prancing around in a posh changing room. Possibly the best gym I have ever used in my 30 plus years of training. Has totally reinspired me.

Negative experience: Used to be good. Let down by management and maintenance issues.

Negative experience: Absolute disgrace of a gym. Sadly the facilities are excellent but it's run poorly. The gym has refused to cancel my membership after being to repeatedly and at the end of the 12 months which I supposedly "signed on" for but wasn't allowed to see the contract my membership got automatically renewed and increased in price without my permission. Since then PB have robbed over £500 from me and now I'm seeking legal action against them. Avoid at all costs

Negative experience: Although the gym has superb facilities and friendly front of house staff. I have been extremely disappointed with the management’s handling of me terminating my membership and not refunding my membership fee which they have conceded should have been. I would recommend PB but not the management staff.

Fantastic experience: There aren't many gyms which can deliver the true essence of gym culture. Many talk a good talk, but very few actually deliver. PB Performance Gym delivers in bucket loads. There is a great balance of regular gym goer needs and also an equally stocked spectrum of comp spec powerlifting equipment. Whichever your preference, you can rest assured the equipment is top of the line and well maintained. Personally, I travelled 2 hours from Somerset / Wiltshire, England, and I can honestly say that I look forward to visiting again.

Negative experience: A recent visit ruined by a Managing staff Alex. Who was all too keen to enter my personal space in an aggressive manner regarding a matter that could have been resolved professionally. I don't expect myself, my teammates or members of this gym to be swore at by staff or spoken to in a tone that encourages aggression. After deciding to spend my own time educating him on service within the fitness industry he proceeded to double down and swear at a teammate. But what can you expect from Alex. A man who has a history of pestering women and ignoring safeguarding protocols. A real shame to see such a great facility is marred by poor management staff.

Negative experience: Went their with several members of my weightlifting club only to be rudely spoken to by the gym manager. Attempted to speak to the manager after our session only to be spoken to rudely once again. Several of the women we trained with feel uncomfortable around the gym manager, and it's saddening to hear about the lack of action by management in correcting this. Amazing facility, but let down by the gym managers poor attitude.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly and good value if you go on the performance package. They keep membership numbers low to ensure a comfortable experience. Recommended.

I dont live close to this gym but they are doing a 6 week weight training class I just started tonight and I may have trouble not wanting to leave! Edit: been to this gym a few times now and everyone is just lovely! Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I can only say great things about this gym. The staff are amazing, friendly and supportive and are always on hand to help. The quality of the equipment is outstanding and the gym floor is kept in excellent condition. The vibe is friendly, down to earth and a breeding ground for progression in anyones fitness journey and goals. The staff always take an interest in my training progression and I feel that this gym is a vibrant safe place to train.

Fantastic experience: Joined the pre-season training class at PB, did an 8 week block and already signed up to do the next. Worth the money - great facilities, a really good community vibe and the staff are awesome!

Fantastic experience: Really well equipped, helpful and friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Lots of crossfit-esque functional fitness areas, as well as the usual strength and cardio machines, and endless barbell variants and racks/platforms in which to use them. They offer single day passes through Hussle, as well as their own membership options.

Negative experience: PBperformance Gym are nothing but a rip off! My boy signed up with them 3 months ago, but his card wouldn't work to pay joining fee, so the man asked my son if he had another card to use and if he stays at the gym any future payments will go from my sons account! So I let him use my card for initial payment! My son used the gym for 2 weeks before he went on holiday and never went back! Last month a payment went out of MY account and my son rang and cancelled his account and they said they would issue a refund! Still no refund and this month ANOTHER payment goes out of my account! My son rings them and explains he cancelled last month, they said they would give a refund and now more money has gone out of the account and it's not his account and the man tells him it's tough, he signed a contract, and he will be paying it for another 9 months (my son didn't sign anything! The man that done his induction told him the initial payment was for a 2 week taster and a training plan and he could decide if he was gonna stay after that, which he didn't! ) So I took the phone off my son and explained to the man that it was my account they were taking money from and I haven't authorised payments to be taken out of my account and he said to me, Tough, and it's your sons account I'm not speaking to you! So instead of having good customer service and recognising that they have made a mistake they were rude and they think that their getting another 9 monthly payments jokers I've reported them to the fraud team with my bank who are launching a full investigation and are getting my money back that way! DONT EVER USE THIS GYM, THEIR ONLY NICE TO YOU WHEN THEIR TAKING YA MONEY, IF YOU TRY TO LEAVE THEY ROB YOU! I WILL BE LEAVING THIS SAME REVIEW EVERYWHERE I GET A CHANCE TOO! DISGUSTING BUSINESS THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT ITS CLIENTS AT ALL!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic classes, especially spin. The staff are knowledgeable, lovely, and have created a friendly atmosphere in the gym. The equipment is great too!

Fantastic experience: By far and away the best Gym I've been to. Seriously top notch equipment, competition benches, calibrated plates, multiple bars and custom machines. Also everything is layed out in an excellent way so you can always get a good workout in no matter how busy it gets there. Really cleverly done. Great atmosphere there and probably the only gym in Cardiff that plays good music! Genuinely look forward to training here every day. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Clean and tidy. Never over crowded and everyone is nice here. Have my PT sessions here and finding the fact that it's not crowded much more enjoyable.
