Fantastic experience: Kids club is absolutely superb. Kids love going, which means my wife and I can enjoy the facilties, in the knowledge that they are happy and safe!

Fantastic experience: Great breakfast cooked by Neil this morning, perfect after a long swim on a cold day. Also excellent service from Liz and Katie who are always greeting you with a smile

Negative experience: Car park gets swamped on Game days for the chiefs across the road. Members who want to use the gym then can’t park anywhere. Told management and all they said was “you can use public transport if there are no spaces” What an absolute joke. Disgusting attitude and atrocious service. It’s a David Lloyd members car park not an exeter chiefs car park and management don’t give a shit.

Fantastic experience: The Halloween party was really well organised and the boys were so excited when they saw the bouncy castles. A great club for families.

Fantastic experience: Kids club is brill, staff are lovely, great classes, top equipment. Only gripe is getting a tennis court in the winter!

Fantastic experience: From initial enquiry to signing up, the process has been faultless. It was much appreciated having the opportunity to have a no obligation tour (with a free drink too) although having seen the club it was a no brainer to sign up! Geoff really took the time to go through everything and we were never once pressured to make a decision quickly. Special thanks to Geoff for the tour and answering our endless questions, and to Kirby for the assistance also!

Fantastic experience: Good morning DL.....I just want to say after early morning spinning or gym or PT sessions......the thing that gets me through it after an hours hard work is the thought of a David Lloyd breakfast and large black coffee !!!!!...... especially if the breakfast is cooked by Garry..... perfect every time .....well done Garry, keep up the great work....which is wot keeps coming back time after time.....

Their Tennis Star programme, which engages children in fun and skill-building activities, is particularly impressive. Coaches like Rik Foster and Sam Turner bring enthusiasm, expertise, and a passion for teaching, helping players to grow in confidence and skill. Additionally, Katie Wiseman has been instrumental in my personal training, helping me build confidence in developing fitness and strength. The club’s warm, inclusive atmosphere makes it a great place for personal growth and community bonding.

However when Kirby showed us around, she had a really good knowledge of the club and its facilities. She was able to answer all of our questions in detail. Really friendly and approachable too, thank you so much for a great experience! As a result, we are now members!

Fantastic experience: Jason Brown Recommended ! I joined the gym about three months ago, and while the facilities are awesome, I wasn’t really feeling motivated at first. That all changed when I started personal training sessions with Jason Brown. He’s super knowledgeable and has given me great advice to help me reach my goals. Our weekly sessions give me confidence, a solid plan, and help me with my technique. I’m really happy with how it’s going so far!

Positive experience: Very busy. The sauna is often broken. Needs an upgrade

Fantastic experience: I have been a Club Member since January 2016. I would like to put on record that Liz in the Club Room has, from the day she arrived stood head and shoulders above her fellow workers. She always greets members with a smile and her work ethic is outstanding, serving our requests efficiently and cheerfully. I hold her in high regard and hope she remains in post for sometime to come. Her overall quality would be hard to replace. David MacFarlane.

Fantastic experience: Great Facilities and Friendly Instructors. It's always been a challenge to get to the gym, but a friend recommend I try doing a class and some PT sessions with Jason at David Lloyd Exeter. He's been incredibly patient, supportive, and encouraging, which makes a daunting environment seem a lot less of a challenge. His circuit training classes are great as well. You can push yourself as hard as you feel comfortable, and the whole vibe he creates makes a tough workout really enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic place to train with a great team who go out of their way to help. Notably, one of the personal trainers, Nathan, has consistently provided support in and out of training sessions, helping me develop my techniques across the powerlifting disciplines with great effect. A consummate professional, who is mega approachable, and is a credit to the gym team. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: Zack was amazing when he took me for my tour a few weeks' ago and put my mind at ease (as I had been out of the gym game for a while)! He is very personable and empathetic! I signed up there and then afterwards! I've been a member for just over a month now and absolutely loving it! The classes are top-notch, the instructors are so friendly and welcoming too and the gym equipment is top-notch! They also have an adult's only lounge, where you can work from in between classes too! I highly recommend David Lloyd in Exeter to anyone that's looking to work out in a safe, clean and welcoming environment!

Positive experience: Great facilities but let down with waiting over 45 minutes for food in the clubroom.

Negative experience: Updating and dropping to 1 star as still no response to multiple emails, app communications and messages at reception No communication before or after abrupt cancellation of a regular weekly class despite multiple requests for explanation at reception, via email and their App. Not what is expected from a premium club

Positive experience: We really enjoy our membership here. The club could do with a bit of a refresh, but the outdoor pool and general facilities make up for the fact it's a bit tired. Staff are friendly, food is great. Definitely not enough classes, never spaces, need another studio. Need more kids events. Kids swim lessons are great. And, the Exeter chief train in the pool in their tiny swim shorts!! What lore could you ask for!

Negative experience: Very disappointing I’ve been a member for over 10 years and this week, without warning they have cancelled my regular classes. Tried to raise the issue with the club no one would engage with me. I have tried to raise issues through the app on many occasions but they are ignored. They have changed the equipment but no longer show regular members how to use the equipment plus I’ve not had a new program offered since 2020. They are happy to take my monthly membership fees but make no effort to engage with existing members.

Fantastic experience: Completely converted to a gym goer because of Jason Brown. Weekly PT sessions with him are the only reason I step foot into a gym ! I may want to swear at him occasionally !! But he’s been amazing and makes my sessions actually seem fun and I really now, actually , like the gym. Every session is completely personalised - even with very loud music personal cardio sessions. I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough for anyone going into DL Exeter.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of David Lloyd Exeter for the last six months. The facilities are outstanding with a well equipped gym, heated indoor and outdoor pools and a fantastic spa. I mainly use the gym for regular PT sessions with Nathan Spiller who is an outstanding trainer who I highly recommend. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, patient trainer to help you achieve your fitness goals, Nathan should be your go to trainer. Six months ago, I was very reluctant to join a gym but joining David Lloyd is the best health decision I have made this year.
